Another amazing meal at this lovely restaurant. The staff can't do enough for you they are so friendly and helpful. It was my partners birthday, the staff came out with a cake and sang happy birthday, which was a lovely touch which was really appreciated. It is such a relaxed atmosphere. Nice to see that they are promoting cash is king

About time a decent indian restaurant & takeaway appeared in benton foresthall & killingworth area staff were fantastic and food was unbelievable, emaculatey clean & bright place. Would reccommend it to everyone

Beautiful food. Couldn't fault the Madrasi...edited 3rd May 2023. Beware if ordering take away. Madras separated into half water. Bland. Cold. Incorrect items sent. Refused to rectify. Awful

The food at the venue was really good. I had the lamb madras. The portion sizes are great. I could not finish the naan bread. There was a bit of a wait on the food, to the point where we are asking what was happening. The waiter calmly said they were behind because of the Deliveroo orders. Why would they favour deliveries over service to those that actually made the effort to turn up to eat at their establishment. We are the ones who will be tipping etc for good service. This was my big issue with the restaurant.

Very enjoyable meal here. Delicious. I had mixed kebab, chicken bindiya and mushroom rice with paratha bread. My mam's dish is kurma.

We tried it as a change to our usual and although very mild as noted on menu our first meal was tasty and very well made on our second visit we got it to our normal spicy levels and absolutely blown away great food lovely staff and reasonably priced we'll definitely be back

It's been a while since we ordered from here and sadly the last. I dont no what has happened but the food was tasteless very poor and such a shame it used to be lovely but not now .

Very disappointing. The pick up was 15 mins late for starters. My dish was devoid of much taste, despite apparently being the "most complex curry" and all of the objects I had to pick out of it (see the picture). I've never encountered cinnamon bark in a dish before, and one bit was about two inches long! I could have choked on it. The lamb was like rubber. My partner's dish was a tray full of watery puree with a pitiful amount of chicken in it. The rice and chips were the only redeeming part of this meal. I will not be back.

If Carlsberg did Indian restaurants!!!…this place is amazing! Spotlessly clean, staff lovely, food is AMAZING! Best Indian restaurant we’ve ever been to by far and I’ve been to some good curry places (Blackburn, Rusholme) You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I joined friends at this restaurant in October. It was the first time I had been there. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We have been to many Indian restaurants before and this was by far the best.

Always absolutely amazing food. As yet I've not dined in as always just had takeaways from here. But service has always been excellent with great staff. Definitely the best takeaway around by far.

Was amazing Ordered chicken tikka, lamb rogan josh Onion baji, with rice, chips, nan bread The food tasted amazing wasn’t watered down loads like other and onion baji wasn’t oily. Defo come back maybe eat in next time

Ordered chef special chicken kurma and it was horrible. Not good chicken probably thigh, pieces of wood (possibly coconut shell) and mostly like a tin of soup. So watery that as I lifted it from the paper bag it spilled out of the container. No taste or bulk to it at all. Phoned to complain and he just overtalked me and said food was good and nobody else complains. Refused refund and was rude to me. Do not recommend takeaway from here

Perhaps it was just one of those nights, but it was the first time I had been in years… perhaps a decade, and the rest of the group had never been before. It took forever for the food to arrive and at one point someone apologised explaining they had had loads of takeaway orders. We weren’t the only table waiting. Perhaps a decision has to be made about who gets priority or what Taste of India wants to be… or maybe we made a mistake of booking a table for six on a Friday. Like ok, ok, but the food was a bit disappointing. There was no real kick to any of the hot meals, no sizzle to the sizzling meals. The Keema naan had one lonely strip of kebab meat in it. Perhaps my memory of what Taste of India was is wrong, but I’m sure it used to be better than this.

I have been to other India restaurants but in my opinion This restaurant is certainly on of the best I have visited They are very professional towards there customers And the food is served in a very professional way So they get 9 out of 10

First time eating at the premises although we have had plenty of takeaways from here. We had a party of eight so thought it would be easier to sit in. It's always a friendly greeting from the staff and we were quickly shown to our table as we had booked in advance. We had are wide range in age from 11 to 81 which meant a varied pallete of tastes. But the waiter was very helpful and recommended some house specials which were very nice. We all enjoyed our food and left Happy. Would recommend this place to anyone and will be returning again in the future I'm sure.

Ordered tandoori chicken tikka masala and it had no taste, rang restaurant and they wouldn’t have it and hung up. Never again I’ll continue to go to west moor tandoori in future .

The food was really good. Decent sized portions which were enough to fill you up. The service was really good, the lads are really cheery and try their best to go the extra mile. Had the Punjabi Chicken starters, was brilliant. Chicken succulent and well spiced. The Lamb Biryani was flavoursome. The prices are a little more than advertised on the menu, enquired about this and had a great conversation with staff as this is due to the increases in prices for pretty much everything. I think anyone that gets put off by this should really take their time to understand costs involved especially given the current situation. Will definitely be back soon.

Dined in with 5 friends. Fab food & service but didn't like having to climb over other chairs to get seated. 🤔 We will definitely be back again though. Highly recommended!!

First time ordering and collecting a takeaway from here and wasn't at all disappointed! Spoke to someone on phone to place order who was very helpful. The restaurant itself looks immaculate and has a lovely atmosphere. Food delicious 😋 would highly recommend!! Would love to go here with friends for sit in meal!!!

Had a good meal here with some friends. Good size portions. The place is spacious and clean, at the time we went around 10.30pm it wasn't busy. Most staff are friendly but one of them couldn't wait to get us out. But overall it is good and would go back.

My wife and I dined at taste of India and we were thoroughly impressed. The food was brilliant, and the service, particularly from the young lads, was outstanding. Their professionalism and attentiveness made our experience truly memorable. We highly recommend this restaurant for an exceptional dining experience.

Despite living nearby for almost two years, it took us a while to get to Taste of India, and now I am kicking myself for waiting so long! The welcome was warm, on an otherwise freezing cold day, and the restaurant had extra heaters on the go too, to make sure it was a comfortable temperature. We ordered poppadoms and pickles first, followed by onion bhajis which were delicious and came with some excellent sauces. We chose mains from the chef's specials, one chicken, one lamb and both of them were delicious, with perfectly cooked meat. The mushroom bhaji and nut pillaw rice were also both delicious, and just the right portion sizes for one between two. The service was attentive but not oppressive, and we'll definitely be back soon!
