I don’t like rating low but this restaurant needs big time improvements. Taste was below average Tikka Masala was made too sweet, Dal makhni on the other hand was flavourless. Although the restaurant was not that busy they took 25 mins to serve the starters, The lady(indian origin) who took our order did not had any knowledge of their menu or indian cuisine in general moreover didn’t even knew whether the meat they server is halal or not.

The place of restaurant is beautiful, it get a nature light, and there are variety of table to dine . Waiters are friendly however they have no much experience. In regard to the food, it good in general but the tomato sauce was over in biriani and curry lab regen jwash . At all, the restaurant is good but I will not back again.

Wow, it was a gem in the heap of doubts. I loved this place & all the dish I had ordered. Loved the kadhai paneer, yellow lentils, rumali roti, rice, aubergine, tandoori butter roti. Though dabbawala masala tea was ok. Must visit place.

Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Table booked for 7pm. Called to say that we were running late, to be told that the table was only booked for 7-830, that’s fine and then informed that we would have to hand the table back before 830?? We left at 835 and not an issue. Slow service for initial drinks order and after arriving at no later then 715, food wasn’t ordered till 745 and arrived just after 8. Food was average and I feel sad in saying this as we went to Dabbawal in town pre COVID and it was fantastic. Bhajis and chilli chicken came out first and they were luke warm at best, complained about the chicken which was returned and replaced. When the rest of the food came out, it just wasn’t what we remembered in terms of quality. Will not be coming back unfortunately.

Not so salubrious entry to the restaurant past a whole slew of dumpsters and bins, but the restaurant itself was done out well. Plenty of staff to take orders and deliver food to the tables and all we met were friendly. Looked like they have a big trade in take out too given the number of boxes that we being prepared. Was difficult to see the menu for an old person like me as we were sitting near the back under the neon sign. Smart phone torch to the rescue! The menu was smaller than I was expecting, however all the normal favourites seemed to be there. Price wise a little expensive, but the portions were generous enough and the food was excellent.

Visited this beautiful place as we were working in the area for a couple of days. Looking at their google page, we decided to give it a try as the photos and reviews looked great. We hadn't booked, but was made to feel very welcome and was seated immediately without any fuss. The staff were friendly, and attentive and the food was extremely good. Definitely one of the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh, colourful and cooked just as I like (madras hot) It's a shame I live over two hours away. Very highly recommended place to eat in ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I visited New castle in the month of June for 2 nights break. I stayed in Jesmond so I googled this restaurant before hand and visited on the first day of my visit for lunch and was really surprised with the taste, ambience and the feel. We tried the chicken started which was really good and the thali which was wholesome. I visited them again for dinner on the second day and ordered similar stuff from the menu. They are welcoming and know what they are doing. There is one more branch in the city centre but I visited only the jessmond branch. Definitely try this place if you visit New castle not that far away from Jessmond dene if you are into walking.

We tried this place by recommendation from our Airbnb host as it was right around the corner from our stay. Great customer service, seated immediately without a reservation (although I would recommend reserving first). My fiancé and I ordered 4 small plates, pulao rice, garlic naan, & 2 desserts. Everything was absolutely delicious, but I particularly loved the sweet potato tempura. One thing to note is that it was very busy which caused the inside to be quite loud. Aside from that, absolutely no complaints!

Superb Indian cuisine, although I only ttied the Veg options. Excellent hospitality, good ambience, decently busy, parking available . Food presentation was top notch as you can make out from the pics. Taste was authentic. Will certainly come back with friends and family.

A friend of mine suggest that we meet for lunch rather than the usual dog walk (it was very wet!) and we met up for lunch. Arrived early so was almost empty but it filled up fairly rapidly. We ate from the lunch menu which gave a good selection of starters and mains. The service was prompt and very welcoming and the food arrived quickly and well presented. The waitresses were attentive but in no way over powering and food was excellent. I believe this is a favoured venue for students at night bu there were mainly older parties in at lunch (we fitted this demographic!) I had been to this restaurant many years ago when it was under different management and had another name (probably nearly 40 years ago!) and it is now much better. Highly recommended both for food and service. Thank you to all the staff and my friend for suggesting it!

Summer visit, late review. I ordered from the early evening menu. All the food was absolutely delicious, probably some of the best Indian food in Newcastle. The staff are lovely as well and are helpful with dietary requirements. Highly recommend the mango lassi as well

Very impressive restaurant hidden away down a back street. The food was delicious, probably the Best Madras I have ever tasted. The staff were all lovely and helpful. We were seated early and didn't have to wait long for food despite it being a busy Friday night. Would highly recommend a visit!

I've been here many times. Food is good but portions are very small compared to the prices . Make sure to let the waiters know the level of spicy you want as medium spicy in the UK is mild or less.

Best Indian restaurant in Newcastle, hands down! Nearly entire menu is Gluten Free, atmosphere really nice and staff couldn't be more accommodating in any aspect! 10/10

This place is great. My food was cooked perfectly and the flavours were great – delicately spiced, not oily and made with good quality ingredients. I got a takeaway, so didn't go into the restaurant, but the the atmosphere looked nice too.

Doesn’t look much from the outside but a surprise when you get inside. Great atmosphere and excellent food at a very reasonable price. We went on a Wednesday night and it was full so booking recommended. Only suggestion- better lighting in the toilets please! Otherwise, everything perfect.

Delicious food, staff super friendly, great atmosphere, special thanks to Nitin and other staff who went out their way to help my mum with dairy free dishes on the Chefs special banquet. Thank you 😊

Flavourful lunch time menu in warm and comfortable surroundings. Great presentation of items, meat cooked well and very tender, and lovely mix of flavours. Dhal makhani was buttery, creamy with a bit of a kick. Bhel puri had brilliant mix of flavours and textutes - tamarind, pomegranate, savoury, hint of sweet. Rotis were normal, nothing special but did the job. Elderflower sprint was spot on for how I like it - quite sweet, some syrupyness and full of flavour. I had bhel puri (£4.70),mixed grill (~12.65) and elderflower spritz (~£5). Friend had non veg thali (~12.60) and desi tea. Good friendly service but a bit patchy the requested tap water coming after a couple of requests. Also hope our tip went to our lovely waitress rather than to the owners contrary to previous reviewers reports... Recommend coming for the flavourful lunch menu when venue is nice and bright, but kept warm and comfy

Good value for money. Went for the Chefs surprise which is supposed to come with a selection of street food, grills, wraps, curries and sides for £17.50pp. You don’t get wraps and the street food isn’t a selection and is just a bhel puri (perhaps the menu wording needs a tweak). You do get; a mix of kebabs, a veg, lamb and chicken curry, rice and a naan. Quite tasty
