Curry is the nations favourite and I wanted to try out what I have heard refered to as the best curry in Banbury. Location Bit of a drive for this one out to Wroxton area, which on a cold rainy Saturday was not the nicest. But once there the car park is fairly large and the restaurant shines brightly in the dark winter eve. Interior For me, nothing special, the tables are clean and well presented but there wasn't a wow factor on decor. Not bad at all, just not great. We even had a little electric fan behind our table so they must get complaints about the draughts. Service Saturday night is a busy night but we found the entire service to be rather slow, taking a while to order, to clear the Poppadom plates, to serve the mains and eventually clear the mains. It wasn't a disaster but 2 hours for Poppadoms and a main is lengthy. Lucky I loved the company I was with ❤️. The team are however super friendly, welcoming and well presented so apart from beings super busy with all the customers no issue here. Food/drink We had so much food and honestly every dish was amazing and full of flavour. I won't comment on each but we had: Poppadoms & Chutney tray Chicken Tikka Masala - sauce was next level sweet without being sickly Veg masala Lamb rogan josh - a good kick to this and lamb was so tender Chicken korma - I could drink the coconut based sauce Chicken Towa - but dryer but packed with flavour Veg bhuna Saag Paneer - show stealer for me, more sauce than any other I have every had but the spinach and paneer combo with the sauce was just mindblowing! Plain & peshwari naan Drinks Standard drinks menu, we weren't here for the drinks so a pint of Cobra or Kingfisher works nicely Price At under £20 per head including drinks I am not complaining. It isn't winning awards for being cheap but it is for the value of the food vs the cost. Overall A solid curry had by all, the big question about best in Banbury? There are lots of others I have yet to try. I would say this place is up there currently and I will be back again but I am not convinced it's number one just yet!

Drove past a couple of times to work and decided to visit it one of the evenings. I was welcomed in by Friendly staff. I chose the tandoori mixed grill and a side of chicken pakora, I couldn’t fault it, good quality food. See you soon 🙌🏻 thanks again

Brilliant place to get an Indian curry, the service is really good and the staff are polite. The food is amazing and always is prepared to the highest standard and the price is good as well. Highly recommended. I would say that with the lack of delivery it may put you off, but it isn't far from local residents, please don't be out off as it's a great place to get a takeaway curry. 5 stars.

Had a take away as were travelling and staying in the area. Staff on the phone was polite and even more in the restaurant when I went to collect. Food was fresh and hot and tasted great!

Dined here for the first time last night with a good friend and was extremely impressed. The staff were welcoming and very professional. The food was delicious and very good quality. I liked the fact they did not cut their naan breads i like to break them up myself, just my preference. We had fresh, warm and crispy popadoms with delicious sauces to dip them into. I really enjoyed their Butter Chicken, yummy. There is plenty of parking and its a beautiful building, with different areas to sit in, particularly good if you wanted a separate area for a larger group for a celebration. In fact there was birthday table there last night and the staff started us all singing Happy Birthday as they brought out cake!. Its not the cheapest meal out but its not too expensive either and its worth it. I will be back, well done to you all at The Indian Queen.

Probably the best curry I've had in a long time! Recommend the capsilla if you just like a nice hot (but not uncomfortably hot ) curry. As I said to my girlfriend after eating it........blown away 👌

Always consistently excellent food at The Indian Queen, regardless of whether we have had food to go, or sitting in. Unlike many Indian restaurants they always, without fail, cook everything fresh, and it shows in the food (and how consistently busy the place is!)

This restaurant is one of the best I've been to in a long time. The food was amazing and good sized portions, it was all reasonably priced and a good selection. The restaurant was almost full on a Sunday evening with a lot of local people which is a good sign! Nice atmosphere. The service was faultless, everyone was so friendly and obvious they want you to have the best time, they even helped us out, not being local and unable to get a taxi, by giving us a lift back to our hotel a few miles away, everything wasn't any trouble for them. Food, Service and Restaurant are perfection! Well done to all the team, many businesses should take a leaf out of your book!

Our first visit. Great choice of vegie and vegan food. Plenty of meat and chicken dishes, but we stuck to non meat options. Just the right service level. No rushing, no delays, the staff must have been watching. 1830 on a Tuesday and 20 covers already there, so worth booking as popular. Next time we will just have popodoms and mains with sides. Probably the best ever peshwarie naans we have ever eaten. We will be back.

I went to The Indian Queen with my family to celebrate my sons 16th Birthday and were so glad this restaurant was recommended to us. The food Was AMAZING! by far the best i've had. I mentioned that it was to celebrate my sons birthday and they put up a banner and Balloon which made his day! They even decorated the plate when they brought his cake out. Honestly can't fault anything about our experience. Food came quickly and the price was incredibly reasonable. We felt so welcome and will definitely be returning.

Id been hoping to try this place ourt for 2 years, and finally made it this June - what a fantastic restaurant! The portions are very big, so you dont need to order too much, but i wish i could have because there was so much to try - many dishes id never heard of. I highly recommend the spicy Bengal fish curry (speciality house dish), and my son was very happy to have chicken nuggets and chips as he didnt want spicy.. Thanks goes to all the staff, who were super friendly, professional, and full of smiles and good humour - it made for a great evening.. This is now going to be my go-to place for authentic indian food!

Great meal for 5 of us. No excess oil in the dishes like you get at many and the dishes were so flavoursome and fresh. Absolutely loved all 5 of our meals and they catered to all requirements.

We hadn't been back to the Indian Queen since before the covid lockdown, so were looking forward to a revisit for my partner's birthday. In my opinion, it's one of the best Indian restaurants in the Midlands - including Leicester and Birmingham. Himself started with his favourite - the onion bhajis are amazing. I had vegetable samosas. Our mains were chicken thawa (him) and chicken achanac (for me), and we shared a garlic fried rice. All the dishes were amazing: and the bonus is - no excess oil, fantastic flavours and you're able to request that a curry that is milder (or hotter) than shown on the menu. For me, the thawa was too mild but still full of flavour. I'd not had an achanac before but it was right up my street: cooked with coriander, then covered in fresh coriander. Warm and spicy with fresh ginger (?) it was delicious. We decided we didn't have room for dessert, but himself had mentioned that it was his birthday and a chocolate cake, topped with a flaming candle. We brought the rest home. At only 35 minutes from home, we've definitely going back more often.

We booked a birthday meal here which was sadly disappointing. There was no greeting, we had to go up to the bar to order our drinks and when asking to order them we got attitude from the man asking us how we were going to pay the bill… (we done it on one payment they didn’t need to split it for us)…. The restaurant was busy but we saw people served starters and mains before we were given menus. We had to call someone over for menus, then again about 30 minutes later to ask to take our order. Drinks and plates were piling up as they hadn’t checked for drink orders or cleared our table We were really disappointed with the mains and generally didn’t have a very good evening due to the poor service and attitude from the staff, this is the 2nd time I’d been, service was good last time but was shocked this time and both times I didn’t enjoy my meal

The food was top notch. Loses a couple of stars because it’s a bit pricey and we were crammed in a small room which was bulging with customers and no ventilation so obviously as the meal progressed it became hotter and very uncomfortable. There was another room but they seem to cram everyone into the smaller one. Sorry but there won’t be a second visit.

My mum, husband and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time tonight, and what a lovely dining experience we had! A special thanks to our wonderful waiter Jabz who looked after us, he gave an excellent warm friendly service and went above and beyond. Also a special thanks to the chef for the gorgeous food. We’re excited to come back again soon.
