We had an excellent meal at the Gateway to India. As a party of 5 we arrived into a busy restaurant and quite late at night but the staff were accomodating and pleasant. There was a very large party table ahead of us but it didn't have too much impact. The food itself was delicious and really well made. We had a selection of curries, all of which had distinctive flavours and there was nothing too spicy, although we didn't choose any of the particularly hot curries. The best piece was the tandoori grill option, extremely good value for money! We were all a little jealous of our friend who picked that. We had a few drinks and then split the bill between us. At 25 quid a head we felt that we got good bang for our buck and we all left very happy that we found this lovely place. We'll definitely be back!

The vibe inside The Gateway To India is conflicting. Is it trying to be a lounge bar, given the selection of tunes? Is it trying to be one of the new-age street food venues, given the newspaper clippings? Or is it trying to don its Sunday best and try a dab of fine dining? And what’s with the comfortable brown booths? It sits firmly on the fence like a sleeping wood pigeon. What it does do well is get food to the table with a presentable charm. The staff are great; the manager educated me in Sikhism, which was awesome. He and his assistant were perceptive and cared about what I thought of the dishes. The Gateway To India at least tries something new in the saturated arena of Indian Cuisine Restaurants. It just needs to choose a path.

Good tasting Indian food and plenty of it. The street food menu looked great so must give that a go next time.

We ordered the butter chicken, korma, naans and pulao rice. It was the best curry I've ever had - my partner loves curry (he is a head chef), absolutely adored the meal. The food was very fresh and we felt the chefs really knew what they were doing in that kitchen! Highly recommended - staff were also extremely friendly and toilets very clean. Thank you!

From walking in staff were very professional and on point, no request was too big. Nicely decorated with clean rest rooms. Food was the best tasting curry we had both tasted in a while and was very well presented. 2 for 1 on tastecard across all courses made it value for money. Will definitely go back

This restaurant is wonderful! From the moment we got in there, you could tell how much effort goes in to their presentation. From the tables, to the menu and to their food. The prices were the same as any good Indian restaurant, and the food was of high quality. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area

Delicious food and very friendly staff. The best naan I've ever tasted. Wheelchair accessible throughout including an accessible toilet.

The food was good, the service was great and the prices for the location was reasonable. The food portions were big unlike some places. The only thing is that the place felt a little cramped.
