Drinking beers here and hanging at the bar is the ultimate vibe. Great fries, great drinks, and the Mac n cheese is out of this world. Housed in a former mansion, the space is beautiful and they brew all their own beers on site. Always a favorite spot

Beet and lentil vegan burger. Better than I expected and I'm 100% carnivore! Drinks are worth their price point

Brewer's Art is a fantastic stop for beer with solid offerings for dinner both upstairs and downstairs. 👍 The kitchen maintains some American classics on their menu at all times, but always has a few offerings that are pretty interesting or creative. My favorite thing I've eaten here was a pork belly + honeycomb dish down in the lower bar. The fries are super popular, but they're hit or miss for me - sometimes they are everything...or they are a over fried + under seasoned. Probs better during rush hours if you want them fresh. The formal area was our first foray into nice dining when we first moved to Baltimore years ago, so this restaurant holds a special place in my heart. ♥️ Brewer's Art is a staple of Baltimore. If you haven't been, I hope this review entices you to add it to your list soon.

Cool spot with great food and drinks. Downstairs has grungy speakeasy vibes. There was a great special on Wednesdays. $20 for a burger and beer. Burgers are usually $17ish. So it was a great deal. Lots of fries and made to order burgers.

A genuine two in one experience here. Upstairs is sweetness and light with a Charles street view and downstairs is a cozy area with lighting suitable for a romantic evening. The Resurrection is great and so was my burger special. I could have used a bit more burger though to go with the sublime rosemary fries.

Fun vibe in the basement....speakeasy. self service order at the bar...deliver to the table. Decent food. Dark environment so if that's not you thing stay upstairs.

I have passed bu this place for years. It was the first time I had a chance to dine here. The setup is a bit weird. You have to make your order at the bar so there is no specific server to come take your order, so be mindful. Also, the menu is very limited, I believe they may be more geared to beer service. There are not a lot of appetizers or veggie options. So, if you're on a low-carb diet, be aware. Lots of pretzels, breads, and fries as finger food. The pluses, the salad was good and so was the chicken with brussels. I do like my Brussels a bit more tender or flash fried. Theirs was ok. Overall, decor was in dire need of repair, and the door handle to the establishment almost fell off in my buddies hand. Our server from the bar was cool. It was a nice time spent with my friend here.

Excellent food and great portion size. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and was impressed with the amount of chicken and the texture on the breading. The mushroom sauce was also quite tasty. The anniversary beer (XXVII) was well done, nice and malty. They had about 6 beers on tap, all made in house. So, not an extensive selection, but solid. The building itself is a magnificent old structure with hardwood floors and high vaulted ceilings with nice detailing, but is a bit well worn. The main thing was, the vibe of the place was just kind of dead. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't packed yet had to make reservations. The basement bar wasn't very packed either. People watching wasn't the greatest, everyone was very subdued and not in a quiet romantic date kind of way. Great food, good beer, nice staff.

We expected the outstanding drinks: their house brews are generally superb (I got the GPT Green Peppercorn Tripel). The food was also high-quality, especially the sausage platter and the very rich house-made ice cream. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

My husband and I previously viewed Brewers Art as a staple in the neighborhood, until today….After having a wonderful dinner at the restaurant, we ordered dessert from their menu to-go. Once getting home we learned that the kitchen literally sent us home with an order of burnt cookies, which were black on the bottom and the top. We believe that it was intentional given that no one in their right mind would have served this. Absolutely ridiculous and poor service! Very disappointed!

After much searching in the Baltimore area for the right combination of ambience and great food/drink, we decided to host our son and DIL's rehearsal dinner at The Brewer's Art. It was the best decision we could have made. The ambience is just right... a little moody with beautiful original wood trim and low lights in a semi-private space. The menu was tailored to the season and offered an option for everyone. The food, from starters to desserts, was exceptional and drinks were perfect. The service was top-notch starting with our email communications with Volker throughout the planning process, to the waitstaff who were extremely attentive and anticipatory about our needs. I highly recommend The Brewer's Art!

Very cool place, we stopped to eat here because it was within walking distance of a show we were going to watch. I got a burger and fries, and the drink was good too! They had a lot of beer options, I think, but the cocktails were different and I enjoyed everything about the place, especially the greeter. He was super cool and friendly. Great vibe, I def would come back here.

Food: What I ordered: Flatbread and Soft Pretzel Rating: 5/5 The pretzel is one of the best pretzels I've had. The mustard and cheese sauce were both EXCELLENT! Flatbread was also quite good. Though normally I'm not a fan of arugula, it was very yummy. Atmosphere: It was quiet when I came and the decor was very nice. Service: Service was great. When I came there was no table service (not sure if this is always the case). So we just had to go up front to order, which made it very simple.

The bathrooms here are among the cleanest I’ve ever seen. This fact is encouraging as clean bathrooms usually indicate a clean kitchen. We walked in at 9pm on a Friday evening to find the beautiful dining room was astonishingly empty. We had to order our food through the bar. Although being short, the menu offered an eclectic array of culinary delights. My burger was cooked to the proper temperature. I’d highly recommend trying the rosemary fries! My dining partner was immensely pleased with his soft pretzel accompanied by two dipping sauces. I don’t like the fact that the bar had to hold onto my card while I ate dinner. I wanted to pay cash at the end, yet they ran my card anyway! Otherwise, this was a great dining experience.

Outside seating differs pretty drastically from the inside. So there is a really a settling for everyone. If you want some a bit more casual eat/drink outdoors. For something a bit more formal try indoors. I can't speak of "The Cave" since it wasn't open when we visited.

Food is amazing, and I say that rarely. The buffalo schnitzel sandwich is the bomb, the caramelized onion flatbread will make you wish every flatbread was that one. Oh, and the beer is fantastic. Always a fan of Resurrection, but had a beazly and it was the beaz-nees

The beer here is amazing. The food was really good. We had the chicken schnitzel which had a very good taste. It said mushroom sauce but just looked like sautéd mushrooms. The cheeseburger tasted fresh off a charcoal grill. Service was good but there was one waiter working the entire floor. He did great. Nothing fancy about plated dishes here.

This brewery/bar/restaurant is awesome. They brew their own beer, which I've heard is really good. As a (symptomatic) celiac myself, I highly recommend it for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity; they offer cider, mead, and gluten free beer. Amazing! Plus, on the cocktail menu, they mark the drinks that contain gluten (so thoughtful!). They have a separate fryer, and they're knowledgeable about cross contamination. I've had the rosemary and garlic fries, which are delicious, and had no symptoms after. Cool vibes both upstairs and downstairs.

Honestly, I would just skip this place for another brewery. There are much better breweries around in Maryland. I had mixed opinions about both the customer service and food. I ordered the sausage platter and hamburger. The burger wasn’t really seasoned well and mostly tasted bland. Not much flavor going on even with the mayo. The sausage platter had decent sausages but nothing crazy. The best things that they had were the fries, but they were just slightly above average. A small menu wouldn’t be bad if the food was excellent, but that wasn’t the case. The customer service was mixed. The person who took our order was very curt and forgot to include a dish I ordered. The manager was much nicer though and was very polite in explaining what happened and why my food wasn’t served. The other staff seemed okay too, so it just seemed like the guy at the bar was not so great and quite grumpy. Overall, you are not missing out of you pass on this place. A solid 2 stars honestly but I give it three for the nice manager that was there.

Amazing service and food. The staff is very polite and friendly. Also the food came very quickly. It had some of the best fries I have had. Also, the pumpkin lentil soup and chicken pot pie are great. A little on the pricier side, though. The staff, including the servers, are properly masked if that is something that matters for you.

I used to go to Brewer’s Art a lot. Then I had a few pretty terrible experiences with food and service, so I hadn’t been back in years. Last week a friend wanted to go: The bartender was awesome (perfect sazerac) and the food was great (excellent burger). Returned tonight and had the same experience. I plan to start regularing once again.

Lovely spot for beer or a bite. Formal atmosphere with spacious seating. Great lounge downstairs. Many of the areas best Brews for some time now. Treat someone!

Go for the beer, not for the food or the service. Went for dinner, party of two. Service was friendly but did not come by often, water and drinks sat empty for long periods of time. When we ordered a second glass of wine, the server brought a different (more expensive) glass. Now about the food. Pretzel and beer cheese was great. Hot roast beef sandwich was really bad. I've had better at Arby's. Meat was dry. Sandwich lacked the advertised "horseradish sauce." Had to ask for more and when the kitchen brought it they said "yes this sandwich needs more sauce." Cheese was nonexistent, and the bun was a sad wonder bread burger bun that I could get on a fast food hamburger. Would not recommend.

The food was incredible! The bartenders and servers were attentive and great at their craft. However the manager on duty tonight made it very clear he didn’t want to be there and didn’t want us to be there. As a party of 7, we offered to split up into two groups, we told him we were fine with waiting longer for food and he refused to serve us and said if we have to order, we could maybe find a table in the bar. His attitude cost his team money. Of course we still tipped well but we easily would’ve ordered a few more rounds and dessert if we felt accommodated.

Unique experience and fantastic craft beer. We stopped here for a drink while exploring the Mt Vernon neighborhood and loved it. The decor, ambiance, staff and beer were all wonderful. Have since had their beer at several other bars around town, can’t wait to come back.

Interesting vibed spot. You can either be upstairs or downstairs - the upstairs having more natural light and the tables/paintings etc or downstairs with the red light and more "grungey" vibe. Both spots definitely had their own pros and cons. The reason for the 3 stars is because I didn't really think the beers were all that impressive. A cool place to hang out for sure, and a great spot to get together with friends etc. but I think the drinks were just mediocre and fell a bit flat. Don't get me wrong, I think its a solid spot but I think their beer could use more "pizzazz"
