Me and my husband visit here often for weekly lunch dates. We always enjoy the laid back, chill vibe. Good food, drinks, and music soundtrack. Recently, we were taken by the automatic 20% gratuity added. We are excellent tippers wherever we go, but allowing us as patrons to make the decison based on an average between 15 to 20% is our preference. Plus, just handing us the receipt and walking away wasn't a good impression either.

This was my first visit. Nice atmosphere on the inside. It was pretty busy. Colin was our server. He said he had only been working there for 2 weeks. However, he was pretty good, professional, and personable. The food had good presentation and taste.

JUST SAY YOU LOVE ME WITHOUT SAYING YOU LOVE ME. Whew, lord! Have y'all looked at the menu yet?! Dolly and I loved dining at The Avenue. The food is exceptionally great, drinks carefully curated and the customer service was wonderful. I had the crab cake sandwich. The ambiance is casual sexy. Dress code is casual but I mean... why not put on something nice? The music isn't too loud either. Nice spot for a first date.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the hamden area. They play great music as well as karaoke on some days. My favorite thing is there happy hour the plethora of cocktails offered is amazing. They don't have as large of a selection for happy hour food but everything we tried was immaculate. Coming back soon to explore the menu a bit more.

My first experience at Avenue Bar & Grill was amazing. It was for a private small group meeting. The appetizers were delicious. So delicious that I decided to order more food to go. Well, as you can see, I then started eating some of those items before I left. The fried green tomatoes came with mini crab cakes. I really miss good MD crab cakes and they have some good ones!!! The corn deliciousness that came with the crab cake entree was mouthwatering good. Can’t wait to come back and try out other items in their menu!

Hubby and I came for an impromptu dinner date. Atmosphere was nice, service was great, and the food was good. We shared the crab dip...yum. I had the chicken sandwich and he had 3-piece fried chicken. Oh...drinks we tasty too. We'll be back.

Nice atmosphere. We sat outside to eat on a Wed night. The jerk chicken meal was an item on the restaurant week menu. The AKB fried chicken is a regular menu item. Wednesdays special includes $20 pasta and wine bottles. The waiter, Jermaine, was great and attentive. The manager walked around to check on guests. The Mac n cheese was a little different at first, but I ended up really liking it. The fried chicken was juicy, but salt. Buffalo sauce went great with it. The jerk chicken was also juicy, but bland. My friend asked for hot sauce and that revved up the flavor for him. The brussel sprouts are AmaZing. There are 2 sauces on them that give it so much flavor. The cornbread was not good. It actually tasted pretty old and dry. All in all, great experience. Hookah is also available, I believe around $40.

Very nice restaurant! Server was very pleasant making sure we were pleased with everything we ordered. Mango Margarita was delicious so was the crab dip! I wished it came in a larger serving considering the price and all the bread and chips it comes with! Very nice and chill vibe nice music and atmosphere. Bathrooms were spotless big big plus in my book! Will definitely recommend

my neighbors and i came here for restaurant week, and we really enjoyed it. the food was delicious, and the cocktails were good.

I was disappointed. We got lump crab dip for $19, and there was Literally not one piece of crab. It was cream cheese dip and they served this with sandwich bread. I also ordered shrimp and grits which had great presentation but was watery, undercooked, and barely any grits in my bowl. After I removed the tomato’s and garnishes I had barely any grits in my bowl. So disappointed because this place had good reviews and was expensive. I went during the lunch hour on a rainy weekday so it’s not like it was busy. We did complain about the crab meat and they provided crab meat in a saucer that we mixed in but it still had no flavor and wasn’t any good. The photo is of the crab dip once we mixed in the side of crab meat. Way to pricey for the low quality.

Man listen. The Best spot on the Block. Damn near on this side of town. Food is great(flavorful) Atmosphere is chills. Whether it's lunch,Brunch or Dinner the food is awesome.

After a little trouble entering I realized atmosphere was really a vibe! We had to walk around the back to enter because their doors were locked😒 but playlist had me tapping my feet while I was enjoying the delicious breakfast brisket burrito 🌯☺️ I don't drink alcohol so I got a virgin strawberry crush which was yum and My mom and sisters loved their cocktails!

Smoked wings(not pictured) were the best thing we ordered. Fried chicken was ok could have been cooked a little longer. I thought cream spinach should be cooked spinach and mine was not. Waitress was ok and head's up 20% gratuity is added to every check no matter your party size.

The entire experience at Avenue Kitchen + Bar was absolutely amazing and phenomenal. Shana and Joe (I believe those were our severs) kept us completely content and happy. Their service was amazing in keeping up with the insane amount of orders we had coming to them the entire night. We most definitely will be coming back in the future.

10/10 recommend. I went here for brunch over the weekend to celebrate my cousins birthday. Music was great (played the entire renaissance album just for us), drinks were fast and flavorful (I recommend all the pitchers), and the customer service was amazing. Definitely will be returning!

I ate here yesterday evening for the first time and it was amazing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the steak tacos and crab dip. Delicious. 10/10. Highly recommend.

The food was pretty good! The drinks were bussing as the kiddos say, and the musiccccc…its a vibe all the time! They played all of the R&B hits and baby we had a great time! I will definitely come here again!

Visiting from Chicago and we hit this place up on a Sunday on a time crunch. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious! Portions were massive - drinks were awesome! We ordered the Mac and cheese, Brisket quesadillas, French toast, and waffles (everything was unbelievable). Highly recommend !

Visited on a slow Sunday evening towards the end of the August. Sat outside to dine. Outdoor waitress’ energy was very dry. She wasn’t rude, but she was dry. The burger special is tasty and worth it. I didn’t find the crushes worth getting despite them being on special too. The Caesar salad was good as were the truffle fries.

Food is great! Everything was great. Drinks, music, vibes, food. Black owned and super chill. I loved my food!

I had high hopes for this place, I think we went on an off night. The service wasn’t that great despite servers being everywhere, we definitely had to get a few people’s attention. The drinks however, were phenomenal! The food was really good as well. Overall it was a good experience, I’d be willing to give it another try.
