Myself a friend and my son came into this establishment because I’ve heard great things about it, however it was predominantly Caucasian 98% needles to say I’m African American upon entrance the staff wasn’t welcoming and looked at us as if we were at the wrong location okay it was busy so I’ll give them a pass on that, once we finally did get acknowledged by a staff member she went to check come back after 20 mins to tell us it would be a 40min wait as if we didn’t see empty tables, okay well LORD AND BEHOLD a couple comes in behind us and I guess there was no longer a wait

This is a great place! Their burgers are the best I've had in years, maybe ever! Great variety of food and good prices. I intend to go back every time I'm in the area

Update: This is still the best local neighborhood bar in baltimore. Great food, fantastic beer selection and a neighborhood feel. If you are from out of town and want to check out a cool Baltimore spot go to Alonso's! New ownership at Alonso's has brought the food and vibe at this classic Baltimore bar back to where it should be. The perfect place for a burger and a beer. Maybe the best hamburgers in Baltimore! I'm back... Easily still one of the best beer and burger watering holes in baltimore. Alonso is quaint, neighborhood style, and laid-back. If you just want to have a couple of beers and grab a bite to eat this is the perfect place.

We tried Alonso's for the first time last weekend and despite no reservation and one person in a wheelchair, they could not have been more accommodating! Service was efficient and friendly and we needed advice making our (mostly burgers!) selections. Burgers were incredible and left no takers for dessert though the offerings near the bar are tempting. We will definitely be back!!

Never disappointed, the meal is fantastic. Despite one waitress tending to the front of the restaurant as a whole, the service is cordial.

I used to go there frequently 15-20 years ago. It was good especially the burgers and pizza. I recently moved back to Baltimore and was in the area, so I decided to stop in with my family. I can't believe how terrible it was. The food was practically inedible. My medium burger was cooked to a crisp, my wife's thin crust pizza was not thin crust and not good. My son's fried chicken sandwich looked as though it had been reheated half a dozen times. I won't be back. It's sad because it used to be a great spot.

We ordered delivery. The food showed up stone cold almost two hours later. Apparently the driver was waiting around for the food for a long time and they just never gave it to them. We warmed it up as best we could, and it wasn't very good. And then my wife found a long hair in her hamburger. Which was also raw...not rare. Raw. Do not recommend.

Came in on a Sunday evening with my wife and daughter. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Everything tasted great and were cooked at requested temperatures. Definitely has a different vibe from years prior, not sure a positive or negative. But the kitchen seemed to be on point and will happily go back.

We go here fairly regularly. There is always one woman in particular that is just the sweetest who takes our pick up order. The food is good and hits the spot when you just need a burger and fries in your life.

Grabbed pick-up for our family after hearing someone compare it to The Dizz. It was amazing! The food was ready quickly and the entire order was complete and reasonably priced. While it wasn’t quite the same as our beloved Dizz, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back

Welp they get one star because I came up to eat at 2:45 Monday after Christmas 2022 and the sign states they will open at 3:00pm. I waited 20minutes just for the lady to turn me away pointing at the sign on the door saying 3:30pm when it says 3pm. I tried, but never again.

Just perfect. A neighborhood watering hole with friendly staff and great beers on tap. I will always come back whenever I'm in the area.

This is one of my favorite places to eat by my job. Unfortunately, due to Covid, it was about 2 years since I had been able to sink my teeth into a 1 lb Smokehouse with tots and sweet tea. Great food and service, never disappoints.

This is a classic Baltimore corner bar with excellent food. Elaine is the best! She does more than any human should in any given allotment of time.

Great salad. Good burgers. Take a look at the cake chest up front. Haven't tried one yet, they're over the top!

In town for parents weekend My son's Ian's favorite to go spot. Great atmosphere, awesome food, with the best hospitality . Lots of choices and looking forward to our next visit. Check it out!!

Such a great place. The staff is laid back yet attentive, the menu is good, the atmosphere is very comfortable and they have very good beers on tap. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in the area.

I went to college years ago at Loyola just up the street from Alonso’s and remember it as an area institution, but I was very pleasantly surprised tonight when I had a dinner with friends that was just fantastic. The pizza was great, the crab and cheese topped tater tots were amazing, and the wings were crispy and tender. A wide selection of beers, including a good number on tap. Both the ladies working there tonight were totally Baltimore and a lot of fun. I thought it might be a little loud on a Saturday night, but the noise level was just fine for conversation at dinner. Note that around the back of the building which you can access from the street or alley on one side or the other, there’s a little parking lot with spots designated for Alonso’s and other nearby establishments. Be sure to stop and being mesmerized by the rotating tower of refrigerated cakes.

Alonzo’s is an institution that earns that rep day after day after day. Everything is good on the incredibly diverse yet brief menu. That includes terrific pizza as well as high-quality reliable entrées Italian, seafood and otherwise. Don’t even go next-door and grab you some mulligatawny if that’s what you want. Elaine and team are the hardest working people in show biz. Great for watching games. And of course the colorful locals bring a show of their own.

Ate there the other night. Solid burger joint though overtime for at least an update. Booths are small and wait staff nice enough. Food is solid, nourishing and filling.

Place is ok for sandwiches and a pretty decent selection of burgers. Craft beers are also very good. Food is ok, not the best though. Service is awesome and that’s why I’m giving 4 and not 3 stars

Alonso's has lost some of its luster over the years. Its strong points remain: excellent bar food led but its signature 1 lb. burger and a large selection of craft beers.

Elaine is THEE GOAT!! Make sure you specify what size burger you want cause holy hrll the 1lb is as big as my head! Dranks are well crafted. Very chill local vibe, not rowdy. Its where we go when we get off work. Lots of familiar faces always. You can also order from the Indian spot next door and they'll bring it to you.

All i can say is WOW . super amazing. the place is beautiful and the service is great and the food is delicious.

I can only say WOW. really amazing The setting is stunning, the service is excellent, and the cuisine is delectable.

Mussels were excellent had the black & blue burger it tasted awsome however it was a little dryer than usual and it was not piping hot so that some of the blue cheese crumbles would have melted just something I enjoy from them, Darcee was excellent from start to finish.

The service was prompt and kind. The burgers were fantastic and wonderful! Their dessert was also delicious.
