We went to Lexington Market and tried some of Faidleys Seafood. We ordered two Lump Crab Cake with French Fries and Fried Shrimp with French Fries. The Lump Crab Cake was cooked perfectly, fresh, hot and taste like a Crab Cake. The Lump Crab Cake size was okay but the French Fries portion was a bit too small to have added to the side, it would be great if you could get more French Fries on the side. Nothing was special about the shrimp and French Fries just another small amount. Staff was attentive, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We park at Republic Parking (Market Center Parking Garage) next door to Lexington Market. This parking garage was affordable and convenient when shopping at Lexington Market.

I’ve been here total of two times in my life and I love it. The standing room only while eating is so unique. The seafood here will never let you down. They have a plethora of items. I of course had the crabcake platter with a side of candied yams & Mac n cheese. My buddy had the same thing but his sides were fries and M&C. They have an oyster bar. The menu is expansive. The flounder was so hot and tender and gave me. I could’ve ate three more of them. The hot sauce complements your food so much. I tried their garlic bread. It was soft, buttery, flaky, and I liked it a lot. The service is quick and lovely. Small businesses for the win.

The best crab cakes in Baltimore. Excellent seafood selections. Shrimp salads, fried oysters, codfish cakes, and more. Still located in the old portion of Lexington Market, so be prepared for zero ambience.

This stand is part of the big food hall, and is located to the left of the entrance. The stall on the right is much busier but it served mostly fried seafood. The steam pot platter I got here had two crabs, 1/2 lb of Texas shrimp, and a dozen clams. I upgraded the two crabs to the extra large size which was definitely worth it. I also added a half dozen oysters. The oysters were very mild but big and meaty. This shop recycles the empty shells and put them back in the bay, which I think is really cool.

Faidley's crab cake is an absolute American story! The story of how you can became famous with only one thing/product... You can smell history here, this place is out of this world, such an experience to see and witness this place today! The food is ok, sandwich was nice, bit no more then that. On the other side, prices are to high for this amount of food. 4* is a max rate.

Crab cake wasn't bad, wished there was more crab and texture was less mushy. Definitely some good flavors though. The cucumber salad was very sweet, prefer a bit better balance with vinegar. Coleslaw was good, a bit too saucy though. Whole platter was roughly $30, which is a tad price-y for the small portions.

We purposely made a trip to Lexington Market and because of the great mentions of this restaurant I had to try their crab cake. I paid market price $24.99 plus tax for the crab cake. We also tried the catfish sandwich. The crab cake is a decent size with lump crab meat and minimal filler but it lacked flavor. Not one seasoning was tasted but I got an overwhelming taste of mustard. The catfish was very bland as well. Edible because I’m not going to waste food. The restaurant itself is standing tables only. You can get other seafood items there. The staff were pleasant. Parking available on the street or the nearby garages.

Best crab cakes ever!!! That is a very bold statement, but I have never tasted anything quite like Faidley’s crab cakes. The crab cakes alone makes me drive hours from NY to Maryland. Once you savor one of these crab cakes, any crab cakes you will eat can never compare. I guarantee you that. The sides are also phenomenal and a good compliment to the crab cakes. The set meal makes it a celebration when you visit Faidley’s. But Faidley’s is not just about their crab cakes, they also have a vast array of seafood like fish, oysters and whole crabs. It is an experience worth going to Baltimore for.

Delicious!!! Pretty pricey given the amount of food, but the crab lump was delicious. Fun vibes. Have to stand while you eat, but it's such an exciting place one hardly minds! But good to keep in mind for accessibility.

Oh Boy! What a meal! AWESOME CRAB CAKES & SEAFOOD!!! And a Natty Bo beer finish it off. Im from Georgia and have been in the area a couple of times, and finally got to try it. Must say it was well worth it. It is pricey, for me and my wife we spent about $90, however we enjoyed every bit of it. The market is a real charm to walk around and takes you back in time. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area again. Yum!

Iconic crab cakes in Baltimore. Market price: mine was around $24-25. No seats, only standing tables. Given Faidley’s accolades, I expected it to taste much better, but it was bland with only a hint of mustard(?). The idea is to dress the crab minimally, to let the crab be the star of the show, but it failed to draw out the natural sweetness of the crab—perhaps a bit more salt. That said, the price is fair for this amount of jumbo lump crab meat with hardly any filler. It’s an honest business. I wouldn’t make a special trip out of it, but it’s worth trying if you’re in the area.

It is definitely overpriced and not at all what was expected. I love trying new places. The decor was very nice but the food wasn't seasoned well. There are no chairs to seat in. You just have to stand at bar style tables

A personal Michelin star, come here if you’re in the area, type of spot! Definitely a few hefty dollar signs but it’s based off of market prices and it’s WORTH it. I didn’t know I liked crab cakes until I had one from here and it was served with a fresh side sal. I also got the cream of crab soup for a comfortable satiating lunch. The staff was efficient and they have their well-versed routine in their kitchen. Street parking next to the location is very hard to come by so you might need to consider public parking.

Best crab cakes in Baltimore (and likely anywhere in the world). A must visit if you are in town. I usually get some raw oysters too, but all the food is amazing.

We really enjoyed dining at Faidley's! The crab cake was delicious and you can see the oysters for yourself. The service was great and we are grateful.

If you find yourself on business in this area… go to Faidleys! Pick out your own fresh seafood, they steam or fry for you. Highly recommend the red snapper (fried) with coleslaw, steam shrimp with all of the seasonings and add their famous crab cake to whatever you order. 10 out of 10.

Went by the Lexington Market primarily to visit Faidley’s. Construction is still underway. The original location is very close so no biggie to walk a few minutes. They serve the best crab cakes we’ve ever had and this isn’t the first Maryland lump crab crakes we’ve had either…not just in Baltimore but around Maryland as well. My only wish is that we had more time and that prices weren’t as high but prices are a sign of the times that I don’t hold blame at this family owned establishment. If ever I’m anywhere near, I’d love to stop by again. I’d recommend the same to anyone that wants to put to test the idea of a what they think a great crab cake tastes like…then watch Faidley’s set your new standard for excellence.

I finally got to taste the best crab cakes and wow it did not disappoint! Love every bite! I tried both style of crab cakes, I love the jumbo lump better due to its thickness of crab meat. However, the backfin crab was seasoned really well and has a kick to it. Either one is good and worth a try.

Got a jumbo lump crabcake and had oyster and beet with my Love. Impromptu lunch date was great. Even talked to the owner/daughter of lady pictured on the wall.

A hole in the wall dive for sure. It was questionable walking to it from Inner Harbor, but no issues. Food was fantastic. Standing tables only. The lady hand making the crabcakes was 3rd generation and doing it 50+ years. Her daughter was running the register. It was a must see for me and I'd go back if I ever get back to Baltimore. Crabcake and 2 sides were about $32. Totally worth it.

Faidley seafood market is a blast from the past. You’re not gonna sit down and eat in comfort. You walk in and they want you to order right away. You get in line and you have to quickly decide what you want. I chose to walk around and look at everything and then come back to decide. My husband got one crabcake, coleslaw, and a beer. I got the crabcake platter, which came with one crabcake, and two sides. I chose the macaroni seafood salad, and the carrot salad it Was too much food for me. I enjoyed the crabcake and so did my husband, it wasn’t the best crabcake we’ve had but it was good. My husband had to wait a long time to get a beer, they need more staff. I didn’t mind standing while eating, but I could see how some people wouldn’t want to do that.

All I can say is that their crab cakes are a MUST TRY. Absolutely delicious 🤤 The first bite was phenomenal. I will never eat crab cakes anywhere else. We got meet Nancy Faidley-the best crab cake maker in the world-and her daughter Damye. Lovely and truly awesome people. Their story is the best!

The most awesome crab cake EVER!! We also had a sampler platter which was incredible as well. Easy walk from the Lexington Market Light rail stop. We were complete newbies and everyone was so helpful suggesting what to have, service was quick, and did I mention the food was incredible! Do not miss this when in Baltimore!!

Best seafood on the planet. I haven't had oysters this good since I can remember. The crab cakes are world-famous. A must stop for anyone in Baltimore.

The crab cake was very good! One is enough for two people. It is expensive though, about $25 each. Don’t get the fried clams they where tiny and not juicy. The devil eggs where very good and actually sweet.

We got the lump crab cake platter. It was a decent size, really tasty, I can taste the sweetness from the crab meat. The side dish is ok, not too impressed. It’s overpriced though and it’s not worth that much for one piece of crab cake.

As promised stopped by on August 25. I ordered the "lump" crab cake platter (they're 2 lump & backfin) and 2 additional"uncooked" lumps to try at home. I asked for greens & potato salad for my sides but later discovered they gave me coleslaw instead of greens even though it was marked on the bag (check your food before you leave). From all the review hype, I just knew I got it right this time. Nope, just another average overpriced crab cake. I've come to the conclusion that you really can't trust food reviews because they are based on each individuals taste preference. Speaking of which the crab cake was bland but the sides seasoned well. Conclusion, 3 different Baltimore eateries but the same results, at least for me anyway. I'll try some different places next time. Good luck!
