Waited an hour for this, and let me tell you—the hype is real. Food was amazing. None of what we ordered disappointed. The mussels were so delicious I wanted to try all the flavors! Raw oysters were fresh and had the perfect sweet finish that I love. And don’t get me started on the Rockefeller!! Omg. I know the pasta looks super underwhelming and my initial thought wasn’t positive. But after asking a bit of chili pepper flakes, this turned out great! I can see why this place is the busiest in Canton. Definitely will be back!

Tried the shrimp appetizer, crab cake sandwich, and the seafood club. Everything was so good - the onions that accompanied the shrimp were perfectly cooked and covered in delicious old bay. Really enjoyed the meal but didn’t like the extra 3% charge for using a credit card. It was automatically added to the bill and not disclosed beforehand. I understand businesses need to make ends meet but usually businesses will bake the upped costs into their standard prices or offer a discount for paying with cash instead of a surprise surcharge for paying with card. 3% isn’t much in the scheme of things but it feels like they’re punishing their customers and trying to squeeze out extra money without being upfront. Unfortunate end to a delicious meal.

Do not go here! I visited this location for my birthday on 10/30 in the afternoon, we had major quality issues with the food at the restaurant. We complained to the manager on duty Eddy/Eddie about the soup that came Luke warm but the plate was burning hot. The manager argued that the soup was hot enough. When our food came the salmon was undercooked and so were the lamb chops. They were cool and red/pink in the center. The manager said that they would not remake the food because the chef said that it was cooked perfectly and they will not replace the food because of consumer preferences. I was not aware that it was customer preference to have your food cook thoroughly. He told us that we had to eat the food the way the chef prepared it and there is nothing that he could do. I have never been to a restaurant where they treat their customers this poorly. I will not return to this restaurant again. Which I’m sure that they would appreciate.

Service was great... Friendly, attentive, without being pushy. Thought the vintage decor was fun and warm. The food...hits and misses for sure. Calamari was great, perfectly fried so the squid was soft but not chewy. The bowl of crab chowder was...a cup at bowl prices. If this cup is a bowl, I'm afraid of what the cup is, a thimble? Salads were generous and fresh. The Combo Steamer was a bit of a letdown...the Oysters Rockefeller were... nothing but chopped baked spinach. The crab cluster was anemic with only 3 legs and seemed old and dry. And the main ingredient seemed to be onions more than anything else. For a place that specializes in seafood, I expected more.

The service was great and the food was pretty good. I ordered the bouillabaisse, which was a bit salty, but the cream of crab soup I had was GREAT (also, unlike the menu said, you CAN order it as a cup.) The place took their last order at 10pm, but didn't rush us when we arrived at 9:40pm. They were very polite and accommodating. Will definitely try this place again.

have never been to a restaurant like this. First I ordered a crab soup that is so salty and inedible because it's over seasoned. It is not even warm. Asked the server and to change something, she sent manager over and explained unless something is wrong with the food they cannot take it back. They heated up and added hot water, it taste better but gave me a stomach ache. The soup came when I finished my main course. My Fish sandwich I ordered was supposed to be grilled and I substitute the fries for coleslaw it came out fried and with fries no coleslaw. I ate it and just asked for some coleslaw on the side. The seafood platter was over seasoned again and Five out of the six clams were dead. I didn't want to make a big deal so just told the server and not worry about it. When we asked for the check she says we took off the soup as a courtesy, and when I looked at the check notice there is a 18% gratuity, I don't remember any restaurant does that for party of two. So we asked the server about that as well and she said it's the restaurant rule after 9 PM. And to top it off when we pay for the bill with cash, server came back with our change, they rounded down and not give you the change back. I have never been to a restaurant like this in my life, And I have dined many many restaurants even other countries. Never again

First time visiting, came for Saturday brunch with friends before a Hopkins lacrosse game. Staff are friendly and accommodating. A large group reserved the whole upstairs but we were comfortable in a table near front window. Beer selection is okay, the cocktails ordered by others looked good and everyone enjoyed them. Bloody Mary cocktail each had a slight variation on garnish that looked a bit like a small salad. I ordered crab eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly prepared as you can see in the photo. Potatoes were flavorful and delicious. And well, any time you get a tasty crab cake, it's a pleasure. Overall good experience but want to return and try the full menu.

Great dining experience and very good seafood. It was a lovely day trip sit outdoors. Our server was energetic and helpful. Both of our entrees came out excellent. The crushes were particularly wonderful.

Love the ambience and the staff but I'm not a fan of their food really. This is just IMO. For me it's weird that they serve the cold rice for a Poke (they confirmed the rice was supposed to be cold). They heated up for me but still. The MD soup was just okay. The Shepherd pie was something I didn't expect. It's not bad but it's not good.

Was treated here for Mother’s Day meal by my amazing husband before a concert. It was very busy as you could imagine. We parked on the street and proceeded to the restaurant for our 5:30 reservations. The hostess informed us that there was a wait until a server arrived for her shift. I would say we waited about 15 minutes. We decided to stick it out. Many came in with and without reservations and left because of the demand and wait. There was indoor, bar and outside seating available. We were eventually seated on the second floor of the restaurant and quickly we devised a plan to review the menu and get ready to order drinks, apps and food when the waitress came to grab drink orders. This strategy was a success. Ordered 2 drinks each and ALL of our food options. - The Crush drink was tasty and gets watered down pretty fast because of the ice. - Sangria tart and fruity - Wings as expected. Yummy. - Crab dip was good but would have preferred it a bit hotter in temp. - Lobster roll was decent with a fair amount of lobster throughout. - Shrimp and fries were tasty - fried as expected. We had to give the waiters and waitresses a lot of credit as the kitchen was located on the second floor near where we were seated and we watched them come up and down the stairs for their orders several times while we were there! They are true rockstar employees.

I just enjoyed the best Seafood Chowder. It was fantastic.. Ordered fish & chips. Fish was very good. Fries were very good as well. Now, the cole slaw is a different matter. There was Way too much mayo in the cole slaw. One must change the ingredients with the cabbage. And I eat mayo with my French fries..

Mama's on the Half Shell hit the Spot! The ambiance is wonderfully pub-like, and I enjoyed every bite! We got the Crab dip, which my two year old loved! Loved how much crab was in it and that it's served in a bread bowl! Extra yum! We also got the Steamed mussels in Old-Bay Butter, which were wonderful! Full of flavor (love that old bay)! Great representation of Baltimore Flavors. We got the fried jumbo shrimp with fries and Cole slaw, which were huge and tasted great! I also got some raw East Coast Oysters, I had to while I was here! Small but flavorful! Last but definitely not least were the mini crab cakes PACKED with lump crab meat! Delicious and just what I wanted! So happy with this meal!

The description says that this is an upscale restaurant without the upscale prices. That is half true. The esthetics of the restaurant were amazing, very classy, and upscale-ish. The prices of the food were fair but somehow didn't seem to match the atmosphere of the restaurant. I ordered the lollipop lamb chops with whipped potatoes and asparagus for my main course. And, the fried calamari for starters. Although the food was good, it's safe to say that the chefs aren't classically trained in fine dining. The waiter was attentive but not too friendly. Overall, I was satisfied.

We're glad we stopped into Baltimore on our way back north from a vacation and found Mama's. This was midday on a sweltering Saturday afternoon. 4 hours of driving, we sat outside because we had our puppy with us. Otherwise, we would have enjoyed the air conditioning and atmosphere of the indoor bar. Despite the heat, the maitre d, server, and other staff were highly attentive, quick and very friendly. We were even given an icy virgin crush, to take the edge off the heat. Thank you so much! Our dog was served a bowl of water of her own. I ordered the crab club sandwich which was humongous. Three layers, with shrimp salad. Salad that was not overly "mayonnaisey", a layer of crab cake and a layer of thick cut bacon. Lettuce and tomato on all layers provided more flavor and crunch. After eating about a quarter of the sandwich, I discarded most of the bread in favor of tasting the flavors of the shrimp, crab and bacon. The sandwich was very good but I may have enjoyed the crab cake more had I ordered it as a solo star of the sandwich. Maybe next time. If you want a sandwich loaded with goodies, order this. If you want to test out the crab cake, order it as a sandwich up its own or the entree. The fries were delicious. My husband ordered a oyster cool boy which he gobbled up happily along with his crab chowder. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly. As a bonus, it's across the street from a fantastic pie and coffee place. Sweet neighborhood too.

It was my first time at Mama’s On the Half Shell for dinner, and I was so looking forward to try the crab soup. Other than the soup was too spice—which for me it is to disguise of a not well seasoned dish specially a seafood. I ate a spinach salad and it was somewhat ‘okay.’ The waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. Unaware of the reasons the dishes I order were not very good, in contrast to other people’s review, I suggest to hire a better cook if it is what this restaurant needs to do.

Stopped in for brunch last weekend with friends and what a find. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are ginormous and everything we ordered was the great and meant for sharing. The tuna tartare and crab dip are must tries. We also had the crab soup, beer muscles, and seafood club that’s big enough for 2-3 people to share.

The oysters are amazing here. Good selection and well cleaned. Their appetizers were also very good and great portion. Their entrees are a bit lackluster though. I'd recommended their oysters, drinks, and appetizers here only.

This place is very cool inside and has an excellent vibe. We stopped in for lunch but it feels like it would be cool to hang out at night here. The staff was great and very friendly. The bartender waited on us and picked up we were visiting and started offering up good suggestions. The cocktails were great. For food, we tried the grilled oysters, great! The grouper sandwich loved it but could have used a little more salt or a good spice, the oyster po boy, good, again a little underwhelming on the flavor. Finally the seafood club. This is a huge sandwich but again just a little underwhelming, but still good. Overall, we really liked the place and would give it another shot. The kitchen may have had an off day. That's not to say it wasn't good, we ate everything 😋 and enjoyed our visit

This is my second time visiting mamas on the half show. The food is definitely a step above, then what else is around in the area. I called to make a reservation for my family and was greeted by the hostess Tatiana. She had a wonderful energy to her, which made our dining experience, much more enjoyable. Be prepared to spend a decent amount of money to eat here, but you should expect high-quality service.

Today my wife took ne to mama's for some seafood... because we went so early, they had a limited menu which was fine.... our server anthony was awesome!!!... he gave great suggestions and his vibe made the experience better... my wife had to send her first plate back because of the salt but the manager came out and was very accomidating... he did a good job making it right and brought her an alternative selection... the food was delicious. See attached.... def a place to come have good food and good vibes!!

First time visiting this restaurant and had a good time. The food and drinks were delicious! I love how the give a flavor description of the different types of oysters on the menu (I've never seen this before - I'm from NYC). I can't remember the name of the oysters I ordered but they were sweet and delicious. Next time I get a chance to visit, I will sit inside to experience the ambiance.

Food and patio were nice. The service was friendly but a little slow. We ordered the cream of crab soup and shrimp and oyster Po Boy. My soup came out luke warm, so I had asked them to warm it up. They did, but when they brought it back to me, all of the lump crab was missing from the topping. It also had a lot of onions in it. Overall good experience, and we'll give them another try sometime.
