Wow! One of the best all around dining experiences I have had in years! The food, service, and ambiance was outstanding. Our server, Clay was fantastic... attentive but not hovering. Every course was delicious and innovative. We ate in the courtyard which was romantic (nice, since we were celebrating our 32d anniversary). We will definitely be going back!!!

High end restaurant with polite servers. Calm and aesthetically appealing ambiance. The cocktails were delicious. Small serving sizes with interesting flavors. Tried the bass and scallops.  Great presentation of main course! Visited for a birthday celebration. Limited dessert options with no celebratory effort (i.e. no candles, plate calligraphy, etc).

The Oysters were very good, the Mushroom Tartine was to die for, the Venison Loin was spectacular and the Beef Loin was unbelievable. Great food and drinks in a private dining area in the city.

My girlfriends and I had a great dinner here the other night. I am a very picky eater, but I decided to try "something new" so we order the Raw & Shellfish platter and from someone who would never eat raw fish or oysters, I have to say everything in the platter was amazing! I ordered a cocktail, the steak for dinner, and the cheesecake for dessert: all were delicious. The service was fantastic! I will definetly be back.

This is one of the best restaurants that I've been to in baltimore. This place is incredibly upscale. It's the type of place that has multiple $3000+ bottles of wine in their wine binder. They do the thing that fancy restaurants do of charging a lot of money and then giving you a little food (for certain dishes). This was the case for at least the venison. I didn't order that myself but the person I was with really loved it. It is somewhat ridiculous but is an important reminder to us Americans who usually believe that more is better. It's a good reminder to savor your food and eat slowly. It's in the basement / ground floor of the Ivy hotel. In terms of the atmosphere, it's furnished quite nicely. The only problem was that the bartender and servers were talking quite loudly at the bar and the place isn't so big.

Easily one of the greatest dining experiences of my entire life. The wine cellar was majestic. It was something right out of a novel. The lighting, the decor, the amazing attentive staff, there was no complaints whatsoever from my 4 person party. We all were absolutely thrilled with how we were treated. I think the manager Maureen was super hospitable. She was so informative about the menu, and she came over a few times to check on how we were doing. I ordered duck breasts, my wife pork chops, and I don't think we've had either dish prepared anywhere in our life better than they were prepared on this evening. The chef Scott Bacon made a visit to our table as well, along with one of the cooks Devin, and it was absolutely a pleasure. I've never been treated this nicely and would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and their top tier service to anyone who wants to ask. Magdalena lives up to and surpasses any review I can give here. I feel like I need more stars, because 5 just isn't enough 🤷🏿‍♂️

Our experience at Magdalena was mixed. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately and they offered to check our coats on the way to the table. We were seated in a smaller room down the hall from the main dining room. In that room was one large party who were finishing up with their entrees when we arrived and one couple. The large party had two children with them around age 8. The whole party was loud, we had to nearly shout to hear each other and I could barely hear the waitress over the noise they were making. At times the children were jumping on the booth, neither were wearing shoes, and they had an ipad that they were playing games on and shouting about their successes and failures. To say this ruined our experience is an understatement. Our waitress was very sweet and we enjoyed her immensely. The rest of the service was amazing. The couple of drinks we ordered were really good. We ordered the ribeye for two only to be told a few minutes later that they were out of it. We got the scallops and the duck entrees instead. The duck was easily one of the best duck dishes I've ever had. It was salty, crispy, and surrounded in a slightly sweet sauce that paired very well. We ordered desserts, the banana boat and turnovers were a highlight, I can't recommend the sticky toffee pudding, it was dry and overly sweet, overall it was okay. We were finishing up dessert as the large party left. So we didn't get to enjoy the quiet very long. Restaurants like this should not allow children and the large party was loud on their own kids or no kids should have been seated in this room by themselves. The ambiance in the rest of the restaurant was pleasant and had a really nice buzz about the dining room. I am not sure if we will come back, the food was good but I would hate to spend ~$100 per person to have to shout at each other as if we were at a mall food court.

Came here for date night and was not disappointed. It was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal, our server was attentive and fun to talk to, and the atmosphere was intimate but comfortable. Will definitely be coming back again. If you're thinking about trying this place out don't think just do it.

The entire experience invokes happiness and pleases all of my senses. The free valet parking, charming host, and ambiance throughout the venue are lovely. My favorite space is the courtyard, where the wall is adorned with ivy. The entire staff is knowledgeable about the menu and where every item is sourced. Thus far, my favorite meal is the catfish, but Chef Scott is always preparing something new with our tastebuds and ecosystem in mind.

Dotty, the server was rude and hardly ever refilled our drinks. Three tables came and went before our food was even out. For how much this restaurant charges, you'd expect service to be better. Food was alright too. Apart from the hazelnut panna cotta everything was slightly salty, but still alright. My friend's and my experience there was ruined by the service more than anything so I may be harsher than I should be. Overall wouldn't recommend going there, but many others like it, so it may be worth a shot.

From the moment we stepped out the car what an amazing experience! The service provided by the Valet,JR the bartender, Greeters, Hostess Jeyna and the amazing dinner prepared by Chef Bacon was awesome. Thank you Ms Jenelle for the awesome tour and the knowledge you have of the Beautiful Ivy Hotel 😊. We look forward to dining with everyone again very soon.

Andrew was an incredible host and treated us so kindly while celebrating a birthday. We were attracted to their cocktails and a friend highly recommended we make a reservation to experience the ambiance and spectacular food. We loved the appetizer plates we ordered and everything is presented beautifully. The cocktails are truly stars of the show and their Uncle Nearest cocktail with a duck fat wash cannot be overlooked. Next time we visit we will stay at the Ivy upstairs and get a group together for dinner in their private wine cellar room. Magdalena's is a must visit when you're in Baltimore!

One of the top five restaurant experiences of my entire lifetime. The flavors are inventive and worth every single dollar. 10 stars to the Magdalena team! You’re incredibly gifted! Thank you so much for sharing your magic with Baltimore.

Really excited for a great dinner. Pulled up to the bar at 6 pm. Sat down at 6.40, Meal served at 8.25. Have no idea what happened to our food, but a bit of a bummer. Order was two burgers, scallops and an appetizer shrimp. Food was fine, but not worth the wait. Asked for entrees to be comped and they were, but unfortunately a disappointing experience. Perhaps a Tuesday and an off night, but a complete bummer, illustrated by the fact this is the first restaurant review I have ever written. Best part of the evening was our night cap at the bar at the Prime Rib. Reading all of the other positive review seems like we just hit them on a bad night.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last night and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. We ordered the mushroom tartine for an appetizer which was absolutely delicious! For my entree I had the venison loin which was so tender and flavorful, my boyfriend received the wagyu burger which was in fact delicious as well. We finished off our lovely night with an affogato and a delicious piece of apple cake. The staff was amazing and attentive and the ambiance of the restaraunt was so comforting. Will definitely be visiting again!

The dining experience was enjoyable. The homemade focaccia bread was buttery but was a bit salty. There were lots of alcoholic choices, however, only two mocktails, so the menu was lacking there. I had the blue catfish which was silky smooth and delicious. The strawberry cheesecake was truly divine! Since their menu is seasonal, I may come back in the fall and see what’s new.

Our server Andrew is amazing, courteous and professional! He was really helpful and insightful with guiding us through the menu! Props to him, I’d definitely give him more than just five stars. The appetizers and entrees are all phenomenal with so much variety! I can’t recommend this place enough!

Magdalena’s ambience was amazing and definitely a romantic spot. The service was great, and staff were attentive and kind! Unfortunately, The food and drinks were overpriced and every dish was seasoned with an exorbitant amount of salt. My tongue literally recoiled because of the salt levels on not just the steak, the vegetables, but even on the bread. It’s so sad because I really wanted to like this place, but I can’t reconcile the cost with the quality of food. Our steak was also extremely tough despite being cooked medium rare.
