I am french and this is the BEST french restaurant in the state. The staff is amazing ,some of them are real french people and the chef is a magician. No waiting time for me at all. Everyone in the restaurant looked happy, including the staff. I missed home and it was definitely the place to be

Petit Louis is one of the gems of Baltimore. Every appetizer and entree I've had here absolutely slaps and can hold its own against some of the best restaurants in the country. Dishes are not overly complicated and every component had purpose on the plate and is executed with perfection. Duck confit, beet salad, and braised veal are some of the best hitting dishes to our palates that we've ever had. 🤯 I lick my plates here with little to no shame, it's honestly that good. Only caveat is that I haven't been as blown away by the desserts as much as the appetizers, so I skew towards indulging in their apps. If you haven't been to Petit Louis, you need to fix that A 👏 S 👏 A 👏 P 👏. Edit: I really love how flavorful yet refreshing their vichyssoise is as well. Sweetbreads are really well done, but the plate was very, very rich on the palate. My tongue needed acid or something to brighten the bites.

Nice place and plenty of dishes to choose from. Nice decor with touch of history and time . Very nice gentry. Full of energy but the service is full of English rather than French style . Waitresses have troubles pronouncing French dish by name . Food is good but not up to 5 star . Silverware were obsolete and not very shiny. Overall I am satisfied and recommend to everyone and families with mature children.

My absolute favorite restaurant. The most consistent experience you can have in Baltimore. Escargot, steak frites, cucumber salad are my big favorites. And martinis poured table side. The maître de Patrick (he's from Lyon, France) makes everyone feel at home.

Absolutely delicious French cuisine. Our server was a polite and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy and romantic and everything felt authentic. The butternut squash soup was perfect, the chicken was so tender and juicy, with perfectly caramelized onion and carrots and the fries were salty, crispy and soft.

Nice French spot. Good food, generally tasty. Escargot had a funny sour note in the butter. Not pretentious. Extensive French wine list. Wish the profiteroles had Chantilly inside instead of ice cream.

Soups are fantastic, and other brunch foods were pretty good, too. Service was also good. The restaurant itself is a little crammed.

Old school Baltimore restaurant which gets everything right from the food to service. Went for brunch at each had a French Onion Soup then split the Croquet Monsieur. Yum!

The food was fantastic. The duck breast, the lamb steak, and escargot were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The staff are attentive and all work together to ensure you're taken care of. They have an extensive wine list broken down by region which is lovely. The restaurant is loud with everyone talking so keep that in mind.

Fantastic experience at Petit LB today. Great service. Great food. Their coffee is SOOOOOO good. Held a business meeting here today and will definitely be back again! GREAT PLACE ALL AROUND.

While the service and atmosphere were great, the food itself was alright. The quiche and sandwiches were too greasy, and I was slightly disappointed. Outdoor seating is also available, and the location is dog friendly. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and nice.

Was my first time to this charming French restaurant. The food and service were wonderful. Started with the mussels and fries with lots of bread to sop the delicious broth and then had the Croque Monsieur. Great wine and cocktail list. Easy to see why this place was packed even on a Monday night.

What an excellent and memorable meal... shame on me for living in Baltimore for so long and somehow never dining here until now! Everything we ordered was so perfectly prepared, presented and delicious, the service was stellar, and I loved the cozy French bistro atmosphere on a cold winter night. I'll be coming back just for the incredible French Onion Soup alone (but look forward to trying some of the other dishes too!)

Went for Restaurant week (2024) and they had great offerings and good wine pairings. All the dishes were tasty with special acknowledgement to the Beef Bourginion. The Basque cheesecake was wonderful also

I had a surprisingly disappointing dining experience during Baltimore Restaurant Week recently. I had never eaten here and was excited to finally try it. I ordered the Bronzino which sounded amazing. Maybe because it was restaurant week and they were trying to accommodate a large number of people, but the plate was very unappetizing to look at. The spinach looked like it had been thrown on the plate. The fillet was very thin. The skin on the fillet was wimpy. The mustard was a blob on the plate. It would have been better if the skin was taken off or crisped and the fillet was thicker. The salad I had as my first course tasted good but was way over-salted. The cheesecake I had for dessert was just okay. Seemed a bit burned to me. If I go back, it won’t be during Restaurant Week. I’ll see if the food is better then.

I had a great experience at Petit Louis Bistro. My partner and I booked a table in the patio to celebrate her birthday. The food was amazing, from the appetizer (we ordered the crunchy eggplant) to desert (profiteroles). The magret was perfect, I highly recommend it! Service is also a high, and they even gifted us two glasses of sparkling wine to pair with profiteroles. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate!

Wonderful restaurant. Unfortunately there were a few bumps in service. Our bottles of wine did not come until we were midway through our entree. The food taste and quality was excellent. Atmosphere: 4 a bit loud but a very cozy feel Food: 4 excellent quality Service: 3 lots of waiting for drinks and wine. Value: (cost vs. the experience): 3

Lovely ambiance. They are dog-friendly (you sit outside on the patio which is on the parking lot but they do well with building ambiance regardless with the tent.) The best French fries in the world. Delicious mashed potatoes and green beans. My only qualm is the lack of vegetarian options (it’s a French restaurant, I know). They have a delicious chickpea dish I’ve enjoyed in the past. If the soups didn’t use chicken stock sometimes, I would be truly thrilled so I could have some *good soup*. Service is very personable. The whole staff are young and eager to provide great service. The experience is fancy but not stuffy, which is perfect for me. If you are more serious, they will match your vibe, don’t worry.

The food wasn't that great as expected. Service and atmosphere are unforgettable. However, for set of 3 dishes we got really small portions. We left hungry.

Been coming here for years and it’s consistently outstanding. First time in a couple years and the steak knives are amazing! Feels like a finely crafted dagger or dearth, and looks like the knife my pappy used to gut fish with. I will be coming back soon to wield this blade. About to eat the veal now, had to write a review between courses

For starters we had the French onion soup, way too much bread but incredible flavor, and the escargot, delicious, decadent and overall wonderful! The bread and butter served were mediocre. The butter had no salt but that was quickly fixed and the bread was cold. The Coq au Vin and duck confit... Incredible! The Crème brûlée, and lemon tart were wonderful but, the Pot de crème was life changing! Service was on point too. Such a great night.

This is the only meal out of the house that we’ve had that has been worth it in the last two years. The service was impeccable. The food was cooked to perfection. It’s an adorable Baltimore gem that transports you to Rue de Roland. We will absolutely be coming back as often as the pocketbook will allow.
