This place was amazing. It's a little restaurant within the hotel. The Chana Masala with rice and creamed spinach was absolute divine perfection. The garlic naan and the roti were terrifically delicious. The mango lassi was heavenly. The great thing about the naan, too, was that it stayed soft and doughy throughout dinner and even when it became leftovers after taking some more home. Many times, I've had naan that gets all crispy in the middle, but this was great. Seriously, everything I ordered was phenomenal. The price of the Chana Masala was a bit high end, however. $22.95 for the dish, served in healthy portions. It was very well presented on the plate, so everything felt more upscale. However, Chana Masala is a dish one make at home well, too, and for that price, it's high. Flavor wise, though, I admit, I would not have been able to replicate the quality. The view was also gorgeous. We sat outside with a view of the lawn, the buildings nearby, and sunset. Nicely atmospheric. Small table with 4 of us, which we were able to get without making a reservation. The wait staff was attentive, so no one ever felt neglected. Overall, I thought this place, despite the prices, was probably the best Indian food I might've ever had so far....

Lovely Indian restaurant with friendly staff, a pleasant slightly upscale atmosphere and delicious food. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, great flavors. Ordered soups (the mulligatawny was super good and spicy, and the butternut soup was tasty), breads (naans, papadam) and several vegetarian entrees, and it was all great. Staff and owner are delightful. Will be back

One of the most careless restaurants I’ve ever seen. They’re on ubereats. Because of good taste I’ve ordered a few times from them. They don’t respect the extra instructions like utensils or extra salt etc. how can you provide food to customer without even a packet of basic spoon knife and a tissue? Amazingly, they do this on repeat. Food spills over due to poor packing. No salt in the food. And they get away with the money. Not recommended. Every time I have to reach out to Uber for help. Every item spills over the other.

the garden setting is just beautiful esp before sunset. waiter is very good about checking on you. my dinner of chicken with two sides, soda and cardamom ice cream came to $42. they give you a lot of meat and it is well marinated and not dry. the base spice level is mild but if ask for spicy the accompanying sauce will add heat. very nice meal overall. felt socially distanced as well. getting in is a little complicated because you have to be buzzed in using the side entrance.

I usually go here for the Sunday brunch with Mimosas, Screwdrivers and Bloody Marys and a classic buffet line plus desserts, but à la carte is extensive and well executed. If you ask for “spicy”, it will be! The star of the show continues to be the great rooms adjoining the garden terrace (back wall opens in summer!) and gas fireplaces (lit in winter). Very atmospheric.

Wonderful and historic setting. Extremely professional staff. The appetizers (the sample platter) was absolutely delicious. Maybe the best I've had. When the entrees arrived, the dishes were beautiful and the portions were great, but they were very under seasoned. The spice levels were milder than expected as well. A tad bit disappointing, seeing as how the appetizers were soooo great. Knowing that a chef isn't always performing at their best, I will definitely give them another try.

We had a group of 4 people come in. It was pretty close to closing time, so I believe we were the only people in the restaurant. Service was very professional and accommodating; they kindly gave us a seat near the fireplace, given that it was quite chilly outside that night. We got the malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, and paneer tikka masala dishes, if I'm remembering correctly (it's been a few months since our visit). All of the dishes were delicious. They were well seasoned, creamy, aromatic, and presented nicely. The naan's we ordered came in a basket with linen cloth. Each curry came with a serving of rice, so keep this in mind if you're looking for a light meal. They will tell you this when taking your order. I would definitely visit again, but the prices were quite high for the quantity and amount of food served. Rice tends to be pretty cheap, so it seems the entrees themselves were slightly overpriced. If you're looking for something similar for less, consider Sakoon on St. Paul St. This is still a very good visit though, especially for the atmosphere and building.

The best Indian food I've ever had! The black dal was incredible. I asked for medium spiciness and it was fairly hot, I was very happy! The cauliflower appetizer, samosas, and filo dough appetizer were all really delicious. I especially liked the cauliflower.

Great place for brunch, lots of options and always really tasty. It is all Indian fare, so if you're expecting chicken fingers or other American dishes on the buffet, you won't find it. Staff is super friendly and the drinks flow freely

Paneer tikka masala, great taste, with the sweetness and soft paneer in the creamy sauce. Mango lassi is thick (I like it) and I like how it was mixed with ground spices. Candelight dinner.

Went here last night for Valentine's Day with my date. Was pretty busy, but did get seated in a timely manner. The food and service was pretty good, with the exception of my date not getting something that they requested with their meal. Since it was busy, it did take longer for our food to come out, and we did not get the seating that I requested, which was by the fireplace. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the taste of the food and the ambience makes up for it. Overall, I do see myself going back again.

The staff was very friendly. We ordered delivery. The food is good, but very sweet. We got Tikka masala, Korma shama, the appetizer platter, and Tikka Murgh. This was the sweetest version of our main courses we have ever had. The appetizers themselves were good, and not too sweet, but all the dipping sauces were very sweet. Some of them were quite interesting, but it would have been nice to have more spice overall and less sugar. Some may like this, and that's fine, but too sweet for our preference.

Lovely setting, great service. Food was among the better Indian we've had in the area. It's not Rasika but then again few restaurants are. It is expensive for what it is--probably double in cost compared your average Indian restaurant. I'd need to go several more times before deciding whether the quality of the food merits the price. But as I said it is quite good and we had a lovely time.

This place is a little bit hard to find since it’s in the apartments building without its own front entrance. The staff is friendly and they offer a 15% student discount. I came here on weekends to enjoy the buffet. The buffer provide lamb, chicken, fish, desserts and different types of fried Indian snacks, along with salads. If you’re interested in Indian food or wanna try different Indian cuisines, I would recommend you to try their buffet since they provide almost all common Indian foods here.

Fantastic restaurant. Service is amazing, you feel like you could be in someone's home. The food is great! My partner loves spice, but I do not, and both dishes were to our liking. The staff found out toward the end of the evening it was my partner's birthday, they gave us a little cake treat and gift card for our next visit! I would highly recommend this restaurant a hidden gem. Beautiful inside, lovely decor. Can't wait to return!

The Ambassador has become our go-to spot for fine, authentic Indian cuisine. It's definitely worth the 40-minute drive into Baltimore City on a Saturday! Lecter, our server, is extremely personable, kind, and patient. Food is fresh, colorful, and tasty. Ambiance is about as good as it gets for an old-world East Asian restaurant vibe. The colors, aromas, and decor all meld into one harmonious Indian experience. Have been here many times and will continue.

It was a bit pricier than what I’m used to paying for a meal. But the ambiance and the service alone is well worth it. I took my friend for her birthday and it was the 3 of us. Her and I didn’t like our meals. It wasn’t bad just had a flavor we weren’t used to. The waitress. I forget her name. Young lady I think her name starts with an S. Asked if we liked the food and we were honest. We said no and explained and left it at that. I was still going to pay for the meals. I wasn’t asking for a refund or anything. She went and advised the head waiter and he said wanted to correct the issue and insisted we order something else so we ordered what my husband had ordered because his was really good. I truly appreciate the customer service and we will be returning. Thank you again to the staff. Great service

We went for a little brunch and the food was really good!! The chicken tiki Marsala was delicious! The chili chicken was also really good! I love how they had everything laid out buffet style including the drinks. It was really convenient and a wonderful way to try everything that we wanted to! The service was lacking though, there were multiple times where we couldn’t find any employees, and there was even a group that left after waiting almost 10 min to get seated. So great food! But the service has to be improved. But I definitely recommend if you’re craving some good Indian!

We dined at the Ambassador Dining Room for the first time last weekend. The staff was so helpful, they even came out to help us find the front door (haha we were a little lost). The staff was so helpful in recommending dishes. I had the chicken madras (curry) which was fantastic! My husband had the Tikka Masala which is his go-to but said it was one of the best he's had. The presentation of the food is spectacular and the atmosphere if you can dine on the patio in the nice weather like we did, can't be beat. We can't wait to go back to try their brunch!

Hidden gem (literally tucked away inside an apartment building with minimal signage) , but we’ll known to Hopkins folk. Every dish was prepared brilliantly albeit exceptionally pricey. Plates were served as-ordered per-person which I’d wished was disclosed, not like typical shareable Indian dishes, but our party of twelve enjoyed their dishes. Service was good but could have been much much better, more attentive, more engaging, especially given the price. Even with that oversight, the site itself is just lovely outside next to a garden space.

The ambience of this place is very classic. I enjoyed sitting in the patio room near the fireplace. I thought the naan and gulab jamun could have been brought to the table warmer, but my main entree was. I’ve been to a few local Indian cuisines and was always underwhelmed by the main dish. I thought the palak paneer was seasoned to my preference without being overburdened by the spice. The server was also very attentive. Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back for a second visit.
