I haven't had Poyoteca in YEARS and boy, was I missing it! I loved going to their old location (aka Chicken Rico), and it was super good then, still super good now! Their sides are delicious, but the roast chicken is spiced to PERFECTION! It's a great option for the price point. They give you a LOT of food. We tried the half chicken, house salad, mac and cheese, corn salsa, pasta salad, fried rice, and plantains. The fried rice is my absolute favorite, but everything else was also very fresh! I will say that it leans a little salty for my preference, but I always share so it's not a huge issue. Since I remembered they're closer to my work, we have visited a couple of times for lunch and dinner (take out). Service is always fast and the workers are always nice and efficient. Restaurant feels clean and is set up so you can easily grab and go.

I absolutely loved my power plant bowl. The dressings were served on the side. If the dark green one is guacamole, it is way too spicy for me. However, the other two dressings were very good. My dining partner had the chicken burrito with yucca fries, and he absolutely loved it. I wish they had one of these in New Jersey where I live.

Delicious! Everything here was A+ from their sides to their desserts. This was my first time and I pretty much sampled all of the sides. I would've bought more too if my stomach was big enough. If you like want mac n' cheese that tastes like it was made in the south, sweet plantain, moist chicken, or to try something new like tres leches cake then you'll like it here. P.S. If you get the mac n cheese you might need to add a lil salt.

Yeah, this place is pretty good. Had a veggie burrito. All veggies were fresh af and the jalapeño sauce seemed like it was made that day

The food was amazingly good and the staff friendly. The prices were good and portions plenty. The only bad thing was the cleanliness of place was not great but not terrible either but could use a little work. All else made up for it though and worth the quick stop

I ordered the brisket tacos and my two sisters ordered the chicken with side dishes. We were dining- in. I was talking about how tender the brisket was and they about how well the seasonings on the chicken tasted. We all agreed that the side dishes were okay. Between us we had, carrots with brussell sprouts, green beans, mac/ cheese and mashed potatoes/gravy. All was going well UNTIL we saw a mouse running around the dining room. We packed up the food, threw it away and left. It was so disappointing.

Oh, we have this style in Richmond VA. Peruvian style charcoal chicken is the best. Sometimes it can be a little heavy on salt but not here! Super tasty, nice flavors, and some charring. Just delicious. The plantains were great, the Mac was decent, and the black beans were standard. We really enjoyed our delivery.

I had a great experience here! The staff was friendly. There was plenty of seating and nice windows to look at the inner harbor. Located near plenty of public transit. If your looking for a chill place to have lunch or dinner I would highly recommend. I got Plantains and the Arroz Chanda Pollo Bowl. It is customizable which I love and the flavor was great. I wasn’t able to finish all of it so I got it to go and ate some later. Even with reheating it later that night it still tasted really good. I can’t wait to go back and try out some other items! One small retraction is that they are a bit pricey, I spent $21 for these two things, I think $15 would have been a better price point but besides that, a great experience overall.

Generous portion sizes, good for the price. Vegetarian options are clearly labeled and there’s a good amount of them. The empanadas were slightly too salty for my liking but tasted good nonetheless. My friend got a bowl that he liked and filled us up. I will come back if I’m in the area again. Love the sauce station.

Chicken Rico’s rebrand looks great! Modern asthmatic, continued good food and quantity with some enhancements, but a bit on the pricey side.

Delicious food, great service, quick but hearty. The gravy with the mashed potatoes was excellent. Yucca fries were stellar. We fed 12 people on the family meal and two chicken halves plus the sides. Highly recommend.

It was okay. The mac & cheese was surprisingly decent. The potato salad, not so much but I can deal with that. I would order again. I used UberEats and the delivery time was pretty quick.

The best rotisserie chicken I’ve had my whole life. It was sooooooo good. I had a quarter chicken and was unable to finish it which made me mad. It was scrumptious. And the brussel sprouts were phenomenal too. Can’t wait to come back to the area to eat here again.

I’ve got this $4.99 surprise bag from Too Good To Go at Poyoteca. It has a quarter chicken and two sides, also two sauces. Hot and fresh. We’ll be back 😊

This has to be one of the best places in the area for some amazing Peruvian chicken. My family and I had the family combo which is enough for a family of 6 easy. The food is great, flavors are spot on but for anyone who is not familiar with Peruvian mash potatoes these are not your typical mash potatoes, but they are great. They have an excellent choice of sides and they were all great. Anyone stopping by who loves flan must try their flan. The music and the decor was also incredible and really nostalgic.

Picked up a surprise bag at the end of the day from Poyoteca via the Too Good to Go app and we were not disappointed! The chicken and sauces were delicious as were the rice and corn salsa. Staff was nice and helped us quickly. Will definitely be back!

Delicious!! Highly, highly recommend. We visited the Children’s Museum nearby and decided to grab lunch here and I’m so glad we did. Everything about the food was so good, the restaurant seemed clean, there was plenty of seating available, and the service was fantastic. We will absolutely return if we are in the area again.

Rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavored well throughout. One of their sauce machines malfunctioned on me, but the staff were quick to address the matter. They speak Spanish there as well as needed. Their other options looked yummy too!

I did a take out service. My package was ready and hot. There is a temporary parking area front of the store. I wasn't prefering this location due to limited parking availability.( At least from the map it looked so. ) But I was able to pick it up after temporary parking my car. The food was healthy and delicous.

What a great plate of food! Everything we had was delicious and portions were generous. Fast and friendly service. Perfect place to stop for dinner before a show at Soundstage or for a quick lunch.

This is my first time trying Peruvian foods and I must say I enjoyed it. I had the Poyoteca (Half Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. Im not a fan of the Choclo Sweet Corn. Its served cold & has raw onions in it. But tge chicken & Potatoes were great! Also the Maracuya Passion Fruit drink was delicious! Will try a new dish

Decided to give this restaurant a try. I had the fried rice & quarter dark meat, with carrots & brussel sprouts. The fried rice had chicken in, it which was dry. I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and carrots. The chicken was ok. I honestly prefer Peri Peri

The food was so darned good but a little odd that everyone was being served in togo boxes

  • 3/5 Derrick P. 1 year ago on Google
Wasn't bad. I ordered the quarter dark chicken, but there was a lot of fat on my order, so I had to toss much of it. The fries were very good, and so was the salad, but overall I could take it or leave it....

Food is pretty good. Side dish green beans are the best. Chicken is going well done. Chicken with their house sauces is really good. Not the beat fried rice.

We ordered the chicken saltado bowl and the Asado bowl and both were delicious!! The chicken was very tender and I thought it was just a tad sweet for me but acceptable! The beef brisket in the Asado bowl was super tender. They gave us knives but they weren't needed! It was just that soft! It was very flavorful as well. I like how everything in the bowl complemented each other so well. I never liked soaked up fries but the ones in the saltado bowl amazed me! The only thing I would comment on is that we felt the rice were a bit undercooked. It was a bit difficult to eat. Other than that, we hope to return the next time we visit Baltimore again! And hope the rice would be more cooked!
