The portion sizes are good but the taste is never the same twice which is disappointing. Sometimes you can get dry chicken, sometimes perfect. Today I ordered a chicken cheesesteak as a wrap. It comes with fries. I usually LOVE the fries. Today I could not enjoy them. They were so full of pepper it was unbearable. The wrap was peppery too. I had to decide eat the wrap or the fries. I couldn't tolerate the pepper from both. I actually tried wiping the pepper off the fries just so could eat a few. Also the time varies when ordering for pickup. Usually if they say 10-15 minutes that means 20-25. Today I was told 20 minutes and was thinking wow. I go over (just across the street from job) in 20 minutes and surprisingly my food was ready. I wondered how long it had been ready because the fries were almost cold. I usually like this place and wish it could get 5 stars but the flavor of the same item is not consistent. The shrimp salad is the only thing that stays the same......watery and lacking of any shrimp to speak of. Ordered twice and learned my lesson.....never again.

This place really is amazing. The staff seems happy and well trained. The owner is a great man and is always very professional and fair with people. This is a baltimore staple and is worth checking out any time of the day. Lunch is good and dinner is even better. Wines galore and plenty of good vibes all day long.

Since the place is closed, AND therefore, has blocked access to our patio, here at Merritt, I detest the owners of this restaurant. Why not just vacate, or open for a few hours on evenings & weekends...or allow another business to take over that space? #Plates sucks...COME ON, already!

I have tried placing an order here through DoorDash on two separate occasions over the past few months and the order was accepted but never confirmed. I tried calling the number listed, but I got a message saying this number was not in service. I do believe that this place is closed.

Cool spot in the Merritt gym. You don't need a membership to go there. The food is amazing. Great Greek fusion food. Very flavorful. Awesome beer list. It's definitely a hidden gem. In a gym. No pun intended. The also do a fantastic job catering. Best kept secret!

I can't say enough about Plates Restaurant! When we have guests visiting our Mt. Vernon offices, we always try to make it to Plates. Aside from being an awesome Greek-Mediterranean-American-Fusion menu, their lamb burger is OFF THE HOOK! The wait staff is always incredibly courteous and hospitable, and Valanti is the best owner/host - you know you'll get more than amazing food when he's in! Great conversation, too! :)

Worst restaurant experience of my life! Visited the location on 9/25 around 1:30pm with a colleague. Informed the waiter that we were waiting for a third. It took a ridiculous amount of time to first be served water, cleaning products were left at the table, we had to ask a number of times for a menu, we were never asked if we wanted anything other than water or if we wanted to order appetizers while we waited. We then waited a ridiculous amount of time to put our order in...to the point where we saw people who’d come in at the same time as our third actually being served. When I finally got the waiters attention and tried to explain our aggravation his response was “I already know how this is going to go and y’all should just leave”. We did just that! Never got his name but he knows who he is and he should NOT be in the service industry. PERIOD.

My salmon burger was served with bacon on it. I asked for it to be re cooked. The Manger returned and insisted that it was freshly cook. I clearly smelled a different aroma but the manager insisted it was freshly seasoned and cooked. I ended up sick. Instant headache and pressure shot to the roof. I never ate pork in my life. It unfortunate that this restaurant have no sense of empathy for people who don't eat pork. such a lazy and inconsiderate thing to do to a customer.

Really enjoyed my time at Plate's! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I attended the Friday night Dragshow and couldn't lay off the creaming chicken and spinach alfredo dish they had set up for the guests (amongs many other dishes to enjoy). The performers were a blast, the host was hysterical and the drink special for the evening was delish. Ill definitely be back. Also i left my favorite jean jacket there n was away on vacay n came back weeks later to find it was still there safely waiting for me to scoop it up. So thankful! Thanks Plate's 💓

Came in for lunch and 3 people were at the bar. I sat near the bar and waited for someone to come to my table. Two people who worked there saw me come in and saw me sit down but didn't come over. I had to go to the bar and ask for a menu. The bartender came and took my order. I ordered the crab and shrimp quesadilla. Once it came out, I took a bite. It had NO seasoning at all. I tried to use the sour cream and pico it came with but that didn't help. I wanted to see what other kind of seasoning or sauce I could put on it. But no one came to check on me once my food came. The restaurant was not packed so I don't see why no one could come and check on me. Just not a great experience.
