I don’t even know where to begin about this place. You never would’ve guessed that this place would be so astounding but it is. I say that in that manner because there are a lot of cafés in Baltimore but this one absolutely stands out. Above all else, GET THE MATCHA LATTE. But, if you’re hungry, get the chipotle chicken sandwich or literally anything on the menu because everything is delicious. I will be returning to this place. Great food, great service, a 10/10 place.

I really wanted to like this place. Loved the old bank doors at the entrance and overall style of the Cafe. However, my first experience left much to be desired. I kept it simple with a coffee and avocado toast. There is nothing better than ordering a basic item and then seeing others (that ordered after you) receive their large, more complex breakfasts before you do. Of course, my order was never made, and had I not asked about it 20 minutes later, who knows how long I would have waited. For context, it wasn't busy, and there were only 4 other people eating there. Upon finally receiving my avocado toast, it was beyond disappointing. Image for reference. Bread was flimsy and barely any spread. The cherry on top of this experience was huge, and I mean HUGE flies. Not sure if this is a common thing in Baltimore, I didn't see any like this anywhere else during my 4 days in the city. I was fortunate enough to catch 2 flies doing their "business" right at the pick-up counter.

I don't know how this place doesn't have more reviews, but the food, service, and coffee (!) are fantastic. It's nice to have a quick breakfast spot that offers a little table service because it made me feel welcome, and like I didn't have to rush. I got the pancakes and they were both huge and delicious. They rely on the honor system to get your self-serve bottled and fountain drinks, and give you coffee in an actual glass mug if you eat in. It shows a lot of trust, which is amazing for building a loyal clientele. Prices are very reasonable - $8 for pancakes and bacon - probably the best bang for my buck I've found so far when it comes to breakfast in Baltimore. Oh! Plus being in an old bank headquarters built in 1895 also makes it one of the fanciest places to eat your quick weekday breakfast. Definitely check it out!

David and Dad’s Cafe, there is a first-time for everything! Today’s breakfast was a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, topped with butter and jelly on toast. This sandwich was a call-in order with a request for well-done bacon. The chef did well, on the well done, when I did find a strip. I learned this sandwich only comes with two.✌🏾 The eggs were softer than my liking, and the bread was soggy. Maybe they were busy; it seems they barely touched the grill. The building lives up to its reputation. Very picturesque!

What a great find! David and Dad’s Cafe is a great place with great prices and the most friendly staff. We stopped for breakfast and it filled us up, tasted great and didn’t break the bank. The cappuccino was great, the iced mocha was a tad too sweet and the nitro coffee was great. The omelet was great as were the bagels and they sandwiches.

Very cool old building. The food and coffee is inexpensive and not fancy. The service was ok. Not a bad spot to grab a quick breakfast

One thing that immediately makes David and Dad’s cafe stand out to me is the location and all the beautiful historic touches they’ve kept. Being in the building was great and I just kept taking more pictures. I’ll also say the service was friendly and quick. I ordered the Reuben and garden salad and they were both pretty good but the bread was a bit soggy and I’m used to more meat on a good Reuben. The garden salad was simply a garden salad which is good. Ultimately if I go back it will be for the atmosphere over the food but the food was not bad at all!

David and Dad's is what appears to be an old bank building. This breakfast restaurant is great way to reuse the space. Spacious with plenty of tables to sit. My hotels offers breakfast but this restaurant is way better option with a variety of options. The cashiers/servers are all really nice and helpful; can the owner open up a place in NYC please with the same type of customer service, PLEASE!!! I ate here almost every day of my stay in Baltimore, the offerings of French toast, home fries, omelettes and iced latte made me a happy foodie. Any time I am back in Baltimore I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

What a Hidden GEM! I have the pastrami which was the Charles Street Special on Jewish Rye. It was the best I have had in a very long time. There's nothing quite like a good hot pastrami sandwich. Make sure you get yours here! I also had Moorenko's ice cream here. Fantastic. This historical bank transformed into a cafe is a MUST SEE & EAT in Baltimore!

Great space! The atmosphere is nice, with a dining area and order counter, and the food and coffee have no complaints from me. I've been twice recently, and tried their Cinnamon French Toast, their Spicy Sausage Burrito, Home Fries, and Cappuccino. Everything has been great so far. The Burrito picture shows some Old Bay and Tabasco sauce, but I added those. Not much in the way of spices on the food I've tried, but everything's still good! Overall, this is mostly a place to stop by for good, above-average diner-type food and coffee options. The service is good, and the place has plenty of regular customers dining in, so it's easy to recommend! 5/5 stars!

A great value, local-friendly breakfast spot in the heart of Baltimore. My family dined in here for breakfast for two consecutive mornings while staying in the Candlewood Baltimore hotel. We had an iced cafe latte (I wish it comes with a large size), buttermilk pancakes (airy, soft, reasonably-sized; I wish they have their own syrup or a better one), meatlover’s omelet and western omelet. We including 2yo and 6yo kids very much enjoyed our breakfast there. Kids especially liked their omelet and scrambled eggs, which made me very happy. I really liked the architecture of the cafe. It made me feel I am in Baltimore.

Good food and great coffee. I haven’t received the best service when I come there though. Often been skipped or dismissed when waiting in line. The first time I came (the manager or owner I think) seemed too busy to help me or even look at me. I’ve been about 3 times I think and it’s been almost the same energy from everyone there. I only gone because it’s better quality than Dunkin Donuts and only about $5-$7 more for the breakfast and coffee combo I usually order.

I've been a couple times previously for a coffee. This time I went for lunch and enjoyed my Reuben sandwich. It was quite busy around 1pm but I easily found a seat. Paying is slightly different, as you only pay when ordering if you are doing take away. If you are eating in you pay at the counter before leaving. Bathroom is clean, but hidden. Just ask an employee and they'll direct you.

David and Dad’s Cafe is magic! The interior is absolutely stunning. The historical touches mixed in with modern appliances actually worked really well. Service was very quick and the food was fantastic. The wraps and the waffles were well above expectation and the coffee was excellent. Will be coming back in the future!

After searching (fruitlessly) for a good smoothie place downtown I ended up here figuring I’d just get avocado toast, but was psyched to see a lineup of fresh smoothies. Even better they were super cheap, like half of what you’d pay anywhere also. Also ended up with the Greek omelette which was good. Add in great service and a cool setting (maybe an old bank lobby?) and it was a true hidden gem.

Amazing eat-in cafe in downtown Baltimore! Pancakes are incredibly fluffy, bagels / croissants taste freshly made & we tried the iced pistachio latte (HIGHLY recommend). Very tasty and affordable with helpful/kind staff. Be sure to try next time you’re in town!

So I was walking through Baltimore City looking for a new place to try out and I happened to come across David and Dad's Cafe. Wowzers 🤩 This cafe is FANTASTIC! It has it all from the cool environment to the delicious food. I went with the veggie omelet and a cup of coffee for some energy ⚡️ The service was awesome and I also got my lady friend a Buffalo Chicken wrap which thought was delectable! Highly recommend and definitely will be stopping in again! 😋
