This is Baltimore's best bar food and an awesome atmosphere. Try the Swallow Tots and the cream of crab soup.... They are amazing! Update: As popular as ever! Great food and cold beer :)

This place is AMAZING! Food is great, atmosphere is amazing, and top of the line service. It’s like everyone knows you already! One thing to note, you better come early because you won’t be able to get a seat in here, and you’ll have to stand up. Honey ghost wings are very spicy, and the ribs are done to perfection. Just the way I like them.

Best burger I have had to date in Baltimore. All of the staff are super helpful, and friendly. Always prompt and attentive. Again, get the burger, not many burgers around will compare. Looking forward to the next time I am over there. Would give it a higher rating if I could. Lets get down to brass tax, this place was on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives with the Mayor of Flavortown. Need I say more?

This is a great local stop and the bartenders/servers are always so nice. I don't love everything on the menu, but the things I like I really love. It is rare to find a bar that has food this good. They are an excellent choice for St. Patrick's day. Their specials are usually the best. Their burgers are just okay. Go fancy. The ghost pepper wings are soo good. Very very hot too, but so worth the burn. Shrimp Po Boy is delicious. Corned beef and cabbage was so so delicious. I was worried I wouldn't like it but so good. They are small, so might not always have seats, but do do carry out.

What many consider “simple bar food” is elevated at Swallow at the Hollow. I often pacify my cravings with a delicious beef burger on any said afternoon. TOMFOOLERY YOU SAY! Nonsense I say, go on “Wensdee” for a burger and a beer…you will thank Jimmy later n’at.

I’m going to regret writing this review, but this is the best place in Baltimore hands down. Food and service are great each time. I go far too often and have had literally every menu item- all delicious. If you like solid bar food and a nice place, check out Swallow. I only say I’ll regret writing the review because they’ve gotten so busy. I recommend them on all social media I see asking for bar recommendations. Place is always buzzing these days. Again, best place in Baltimore.

I've known about this little hidden gem for years! I have a uncle that has been a patriot for several years. It was . My first time there. The wings were great. And the cheese steak is delicious....

Swallow at the Hollow remains a "go to" lunch place for the 10 friends, many dating back to Towson State. Swallow has been our informal but consistent choice for fifteen plus years, providing our varied group of like-minded individuals with reasonably-priced, fare, and drink every Wednesday. at 1:00 pm. What began as a notion has become a habit. Swallow offers a variety of well-prepared, reasonably-priced, menu offerings and drink. The casual atmosphere and conviviality at Swallow provide a good mid-week setting.

One of the best Dive bars out there. The staff is awesome, cooks do a great job and the prices are nice and low. If you are going for a highfalutin place this is not for you. If you think the staff is not friendly, then maybe you aren’t very friendly.

Half price burger night on Wednesdays. Great fun! Nice cozy bar. Music's not loud. Good pub food. We like this place a lot!

Nice bar. They have a back room for parties that’s nice. The service was ok and the food was okay. They have a good happy hour. It gets crowded and parking can be scarce.

Wowwwwww, but did I get treated like a Rock Star at the Swallow!! It was this gorgeous day, I really wanted just to enjoy it, but Johnny's on Roland had absolutely SUCKED (I actually just got up and left my table, the service was so pitiful), and I was down because I didn't know where else to go. I remember the Swallow from my JHU days... and we went there for... libations. Not for grub. But Pottsi saved the day! Taking a chance on the Swallow ended up being the hands-down best choice of my 2day stay in Balto. He served me the most beautiful fish sandwich (perfectly cooked, seasoned, and as hot as the fries-- & they had malt vinegar to go with 'em), treated me with the highest respect but was also relaxed and funny, and this man gave me a couple of meeeean Orange Crushes. Which he had to educate me actually consist of orange vodka, not the bourbon I'd been having them with. Pottsi is fun, transparent, and a top-notch guy to run the bar. Until we meet again, Pot.

I ordered the ghost pepper wings and their crabcakes, because they were featured on Food Network. The wings were good--maybe not worth going out of your way for them, though. The crabcake was adequate, but not worth any "best of" list. Pappas is WAY better in Parkville/Carney. Not sure why Guy Fieri liked the crabcake so much. OK atmosphere--not quite dive-y enough for me, though. Just OK. Not BAD, though.

One of the greatest neighborhood bars of Baltimore. Always fast and friendly service. One of the last old-school unpretentious watering holes left. An all-time classic.

Swallow is a quintessential dive bar, in the best way possible! The drinks are cheap, the food is delicious (I personally recommend the wings or cheesesteak), the service is good, and the atmosphere is nice. Its the perfect neighborhood bar/hang out spot. I can't list the number of times my friends and I have been to this great spot the past few years!

Had dinner last night at Swallow at the Hollow. First we ordered a Guiness draft. It was poured perfectly. Nice head, the right temperature, the way it is supposed to be. For dinner I had a cup of the soup special, creamy Italian wedding soup. I've had Italian wedding soup before but never this way. Good texture, good flavor I'd order it again. Got the Philly cheesesteak which was also very good, as good as any in Baltimore. Also ordered the 🌰 onion rings which were freshly made and delicious. Crunchy on the outside warm and juicy on the inside. Will definitely be back.

Cheesesteak is the best. I get it with mushrooms and fried onions and hots. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bar atmosphere is comfortable. TVs for sports fans.

Cheese steak was good. And the wings weren't bad. It's not the best but it wasn't that bad at all. My expectations also weren't that high. But Swallow delivered. Definitely a solid B+.
