Free to visit. Beautiful inside. First Catholic basilica in USA. The have tours at certain times of the day. The day I visited no one else was there, so tour didn't happen. I explored myself. Plenty of paid street parking was available. There are lot of tourist attractions near by like art museum, Washington monument etc.

Gorgeous Catholic Basilica. I stopped by on Sunday after service to pray in private and to take photos. The Basilica offers so much history and the building itself is gorgeous inside and out. There’s no admissions fee and they were welcoming to walk ins.

Very nice Catholic basilica with Greek revival style. The inside is simple and with pastel colors very soothing. The crypt is the highlight of the church. Very nice Brock arched crypt with a small museum. It is worth the detour to see.

Went site seeing and The Baltimore Basilica was a great place I found to walk around in and look over! It's big, can definitely support a large congregation and is not only clean and easy to move around in, but very pleasantly atmospheric and pretty all around! There are multiple levels to, woth the underground having an interesting old crypt like feel to it that is just very neat, while the top most section is ornate and a cool mix of old and modern architecture! I wish I could comment on people working there BUT, I don't think any of the holy 0eople or guides were there so I cannot comment on either! My only gripe with anything is they DID have some construction going on which made it impossible to get through the front door, but aside from that? You can't really go wrong with a free to visit awesome place like the Baltimore Basilica and I highly recommend it for people wanting a nice walk through in one of the US' oldest well kept religious buildings! Pictures and videos are of the outside and inside of the building and its multiple levels of ornate grandeur!

Absolutely beautiful basilica. As someone who has fallen in love with churchs and church architecture this basilica is beautiful. First catholic Basilica in United States shows true beauty to glorify God. The catacombs was very cool, and chapel under ground was neat. Tracing the history of catholic church in MD was neat how many bishop's came to MD and then spread through out the USA. They usually have tours but you have to call ahead and schedule one. Also the gift store is closed permanently. Wonderful day trip, and right down the street is St. Judes Shrine too. Be careful due that's its in bad part of Baltimore, homeless people, drunks harassed people walking to basilica. Plenty of parking close by basilica.

A completely free opportunity to look at beautiful pieces of art that're centuries old? Sign me up! Despite its many remodelings, things came full circle and it's finally a beacon of neoclassical architecture once more. Outside is the hustle and bustle of Baltimore, but inside is quiet, serene, and sanctified. Be sure to visit the basement as well!

We came from Miami just for a weekend and because God is great we found this wonderful architecture, thanks to Alex, the security guard who works there, he showed us where we should visit and gave us some interesting information

The oldest and first built Catholic Church in the US. Designed by architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe, who is also better known for designing the Capital. Free entrance, and be sure to visit the crypts (entrance on left in church entryway). Please be respectful to worshippers if you visit.

The Basilica is beautiful. There's after a crypt under the church that u can take a tour of either with a tour group or alone (my preference). The bathrooms are sort of underground, as well and near the crypt...advice, there's a bust of Pope Pious that sort of comes out of nowhere when on ur way to the bathroom, try not to scream like I did lol, it's startling, but tho scream was a little bit worse, clergy came running to check on me. I like to go in during the week and light a candle. The mass is a little bit touristy which I didn't like (Christmas eve midnight mass is different and gorgeous) so I personally prefer a catholic church that is not a tourist attraction in terms of mass, but I definitely recommend the crypt tour and checking it out regardless of faith

My favorite part of The Baltimore Basilica is the crypt. I love that it is used for daily mass and that it doesn't give off a "creepy" vibe. One thing that separates this basilica apart from any other Catholic church/cathedral/basilica that I have been to, is that visitors are able to sign up for adoration shifts.

Great... not too guilded but still beautiful. Be sure to check out the crypt as well.

America’s first cathedral, a beautiful Neo-Classical style with light colors and natural lighting signaling religious freedom and the hope of a new nation at its completion in the early 1800’s. Don’t miss out on the quiet and serene undercroft as another place for prayer and contemplation.

Beautiful architecture. Peaceful place to worship, individually or to attend Mass. Check the website for accurate Mass times. Google is not always correct.

Would highly recommend visiting if you're interested in learning more about the Basilica's importance in history of not only Baltimore, but also the church. Don, the tour guide, did a terrific job explaining all the details, and it was interesting to learn about the church's place in history.

The Baltimore Basílica is a beautiful place for introspective reflection. I went down to the basement and it was a quiet place. I enjoyed the silence and solitude.

This is the very first Catholic cathedral in the United States it's been beautiful since I was a kid and serve as their and I haven't been there for over 30 years and it's still as beautiful now after its renovation as it ever was

Staggered by the amount to do here. Easily an hour's worth of things to see along the self-guided tour. However, not as pretty as some other cathedrals I've seen

Incredible! Attended Sunday Mass and stayed after to walk through downstairs and to take in all the beautiful art and statues! Stopped at St. John Paul II Prayer Garden.
