Amazing museum!!! I will be back shortly. I didn't have a chance to take pics indoors but the views from outside are beautiful!! Definitely need to spend an entire day there. The room with metal typesetting was super cool. The exhibits are very interactive and immersive so kids will really like this museum as well as adults! The layout of the museum invites exploration. Ample parking.

This is hands down one of my favorite museums. I don’t know how we didn't find it sooner but I’m sure glad we did! We spent a good couple of hours in the museum and then went down the block to have lunch on the water front. The museum chronicles the industry history of Baltimore and each exhibit is even more fantastic as you go through. As a 47 year old history lover and teacher for two decades I came away learning a lot. I am someone with mobility issues and the museum was accessible enough for me to navigate it with my scooter. The bathrooms are also accessible. There are also plenty of benches throughout the museum. Finally, the staff were helpful and really nice. They also have a small gift shop.

Highly recommend this opportunity for all ages! They do a great job of recreating the history of Industry in this area many years ago (mostly 1800’s)! Lots of hands on opportunities and vintage equipment. They also are situated on the Inner Harbor so the views are fantastic! They have their own parking lot which is rare for this area. The staff were all so very helpful and friendly!

Went to a wedding here and it was definitely different in a positive way. Absolutely loved the history created in this museum and I couldn’t not believe the views in the evening. What a fantastic venue just overall brilliant.

A "must see" museum in Baltimore. The re-creation of businesses from the past are fascinating and really showcase the rich history and contributions to our society associated with this east coast port city. Highly recommend a visit to this museum.

Attended for a private event, but was able to do some exploring during the cocktail hour. Really interesting, incredible exhibits of restored history, like you're traveling through time. There's also a beautiful view of the marina.

The staff is really friendly! She gave military personnel free entrance and took the time to show me the entire museum (I was the only visitor at that time). I highly recommend this museum, as it's one of the best places I've visited in Baltimore.

This is my first visit back to the museum since the pandemic, and it was great to see it again! Right by the free bus stop (Banner route) and with lovely views over the harbour, it makes for a very interesting visit. Inside, there are different sections on the canning industry, Bethlehem steel, and all the incredible companies and inventions that have come out of Baltimore. There are recreations on different manufacturing sites including a printing press and garment shop which are fascinating and very detailed. Outside, there are a few industry bits too including the crane from Bethlehem Steel and cupola from the old piano factory. There's also a small shop too with some really interesting more locally based pieces. I did unfortunately time my visit with the Bmore Historic event. The museum is such a big space, it's perfect for events but I wish I'd thought to check and would recommend making sure there's no events for your visit. The only area blocked off was the garment shop but most of the other side rooms were taken over for workshops (a lot like the lunch room do have interesting artefacts around the edges) and attendees everywhere (having a good time too by the sounds of things!). I still saw mostly everything but I felt so out of place, and had to be hyper aware so I didn't accidentally stumble into the middle of something!

This museum is excellent. It covers the industrial age on up, with operational machinery. However, you'll only get to see the machinery work if you take the guided tour, which is free, and well worth the effort. The blacksmith they have there is an excellent craftsman, and the tour guide and front desk staff are incredibly knowledgeable. A highly recommended stop if you're in Baltimore.

WOW. What an amazing experience we had today at the BMI. Thanks Jessica for setting us up with patient and professional tour guides, O'Malley and Gaby! The students in our Summer Enrichment Camp were provided with excellent age-appropriate hands on activities that equipped them with not only "souvenirs" to take back home but also knowledge of historic Baltimore. This place is a gem. We had a large group, with many squirmy PreK students yet no one missed a beat. They are a well-oiled machine! (Pun intended) We look forward to visiting again!

Must visit this museum if you are in Baltimore. With student discount, entry fee is $7. It is located just beside the harbor so you can beautiful view walking around as well. As for the exhibits, each one of them is planned and arranged well. It’s amazing how so many type of industries got their ground up and running here in Baltimore. Self walking tour is enough, but you can get museum staff to tour and explain to you. There are workshop rooms for school children to get to do museum related activities. Inside the media communications room, there is a device charging station.

I feel the high stars are for people who have gone to an event. This museum gives a lot of impressive history of Baltimore. I didn't realize so many well-known items were first made in Baltimore. However, I brought my 9 and 11 year old and they were bored. I wish there were more hands on items because there are a lot of possibilities to do so with the current displays. They found the most fun being in the car in the automobile area. There's a lot of reading. They do have these audio devices, that were free, where you can scan an RFID to listen to some extra info apart from the signage. The museum itself is on the small size. We didn't stand and read everything, but we didn't zip through either. I felt it took us, at most, 1.5 hours.

One of the best wedding venues in Baltimore. A waterfront view, Domino's Sugar sign photos at night, and an eclectic variety of things to see inside during the wedding. Love photographing weddings here!

I visited the museum on a quiet morning, so literally had the space for myself to indulge in the history of Baltimore. Maybe not a place where kids would enjoy as the museum is huge with packed information to read. There is a very convenient phone charging station.

If you are looking for a place to host an event, this is it! We hosted a fundraising gala at BMI and I could not have dreamt of a more positive experience. Their events team (Kelley & Jesse) went above and beyond. Jesse was there on the day to make sure operations ran smoothly and he was always two steps ahead of me to tackle tasks as they arose. I will recommend them to everyone I know.

Great view of the Baltimore skyline, especially the Domino Sugars sign. I was there for an event, but I have also visited the museum in the past. The exhibits are fun, interesting, and interactive. They have definitely improved over the years. Overall the Baltimore Museum of Industry is wonderful for events, school groups, and just to visit. A very enjoyable visit for children and for adults.

Children rejoice and are happy that they can look and play with some of the exhibits. definitely a weekend destination for kids and their parents. The museum, in part, tells the story of things familiar to us. From the primitive to the complex and from the complex to the simple.

Nice little museum worth a quick trip if you're from Baltimore or new to the area and are looking to learn a thing or two about some of the industries that built the city (and America) People were very friendly and the price is reasonable. I especially liked all of the material they had on Bethlehem Steel - I'd definitely like to see more pieces and things from their collection.

I learned much about immigration and how a cannery worked. It is amazing how different people's lives were back in the 19th century vs today thru the tour my school was given, and it was a very intriguing experience. I learned what a job would have been like for an educated, white man vs an uneducated black woman. The man could've been a printer, but black people are restricted to shucking oysters. I would definitely go there again to see more of the museum. 💕

Enjoyed my visit. Cool place!!! An electric car was created in the 1800s. Saw some school tours being given. Kids were enjoying themselves.

Free parking was nice, there was also a farmer market going on. Front Desk Staff was great and museum had a lot to offer. Good price for what you get. Discounts for teachers, military, and seniors. Some volunteers do demonstrations and there is a guided tour, but I plenty of fun walking around

We could not have had our wedding at a more perfect venue. We envisioned getting married by the water and BMI not only provided this but a completely unique and fun interior. We had to move our ceremony inside and it was just as beautiful with the entire harbor as our backdrop. All our guests loved the exhibits and couldn’t get enough of the car for photos. After doing our initial walk through with Kelley it was a no brainer and we booked the next day. Angie was an absolute gem helping guide us through the rehearsal and timing for our ceremony. Everything was perfect and it was definitely due to her help and guidance throughout the night.

My 1st time going and wow it was amazing. So much history and culture that i had not known before about our city. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. And the displays was amazing. The location is even awesome over looking the water and the boats. I really enjoyed my time there. I would recommend to anyone who has never been to take time to visit. They will be blown away by all the history and technology and industrial age that we came from.

Awesome museum that has a great collection of historical artifacts showing what life was like for the ordinary working men, women and children of the Baltimore area. When I visited some years ago, there was an amazing docent in the printing shop who had spent decades working for a local newspaper. He was a fountain of information; I hope he is still there and doing well.

I have lived here my whole life and have never been to this museum. We went with my daughters' girl scout troop over the weekend. What a cool place!!! I especially loved the Beth Steel exhibit and seeing all the industries that made Baltimore so hugely important back in the day. Made me proud to be from here.

A very unique museum to visit for an hour or two! We visited on a Saturday so it was great getting to experience the morning market. The museum is set up in a way where adults can read about industrial Baltimore while there are multiple activity boxes setup around for children. We loved that you can walk into what seems to be an old textiles shop, metal shop, and print shop and see the old machinery up close. A wonderfully kept gem of a museum!

We took our son on our off day. I had a fun. Learned a few things I haven't been since a lil girl on a school field trip. So happy to see it's still a popular place for school trips. The host was extremely nice.
