A mixed review. The hotel is tremendous, super clean and modern. The room was huge and comfortable. It is across the street from the Inner Harbor. However, the restaurant and bar are only open Fri and Saturday from 5 to midnight, and a coffee shop from 7 to 2. There is nothing else close by for food or drink so it is a hike to eat, especially after a long day.

I stayed overnight with my daughter and she said it was the best day of her life! Great location, lovely staff, clean spacious room and the indoor pool was a bonus! We walked to the historic ships and the National Aquarium, the restaurant was not open on the night of our stay but the hotel provided a list of local eateries and the breakfast cafe was ideal. We will definitely be back!

Everyone who worked here was soooo friendly. Annette at the front desk was so sweet and awesome. The room was great, and we had a great view. You get what you pay for. Location was good. We walked everywhere and never got into our car until time to leave.

All was fine with this property until we checked out. Great location. Nice room with a nice view of the Inner Harbor. Checked out at 10:30. Got home at 4pm and realized I left two shirts in the closet. Numerous calls to the hotel and their Loss Prevention Dept went unreturned and every time I was told nothing was found in the room. So, basically, one of their employees stole something and no one cares. Will never stay here again.

The staff is great with good hospitality. The location is actually even better, right across the street from the beginning of the harbor. A very peaceful hotel but It’s way overpriced. Very old looking with a weird carpet stench. Chipped walls, chipped doors. Looks like an old Catholic Church. Doesn’t have a good view either compared to other local hotels. Old dirty carpet ! It was a burn mark in the unattached foot rest not to mention it didn’t even match. Just a badly designed hotel for the price. Needs remodeling.

Great stay! From the front desk, valet, and Kevin at the bar, everyone was a great ambassador of the hotel. We had good laughs while having drinks, with Kevin, and Shane at the front desk was friendly and helpful every step of the way. Our room was clean, and we loved the layout and decor throughout the hotel. We had very good coffee and breakfast sandwiches at their cafe. We will return!

Overall our experience was good. Cons: Ice maker on our floor was broke, vending machine by the pool didn't work, door from the parking garage was not locked which made us concerned about security. We had a multiple night stay, and we were disappointed that they didn't refresh the room each day. We had to call the front desk to get towels/coffee/water and they didn't even have regular coffee available. Pros: Room was spacious and clean. The staff was amazing, and very friendly, even offering to buy me coffee since they were out of regular k cups. The staffs friendly service makes up for other issues, but for the price you would hope for a few more of the little touches that would have really made the stay awesome.

First room, 311, had a terrible bed. I’m not sure if it was a broken box spring or just really old mattress. Mattress had no support so you rolled into the center of the bed if sleeping next to someone. Plus the mattress was approximately 6” higher on the foot side than the head. Really odd. The front desk person was very kind and let us switch to another room, 411. The mattress there was NOT nearly as bad but still baffling quality for such a highly rated 4 star hotel. Both rooms seemed dated with stained carpet. Felt like the last time the place was updated was in the 80s. After staying here and checking out “5-star” reviews and pictures on google reviews- I think some rooms in this hotel have been updated and modernized. Can’t beat the location or view of the harbor. However, I don’t think we would stay here again. There are better options at this price point.

Very nice hotel in a great location if your visiting inner Harbor which is right across the street. Rooms are nice, not fancy and very spacious. Bathroom is large. Nice indoor pool and courtyard. Beautiful indoor corridors where the rooms are located. The best room feature for me was the shower gel dispenser in the Tub! Loved it! Although I had my own I used theirs anyway. I wish all hotels would do this. Welcoming front desk staff.

Came here for a brief staycation, and it was amazing! Check in was a breeze, staff was very polite. We had the king deluxe room. Rooms were very spacious, newly clean and fresh. Our room had a kitchenette area with a fridge, if it had a microwave it would have been a huge plus but it wasn't a big deal. Best part of our room was the amazing view of the inner harbor, which I was able to watch the sunrise on the couch window. We also went to the pool/hot tub. While smaller than expected, it looked well kept and maintained and we were able to relax and unwind. Loved how convenient it was to walk to the inner harbor to grab food and shop. Overall this was a great place to refresh and I will definitely be back!

Update: I received a random charge on my card. I had to call a work my way through several people to figure it out. I was charged an amenity fee of ~28$. I was never told about this at check in or when booking. They said it got me access to the pool, gym, and 2 bottles of water in the room. This is ridiculous and should have been included with the booking rate. Bait and switch. After discussing with them, they took it off which is why I'm giving them 2 stars rather than the minimum of 1. However, I would not stay there again. --- OLD: This was a good “budget” stay for us. We paid $123 on a Friday night in January for a court view room which I think is a good deal considering the location. The other hotels we looked at in the inner harbor started at $170. The lobby of hotel could certainly use some revamping and had a weird smell. The room was pretty good and looked to be updated some what recently. The gym was great and has a lot of verity of machines. The pool / hot tub / outdoor area on the 7th floor is a nice touch. I’d consider staying there again.

Check in was super quick. Staff at front desk were super nice. The room was excellent. Great view from room. Bed was very comfortable. Easy access to Inner Harbor. Highly recommend if you're going to Inner Harbor or to Ravens or Orioles games.

While passing through Baltimore, we stayed a night at Sonesta. Located close to the waterfront, the hotel has a very elegant feel to it. The rates are reasonable, and the service was good. The room was FANTASTIC! Overall, totally recommended.

BEAUTIFUL hotel. Super clean. Friendly staff. Not many options in the coffee shop and their card machine was down so they only accepted cash. The bar is only open Fri and Sat. So we ended up having to go out for drinks at night. Other than that highly recommend it. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

Stayed here a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. So wife and I decided to do weekend getaway and booked again. Hotel has gone downhill. Panhandler in lobby when checking in with music blasting. Check in and took elevator to 3rd floor and all you smell is Marijuana in hallway. Went downstairs and waited for my car and harassed by the same panhandler. Walked the inner harbour which was great, went back to room and the smell of Marijuana was coming in through the vents. We had to leave a day earlier because of headache wife was getting. Could not sleep. They really need to get back to basics and have guest follow the rules. Its a shame as our first experience was so great. Will never book again. Will spend a little extra for piece of mind somewhere else.

Excellent accommodations! I arrived in the wee hours of the morning and was promptly greeted at my vehicle, bags handled and vehicle valeted. WOW! Such a warm greeting at that hour, I was extremely pleased and blessed. The front desk professional immediately checked me in. My suite was beautiful—overlooking the harbor and the center of Charm City ♥️! What an appropriate name for Baltimore City, it woos you and romances you…and this grand gem of an hotel was the perfect greeting to such an amazing City. This is an amazing place to have your next conference, team building session, family reunion or getaway or staycation. The hotel is surrounded by the best eateries and amazing things to do.

I recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court in Baltimore, MD. Everything about my stay was fantastic - from the friendly greeting at the door by the valet staff and front desk, to the courteous farewell upon my departure. The hotel is perfectly situated along the inner harbor, a very short walk to the National Aquarium and dozens of restaurants. Special thanks to James and Michele, who made certain that I was accommodated for parking despite the oversized vehicle I own not fitting into the parking garage. Easily the largest and cleanest hotel gym I have ever seen!

Was charged an amenity fee of $80.00 that I wasn't aware of, plus another $100 deposit that I didn't know about, supposed to be returned (we will see) Room was nice other than lighting not good, no hot water hardy. But was the worst thing is the hot tub wasn't working The water was cold, couldn't use this amenity lol .

Great location, well appointed and quiet rooms. Lovely staff. The conference food is okay, didn't eat anywhere else in the hotel. Great conference space if you're doing an event. The staff was friendly, helpful, and excellent at every turn.

I was set to stay for two nights. Upon using the sink and shower for the first time of my stay, I immediately requested an early checkout. My faucet water was brown! And the shower water smelled. I was never issued an apology for the inconvenience. Even while standing at the counter discussing the refund process with a manager standing nearby…no apology. It’s Thanksgiving day and I’m looking for a new hotel to check in. Annoyed is not even the word.

Well me and the wife stayed here for an anniversary getaway. The service was absolutely amazing. Ms.Michell at the front desk sent us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Complete surprise for us. We were just having regular conversation and she sent us a gift. Very attentive and caring to our needs and privacy. Mr. James the concierge made sure we barely lifted a finger or the phone. He knows all the good spots close by. We loved the view and the staff.

Room was clean, staff was very accommodating. The downside is they were short staffed, so perks like having someone bring your bags to your room wasn't an option and valet parking was available but too slow. Again since they were short staffed. Aside from that, we had a great time. We booked a suite overlooking the harbor.

Lovely hotel. Perhaps more of a conference spot. But nonetheless the staff was great. A little bar they had was quite wonderful. Kevin served us and we had a wonderful time and it's right on the edge of the harbor. Easy access to the science museum if you have kids and a short walk to the aquarium.

Very clean and quiet hotel in a prime area. The doorman is very friendly, the front desk is helpful, and I had an overall good experience. I took off two stars as the hotel stated they would refund my deposit after I leave, but unfortunately, that didn't happen despite me contacting them and my bank. I only stayed there to sleep and was outdoors all day until late night

Great service, especially Mr. Tony the valet. Customer service done right. We'll definitely stay here again. The only bummer here is no microwave in the room. Everything else was great. Easy walk to the harbor area attractions. Clean rooms, great service.

Location is the best part about this place! The rooms are nice. We had a 2 queen room with 2 adults and 2 kids and it was plenty of room. I was surprised room service didn't visit our room during our stay to toss trash, replenish kcups, make beds or replenish towels. The pool/hot tub were a nice feature but are definitely dated and need help. The hot tub had a hole in the bottom and pieces of the pool were crumbled on the bottom you could feel with your hands and feet. There was also a slight Ant infestation at one of the tables. They have a Cafe near the lobby that's open from 8-2, but I went at 1pm two days straight, I was told I couldn't get a coffee because she had already cleaned out the equipment. This was very inconvenient. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. We wouldn't stay here again though.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court for our wedding in September and got a block of rooms there. In addition we did a day after brunch which was fantastic and super necessary. Everything was absolutely perfect and superb. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were fantastic for all our guests and our suite. We had a slight hiccup with a little confusion about the timing of our brunch but they handled it great and everything worked out in the end. Fantastic views of the harbor were there to greet us in the morning and send us off to sleep. Very easy to get to and there is ample parking in their garage. They were even extremely flexible with us for a late checkout. Zero complaints, 5 out of 5, will definitely be staying with them again!

Nice and very spacious room. Bathroom was nice, although not fancy. Shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower rather than minis, which does not bother me. The room has a separate entryway area with the closet, bathroom and small counter area with mini fridge and coffee maker. The ceiling light in this area was out, which was a bit inconvenient. One of the shades was also not appropriately clipped into the thing on the track, so it was really hard to get one half of the shade open. Location is great and prices seem reasonable. So overall good experience with the room, but three stars because of our experience with the front desk and overall way the hotel is run. We had reserved a deluxe king room more than 2 months in advance. I checked in and only found out we were assigned a room with two queen beds after getting up to the room. I was not told by the front desk person who checked us in or asked if this was ok. Considering the hotel charges a higher rate for a king room than a room with two queens - it’s pretty BS. I drag all of my luggage back down to the front desk, only to be told they couldn’t change my room because they had no rooms left with a king bed. It was the night before a Ravens game so I initially believed this, but it isn’t my problem if you oversold the room type, and so the front desk person asked me to wait for his manager so resolve things. Thankfully the hotel manager sorted things out—after I waited for 30 minutes in the lobby with all of my luggage as they were busy dealing with another disgruntled guest. We were given a harbor view king room, which is same size/layout room but technically an upgrade because the room is on the harbor side of the hotel. But we did end up on a lower floor compared to our original room, next to the busy road where road traffic was actually fairly loud in our room, and couldn’t see the harbor anyways because our view was lower than the trees that lined the road. While this was nice that we ended up with an “upgrade” that we couldn’t care less about (honestly would have just preferred a quieter room on the other side of the hotel), it also angers me that clearly the first person lied about there being no rooms with king beds left. If they had informed me at time of check in about the room problem, I would be more understanding, but it’s rude to assume a guest who booked a king room would be just ok with two queen beds. We also stayed here as a part of a hotel block for a wedding, and they also forgot to get us our welcome bags, which importantly had the logistics information on how to catch the shuttle etc, so we had to find someone else the next morning to help us. Additionally, check out is also at noon and we were finishing up packing around 11:20, but maid service knocked on our room while we still there and clearly hadn’t checked out. This in itself is not a problem, we politely told her we were checking out soon. However, a hotel of this size should be organized enough not to have the cleaning service come when guests are still in the room. Or at least wait until past the check out time to check if guests had just left without checking out.

I photographed a few weddings here over the years as well as the getting ready parts of wedding days for the ceremony with somewhere else. It’s always a pleasure working in these rooms with all the natural light parking is usually pretty easy and there’s a lot to walk to nearby if it’s warm enough that you can go down to the inner Harbor. I highly recommend it!

The place is just Beautiful!!! The food is delicious Hospitality was fantastic. I would recommend everyone to come to stay. Inside pool, exercise room and were amazed at the TV in the bathroom Inside the mirror. But, I wish that they had a microwave. Other than that I really did enjoy my stay. Housekeeper was very polite and attentive to your needs. Keep up the good work.

We stayed here for a weekend staycation and had a wonderful time! The room was very well laid out and clean. The harbor view was fantastic. You don’t here the guests in the neighboring rooms. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was wonderful and if I ever need to stay in the area, I will be returning. The room was really nice, my friend and I enjoyed every moment of it. There was one issue though which is why my over all rating was 4 ⭐'s. One person who attends the front desk was pretty rude to my friend in multiple occasions, in person and on the phone when we needed more towels. I understand that we all had bad days but when we have one of those we need to leave our problems home and not bring them to work. I had not been for her. The hotel will have nothing five stars.

While the room itself was clean and comfortable, the overall experience was subpar. The staff was very nice, however the overall service left me desiring more. When I checked in (2 hours after the check in time) we were told our room was not ready. The hostess was very nice and I do not blame her at all for the inconvenience but still, unacceptable. When requesting more pillows, they never arrived. I believe they may be short staffed but still I was hoping for more. Again the staff was friendly and the room was nice. Just some minor inconveniences

  • 5/5 Jeanette G. 2 years ago on Google
So close to everything at the Inner Harbor! The rooms were clean and spacious. The valet attendant was courteous, even helped put our bags in the car. The pool was clean and warm. The work out room was the best I have used at a hotel.

We traveled to Baltimore with our 2 boys (2 yr and 4 yr) and after a lot of researching we booked with the Royal Sonesta because it was in a good spot and had an indoor pool. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived (3 hours before check in) the staff was amazing. We arrived early with intent on going to aquarium before checking in. We stopped at hotel to confirm it was ok to park in the garage even though we were checking in until later. Not only did they say absolutely- but they also checked us in early, which was awesome! Every single staff member we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and had smiles. We could walk to everything we needed, so location was perfect. After a busy day at the museum we came back for some pool time. Towels were available, the indoor pool was perfect temp for the kids. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We ate with our 2 kids at explorers- not the best, but served its purpose. More options for kids would have been wonderful. Overall we were very happy with our stay and hope to come back when it’s warmer for even more fun!
