Our
family
made
the
difficult
decision
to
transition
our
parents
to
Arbor
Terrace.
Initially
residing
in
the
Assisted
Living
section,
it
soon
became
evident
that
my
mother
required
specialized
care
in
the
Memory
Care
unit.
Separating
my
parents
after
nearly
70
years
of
marriage,
akin
to
the
love
story
depicted
in
'The
Notebook,'
was
an
emotional
challenge.
Witnessing
my
father
struggle
to
accept
their
physical
separation
mirrored
my
own
difficulty
in
letting
go
of
the
image
I
had
known
all
my
life.
I
advocated
fervently
with
Arbor
Terrace's
leadership,
believing
that
keeping
them
apart
would
cause
more
harm.
The
staff,
displaying
incredible
patience
and
unwavering
dedication,
supported
our
decision
to
move
my
mother
to
Memory
Care,
understanding
her
need
for
additional
attention.
Her
adjustment
proved
challenging,
but
the
environment
provided
her
with
social
connections,
activities,
and
nourishing
meals
that
brought
her
happiness
and
health.
Meanwhile,
the
staff
extended
invaluable
assistance
to
help
my
father
adapt
to
this
new
chapter.
His
daily
ritual
of
meeting
her
for
breakfast,
meticulously
groomed
and
dressed,
resembled
a
young
man
preparing
for
a
first
date
with
his
sweetie.
This
journey
wasn't
just
about
care
for
the
residents;
it
encompassed
unwavering
support
for
us,
their
devoted
children.
Losing
both
our
parents
within
six
weeks
this
year
further
emphasized
the
profound
love
they
shared.
They
were
inseparable.
My
eternal
gratitude
extends
to
the
entire
Arbor
Terrace
team,
who
tirelessly
managed
both
our
parents
with
an
abundance
of
love
and
care
every
single
day.
Special
recognition
goes
to
Emmanuel,
Lena,
Mia,
Fran,
and
Tracy,
who
were
consistently
available
to
support
not
only
our
parents
but
also
us,
their
children.
Words
cannot
adequately
express
our
appreciation
for
Arbor
Terrace's
exceptional
care
and
support.
