Cupcakes done right!!!! After receiving a card from the owner, I took my kids to try the place out this weekend. We tried the Oreo Cookie, Strawberry Crunch, and Red Velvet Chicken & Waffle cupcakes. Each cupcake was large enough to share and full of flavor. The Strawberry Crunch tasted just like the Good Humor ice cream bar version - it reminded me of childhood and ice cream trucks. It had a nice little surprise cinnamon bun on top of it. The Red Velvet Chicken & Waffle... just WOW. We were definitely intrigued that the chicken atop the cupcake was coated in Buffalo sauce! The flavors really complimented each other. So Good!

Waited over an hour in line this afternoon with my mother. Looks like it's only two people running the operation. Either they're understaffed and/or need help. They don't take advanced orders because everything is first come first serve. They need to fix that part about their business ops. Our fingers were frozen upon waiting. The line wasn't wrapped around the building or superlong; it just moves at a snails pace. Not sure if lines at the door are the norm, but only visit when it's less than 10ppl waiting upon opening. However, just like the two people in front of me today, we are one and done customers. I was only able to go today because I don't work on Mondays and usually work on the days they are regularly open for business. I sent a friend of mines back in the summer to grab food for me and he told me never again. The location is HORRIBLE! You'll be lucky to get street parking, but there is limited parking. Had to pay for parking a few blocks away. I always love to support small businesses but this is difficult place to get accessible parking. The strawberry shortcake cheesecake I got during the summer was delicious! They're pricey, but they give big portions. Got the strawberry rum cake today and it was okay. Big portions again with that but not worth the price IMO. My mom did not like the banana pudding. She said there wasn't any banana chunks or much cream in her container. However, I did like the chocolate chip cookie and the walnut cookie. They were good! Also, beware if you're paying cash. They do not give cash/change back. The person in front of me paid with cash and was told he wouldn't get any change back. Thereafter, He asked if he could get a soda and the lady told him it was too late because she processed his order. I was shocked at how stingy they were because that gentleman's change should have covered the price of the soda can. He waited over an hour just like we did and some appreciation of our patience would have been nice. That's why they're getting 1 star from me. First impressions are everything and this one was not that good. Hope they get themselves together and do better! 2/16/22 - Just tried the banana pudding and it is delicious! Guess my mom wanted banana chunks but it is good the way it is! Everyone has different tastes 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love sweets! These desserts are so good and creative and worth the wait. I’ve been coming here since she opened and I wait in line every time but it’s worth it. Attached a few pictures of thing I have gotta over the years

I love going to this place! The food is always amazing and you get great portions for the price. The desserts are so unique that I can't find them anywhere else! Follow their IG so that you can stay updated with their menu options since it changes every week! I highly recommend trying this place at least once in your life (although it may be impossible to only try it once).

Expensive but delicious! Weird hours but good stuff. Just street parking. Good sized portions. The apple rum was absolute YUM, just needed more apples. Banana puddings were great, but I wish it had a little more pudding it's SOOOO good! The blueberry lemon cheesecake was yummy and I usually don't like lemon things! My family enjoys their items, we plan to come back. Only open about 3 days a week!

I got here early on a Saturday. They are supposed to open at 12, so I arrived around 1145, which landed me a spot 5th in line. They did not open their doors until 1210ish. I didn't leave with my order until 1230. That's an extremely long time to be at a bakery. The items are on the expensive side. I ordered 4 cupcakes, cookies and cream rum cake, strawberry cheesecake rum cake, and 2 pb snickerdoodle banana puddings. The banana puddings and cakes were just okay. I enjoyed the cupcakes. If I were to go back I'll stick to cupcakes.

I often think about this place. The day I stopped by was completely unplanned but something in my spirit told me that I was in the neighborhood where the bakery was located. Not one single regret either. The team was very friendly. They even gave me a scoop of ice cream on top of what I ordered. Now, I personally ordered the Peach Cobbler cheesecake! Whew, Sweet baby Jesus that thing was so GOOD! My sweet tooth thanks you all! The only reason why they don't get 5 stars...those prices are steep but you can guarantee that when I'm in the neighborhood. I will be stopping by.

So disappointed. I wanted a cupcake for my birthday and decided to purchase them from Sugar Vault as I'd often seen a line outside their door in passing. My cupcakes arrived well packaged, but after taking two bites, I felt something strange on my tongue. It was at that time that I pulled out a long strand of black hair that was still partially hanging from the cupcake as it had been baked inside. This makes me concerned about the standards that they have for food handling as wearing a hairnet is basic. I wish them well but unfortunately will not be back and am greatly disappointed

This place is great! Staff is friendly and all the desserts are delicious. It is pricy, but that’s because most of the desserts are either huge or are made with expensive ingredients. Definitely get there early for the best selection, especially on Saturday. And look at their Instagram for the most up to date menu and hours. They are very transparent on when they will be open or closed now.

Dry as hell. Worst bakery in the DMV. Couldn’t even finish the desserts for the sole sake of paying around $30 for it. I had very high expectations due to the positive reviews but the taste wasn’t there and was definitely not worth the price. Betty Crocker and Duncan Hines cake mixes are better than this. Would not recommend.

I’d been wanting to come to this bakery since running into them on Instagram. We were on our way to Sunday brunch and happened to notice a really long line of people on the sidewalk. I didn’t know what it was for but then I saw the sign for “Sugar Vault” and I knew that I had to go!! So while we waited for our table for brunch and since it was just a few steps away from the restaurant, we ventured off to Check out the bakery. We tried the Red velvet cheesecake with chicken and waffles and a sweet potato churro cupcake as well as the banana pudding. They were all really good, especially the banana Pudding! I will say that All of the desserts were super, super, super sweet - hence the name Sugar Vault is a great description. The desserts were much sweeter than my preferred liking as was the same comment from both friends. Nevertheless, I am in awe and appreciate the creativity and variety of Flavors and options of desserts available. I’m not sure that I could handle their desserts on a frequent basis because of the amount of sugar used but on occasion I could splurge on one of their guilty pleasures. Hopefully in the future there will be some lower calorie, less sugary options available because I would love to support these wonderful pastry chefs!

Incredible bakery! A little pricey but after you taste their desserts, it is easy to understand the price. They are not stingy using the ingredients, everything tastes delicious and fresh. The bourbon caramel apple cake tastes real bourbon! Bourbon is a real ingredient and not just an adjective. The blueberry lemon cheesecake was amazing also! Limited parking around. Usually long lines. It is a small space, with no seats available. This is a black-owned business.

The reason for 3 stars. Limited selection will be available on the menu. Not everything on the menu will be available. You have to wait outside to get in. Only two people allowed in at a time. There were only two workers. I believe, it maybe the owner she looks so depleted. They need help! We got the oreo cinnamon bun, apple caramel rum cake ( its real rum dont give to your kids). I also got thr peach cobbler cheesecake.

A must try. The moistest rum cake ever!! I have never had a cake this good. The stuffed red velvet cheesecake is so delicious, and I love the light crispyness on the top of the cupcake. Last the smell when you walk in reminds you of family gatherings on Sundays after church at grandmas house. 10/10 100% recommend.

I was excited about this one but unfortunately, my excitement was not fulfilled Now customer service was AMAZING! Very friendly and professional from the moment we walked in the door! Here’s what we got: 🧁 Strawberry Crunch Rum Cake 6/10 The alcohol was just too overpowering (and I love rum cakes). I couldn’t really taste the flavor of the cake. 🧁 Pineapple Upside Down Rum Cake 6/10 Same as the strawberry cake. The rum was so overwhelming. There was no balance. 🧁 Red Velvet Cupcake 7/10 I was expecting to be wowed and just wasn’t. It was a basic red velvet cupcake 🧁 Sweet Potato Cheesecake 8.5/10 The cheesecake itself is very good! A nice mixture and balance of cheesecake and sweet potato. But it’s covered with (I think) Cinnamon Toast Crunch…that has zero crunch. I just don’t think the cereal is necessary on this one 🧁 Peach Cobbler 6.5/10 It was literally peaches (that could be cooked more), cinnamon, and nutmeg. I like mine a little thicker and more “cobbler” 🧁 Banana Pudding 5/10 This was a basic banana pudding (with not many bananas to be found). There wasn’t even a taste of banana. Generic pudding and vanilla wafers. While none of the items were horrible, they all could have been a lot better for the price point! I would love to try them again in hopes for a different experience. #baltimorefoodblog #baltimorefoodie #baltimorefoodfinder #baltimoreblogger #baltimorerestautants #eatmorebmore #charmcityfood #charmcityeats #dmvfoodfinder #dmvfoodie #dmveats #dmvrestaurants #eastcoasteats #marylandeats #blackgirlblogger #blackgirleats #blackgirlfoodie #newfoodfinds #boujieblackgirl #wherewebouttoeatat #bmorecity #bmorecityfood ##dmvdesserts #dmvsweets

I bought the strawberry crunch cake slice and cinnamon roll cupcake. Both were delicious and both staff members greeted me and my son with smiles. I don’t leave the eastern shore often but I was in the area and I’m glad I stopped by.

Goodness people are tough reviewers. This place is incredibly inventive and everything I got tasted delicious! While the price seems steep, I can understand why as I own a small bakeshop myself. Ingredients are especially costly right now and for the detail of these desserts and the fact that they have a storefront, it’s totally warranted. No issues with lines and the staff was very friendly. Thanks, Sugar Vault!
