Nice place to get away that is close to Baltimore. Good fishing - can rent boats. Good trails. Can get crowded but go early in the am and should be fine. There always seems to be kids swimming in the reservoir right where fishing is the best. Ha. I donโ€™t blame them. Great place to go when youโ€™re a teenager to get away from adults.

Lots of ducks, geese, and baby ducklings to see. Beautiful sights all around. Hiking trails, hunting areas, fishing spots, and skeet and trap area as well. Lots of "beach" sights and plenty of shade as well.

We have a great time. Loch Raven Reservoir is one of the most pristine outdoor locations in the Baltimore metropolitan area, with resplendent plants and wildlife, and beautiful water. My husband loves to fish, and we when early in the morning. There was no line and the boat and baits cost $38.

Beautiful place to take a walk, hike, go canoeing, or have a picnic. I've been going here since I was a kid, and I got engaged here so it'll always have a place in my heart.

Certainly a beautiful and well maintained area. I went hiking in this area during the winter. And seeing the icy water surrounded by the tall loblolly pines, the red oaks, and the dogwood was certainly a soothing sight. Itโ€™s worth the visit.

Minutes from town, grab a boat, paddle around the corner and see no one long enough to chill for bit.

Definitely worth a visit! Make a quick stop for a breath taking view of the water falls over the dam. Or plan a nice day with your dog or other loved ones walking around the scenic lake, soaking in one of MDs beautiful historic locations.

Fond childhood memories here of fishing, enjoying the outdoors and Maryland nature... Great place to spend a summer weekend day! Old photos of the dam prior to 2005 retrofit and old metal girder bridge in August 1985..

Really appreciate how when I was just let go from my latest round of chemotherapy from the hospital, and wanted to get some fresh air because I was feeling nauseous, really appreciate the two car loads of male officers converging on me and screaming, "NO STOPPING!" and "CAN'T YOU READ?!?!" as I am holding all of my medical paperwork and trying to compose myself from vomiting. You really needed two car loads of male officers to intimidate a young cancer patient trying to get some air. Congratulations Loch Raven Park patrol! Congratulations indeed.

The whole Loch Raven Reservoir watershed area is beautiful. For being so embedded in urban/ suburban area, Loch Raven is a wonderful escape to nature. The reservoir hosts a thriving ecosystem with a multitude of plant and animals.

This is the place i go to, to clear my head . They have benches overlooking the reservoir or you can walk through the walk pathways that were by tourist to get closer to the water . Itโ€™s nice to see people fishing and when the sun reflects off the water itโ€™s the most amazing thing

Really nice place for a walk during the weekends when they close off the road that runs by the lake. They closed off the observation deck that I used to go one when I was a child though โ˜น๏ธ

This is a beautiful fun place to visit. It is peaceful and easy to locate. If you are looking for a place to go for a nice hike, this may be the place for you. In certain places, parking is limited. No play area for children.

I was here on July 3 just to sit , relax and take in the scenery. The area is beautiful with all the large pine trees and water to sit and look at. Apparently though people do not take seriously what the signs said. โ€œNo feeding the wildlife โ€œ is blatantly ignored by families with children carrying bags of bread and other stuff to feed the geese. People sat down with towels in front of the large signs - โ€œNo swimming or even wading in the waterโ€ and just decided they would go in. By the time I contacted management for the reservoir, the people had picked up and gone. The woman on the phone told me itโ€™s dangerous to swim in the water also and said she would send someone to check it out. No one checked it out. Some people are going to abuse the area and ignore the posted signs if they know there is no one patrolling the area. From what i have seen this year ( an abundance of people ignoring the posted rules) , I donโ€™t think things will get better unless the people tasked with patrolling the area really do their jobs. Not sure if I will return at this point

Just gorgeous! Iโ€™ve been going here all my life and there is so much to explore. The only problem is that in the past couple years they really upped the laws and police surveillance:( Itโ€™s really sad that you arenโ€™t allowed to bike back there. Thereโ€™s no need for such laws; everyone there is so nice and respectful!

In terms of quarantine, I would not recommend this place for safety concerns. No one was wearing a mask and it was so crowded that you could not socially distance yourself from anyone. There was no one regulating safety. It's a beautiful park, though.

Good calm place to watch the sunset. Taking one star off for the lights that start strobing at night to deter people. It's unnecessary and annoying

Best of the three main reservoirs, this one has biking and hiking trails around the entire lake. There are ruins of the old town of Warren partially submerged in sections, as well as ruins of an old castle. Great place to bring family, pets, or friends.

Visited the lake one time, and rented a motor boat at a reasonable price. The staff was freindly. The lake offers plenty of fishing on the bank or by boat. We caught bass, yellow perch and pike for our first time out that's not bad. They sell minnows which are tiny crappie sized. Will definitely return.

Very enjoyable view of the lake but many trails are in poor condition. - Not sure I will be hiking there again. - To many better trails on my side of town. Patapsco Valley State Park. (Avalon Area)
