Rude saleswomen. Visiting this place was an uncomfortable and unfortunate experience. We were first greeted by a jewelry craftsman who was polite and attentive to our questions. It was about 20 minutes later that a blonde saleswoman walked in and made some inquiries about our preferences. Her interactions with the jewelry craftsman were abhorrent. On various occasions she treated the jewelry craftsman without any respect. Her condescending behavior towards the jewelry craftsman created a negative and stressful experience as me and my girlfriend were looking for jewelry. We found a much more positive experience at a different jewelry store for our purchase just two blocks away.

Mystique Jewelers goes beyond what the standard jewelers do. A pair of my elderly mother’s gold plate earrings were beloved but no other jeweler would replate them for her. Then an idea struck her: “Try Mystique”. And Voilà, the earrings were as good as new. I have myself had my own “can do” success stories with them since then. I am very grateful to have found such quality service by professionals who can think/work “outside of the box”!

Mystique has exquisite, unique jewelry offered in a upscale, friendly, customer oriented setting in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Payment plans, extended credit, layaway along with an attitude that focuses on customer interest instead of pushing products makes me a devotee of this jewelry boutique. And my jewelry, which is wearable for any occasion...even in the gym i wear at least 2 of my diamond & gold "skinny" bangles... makes me feel good. And the complements are endless!

Very quick and easy. I went in not sure what I wanted and within 15 minutes of assistance I had a ring that I loved and fit perfectly. Ordered on the spot and it arrived in store 3 days later.

Melanie and all the staff at Mystique Jewelers have gone above and beyond in assisting me in repairing/repurposing pieces of inherited jewelry and also advising me on how to go about consigning pieces in my own collection that I no longer wore. We have purchased quite a few pieces from Mystique over the years and have always been happy with the jewelry and the service. So much so that in my recent first novel, "Triangles of Fate," one of the main characters gifts his soon-to-be fiancee with emerald pieces that he tells his intended Liz had helped him select. I used Mystique to get my engagement ring resized. Immediately they used the thermal conductivity tester on the stone, which was already insured. When I went to pick the ring up, Melanie was assisting Ed and Lisa Goeas. She had left their receipt and credit card on the counter while they continued to browse and completely snubbed me. She told me I needed to wait while she followed them around the store. I finally got my ring back and unfortunately when it was being resized the metal wasn't melted back in a uniform circle, and now the ring is uneven.

Melanie is fantastic!!! When it came time to buy an engagement ring for my fiancée, I consulted with multiple jewelers to see who could come the closest to my vision for the ring and who had the best customer experience and price overall. Mystique checked all of these boxes. Their expertise and professionalism was top notch and they were incredible at being transparent and educating me about my choices/requests and how they would affect the physical structure and cost of the ring. As I mentioned above, Melanie was my primary POC and she was an amazing resource. Thanks to her and the quality of the craftsmanship, I had no reservation in coming back to Mystique when it came time to design our wedding bands. It was truly a great experience all around.

I do not recommend Mystique Jewelers for appraisals, consignment, or jewelry adjustments. I had a few items appraised and was presented with 2-3 sentences on a piece of paper (after a number of weeks). I've had many jewelry items appraised for less that were much more thorough. I was also considering selling two rings under consignment, and I was told I would get less than 10% of their appraisal value if they sell. They did not tell me what they would be selling them for. Lastly, I wanted a ring resized, but I only asked for a PRICE first. They took the ring, cut a large chunk out of it, told me it was copper, although it is stamped "925", and that they can't do anything with it. To top it off, they also assured me, "they aren't real opals." Had I been treated with more decency and respect, I would have loved to create a new ring with the "fake" opals in the correct size.

Mystique Jewelers is a wonderful place for a last minute gift and the service is first rate. Melanie will take good care of you with suggestions and ideas.

Earlier this year, I took my watch here for a battery replacement. Worker took it to the back for 10 minutes or so and brought it back to the front stating that I would need to bring it to a watch maker to get the back off. Not a problem, I thanked them! After leaving, I looked more at the watch (which was not scraped or scratched before) and noticed a couple scrapes/scratches. It bothered me less that it happened and more that it wasn’t acknowledged and brought to my attention that the damages occurred. Honesty is important!

I took my wedding band to this cute, custom jewelry boutique in downtown Alexandria hoping they'd be able to resize it. I had been told by another large jewelry store that the ring couldn't be resized because of the custom design, so I hadn't worn it in over six years...since my first pregnancy. Much to my surprise and delight, the jeweler at this store didn't blink twice and had it resized within a few hours!! The attendant was friendly, the price was reasonable and everything felt easy. I will be back for any and all my fine jewelry needs. Both times I was in the shop, young couples were buying gifts and engagement rings for each other. The shop had a very nice selection.

If I could give them more stars I would! I came in with a last minute request and they did not hesitate to take my order. After speaking with a few different jewelers in the area, I chose them to complete the gold plating not only due to fast service but they truly were kind! He told me it would take 2 days to complete but ended up finishing same day!! Awesome

Wow. What can I say? Liz and Melanie run a fantastic store with a family feel. You can sense the passion they have for what they do just upon entering the premises. The Old Town Alexandria location (which is the one I used) is spotless, spacious, light and airy, and is in many ways a jewel in itself. I gave them a custom engraving project and they not only did a spectacular job, but were proactive in keeping me informed as the work progressed--even offering suggestions along the way on how to produce a more dazzling result than what I originally had in mind. Last but not least, their friendliness, their willingness to help, the pride in what they do, and the desire to have you walk away 110% satisfied are palpable and (if I may) quite rare and refreshing for a fast-paced, bustling town like a DC suburb. Two big thumbs up to Liz and Melanie. Don't think twice about getting your jewelry at Mystique.
