In June 2012, 1 charm bracelet was stolen from me, along with other jewelry. The thief, who is now in prison took my jewelry along with the bracelet to Sobo gold. They record the other jewelry with the on line registry as per the law, but not before they mangled three rings and removed the stones (never found). They did not record the bracelet. I visited Sobo gold to see if I could get my bracelet back. I described my situation to the guy behind the counter, Victor. Victor asked me how I hooked up with Brian Thornhill, the guy who stole my jewelry and then went on to say that Brian had a lot of scrapes with the law (I am paraphrasing). I asked how he knew. He showed me Brian's record on the computer screen. I asked him to print it out for me. While I was there, Brian showed up asking for the bracelet back including "Victor, you know you didn't record it. You know I placed it in your hand...". I couldn't believe it. We all got pretty agitated. I was afraid that a gun would be pulled so I left and called the police who did nothing. However, Victor at Sobo Gold knew that Brian was dealing with stolen goods and he did not record my bracelet as per law and didn't return it. I have evidence. Stay away from Sobo Gold. They deal in stolen property. this site doesn't let me use "0" stars. Otherwise I would.

If I could leave a less than half of a star I would! Nasty people running this “business” they will rob you blind, not to mention they offer absolutely NO help when it comes to the stolen property they willingly buy off of people. I will be having multiple people leave reviews to make sure your business is punished for they way it is run! Hope it was worth it 😊

We had silver from family estate to sell off for scrap, called Sobo on Saturday and the person said they buy scrap silver and confirmed they do this in the weekend. We drove there and there was one person in the store and confirmed they do buy scrap silver. Then he looked at our silver took a photo of some of it and sent it to his "Boss" then continued to check it was silver and weigh. Going ok so far. He calculated the amount and was lower than what we had worked out but he explained the silver flatware was bought at a lower rate(not sure why, stirling silver is stirling silver) and these are forks and spoons that are all silver..We were ready to walk out and while we were thinking, he worked out that he didn't have enough money on premisis to pay us anyway.. so called the "boss" to see if he could get more money to him. The "boss" on the phone was telling him that to reduce the percentage on the silver calculator and then told him that he wasn't going to buy the flatware, just the bars we had. Then changed his mind and said he wasn't buying silver at all, but we could come back Monday and he would take us to his "guy" We noped out of there, the poor guy running the shop was very apologetic and oviously the "boss" didn't trust him to identify silver, so why say you buy silver in the weekend. Sounds like the boss wanted to scam us into a lower price when he was there during the week. As we walked out the "boss" called back and asked if we were still there, we just kept going. Happy ending though.. we went somewhere else after that and got a thousand more than his offer so the "boss" lost out and we dodged a bullet...be careful selling here as they low ball you.

I know gold and pawn shops are notoriously shady but this place takes the cake. They buy and sell stolen goods then get crazy and threaten people when they speak up or ask about THEIR items that they still legally own.

This place DOUBLED what the other places were offering. Everything was on the up and up. Friendly customer service, Rare hard to find items, Very nice experience, very comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be doing business here again. 5 Stars in my book

I’m actually shocked reading the negative reviews. The prices they pay are way more fair than most around . The guy who helped me was very nice and professional. The equipment they have is amazing, no sitting there watching them do acid tests and staring through a loop for an hour, they have actual x-ray metal identification equipment that had me in and out in less than 10 minutes. They don’t sneakily hide the calculator like most around here. Or throw that penny weight nonsense at you when you ask the percentage they pay. It was so straightforward.You can see everything he is doing on the screen and explains every step he takes so it’s transparent. I was hesitant To go here because it was 2 stars now I am so glad I gave them a shot. I will be doing all my business with them from now on. If I could give them more stars I absolutely would. Thank you Sobo, I will spread the word by mouth that you are definitely a good choice for business.

I don’t know the situations others have been through with this Shop. But I can say that this is a great place to go for the fair prices they offer. I had a gold necklace that I wanted to sell and they gave me the best price up front before negotiation (of course I talked them to a higher price anyway lol). Not to mention the customer service was exceptional. If I ever find any more gold, they will be the first place I go. It’s unfortunate that one “experience” can do so much damage to a business that, from my experience, deserves a much higher rating. Don’t count this place out! Go to them!

Don't understand how anyone could give a bad review about this business. I had a very pleasant experience - great customer service - employee was incredibly respectful to me. The transparency of how they price the gold is above board and completed right in front of you. I will definitely return. Thank you gentlemen, it was a pleasure.

Best place and pays more then anyone else.

The gentleman helped run the store should not be helping to run this place. He is very unknowledgeable and was very ignorant person to try sell too. Had some awesome collectibles Wanted nothing to do with my stuff and while in front of me he sold a coin and broken jewelry and tried give me same price for my good stuff. Very bad businessmen and the Better Business Bureau needs to get involved.

Made a few coin sales and all were quick and painless and, more importantly IMO, TOP $$$. Very easy to work with and even bought some coins that I think he would have rathered pass. Even took time out of his day to explain how certain coins are graded and. NEVER had that happen!!!

Dude at the counter didn't know what he was talking about when it came to my coins, definitely offers way too low for what you have.
