The rooms are nicely laid out. Pretty modern looking. The location is convenient. The food was good enough but the price was high for what you get. The counter service was fine but not enthusiastic or welcoming. I had better service at the Marriott down the street. The room cleaners were thorough so that part of the service was excellent.

Had dinner at the Waterfront Restaurant recently and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. Had the Celebrity sushi platter as well as the Octopoiseidon roll and pepper shrimp. The garlic bread in that spicy sauce was incredible. The drinks were tasty. The ambiance is gorgeous. We enjoyed the chill night air with its perfect location on the Port-of-Spain waterfront. I received a complementary slice of cake and balloon, and the server sang "Happy Birthday". The service was great except for a 30 minute wait for the bill. After we finished eating we were just sitting, waiting for the server, but he never returned to check up on us or ask if we needed anything else. We had to ask another employee to locate him because we wanted to pay and leave. Overall it was great and would definitely return.

I love the Hyatt. I was immediately sold on the ambience, the live music and the sea front views. The staff are courteous and very patient. I got so caught up in everything that I did not take enough pictures. The food was excellent. I did Asian because I absolutely love Asian food. While I was not impressed with the Long Island Ice Tea, the other drinks were to die for. I fell in love with the sofa seats, the artwork, the light fixtures. I did not want to leave! It's one of those things, if you have the opportunity to do it, go ahead and have that experience.

Despite an overall pleasant experience, the hotel fell short of my expectations for a 5-star rating. Significant improvements, especially in room quality and the pool area, are needed, and the lack of basic amenities was noticeable. Regrettably, the condition seems to have deteriorated since my last stay over five years ago. Nevertheless, it remains a relatively better choice when visiting Port-of-Spain.

Place was clean and staff was super professional to the point I actually felt like the staff serving me was family. My experience was based on being a guest at a wedding and not business or vacation accommodation. I gave the location 3 stars because I am from south and it would be nice to have one in the southern region. It's a bit annoying that everything nice seems to always need to be built in Port of Spain. Please decentralize.

The room was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was great. Prices for lunch and dinner are a little high but to be expected at a business hotel. The staff are super friendly and courteous. Conference room and ballroom areas are very spacious and allow for large groups. Great experience overall.

Fairly poor service throughout our stay. Food was average, crab sushi is crab sticks, cocktails were sweet, room smelt of damp (no air flow), just a sheet separates the duvet (it's not in a duvet case), glass door on toilet. We wanted to sit on the terrace in the shade after having lunch in the hotel and being a guest "sorry we are setting up for dinner you can't sit here" "but its 4pm?!" Blank response. No one seems that bothered about the guests. I wouldnt stay here again.

Visited for dinner on the beautiful water front setting. Absolutely lovely with the sunset. Food was of high quality and drinks above average. Will visit again when dining in Trinidad.

Just breakfast at the Hyatt. We sat outside at the water front. It was so beautiful and soothing. There was a wide variety of food choices. Our server Amanda was great, no request was too much. Will definitely visit again.

Hello management, and staff of the Hyatt Regency, the view is truly immaculate. Wanted to express my total satisfaction for the excellent 5 star service to my mom Rita Simon on her birthday, my mom seem so happy as she is accompanied by my sister Judith along with my niece and nephews. The beautiful ocean water in the background a huge plus. Thanks again respectfully.

If you want to feel as if you're on a vacation away from home...the Hyatt is the place to go...the service is truly great...even though we were locals, our service was the same. Having stayed at other Hyatt hotels in Orlando and Dubai, the service here was just as pleasant. Will, definitely, be visiting again.

I was very disappointed with the service at the Hyatt restaurant in Port of Spain Trinidad. The waiter arrived to take our orders but never returned and we did not receive our drinks or food for about an hour and a half. We finally had to get someone's attention to check on our orders. Our original waiter never returned. There was never really any good service or follow up after we finally did receive our drinks and food. Several of our party were on a deadline as they had late flights to catch. The gave us some fries for the wait but that didn't really help. They never offered to refill our drinks. The food did not all arrive at the same time. There was never any concern from the staff. Only one person finally helped us get our orders. There was no visit from a manager to apologize or nothing. I would have expected better service at a high end hotel restaurant. This bad experience has left a lasting impression on me. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars Recommendation: I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was not bad, but the service was so poor that it ruined the entire experience. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Port of Spain, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Great hotel. Beautiful rooms and nice gym. Terrific rooftop pool. Breakfast buffet was great, but service was nearly non existent. Server came by for the first time with coffee after I had already finished my breakfast.

Beautiful experience. I got 2 balloons, one for dinner and one for breakfast for my birthday both were really surprising . The staff sang for me at breakfast that was something. Didn't get to enjoy the pool because of the weather but I'll be back.

Very nice hotel with a beautiful view over the ocean. The staff every where in the hotel was very friendly. Delicious breakfast. The rooms are clean and the beds are good. Swimming in the pool with the beautiful view over the ocean was amazing!

Great location in the port of spain overlooking the ocean. The rooms were neat and functional and their staff were friendly. Loved having coffee and sandwiches at the cafe downstairs. Lovely infinity pool overlooking the ocean was always full.

Great amazing hotel. Sushi is perfect and food in general. Great view. I would not recommend to walk out of the hotel at nightime or with the family unless is on the boardwalk adjacent to it. Service is not great as usual on the Caribbean Islands.

One of the best hotels in Trinidad for business leisure. Overpriced, not up to standards. Meaning that the rooms and overall inside the hotel needs to be updated or renovated. It deteriorated and is fusty. Service is amazing in the restaurant. Frontdesk not so much, they need more finesse. Best of the worst hotels in Trinidad.

The ambience is magnificent (obviously), but the most outstanding thing for me was the service. From the hostess that greeted us, to the staff members who kept checking on us, the staff was beyond excellent. The food was exceptional

I typically stay at the Hyatt when I take short trips to Trinidad. After visiting Hyatt hotels worldwide, I don't think the Trinidad Hyatt cab compare in terms of decor, amenities, and especially service. While I don't currently live in TT, I'm a national so I'm familiar with the service culture. It's disappointing that this transcends into an international hotel with a very high standard. Over the years, there are so many things to be desired which I usually provide feedback on directly with Hyatt. From greetings upon arrival, having preferred rooms not being ready upon arrival, attitudes of staff (mostly at the welcome desk and pool area), very bland breakfast menu and other incidents, that is my typical experience when visiting. It's so disappointing, especially the pool. The pool is small and usually very crowded. The pool bar service is not very good. I don't think over the years of my stay the jacuzzi has ever worked. All that being said, I still think Hyatt is one of the best hotels in Trinidad because of location, rooms, and restaurants. While my completely up to international standards, it's okay enough to have a comfortable stay.

Lyndon, our waiter, was very polite and professional. Did take a while to get our drinks, but the ambiance is spectacular. Best spot in POS to just sit and relax.

I visited the waterfront area to view a Cruise Ship leave Harbor, but to my surprise the entire area was not properly lit, luckily there was light illuminating from a Tug Boat which was anchored alongside the jetty otherwise the area would of been pitch black. Now i say this to say not to long ago approximately two weeks ago a couple was robbed of their valuables in that same said area, they were enjoying an evening of Fishing when they were attacked,i didn't even notice a Police/Security Presence in and around this said area,we need to make this thing make sense people, hope the powers whom be can look into this serious matter,we have a good thing going in the sense of scenery, let's try and preserve it.....

We visited the hotel's lobby restaurant for a dine in experience to celebrate an occasion. The experience was pleasant from the beginning 'til the end. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and was probably one of the most memorable part of the night. There were many seating options, from the outdoor, under the stars at the waterfront area where you can view the ocean and the many boats and ships at sea, to the indoor in the air conditioned area where there was a beautiful entertainer filling the room with her amazing voice. We had a walkabout the area and everywhere felt cosy. If you have the extra coin in your pocket I would definitely recommend a visit.

I love everything about this hotel. Hyatt Regency is keeping the bar of service quality and hospitality high and consistent . Their sushi is great , sea views are excellent and overall ambiance is fantastic. I mostly there for business, but as a little get away his hotel is perfect too

As usual, Hyatt did not disappoint! Check in was a breeze. The room was great. I visited with my family and needed a crib for the baby and same was provided to me in a timely manner. Also, the Breakfast was wonderful. A variety of options! Will definitely visit again.

This hotel never fails to provide the finest customer service, relaxation, entertainment and comfort each and every time I'm there. It was a pleasure + celebration weekend with some business infused in it. It was a delight to spend my birthday weekend here , my kids totally enjoyed it . Thank you for providing our needs while we were there.

Went here for my honeymoon back in 2021. The rooms were really nice and up to this day me and my wife cannot get over how comfortable the bed and pillows were. Defined would recommend if you want a stay at a more modern hotel. Also ideal if you want to just get away from everything and chill in the rooms.

Always really great customer service. The food is crazy expensive, but that's most of Port of Spain I guess. Half the time I can't see out of the windows though... probably my only complaint really other than food prices. Rooms are nice though, great shower, and really good customer service.

  • 5/5 Jamel L. 1 year ago on Google
The staff are the benchmark of service excellence and have set the bar very high for other properties to follow. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The only suggestion I have would be to remove the carpeting from the rooms and hallways as it tends to make the areas feel stuffy and smell at times. All in all Hyatt is the place to stay in Port of Spain.

Not a good location and not a good hotel. It advertises a lot how upmarket it is but the sad fact is that the food is average at best at ASTRONOMICAL prices and it's also a limited poor choice IMO. The location is really poor, middle of an industrial port are with absolute nothing around! . Sea view is of a grubby port. Room was not cleaned and left a tray of room service food smelling all day - no logical reason for not cleaning my room, horrible to come back after a long day's work to find they didn't clean the room!! - amazing, appalling for what they are promoting and charging!!!

Luke (server at breakfast) did his best to make me and my family comfortable. The room was as advertised, except when I got in to the shower there were bits of soap left on the floor. This made me wonder if the rest of the room was cleaned the same way. Staff is friendly and the hotel was well kept.

This hotel should be on your list if you’re coming to Port of Spain, Trinidad. Rooms are very well maintained and clean. The hotel staff are nice and professional. The hotel has a great breakfast where you can sit out by the water. Very peaceful. Also has a bar for evenings.

We enjoyed our stay here for the most part. Our only complaints were: room wasn't kid friendly the toilet area and shower with its glass doors frosted only mid panel didn't offer much privacy when your teen is traveling with you. Our requested 20th floor room's "view" was ruined by an absolutely filthy window! We paid extra to use club dining. Though the staff was very nice and friendly, and while the service was convenient and available for breakfast, it wasn't anything to write home about...

We went to the #147 black belt grading for Purple Dragon. The ballroom was very big but with the amount of guests and students it was quickly filled. The staff is very friendly, there are lots of space to park but sometimes you ha e to go up to floor 6. The food was really good but a little pricey. The sushi bar is affordable but the rolls are small for the price. The barista was really overpriced.

The location while on the water and beautiful made it a bit difficult to walk anywhere. Service was amazing! We arrived on a red eye and were offered a room at 9AM. So greatly appreciated to catch a few winks. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel. Both were delicious but the quality of the sushi was particularly good and somewhat unexpected in the Caribbean.

It was worth every penny. If you're a person who needs a hotel that caters to a fast-paced business lifestyle; this is it. They were able to properly balance being professional, courteous and personal without being intrusive. The location was good for me based on what I required but I could see how it would not be ideal in all scenarios.

I have stayed here a couple times. The buffet breakfast is top of the line with both local and continental cuisine. Staff awaits with a special culturally infused birthday greeting for customers celebrating their big day.

My visit to the hotel was business. A law class in the San Fernando room. Great layout, temperature perfect and comfortable. Secured parking and the staff helpful and pleasant. A day well spent both in company and knowledge.

Not great value. HYATT seems to have gotten complacent. The rooms are not well ventilated, and the view is not always great. The food is overpriced. The location does not make HYATT unique as there are more cost beneficial competitors nearby. The customer service at the restaurant is great. Front desk staff can be more pleasant. On balance, the value is not great because the main thing you pay for is a room and if that aspect leaves a lot to be desired, then the overall rating must plummet.

Taking advantage of members perks is ideal at this Hyatt Regency location. The waterfront view is ideal, and highly recommended. The additional perk of complimentary water and late check-out were highly appreciated. The toiletries were luxurious. I was expecting the hair products to be a shampoo conditioner duo, but it was only shampoo. Highly recommend bringing conditioner, especially if you frequent the infinity pool. The safe did malfunction by day 2, but with the hotel busy with activity during FIFA and Christmas functions, it was not serviced during my 5 day stay. Cleaning services do arrive promptly at 9am on the 11th floor. Another recommendation is putting the privacy tag on the door on the first night if you're trying to catch up on sleep. It was an abrupt awakening the first morning but the solution was easy. The gym is small, but the equipment is modern and enjoyable to use. The chilled towels at the refreshment station were a nice touch.

Overall we enjoyed this little 2 night vacation. Baby had fun in the pool and the staff was really friendly and accommodating from the cleaner to the front desk. Special mention to sushi chef Richard for making mini sushi for my 2 yr old. Dexston and Kareem at the front desk were extremely friendly and understanding. Your kindness was much appreciated. First time trying room service and I have to admit the quality was really good so I'll definitely be ordering in again.

Nice chain hotel with a great professional staff on hand for your every need. There is a restaurant on site as well as a Sushi Bar and an outdoor grill. There’s an infinity pool on the 4th floor. 4 elevators so no waiting for one. There’s a coffee bar available, there’s a massage service available. All was fairly priced with the exception of the breakfast. I believe that the room espresso machines need to be descaled because the water amount that came out was insufficient. BatesX3 from Kansas City had a memorable stay.

I have attended quite a number of conferences and dinners at this venue. The food is always good and the staff are always useful and friendly. Parking could be an issue if the event is large enough and during the day since the car park has a number of reserved spots for persons working in the towers next door. There restaurant bar is a cool place for drinks and I am not a huge fan of sushi but I heard from friends that it's excellent.

Mothers Day weekend breakfast was a nightmare. It took close to 40 minutes in line to get to the Breakfast buffet. The Breakfast was overbooked, and as a guest, I was thoroughly disappointed.

Awful experience in a nasty hotel - I would give zero stars if I could. First of all, I got an email inviting me to do online check-in. Did it at around noon on the day of my reservation, and the site said the room was ready. I called to confirm and the person who answered informed that “online check-in doesn’t work” and I can’t check in before 3pm. So why did I get an email to check in online? But fine, I showed up at 3pm, and checked in as normal. Went to the room (Regency King Suite), and it looked as though the previous guest had literally just left. There was old food still out, the beds weren’t made, and there was still trash in the bins. Told this to the front desk staff, and neither the man who checked us in nor his supervisor seemed like they were particularly bothered or surprised at the disgusting state of the room they put us in — no apologies, no effort to compensate us for the extreme inconvenience and lack of professionalism. Eventually they told me that we had to wait an unknown amount of time while they cleaned the room. They invited us to wait in the lounge, which we did, but they failed to mention that there would be no food and no lights on — just a few employees sitting down and old talking. We decided to sit in the lobby for about 10 minutes (which was also disgusting with stained couches and a discarded vape pen) before finally getting fed up and deciding to ask for a refund and leave. This hotel stay was supposed to be a gift for a mom, an opportunity for her to finally relax and get away from all her responsibilities for a while. And instead we were greeted with a dirty hotel, and staff that seemed to have no idea what to do.

The parking lot needs lighting. It is too dark during the night. The rooms should have an option whether the customer wants a bathtub or a shower for their bathroom. Otherwise, the stay was lovely. The window was blocking the view as it was foggy but it was made up for by free breakfast for one.
