Important temple located in the middle of the island. The first time is the resting Buddha statue. This statue is large and offers beautiful details. It also has a lot of very striking statues and surprising beauty. The temple is large and has a large pagoda and many small houses where monks live. If you are in the area of โ€‹โ€‹Monument Circle, I recommend visiting this temple. Enjoy Phuket! Enjoy Thailand!

Reclining or sleeping Buddha. Place easy to miss or drive by. You can see the reclining Buddha from the road

Wat Sri Sunthon is not special and common for Thailand. But if you traveling just to Phuket is good idea to visit this worship. It is not so touristic as Big Buddha or Way Chalong. But here is very quiet and not crowded with hundreds of loudly tourist groups. Big image of Reclining Buddha is nice and main building Vihan is traditional.

An inspiring place to visit - not really a tourist place but for an escape from the hustle and bustle - and looking to pay respect - it is certainly that place here

Temple of the Tuesday Buddha. Just recently learned that the seven Buddhaโ€™s postures and gestures have a corresponding connection to the day of the week and as someone born on a Tuesday, I was thrilled to find a temple near our home that corresponds to my day of birth. The reclining Buddha or otherwise known as the Tuesday Buddha is the main highlight of Wat Sri Sunthon, a temple quietly tucked right by one of the busiest main thoroughfares of Phuket plied by vehicles going to the airport or leaving the island through Sarasin Bridge. Most locals zoom past through this area that not many even know of its existence. But when you manage to take a chance and explore its surroundings, the reclining Buddhaโ€™s presence as it serenely rests with the sky as its backdrop is quite rewarding. Colourful statues and Thai iconographies also dot the area, making it an interesting stop on your way to catch your flight or simply as a visit on its own.

A very nice temple with a big reclining Buddha, the biggest on Phuket.

A huge golden coloured statue of the reclining Buddha along with other Buddhist iconography in the precincts, including a centrally located one of Bodhisattva, this place is easily accessible, but does not seem to be frequently visited. Clean and quiet, it is a place to offer silent prayer.

This temple had an interesting story regarding the founder. He was a merchant survived from strom. Previously he was from another religious and turned to Buddhist monk after landfall at the present location of this temple.

Nice temple with reclining Buddha on top of the building. Beside this building there is a beautiful temple. However we couldn't enter it as the door was closed.

๐Ÿ˜  Donโ€™t go here if you are not Thai.... they overcharge you with a dual pricing system! How ungrateful for the business of foreigners, especially those who live in Thailand. Stay away!
