As ever, service in Thailand is impeccable so my stay was relaxing and comfortable. Due to coronavirus not all restaurants were open but to offset that other restaurants were not busy so it proved easy to find a table anywhere. Dusit Thani sits on a perfect white sand beach with clear warm water and the daytime temperature was a steady 31°c A most enjoyable holiday and I will return

I must say it was an incredible experience, the breathtaking view from the hotel was simply mesmerizing. Having three different restaurants with a variety of cuisines adds another layer to the overall experience. It’s great to have diverse options to cater to different tastes. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were not only incredibly helpful but also exceptionally friendly throughout our stay.

Room View and Services are AAA. Very attentive staff. Many nice view for taking snapshot. Big comfortable room. Love everything. Edward who is the front office manager deserves a special mention, ask him anything about restaurants in town, information about sandbox and he will be there to assist you. He makes you feel at home in his hotel by making sure you are well looked after.
Thank you Edward and your team for making my stay most comfortable and enjoyable. I really couldn't fault your hotel or service!!! Keep it up guys and I'll be back again:) Overall everything are great but the room sevice food are somehow expensive compare to other 5stars hotel.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Beautiful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Cleaned daily. Rooms have tea/coffee makings. Hairdryer. Bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and extras such as cotton buds. Hotel is right on the beach with a few bars/ restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk along it. Staff are very professional and friendly. Loved it here, ideal if you want to just relax, quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful place! Definitely enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Unlike many of the other places we visited in Thailand, it is very apparent that they are trying to maintain the property so that it can continue to look amazing! The staff was great I'm willing to go above and beyond to make sure you were taken care of. Although the room was beautiful, I believe that the bathroom could be a little update to match the rest of the property.

(Edit: My review is if the pool villa experience. I interacted with other guest that stayed in regular rooms and they seemed to have less challenges.) Most things that were sub par about this resort had more to do with the fact that it is very old than that the service was bad. Our 2 bedroom pool villa was in an alarming state of disrepair. Every room had several items that were either broken or just filthy. Some sockets didn’t work, lights that would not stay on, screen doors that didn’t close all the way, curtains and blinds that just needed to be replaced because they were so dirty. Two of the aircon units were as loud as jet engines. The basement bedrooms were constantly damp and smelled of mold. Several lights were broken on the pool deck and the outside showered didn’t work. Even the lock on the front door was broken when we arrived. It took them two visits to get it working. The issues didn’t stop at the villa. Beach/pool furniture was filthy as were the towels they gave out, there were ants everywhere the gym equipment was old and looked like it had never been cared for. Room attendants came in twos or sometimes threes and you could see them putting in the effort to clean. Overall I would rate the cleaning staff as good and the service staff as satisfactory. There were no standouts however and there was no “excellent” service. A few times when I asked for things (extra towel at the pool, takeaway container at the bar, mayo at breakfast) I was told where to get it myself rather than someone getting it for me. Also there was an annoying recurring theme of staff going out of their way to let you know that they were accommodating you. “Sir I will have to go all the way to another kitchen” or “I will have to go to another cleaning closet to get that for you”. Only after asking a second or third time would the staff fulfill my request. Not terrible but not what I think of as 5 star service. The food was OK, not great but there were a few items that were tasty. There’s no in room breakfast but if you push hard enough they will bring you items from the buffet to your villa. The pool and beach servers were obviously inexperienced. I could see that being a result of the pandemic. Perhaps they aren’t able to secure quality staffing for all departments? Some of the restaurants weren’t open but the ones that were had average to good service. Bartenders were not great everywhere on the property other than the main lounge. I eventually just stuck to beer and simple drinks that couldn’t be messed up. You can see in the “bones” of this resort that it was probably spectacular in its day. It really has the potential to be outstanding. The location alone is amazing and the staff appear to be doing their best. Father Time is undefeated though. This place needs updating in the worst way. We still had a great stay but won’t be back unless there is a major overhaul.

Hotel was dated and tired. There is one pool with an old and dirty water slide and old lounge chairs around it. The towels were frayed, rooms felt tidy but not clean. The staff was lovely but this hotel did not meet our expectations at all. I expected a much higher standard for the price and reputation.

Had a wonderful stay here just before Christmas. Perfect place for people wanting a beautiful, peaceful cordoned off beach, beach massage ladies on hotel grounds and very helpful and friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment (talented singer) and the atmosphere of the hotel. Prestige shopping, night market and great restaurants nearby at Boat Avenue. Great cocktails and Thai food at the hotel. The afternoon tea included with club rooms was also delicious. General store, currency exchange, pharmacy and medical centre just outside hotel (2 minutes walk). Pool was lovely temperature and staff actively removed towels from sunbeds not being used. Always plenty for guests. Hope to return!

Great stay with very peaceful as it was not high season. Very friendly team at swimming pool area, breakfast restaurant team, housekeeper as well as porters. The room was quite dated but not old. Location is quite far from busy town so if you want to stay near by then this is not you should stay but if you want to have relax and enjoy the beach then perfect choice. Also, this huge property has plenty of walking around space.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Located in a beautiful area with private beach. Hotel facilities are also very nice including the pool, gym and restaurants. The breakfast also covered a lot of food selection, although I have had breakfast buffet with even more food selection, the quality and services are definitely among the top. However, I can see that the hotel is quite old, for example, room furniture, toilet and shower equipment, air con, etc. The room and hotel was 100% clean, but I would say they require some degree of upgrade.

The customer experience was catastrophic. - the baby cot supporting frame collapsed during the nap of our 2 years old girl leaving her and the bed frame suddenly on the ground in cry. Luckily she was not injured - found cockroach in the room. Asked the cleaning staff to come. They fail to come quickly so i went out to take the insect spray from a nearby maid and went to kill it and dispose it myself. - our daughter was sick and vomiting from carbonara cooked with definitely expired cream from Laguna restaurant - room floor was sandy upon check-in - we call to clean the room between 9 and 11 am when we're away, back at 11.30, the room is not done. you always needed to remind things 3 times to get it done - we ask for timetable of boat service through Laguna and were told it starts at 9 am, we walk there with the kids to learn that it starts at 10 am. Thank for you for the 30 min waste of time. - the phone number of the hotel, only one provided on the website, on google maps, on the restaurants, etc. doesn't even connect the line. You're left with no way to communicate with the hotel when you are outside. Facebook messenger read my message but answer after 10 min. - i keep minor unpleasant details out of this review to keep it short Apart from this, - The rooms are ok but need to be refurbished slightly. Old sliding windows hardly close and leave a space open (at least in our room) - the pool is great with kids toys - the beach is great - the "kids club" is a 16m2 room with some toys and clearly outdated. The staff was very nice though. - the gym is about 60m2 for an hotel with maybe 200 rooms or more, it seems so strange. Machines are relatively old. - breakfast is good - room service food is average - everything that is not in direct view of the customer seems to be not well maintained - the staff is kind in general, simply not well managed Quality lies in the details and quality was not there. Rating this hotel a 5 star hotel is abnormal. We got refunded so we appreciate the effort of the hotel in trying to fix it but i would have rather have paid and enjoyed a memorable family trip instead. We won't travel to Dusit Thani anymore.

Hotel is in a nice environment but the room and facilities is aging. Swimming pool is a bit small for resort this size but sufficient. Staffs are very nice but they don’t always do what they smilingly say they will do. We had a bad air con water leak in the room that drained down to the closet. My clothes were all wet and smelly. It was already late at night so we told the front desk to have it fixed the next day. We went out early in the morning to return at night, the water still dripping, floor all wet, closet still wet. 10pm next night and not fixed despite the maid cleaning the room. I had to asked the hotel to clean my clothes which I left in a laundry bag in the middle of the room. Again back at night and the laundry bag in the middle of the room is still there! Still I have to ware shirts from the first day of arrival. At this point the management seems like a big joke.

I have only been here 2 days but I've already fell in love with the country and its wonderful people. The Dusit Thank is exactly as it advertises, the staff are lovely, professional and courteous and a credit to the hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always smiling and making you feel so welcome. The room is fantastic, spacious, clean and welcoming, it's everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel

Spent 5 wonderful nights at this resort. Staff were exceptional, beautiful gardens and pool. Situated right on the beach, several bars and restaurants along the beach. Shuttle service between resorts and into town. Would happily stay there again.

This is a lovely & beautiful hotel right on the beach. It’s obvious that the maintenance is high to ensure that the property always looks amazing. It’s a peaceful & relaxing place with many different options of activities & restaurants inside the property. Beautiful big comfortable rooms with amazing views plus with whatever you may need such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer & tea/coffee makings. And cleaned daily. An outstanding outdoor area with a calming forest & green lawns. Many nice view for taking pictures. Laundry service inside & along the beach. Massage service & gym. The beach is made for long walks & the pool is outstanding with its turquoise coloured water. And excellent entertainment the whole week with a small jazz band. It’s very easy to love everything. The remaining memory will be the absolutely amazing staff & management. It’s something that any facility could learn from. Thailand has the kindest people on earth.

A lovely hotel. Around a 40 minute taxi ride from the airport. Great staff and reasonably priced food and drinks. We only stayed 4 nights as a stop off on our way from NZ. Would return.

Stayed there for 4 nights. Its a rustic hotel that's been there for a while. My family and I loved it! They did their best to upkeep the place and is doing a good job all thing considered after few years of Covid shutdown. Its location is awesome, by Bang Tao beach side, few eateries and beach clubs nearby, Family Mart just right outside and near the Laguna cluster of shops. It's away from the Patong madness which was important for us. Service is fantastic too! Shout out to Edward for helping us to print out documentations.

This review will be based on the facilities of the hotel as I didn't necessarily stay at the hotel as I was in Angsana Villas but we got access to the hotel facilities. So the environment is great and clean, the staff was really nice, warm and welcoming. The service was also great though if your ordering food to eat on the beach the service is really slow. It took them approx 10 mins to just get us a menu and 45 mins for food. But to me it is better than average and it deserves a 5 star.

Was a bit disappointed on check in as we were given a room that looked totally different from the one in the website. We were shifted to another, it had a good view, however not what we were expecting. Nevertheless, our stay was comfortable and most of the staff members were friendly and nice. The property is well with very easy access. The Christmas tree lighting was an event which brought cheers and joy to the hotel.

A spacious hotel with shady pine trees. The rooms seem a bit old; the AC is noisy, and our non-smoking room had a constant smell of smoke. However, I loved the orchid decorations, and the overall ambiance with pine trees was relaxing. The hotel offers Thai massage, and breakfast, especially the cheese station, had plenty of choices.

Very nice place next to the sea. The rooms are very well decorated and the service and welcome in the hotel is also very good. Easy transportation with baki cars and very good food. We only had a small flood one night, but the staff fixed everything very quickly. I definitely recommend this hotel!

I’m very pleased to have stayed here during my holiday in Phuket. The hotel though is not new, is very well maintain. There are lots of beautiful orchids in the lobby area. I had a room facing the lake & it was lovely to hear the birds chirping in the morning. Service was great from airport transfer, front office, bell boy, housekeeping, in-room dining to dining in the restaurant. Rung was especially attentive at breakfast & brought me a bucket of ice to the room very promptly when asked. The GM even walks around at breakfast to greet guests & help clear the table - this says a lot about the culture here. There’s lots of outdoor space & activities for children too - the swimming pool, with water feature, camping & camp fire ground, mini rock climbing etc. The beach is just steps away from the resort - so nice to hear the waves & smell the sea breeze. The mango sticky rice is a must eat. They were so good, I had to eat it every day. The resort also has handicap friendly rooms should you need - this is so thoughtful. I would return! ;)

The experience overall was nice. The hotel is near the sea with an amazing view. The staff was very kind and ready to help in many challenges that we coped with in this trip. However our complain is that we weren't informed about some issues beforehand. Like the amount of humidity and how it has to be a freezing temperature inside the room all the time unless you want to live in splashing water etc. Anyway we had good time there and we appreciate all the efforts to accommodate us!!

The staff are very helpful and polite. I loved the grounds, which included a lovely pond with lilly pads. The pool has lane lines on the bottom for swimmers, but the pool is pretty warm. The trees by the beach and pool drop a lot of needles, but do provide shade. Nice rooms but slightly dated.

  • 3/5 Fran L. 2 years ago on Google
Nice location on the beach, however this is not a 5-star resort, more like 3.5 stars. Rooms are ok, quite basic and definitely showing signs of age. Not a lot of atmosphere. The Laguna area is a bit like a closed estate so I didn’t love the vibe here at all. Stuck around for a few hours after checking in and decided to move to a different part of Phuket instead so can’t comment on what it’s like a night.

Want the best? Forget the rest! Can't wait to return to this hotel.Superb Management, friendly staff, fabulous seafood, extensive breakfast menu, clean and comfy rooms, live music in the lounge where you will be greeted by Miss Personality herself, Ging. This hotel has more to offer Westerners than any other we have experienced in Thailand. The hotel is about 30 years old but is well maintained and just keeps giving of it's best.Highly recommend for a stress-free holiday and we will most definitely return next year.Every staff member from Gardeners up greet you with the smile we are familiar with in Thailand. Put this one on your bucket list.Any minor issues are resolved immediately. Enjoy a massage on the beach or spend lazy days by the gleaming pool where the Pool Boys will treat you like VIPS.Lots of great deck chairs to share under umbrellas and you can do as little or as much as you wish.Five star service everywhere at this hotel.10/10 for a great vacation.

Having selected the hotel for our honeymoon we were initially not that happy with unexpectedly not being recognised as honeymooners. However then the sides turned and we have received the best and really the best service and hospitality you can ever imagine for a honeymoon. The room was decorated so nicely with direct garden and beach access, the team was the best you can image and the bbq and especially romantic dinner was more then stunning. (Make sure you reserve a CLUB room whatever you do as this really makes a difference). The hotel is nicely situated at the Laguna direct as the beach, close the golf course and with a shuttle to the next village (basically it brings you the main gate and then it’s a small walk to town). However even at the beach there are many restaurants if you have not enjoyed the hotels great food selections) Again thanks to Edward, the Trattoria F&B head, our great BBQ cook at the romantic dinner and the entire staff!!!

Dusit Thani where is located in laguna zone that complex hotels are surrounded by taking a shuttle bus. All the staffs performed friendly, excellent work to make your feel heartwarming, particularly shout out to Edward who is very welcoming, kind enough to have great impression on first stage. Thanks again for hotel upgrading to a beach front room, having a sumptuous breakfast and sadly we are not have much time to enjoy facilities. Will be revisit to experienced such a great Dusit journey.

Excellent sunset views at the beach, great breakfast at Trattoria (club benefits) and friendly accommodating staff were the highlights of our stay. The club king rooms we had were probably the best in the hotel! Bang on the beach, spacious rooms and outdoor seating area. The local vendors at the beach were selling drinks, water sports and taxi bookings. They had stalls and didn’t hinder the experience for guests, a welcome change. Why 4 stars then? - while the rooms are renovated, swimming pool is not. It’s old and it shows. The beach while great wasn’t so clean and the small sharp objects falling from the trees make it impossible to walk barefoot. The dining options are limited and the Italian was average. These minor gripes aside, we had a pleasant time at the hotel.

Service was warm, friendly and discreet. Food poolside was good, cocktails at sunset lovely. Pool and kids activities was fun. Nearby eatery on the beach had great local dishes. Beach very clean, lots of deck chairs and shady tall casuarinas and coconut trees.

Very friendly staff and a beautiful hotel complex. The Two-Bedroom Pool Villa is perfect. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms connect with the garden. Above, the living, dining and kitchen areas open onto the terrace. And on the rooftop is the private pool. A real paradise.

Excellent hotel - great staff who are very welcoming and attentive. It’s a beautifully well designed and well placed - with a nice mix of Thai culture and western influences. Located right on the beach, with lots of activities you in do or just relax by the poolside. it’s well worth the visit.

  • 3/5 Wim V. 1 year ago on Google
Nicely situated but outdated and in need of maintenance. Rooms are small and noisy especially because of movement of furniture in adjacent rooms. Breakfast is good with great choice. This hotel, how nice it may be, is not worth 5 stars.

  • 5/5 Shirley F. 1 year ago on Google
This is a lovely hotel right on the beach. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday, we highly recommend this hotel. We were put in a room far away from the front entrance which was a bit of a walk for elderly guests but a minor point. Even though the Thai restaurant was closed we were able to order delicious Thai food from the Italian restaurant. Our only concern was the lack of supervision at the pool. Self-indulgent guests were taking alcoholic drinks into the pool. This is dangerous. My husband told the towel guy and the guests were told to keep the drinks on the side.

It wasn't anything special. Rooms were pretty much on par with the Angsana or Saii property nearby. The grounds are pretty but the hallways feel dated and could use a new coat of paint. The only thing that made me this place deserve 2 stars is the staff. Check-in was easy but they never showed us to our room or even point out where breakfast was for instance. I love a good hotel breakfast, but it is one of the things that can easily disappoint me. Well, the breakfast here looked decent from the little I saw of it. We had a late night out and slept in till 10 am and went down to breakfast by 1030. We assumed 1030 would be fine since on the room card envelope thing it says the restaurant hours. In this case, it says from 6-11 am. Since reception never told us we thought the printed info we did get would be accurate. Stupid us. Upon finding the breakfast location at 1030 the staff we already tearing down all of the breakfast stations. I asked why and that's when I was finally told the correct breakfast hours. Sure surprised us especially since it was spot on 1030 and over half the food was stacked on top of each other and about to be wheeled away to the kitchen. I've just never experienced that from a hotel that is supposed to be of a certain caliber.

I had a lovely experience staying at this place. Giving 4 stars because of the distance from the center of the city, otherwise everything is too good and value for money. I was there to run Laguna Marathon 2019, and the staff provided me with everything that I needed to prepare for it over the days. It's a good place to relax and rewind. So much options in food that you'd get confused on what to eat and what to leave.

Visited here in 2004. Amazing place and amazing people. The Far East cannot be beaten for hospitality. My wife enjoyed the spa treatments and we all enjoyed the Thai as well as the seafood. There was a club for the kids that allowed us adults to have some time to ourselves. Would go there again.

This is a great beach front resort in northern phuket area on Bang Tao beach. Beautiful lush gardens, nice pool, restaurants, hospitality. Laguna and nearby areas are also good. Guest rooms are a little smaller though. Loved our stay overall.
