The staff, including both the medical and reception staff, clearly care and are doing their best but this surgery is failing patients badly because it's simply too hard to get to get an appointment. Like many others I repeated call for an on the day urgent appointment as soon as the booking window opens at 08:30 and 14:00 only to get cut off by the automated system after a random wait. Today it added a message to tell me it was cutting me off when doing so. The automated phone system has been a failure for years and they stick with it even so. Ultimately it's no good if the staff are good if you cannot get to them.

Really sad to share this as I absolutely love and appreciate our NHS staff and facilities, but Fairbrook is one of the absolute worst GP surgery's. Your system to help patients is incredibly counter productive and beyond disappointing. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and need to speak to a doctor and each time I'm told to call back later or call again tomorrow. No help . We have tried to reach you in the past for two other serious incidents and again, the same outcome. I understand there is only so much you can do, but to tell a heavily pregnant woman to keep calling back and not even offering to book in the next day or the same week is unacceptable in my opinion.

I have called on numerous occasions over a one month period to book an appointment. Each time, I have been told that there are no appointments left. Or to call back at another set time to try to get an appointment in the future.. only to be told all appointments have gone for coming weeks and to try again when they open the diary. This system and difficulty in speaking to or visiting a clinician, will In no doubt lead to people having leaving issues untreated which in some cases will lead to loss of life if things are not caught at early stages.

Worse surgery staff ever.....Never have i experienced any surgery staff who are so unhelpful.....waiting time when you call them is 40 to 1 hour approximately. After long wait over the phone they will say no appointments. Anytime of the year you call them their response is "We are full today" no matter how bad is your health or struggling to breath, they don't care.....The staff tries to put words in your mouth although you don’t mean it. Very inhuman and insensitive to patient’s needs. Extremely unhelpful employees, not sure who appointed them for this responsible job.

This is honestly the worst GP I have ever been registered to, you have to wait weeks to even get a phone appointment if you're lucky, then you speak to the doctors and they are so unbothered and uncaring, the attitude of staff in the practice is absolutely shocking. They won't do anything for you either if they can avoid it. Not recommended at all, I'll be moving ASAP.

Fairbrook Medical Centre do their absolute best given the amount of patients they have and the lack of surgeries in the Borehamwood area. Receptionists, contrary to popular belief, are friendly and helpful if you treat them with respect. The surgery have gone out of their way to fit in my 3 year old daughter when necessary and have done the same for me. The doctors are extremely helpful and have always got back to me when they said they would. There are problems such as huge waiting times when you call, but that is a reflection of the system as whole, the lack of surgeries in the area and the pandemic rather than them being inadequate.

Their appointment system is utterly ridiculous. It's fastest finger first and you still cannot get an appointment for 10 days. The advice offered just to make an appointment varies from day to day I appreciate they are under enormous pressure but they aren't unwell, we the Patients ARE I enrolled with them a little over a year ago. Clearly they are under staffed. I regret signing with them, I've never experienced this type of difficulty in my life Again I understand the difficulties, these problems are very much to do with the Government but at least provide your patients with consistent information?

Sadly zero stars is not an option. Tried to book an urgent appointment for my son's deteriorating mental health. He had been registered with them since birth until a couple of years ago, when he started uni and moved to London. They had all the records of my son's mental health history. After two days on the phone trying to get an appointment, finally I manage to speak to a receptionist. They said they couldn't give any appointment as he was not registered with them anymore. Tried then to register him again on their website - they required two proofs of address (which they should't!) to make it really complicated - I then registered him with another local surgery - no proof of address or anything required - and got his appointment immediately with the new surgery. I've now moved all the family to the new surgery! Perhaps if they have less patients (as all migrate somewhere else) they will manage to improve their rubbish service!

Can't give 0 unfortunately. Never able to book an appointment. Called to get a urine test for my 2 year as he's complaining it burns when he goes to the toilet. Told I need an appointment to order the urine test. What a waste of resources. At my old surgery where I used to live you could drop off a urine sample and if you needed an appointment they would then call. Whenever you call for on the day appointments they never have any and you just keep getting told to call again the next day or go to a walk in or a&e...for a UTI!!!! Ridiculous.

This must be the worst GP I have ever come across, called multiple times for same day appointments and they always said they are fully booked, keeps referring me to A&E, its outrageous how they cannot take patients symptoms seriously and just want to finish off the call with you. I firmly believe this GP should be looked into further and investigated, its not fit for purpose unfortunately! Its is sad to leave patients without any hope of ever seeing a doctor with you, potentially leading to their symptoms worsening as a direct result of your incompetence!

When you consider the immense pressure the staff at Fairbrook are under, they are doing their very best to help us all. I have been using this surgery for 24 years and on no less than 3 occasions, their timely hospital referral saved my life. I cannot believe how very rude and offensive some reviews are. I know how difficult it is sometimes to get an appointment, but some patience and common courtesy will get you the best results.

Really disappointed with the surgery. Waiting lists are huge and after nearly 1hour wait you will be told there are no appointments. They don't even listen to what your problem is. They just say there are no appointments and hang up. Never faced issues like this in my previous GP practices.

Had a urine and blood test on Wednesday to check if I had diabetes which was a big worry for me. I had a phone call this morning (Friday two days later) from Jaffer the clinical pharmacist, with the results. He was very thorough, efficient and kind. Fortunately my results were all good. Very impressed with the speed and service I received. When one is worried about results of tests, one doesn’t want to be waiting and worrying any longer than need be. Thank you

Really disappointed with the surgery. Waiting lists are huge and after nearly 1hour wait you will be told there are no appointments. They don't even listen to what your problem is. They just say there are no appointments and hang up. Never faced issues like this in my previous GP practices. My baby needs a quick appointment and I can't find a place, the hospital says the family doctor needs to see him to solve the problem. Want to know how? because when they answer the call after 1 hour of waiting it says that there is no available time. I don't know what to do, go to the hospital, send for the GP, call the GP, there are no hours this is definitely ridiculous my son and a baby and he needs an urgent appointment. I'm really disappointed with this.

Absolutely horrified at the level or service fair brook now offer . the only GPs not offering face to face appointments for all, telephone triage is a joke, you literally can never get an appointment if you happen to have children that need to go to school or you have a job and can't spend hours on the phone waiting only to be told that there are none available . my urgent cancer referral was messed up by one of the GPs twice instead of two weeks I waited over 6 only for them to mess it up again and in the end had to rely on a different consultant to get my scan . then today I get a message from them saying i need a telephone appointment... so I call wait 25 mins for someone to answer then get told I have to call back at 2pm.... I HAVE A JOB ... with the NHS so can't disappear to keep calling you when you have requested that I ask for an appointment ... seriously I am done and am moving to Manor view after 40+ years of being with fair brook the level of care is a disaster .

Outstanding surgery. I changed from the Old Court House in Barnet, and every single thing is much better here. The receptionists are always available, polite and helpful. The senior nurse is an angel. She takes her time and has helped enormously with my children's illnesses and conditions. Doctors, nurses... everyone is outstanding here, in every way. Thank you so much, you are the true heroes of this country.

They have been my GP since infancy, I am currently at university but come back in a few weeks. I tried to book an appointment following my return and they basically said that I am no longer their patient and refused to allow me to book. They said to register with a different gp.

Been a patient for 5 years and recently had an appointment with Dr Prathab, she was amazing. My years worth pain was resolved by a blood test and a simple vitamin deficiency. Also had an emergency appointment for my son with Dr Dutt, who recognised my son had a serious infection and thanks to him we got admitted to hospital and my son was treated straight away and is recovering well now. I didn’t realise how serious his condition was but so grateful he didn’t hesitate to send us to hospital it could have been so much worse. Also it was very easy to make an appointment on both occasions. I can only recommend Fairbrook Medical Centre they are amazing! *****

Can’t get an appointment easily every time when try to call after long waiting on the phone get the answer back as no appointments available .Also they have a specific time like call @10.30 for appointments. We are working ppl at work we are not allowed to use our phone and keep it for half and hour for try to book an appointments. And after all this process you still don’t get an Appointment. Try to book via nhs app as well but still didn’t get any appointments. It’s really frustrating.

Fairbrook medical centre is a great practice. The receptionist are just lovely and always try and help you out. The doctors are also very kind and caring, especially Dr Alya Aman and Dr A Limbani they are brilliant doctors. You can always get an appointment now which is fabulous. I would definitely recommend this surgery.

I want to thank the reception and clinical team at Fairbrook medical centre for their efficient communication. I was recently down with an illness and they swiftly co-ordinated to provide my fit note. They were fantastic at emailing, calling and texting and provided clear and helpful information each time I reached out to them. And when I needed my medical certificate, they were again really efficient. It did not seem to matter who I had last communicated with; each member of the team was in the loop about my case. This gave me a sense of team work approach at the Surgery. Thank you so much and please keep up this wonderful service! :)

I would like to say that the receptions have been making extra effort to secure urgent appointments. When there was no appointments left at the surgery, they reassigned to a different local surgery which is very helpful. Also I would like to thank Dr Page for her referrals/suggestions and her time. I would highly recommend Fairbrook Medical Centre.

I have been with this surgery for 20 plus years and have never found any reason to complain about any thing.Seven years ago my wife became terminally ill and in the months leading on to her death the care she had from this practice was second to none

I want to thank Fairbrook Medical Centre for their wonderful care and attention to my elderly parents. It is a very busy surgery but this has never hampered their patience and service. All the staff, doctors and nurses have been so kind in helping my family get the treatment required promptly. I know they are under pressure due to vast demand from new housing estates being built in the area and everyone needs a GP Surgery. Fairbrook have been absolutely brilliant - again I cannot thank them enough.

I’ve been a patient for 40 years. 9 times out of 10 my contact has been positive. From friendly and helpful receptionists, experienced nurses and hcas to the doctors. Yes it can be difficult to get an appointment sometimes but overall I would definitely recommend Fairbrook.

I tried for over 2 weeks to get a hold of someone in this office. No answer despite multiple calls and leaving 2 voicemails asking for call backs. Didn’t even get through the registration process before I lost all faith in them. It’s just good there are other options in this town. Would NOT recommend at all.

On 24th September I had my flu jab and covid booster. The staff were very helpful and polite the system they used worked perfectly. Dr Page was very cheerful and helpful and polite, I had a good experience as I was very apprehensive about having both jabs at the same time but the staff and Dr put me at ease.
