Great muscle burning trail, very well maintained, but cleats are necessary and poles would be helpful. The views along the trail are amazing and from the top - simply off the charts πŸ‘Œ 😍. You can stop at the Saddle, which is the middle part of Ha Ling mountain, or go to the very top, which is quite steep and exposed, or head to the Miner's Peak, which is also pretty picturesque. In any way view's satisfaction is guaranteed. Will be returning there again and again. πŸ₯°πŸ”πŸžβ›°

Trail was in great shape and well graded with stairs on the steep parts and easy to follow. Not much snow and well packed on the trail. Micro spikes helped on the steep parts. Nice sunny day and no wind even at the peak.

Ha Ling Peak at Sunrise. A must!!! Started at 5am, took about 1 hr 45 min to get to the saddle. Found a nice little spot on the ridge to sit back and watch the show. Everything up to the saddle is well marked with defined paths. You will l experience a steady incline the whole way up. The last 400 meters to the peak is more of a scramble but can be done. Absolutely breathtaking up there. Was down at my car by 10am. Plenty of time to explore the rest of the Rockies.

Amazing hike on Ha Ling today. Winter conditions. -20. Trail does cross some avalanche chutes so ensure you're will versed in your avalanche training. Proper gear a necessity in these conditions.

Well maintained trail with great lookouts throughout, and stunning view at the summit. Good challenge but not insanely difficult. I would recommend wearing crampons for winter hike

Went for an early day hike. Parking lot was empty and slightly chilly at the bottom. As we began our ascent you quickly start sweating. Layer off and continue up. Good spots for views as you climb and continue climbing. The new ladder system makes this trail a lot more accessible. Once you get to the end of the maintained trail, you can choose to go to the peak using an unmaintained portion of the trail. Views of the mountains and of Canmore at this site. Of course what goes up must come down. Walking sticks help on the way down reducing knee strain.

This trail is very well established, no guessing where to go. There are amazing sets of stairs constructed, both stone and timber. There are a number of rough rocky spots, but that's to be expected. The rate of ascent can be demanding, depending on your physical condition. I always find the decent to be the least happy time for legs. The quick access to a summit and the 360 views that you get are absolutely worth every calorie burnt. Anyone can do this if they want to.

Spectacular hike where you get 3 peaks in one hike! Ice cleats were extremely helpful but even with them, it got slushy & slippery near the end on the way down with the warmer weather. Sone very steep sections and a bit if a scramble to the top of Ha Ling. Miners Peak and Mount Lawrence Grassi Peak are just a quick detour and there were barely any hikers there. I loved those peaks because you get a great view of Ha Ling from them. The entire hike took me just over 3 hours with stops at each peak, photo breaks and a quick bite to eat. I’m older but pretty fit. Sadly, it’s closing April 1,2022 for the season for parking lot expansion and trail maintenance (from what I was told)

Such a great hike, took my 11 year old up last weekend and the views were amazing. Such a short hike for such amazing views. It was too snowy for miners peak when we went but you can get a double peak in if the weather nice. If there is snow wear spikes.

There are several hiking, snowshoeing, biking and cross-country ski trails started from the newly constructed the Goat Creek Parking Lot located in Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park on the west side of Smith-Dorrien Highway (HWY 742) about 5.5 km from Canmore Nordic Center. From there you can hiking or snowshoeing to πŸ” East End of Rundle (EEOR) (2530 m) πŸ” Ha Ling Peak (2474 m) πŸ” Miner's Peak (2450 m) πŸ” Mount Lawrence Grassi (2682 m) 🏞 Whitemans Pond, Grassi Lakes and Waterfall; biking during the dry season or cross-country skiing on winter along the Goat Creek Trail that continues up to Banff. πŸ‘£ The common part of hiking trails to Ha Ling Peak and Miner's Peak was improved with few wooden ladders installed along steep and slippery portions of the route to makes it safe and more accessible for hikers of any age and abilities πŸ‘ͺ.

Ha Ling Peak offers an exhilarating adventure with breathtaking rewards. The hike boasts awe-inspiring 360-degree views of the Rocky Mountains. While the trail is well-maintained, it's a strenuous climb, so sturdy boots and trekking poles are essential. Keep an eye out for mountain goats along the way. Weekends can get crowded, so plan for a quieter weekday visit or an early morning start. The weather can change quickly, so dress accordingly. In summary, Ha Ling Peak delivers an unforgettable experience, making it a must-do for avid hikers seeking a challenging and visually stunning trek.

Challenging trail! This is a tough and long but rewarding hike. The scenery at the summit is amazing. The ascent is very steep with various types of terrain, some rocky, some soft, most hard ground that was very slick on the way down. There are a few places where you may have to scale a few feet of rock. Good hiking shoes and poles will make it easier. The descent, you'll realize how steep it really is, most people had slipped once or twice, I was fine because of my shoes. One of the most stunning hikes I have ever done.

Absolutely gorgeous views at the top. Around 10km round trip with around 800m of elevation gain. Harder and steeper than I imagined. Not a casual hike by any means but worth the effort!

This was done on February 18th. Ha Ling peak opened a week ago and trail was well packed down. The weather wasn't too bad. The stairs were snowed in making them a bit tricky to navigate and it got busy making it difficult to get back down

I consider this to be one of the best hikes. This is an extremely popular trail. The hike is a little strenuous but well worth as it offers a great view. Ha Ling peak is very close to Calgary and Canmore. It offers lots of parking and a good trail. Well worth the effort. This is my favorite hike.

Hiker beware. When I went it was hot. I've observed families not wearing appropriate footwear or have adequate hydration. I'm not a pro and am fairly active and the hike was manageable (I would have found it difficult if I was not active). Not sure how those I have described faired by the time they completed the in and out of this trail as it had serious ascent/descents and hope for easy recovery. I'd do it again next time I'm in the area.

Peaceful, moderate and stress relief hike, I recommend to pack some light snacks and energy boosters will help you to ho all the way up to the summit. It is normally easy walking mostly except some hindrance. Thought hike needs patience, energy and stamina for success and get that view. It usually take 1 and 45 minutes or 2 hours to reach the summit or to get down at the parking. It is preferable to enjoy light snacks at the summit with moderate wind at safe spots, take pictures, relive with fresh air. It was quite worth the hike to witness the view of summit. Moreover, I also watched the guy, who was doing paragliding from the summit to the Canmore.

Ha Ling ranks as s my most difficult Trail in my very short career. The ice and snow made it difficult. We did wear ice cleats, we bought at Canadian tire which are important. It would have been very helpful to have walking sticks as well for both directions. My daughter climbed the hill in the summer and made it all the way to the top. I just turned 67 and I am probably in medium condition for my age. I am not a daily active type person in terms of exercising.

This is one of the best hikes I've been to so far, and it was an outstanding experience. The hike is pretty steep, and it requires both physical and mental ability. If you are hiking in the winter, cleates are mandatory because throughout the whole hike, there are a lot of places where it's slippery, and after the tree line, there is an unmaintained trail. It's really windy at the top, so carry some extra layers. Almost 80 percent of the hike is below the treeline, and the last 20 percent is the rewarding part. The last part of the hike gives you a real sense of mountaineering. The weather was pretty bad when I hiked, so I would definitely hike back again in the summer. Carry all the appropriate gears like cleates, hiking poles, proper shoes, and clothes. Also, carry plenty of water and food. Enjoy the hike, fellow mountaineers!!!

After doing many gorgeous hikes in the Banff and Jasper national parks, this was a little disappointing. Maybe because the top is a narrow ridge that is not very forgiving to allow for multiple hikers to take in the views. It's a vertical climb all the way so you will have your heart pumping. The last bit from the saddle point to the peak in not maintained and looked risky with scrambling so we didn't do it.

We hiked this on October 31st, 2021, and definitely appreciated the crampons we rented from a place in Canmoreβ€”highly advisable. Wonderful views at the top, but severely windy, and not a place we wanted to hang out. A good deal of exposure and a very exciting ridge to the summit. The beginning of the hike isn't the most interesting, but the climb is worth your while!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I love Canmore Alberta. There is something so amazing about being surrounded by open air, water and mountains. This recent trip was so much better than the last one pre covid. πŸ‘πŸ‘ Short walking distance from Canmore city! The view is amazing with lake, tree, grass and mountains. The contrast between human-made structure and the nature look great in a photo.
