Date of Experience: Dec 2021 Parking: Available Food: Small local shops Cleanliness: 4 Star (Good) There are few temples in this area of lord Shiva and other deities. One temple is on the ground and others are inside the caves, as you have to climb few steps to reach. Inside the the Shiva temple it is very vibrant and alive as you would be feeling like seating there for sometime. There are several shops outside. The whole area is surrounded by the rocky hills and ruins.

The nearest town is Banaganapalli. Do visit the caves and learn about the history of the temple while you are here. It is very amusing. And the speciality here is the growing Nandi (bull) which is predicted to come to life and it is believed among the locals that when the stone turns to life, the world will end. It's the temple where Shiva is in the form of Uma Maheshwara. Do visit during Shivratri for the best experience possible.Oh and there's entry fee for the temple. It should be around 10 to 20 rupees.

Yaganti Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, offers a profoundly peaceful and soulful experience. The serene ambiance creates an ideal environment for spiritual contemplation, and the presence of water ponds adds to the overall tranquility.

Yaganti temple is a very beautiful and ancient temple built by agastya muni. The temple is built in vaishnava style. The lord Uma Maheshwari idol is in a single stone at the main temple, the lord basava believed that it is growing up. The temple also consists of Sri Kashi Vishwanath temple, Sri Subramanya temple, Sri Veerabadreshwara temple. In the caves it has Sri Venkateshwara temple. Must visit places in Kurnool district.

Yaganti Umamaheshwara Swamy Temple nested in beautiful hills in the Kurnool district of Andhra pradesh. It is famous for the growing Nandi and the Pushkarini (pond) which gets water all round the year from the hills. It is a very serene and calm place and worth a visit for the historical temple architecture.

Nice place for a day trip. The facility is not good. No proper restaurants and parking. The temple and caves are good. Elderly people will find difficult to climb the steps for caves. The pond complex not clean, littered with dirty clothes, diapers, soap covers. People can help to keep it clean. The water path to the pond is also littered with all sort of rubbish. 2 to 3 hours is more than enough to cover the places. Early morning or evening will be plesent time to visit. Some basic facilities can be improved. Avoid the place during Shivratri as the place will be crowded.

Yaganti temple Explore The Yaganti Temple is a temple of Shiva located in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh, India 1. It was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century 1. The temple was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions 1. One story of the site’s origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged 1. The temple is renowned for its unique architecture and historical significance 2. It is a popular tourist destination and attracts a large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh every year 3. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its Pushkarini, a small pond of water on the temple premises. Water flows into this Pushkarini from the bottom of the hill through the mouth of a Nandi (bull) 1. Devotees find that a holy bath in Pushkarini is highly beneficial 1. If you are planning to visit the temple, you may want to check out the reviews on Tripadvisor3. I hope this helps!

Superb location and great views of mountains beside the temple. Koneru and other areas resemble centuries old architecture and wonderful feeling. You can take 75 rupees token for sparsha darsan as well to go in to the garbhalayam. Priests were polite and will explain you the history of temple. Do visit the lord Venkateswara swamy temple and lord Shiva's cave as well. Limited rooms to stay here but during week days you shd be able to get one. Free food was fine and you have limited option for food outside as well. Please see the attached pics and you will know how beautiful this location is, thanks.

Yaganti!! Only few temples which has Uma Maheshwar (Ardhanarishwar) avtar of Lord Shiv. One of the best ancient 15th century temple and great architecture. Pleasant and peaceful environment. The Nandi in front of main diety grows in size naturally that’s the beauty of the place. Location of temple amidst a natural ravine with a water spring adds to its beauty. A small uphill trek for darshanam of an old Shiv lingam in a natural cave is thrilling. Must Visit Temple.

This temple was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century.[citation needed] It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions. One story of the site's origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged. A second story is as follows: Chitteppa, a devotee of Shiva, was worshiping Shiva and Shiva appeared to him as a tiger. Chitteppa understood that it was Lord Shiva in tiger form, and shouted Neganti Shivanu ne kanti (meaning: I saw Shiva I saw), and danced with joy. There is a cave called Chitteppa nearby. Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is one of the few temples patronized by one of the great dynasties of India. Every year Maha Shivaratri is celebrated and a large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh visit. Shiva, Parvati and Nandi are the main deities in this temple. This temple is 14 km away from Banaganipalli in kurnool dt. The saint lord Veerabrahmendra swami stayed here for some time and wrote Kalagnanam

Visited this temple on a weekend (Saturday). Moderate Crowd. Very nice place and beautifully located between the mountains. Really amazing caves. Never saw such a huge nandi. You will definitely enjoy this place if you are nature lover. Note Temple maintains strict timings. If you are going from Hyderabad start early so that you can reach before lunch break(1pm). Temple will be closed from 1-3 pm. Beware of the monkeys there.

15th Century temple built by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of Vijayanagara Empire. Beautiful rock formation caves has Agastya Cave where Agastya performed his penance for Siva. Venkateswara Cave, where lord Venkateswara idol stand tall. This Venkateswara idol is present in this cave before the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple was constructed. As the ideal is damaged near the foot, it could not be worshipped. Many people say that this place can stand as an alternative to Tirupati. Yaganti is in the Nandyal Dist in AP and sox 100 km from Kurnool. A must visit site.

Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is 14 km away from Banaganipalli in Kurnool district, 55 km from Nandyal, 80 km from Kurnool, 308 km from Hyderabad, 359 km from Vijayawada. Yaganti is one of the most famous Shiva Temple in Andhra Pradesh state. The temple dates back to 5th and 6th centuries with contributions from Pallavas, Cholas, Chalukyas and Vijayanagara rulers. According to Potuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy, the Basavanna (stone nandi) of Yaganti will come alive and shout when Kali Yuga ends. It is said that people used to do Pradakshinas (rounds) around it in the past. The temple staff has already removed one pillar as the size of the Nandi has increased. The devotees believe that the Nandi (Bullock, Lord Shiva’s) idol in front of the temple is continuously increasing its size. The locals say that the idol was initially much smaller than its present size. They say that certain experimentation was carried out on this idol and it was said that the type of rock out of which the idol is carved has a growing or enlarging nature associated with it. As per Archaeological Survey of India the rock grows at the rate of 1 inch per 20 years (10 mm per 8 years).

Famous & notorious Lord Siva temple ages back to mythology agasthya mahamuni times who offered prayers here and..the current temple &all it's gopura reconstructed by harihara ray@& bukkaraya .. Located in kurnool district near banaganapalli with good road connectivity n temple closes by 8pm &small amenties are there with reasonably good facility for night stay .. Unique place where u can't find a single crow in and around .. the pond located outside is good and spacious one n water is near clean u can bathe here .. inside another small pushkarini with water coming from nandi .. proper inner sanctum of temple is with incompletely finished idol a combination of Siva & vishnu which us a unique one. .. another unique thing is ever increasing size of BASAVAYYA outside the temple which is the iconic symbol "when it roars the kaliyuga will end' as told by Lord Veera brahmendra three caves are located out of which the big one with Lord venkateswara inside .. Outside the temple there are three caves ,one with lord venkateswara another one where lord veerabrahmendra supposed to be in yoga mudra for certain time .. Another unique thing is AAKASADEEPA Darshanam which they will do in masa sivaratri ... Worth to visit to enjoy the scenic beauty & to have a long ride n for group of friends &family ...

Yaganti temple is on of most beautiful Lord Siva temple in Andhrapradesh. This temple built by Harihara Bukka raya of thr Sangama Dynasty in 15th century. Main diety of this temple is Uma Mahswara. Eventhough it is a Siva temple, construction as per Vaishnavaite traditions. Because this place is originaly considered for the construction of Lord Venkateswara but some how ended with Lord Siva. The main attraction of this temple is Nandi statue infront of Main deitie, because people say that this Nandi statue is increasing in its size slowly as time passes on. And the location of the temple itself highlight. There are lot of naturally formed caves around themple. And all are must visit. There are main three caves must vist viz. Agastya cave, Venkateswara cave and Veera Brahmmam cave. This temple located aroud 14 kilometers west of Banaganepalle town. Accomodation available here for overnight stay. Ample parking space is there. This place us a treasure for geology and geography lovers. It is a must visit place.

One time visit. The temple opens at 1500hrs, so plan accordingly. It contains one main temple and 3 small temples present in the caves as shown in the photos. The temple is good and well maintained. You can have prasad ladoo(2) at 15/-. Adult ticket Entry: 10/- per person. Parking is free and the toilet is for ladies only. The caves have very steep stairs and the caves are not having that much depth. It will be around 20 feet in length inside the cave. One more thing, once u reach here u will find a road on the hills behind the temple, so that road also leads to a temple which is around 12-15km (shop guy told).

Ancient Hindu devine temple. Famous for big Nandeeshwar right side of the main entrance to Naareeshwar temple. Offering ghee Jyothi at Lord Murugan temple can be seen by devotees. Clearly we can see the caves on the rocky hills where Sages and saints took penance during olden days.

Year:November 2023 Temple: 1. Ancient Hindu Temple of significant history 2. Surrounded by Rocks and Mountains with no water body near by. 3. Recently Jagan govt has introduced Tickets (10₹ per person). Sparsh darshan ticket is costly (not sure of price) 4. Growing Nandi is there. Read stories about it before visiting. 4. For now, you can carry your phone but can’t click pictures inside Garbhgriha. Prasadam: 1. They sell laddus at ticket counter 2. Anna Prasadam was available earlier (2018 visit). Couldn’t have time time as we visited in morning. It’s next parking on the right side. Facilities: 1. Connecting road shown in Google map to Kurnool is in very poor condition for 15-17 Km. It’s like off roading. Don’t take that route in rainy season or going on big vehicles. 2. It’s an isolated place . So, don’t expect great food or accommodation. Plan accordingly. Prefer Temple Prasadam. 3. Temple area is clean. Observed small improvement in last 5 years. 4. Multiple new roads are being built. Expect better connectivity in next 5 years.

This is a very unique place one should visit atleast once in their lifetime. The unique rock formation ( you can see hanuman shaped rock formation in first pic), architecture of the temple constructed by Vijayanagara kings. One more uniqueness if the temple is you will not see a single crow in the temple premises this is because of the Agasthya Maha muni curse to Shani deva stating that you ll not have place in this location. Visit with family and enjoy the serene beauty and unique architecture and most importantly get blessing of lord shiva and growing Nandi maharaj

Wonderful temple with great history. Make sure you visit all three caves, koneru, and the water coming through the caves. Make sure to inquire the history while you’re there, believe me it’s so interesting. In short, it’s supposed to be lord Govinda’s temple but it ends up to be lord Shiva’s temple. I leave the rest for you to find out.

It is believed that the Nandi statue here grows. And also to share our desires to Nandi first so that he goes to Shiva to discuss and to consider. If you are on a spiritual trip around do add this to your list. When comes to temple it is surrounded by hills and caves that feels like a corner of nature.

Peaceful as usual. Do try to take the new that road to view the temple from above the hill, it's amazing.. (Just for the view only, don't take that that road to kurnool, it's a pathetic road) And visit all the temples in the compound though the hike through the stairs is lethargic...

It's a wonderful place and a famous temple in Andhra Pradesh. Easy to reach here, the roads are good. There is ample parking space available. Small restaurants are there.it will be very hot in summers. You can get down in temple pond and play here. The god here lord Shiva but the temple is built according to vaishnavite principles. The temple architecture is marvelous. There are many mysteries in this place. The Nandi here growing every day. Earlier people used to circle around Nandi but now there is no space left for taking Circle as the growing Nandi touched one of the piller. There is a pond here and water comes from the mouth of Nandi through out the year. There are many caves here and people says that In olden days people used to travel Kashi and other places through this caves.
