One of the best = most beautiful bar in Bangkok. Excellent Piano 🎹 and Jazz music live. Friendly staff, excellent drinks 🍹, price ok/good for such high level Bangkok bar, inside such beautiful hotel 🏨 (550+ Baht levels). One feels back in the 1940/ 50's, beautiful, relaxed ambience with mirrors and dark wood - including various really fantastic, special drinks from regions of Thailand 🇹🇭 They serve roasted nuts coming with drinks and have excellent Tapas for small hunger. Service orientation is top notch 😃🙌

The first must go to bar for a quiet jazz night. This place is truly exceptional. Here are the things I like. 1. The service are phenomenal. Ask the waitress if you need any help with the menu or if you require a recommendation. 2. The cocktails can be a little pricey. But they taste great. 3. The design with the lightings and color tone just brings out the cosy ambiance. Would I come back here? A definite yes.

Come here for the experience and you won't be disappointed. There is a live jazz bar and that is the best part of this place. I would recommend this for a unique experience here. One thing is that the server kept asking us to order more, which I feel is a bit much. Other than that everything was perfect.

A classic, historic bar. If the walls could speak.... A friend and I just visited for a few scotches and a cocktail. Pricey, but who's counting? Chanel took great care of us and we bought a couple of swizzle sticks and coasters as souvenirs, even though I'm not a tourist. Live music every evening, I believe, but sadly we missed that. The bar has been featured in many Bangkok-set novels, and also depicted in non-fiction books dealing with the Vietnam War. Impeccable service, tremendous selection of liqueurs, and just a great hang. This place is an institution in the best sense of the word.

Bamboo bar is located inside Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok and provided music performance every night. The bar is so classic, I can feel the atmosphere when I stepped in. They provide various drinks. My sister and I tried almost all the signature cocktails are the menu. Have to say well present and bring out the flavor to the next level. Five sections to choose from, pretty tough choices. By a great helper-Note, we did enjoy drinks with orders. The services are top quality and couldn't ask for more. The performance was brilliant and gave me good vibes to enjoy the evening. If you come to Bangkok, don't miss the bar!

The moment you enter the taste of luxurious drinks, the sweat of expats hearing that this is the place to be to hear jazz being played and those moneyed enough to appreciate expensive liquor and smooth jazz mixed with cocktails with names to give a nod to different regions in Thailand. And yes, the whole room is made of bamboo. The jazz band will keep to being jazzy even to the point rejecting a request to sing Tracy Chapman by an unnerved patron. Great place to be and be seen. There's also a door to the cigar room with a respectable cigar offerings.

Absolutely loved my experience at the bamboo bar. Very deserving of its accolades - will definitely back when I am back in Bangkok. Had their Welcome to the Jungle drink (hennessy, pea, longan, and passionfruit) - a refreshing yet complex mix of spices and floral/fruity flavors that left me wanting for more. My friend had On Cloud Nine - a rich bourbon drink perfectly suited for the jazz club atmosphere. The jazz band was excellent - you could tell they enjoyed playing their music as much as they were skilled at making music.

If you are a jazz fan or would simply like to enjoy tasty unique drinks, this is a must-go place. The decoration / ambiance is exceptional, very cozy. The service is amazing, the staff is very helpful and provide good recommendations. The live performance was great. The singer was from the US and I guess she was on a tour. They dont take reservations on weekends, hence I suggest to go a bit early. I will definitely visit again.

It was okay Expensive, granted, it is MO and it's famous. Snacks are quite good. Complimentary welcome drink. No complimentary water though, like other bars. The guest bartenders were super loud and obnoxious. Destroyed the vibe. Live music, band and singer, were amazing. Has a dress code - but at least they will supply you with clothes.

The cocktail might seem to be expensive, but the atmosphere was great and live jazz music is very great. The staff is very friendly and helpful, because I carried some shopping stuff and they offered us a temporary storage. - No booking is available, so I would suggest go there earlier. - Shorts are not allowed in the bar, so do remember change to trousers.

Walking into Bamboo Bar you are immediately captured by the beautiful and moody decor throughout. After settling in and having some great quality martinis (and making some new international friends), we were pleasantly surprised to see a glamorously dressed lady and gentleman appear at the front of the piano to whisk us off into some blues. Thank you for making our last night in Bangkok a wonderful experience. Your team members in the bar were friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome.

A magical colonial bar located within the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, full of period furniture and thoughtful artefacts and live jazz every night! The bar oozes tasteful opulence and refined class. The list of wines and spirits available is extensive, and they have an ever-changing selection of original cocktails on offer, as well as all the classics. There is also a very nice cigar lounge! Although seating is limited, there are seating areas on the veranda outside the bar that offer the ability to still hear the music inside and enjoy more conversation when the music is playing. That said, I advise arriving before 2030 to get a good spot in the bar to see the band, however the staff are very attentive and can allocate you a table when it becomes available if you choose to sit outside first. A great spot to go to for some serenity and good music away from the hustle of downtown.

Definitely a very good bar, great atmosphere, live jazz music, and incredibly tasty drinks. Some consider it to be one of the best bars in Bangkok, but in my opinion it's a little too expensive and crowded to deserve that praise. Still, it's undeniably a nice place and worth checking out.

Nice ambience with a live jazz performance. Drinks were pretty strong which is always a plus. The food could definitely be better but I’m assuming most people are here for the music and drinks. However do note there’s a dress code ( we couldnt go the first time we wanted to) long pants and covered shoes

Eclectic Refined Atmosphere ! Great soulful music ! Outside / Inside and Even a Cigar Smoking Room. Would recommend an inside seating to enjoy the live jazz music and soak in the atmosphere with diverse range of people sitting around Love the menu with its explanations. Great cocktails. The single malt whisky choices are relatively basic and needs improvement to fit the image of this classy bar .

It was great to listen to jazz on my holiday. I had researched the Bamboo Bar before visiting Bangkok and planned visiting after a day at Iconsiam. We're were able to take the ferry across the river and found it quite quickly. Enjoyed the cocktails, which were served with delicious nuts - I couldn't stop eating. The service was first class.

Being a constant presence in the awards list for best 50 bars in the world, i had to give it a try to Bamboo Bar In my second visit at the Mandarin Oriental (first time I didn't get enough time and we had a different mission) i landed here in the middle of a whimsical jazz session. It's a small and bourgeois bar, with a supremely classy atmosphere, a cigar room, indoor and outdoor seating, a concept (in this case Thailand nature and sights and a connoisseur delight. Got myself a cocktail that hails bees and honey, based on Zacapa rum (of course) and it didn't disappoint. But what i liked mostly is the atmosphere. Boutique, esoteric, jazzy and old world. Shall come back

Great bar as always. Good cocktails. This time the bartender was a bit combative when we asked him to make a drink we had there many times before. I explained it to him what’s in there, just a classic cocktail with two ingredients changed but he wanted me to show him a whole recipe, which I did to him saying “oh just swap two ingredients”. Cocktails came out great. Found it shocking that a small water was the same price as a cocktail. 9 usd for a small water in Thailand is insanity. Overall a great bar, one of the best in Bangkok.

Atmosphere and food (we had the satay) is delicious, cocktails are mostly pretty good but I’d stay away from the mango sticky rice one. Bar is on the first floor of mandarin oriental, a beautiful hotel, and they provide free valet parking.

The Bamboo Bar, in the heart of Bangkok, a joint that oozes top-notch service right from the get-go. Picture this: the taxi door swings open, like a scene straight outta 'Pulp Fiction,' and there's the staff, guiding you through to this cool, mysterious door that leads to an absolutely killer vibe. The manager, smooth like Marsellus Wallace, greets you warmly and sets you up in style. Booze? Oh, they got the good stuff, and the snacks? Like a Tarantino plot twist—surprisingly delightful. And let me tell ya, the jazz scene here? It's like the soundtrack to this whole spectacle, alive and kicking. Now, about the tab—yeah, it's a tad higher, but hey, you're paying for the whole cinematic experience, right? It's worth every dime. Count me in for a round two, bringing along my squad for this slick ride.

The jazz bar inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. They offer a more classic jazz experience, with a quartet arrangement rather than modern jazz. It's a satisfying spot for those who appreciate classic jazz. The performance level was high, and the service was quite excellent.

The music alone at The Bamboo Bar is reason enough to visit. The drinks are good too, given that it has consistently been rated as one of the top Bars in Asia, the expectation was high. The Bee’s Knees was quite delicious but that’s not what I’d say for the other concoction we ordered. The vibe, however, is on point. I’d suggest starting with the classics here, the Bar team can are more than capable of putting out banger drinks.

This exceptional bar offers an atmosphere surpassing even the renowned BKK Social Club. The ambiance exudes both sophistication and comfort, adorned with elegant decor. The mixologist's expertise is evident in the skillfully crafted drinks, while the affable and well-informed German manager adds a welcoming touch. The live jazz performances enhance the overall experience, making it truly remarkable. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their unique concoctions, like the delightful Thaijito.

Great Jazz band in Thailand. Cocktail price is start from 450++ (vat7%, service 10%) But due to popularity, it's always full house in the prime time such as Friday night. And they are not allow to make reservation. And lead to waiting on que. Not a good experience for my guests that I bring them to. Given through they provide welcome drink, but that after a long wait and the band finished. How their solve this problem though?

  • 5/5 Vinchel B. 5 months ago on Google
Beautiful place...and important to have the cocktails done right. Well done! As for the jazz music (in Nov), it appeals more to the conventional side, with song requests coming from the guests.

We recently visited the renowned Bamboo Bar, and I must say, it lived up to its legendary status! The overall experience was fantastic, from the delightful drinks to the captivating atmosphere and live jazz band. I recommend choosing indoor seating to fully enjoy the live jazz show; my visit was on a Friday. While the staff were generally attentive and helpful, I noticed that, within the 1.5 hours we were there, they repeatedly asked if we wanted anything else or if we were finished. We ordered four cocktails for two people in two separate orders, and it felt a bit excessive to be asked four times if we were finished. Interestingly, we observed that they didn't inquire as frequently with the foreign visitors, which left us with mixed feelings. In conclusion, although the experience was impressive, the persistent inquiries about our orders gave us pause. We might consider returning for a special occasion but perhaps not in the immediate future.

Absolutely loved this place. It was so quaint and antique with one of the best jazz band I’ve ever seen. Do not miss the cocktail menu this is based on different parts of Thailand. It was very unique and delicious. No wonder this place is in Asia top 50. What’s best is the price is also very decent! Do come early though as the band doesn’t stay until very late.

Its been a year since i stayed at Bamboo. It was around this time last year and for some reason, maybe the harsh and busy bangkok life that today my brain reminded me of how peacful and comfy it was in Bamboo. I stayed there for 50 days last year. Everything was lovely. Staff were nice, polite, generous and helpful. The house was always clean and comfortable. I only have great things to talk about this place. I very much miss sitting at the front restuarant area watching sunset . The view was majestic and serene. I would watching people plating beach valley ball. Surfers making deals with waves in the sea. Army, my favourite big furry dog sat in the sea chill as duck. Life was good there. You will go home with big bag of good memories. I think im going back to Bamboo soon :)
