nice ambiance and looked very clean! we were the only people at the restaurant (from 7-9pm on a tuesday night). they brought us the wrong food at first but then fixed their mistake quickly. food was OK, tasty although small when listed as main courses, but 1400 baht for 2 people (dinner, two beers and a soda) is in my mind pretty expensive for such a simple place in bangkok.

A gem hidden in a quiet alley. Beautifully decor with interesting knick-knacks, sentimental atmosphère and the live Thai music band are reminiscent of a distant past. Which was moving for me. We ordered the beef soup and spicy frogs, both were excellent. The frogs were indeed very spicy - which I also loved, since personally, I would usually prefer to be given the real thing instead of the usual easy-to-take for tourists. If you can't take spicy food, do tell them. One of my fav places in Bangkok. A very nice surprise.

Country styled pub that is family friendly with really chill vibe. Acoholic drinks are reasonably priced. Lots of interesting selection of food, a lot of them are of North Eastern cuisine. The live band was really good. It wasn't too packed when we were there, so it's probably nice to just have a drink and relax here too if you're travelling solo. Actually a nice little hidden gem

Avoid this place, full of hidden charges and not worth what you pay, very expensive. Firstly, they charge for the refresher towel they give you when you walk in without telling you that you are paying for it. Then they charge 40 baht for ice which was a tiny bucket and barely full, on top of the beer being warm. Then they add on a tax or service charge at the end, so two beers, three lemonades and one fries cost 640 baht! I know I cannot compare to Chiang Mai, where we are from, but this is outrageous! It is places like this that gives Thailand a bad name for scamming money out of people. This place should be ashamed and if you are going to add all those charges at least make your service good but that also was sorely lacking.

Hidden gem! This place was amazing. The food was great and the drinks were delicious. They even had a band playing traditional Thai music as well as new-age Thai and western music.

If you are looking for a very pleasant place with nice drinks and good food for a correct price, don't hesitate. Also great live music!

Great little place, totally relaxing evening with great food, beer and live music. I only popped in for a bite to eat and a beer, 5 hours later I'm still here enjoying the music and the beer

Can be potentially a good place to chill out. Price is higher than others but they they tried to charge me 40bhat for 3 cubes of ice in my beer. Waited a long time for my bill too. Owner replied to this review and said they won't charge, but had I not protested the charge, they would have left it on my bill N I had to pay. Owner probably could not find original handwritten bill that was submitted to me. I hope they know how to resolve this and train their staff to be more customers friendly. Afterall, your beers are more expensive than another pub in the neighbourhood

Truly one of Bangkok's best hidden gems. If you really want a fantastic night out while experiencing something authentic in Thailand, you have to drop by The Rain Tree. It was one of our favourite hangouts in the 2000s and I'm so stoked that it's still around. Something with more substance than yet another cool city bar or rooftop view, really great live music, good food, plenty of refreshments and killer vibe!! Right in the heart of the city. I love this spot!!

Super atmospheric, amazing band and acceptable prices of food and drink. Even if one does not speak a word of Thai, plenty great music to be enjoyed in this chill and comfortable vibe pub.

This is one of the most amazing places in Thailand. The band is so awesome. It probably has the best Thai band in all of Thailand. As far as I can tell, the same band plays every day, and they're really great. They know all the old, classic Thai folk songs. I especially like that they play a lot of Carabao. He's so awesome, and probably the best classic Thai musician. The food is great, but it's always super, super spicy. I always order it not spicy, but their version of not spicy is still pretty spicy. But...it's super, super delicious. Sometimes I go here just for the delicious food. Everyone's super friendly too and it's always so nice and enjoyable.

This is the second time I visit this place, English style pub with live music. Waiters continue to fill more glass to encourage you drink more, this I don't like!! Never experienced being charged 40baht for ice!! My friend had to get the bill adjusted, as things were added which were not ordered. On positive note it does have a good atmosphere.

Awesome experience. The food was great, the drinks were cold, and the tunes were perfect. It's a long Thai folk music that reminds me a lot of indie folk more than like bluegrass folk. I had no idea what they were singing, but I felt every word. If you find yourself in that part of Bangkok, check it out. Also, I've gotta call out how cool the decor is. The walls are just really fun to look at.

Fun chill out place. Before 9pm you can perform your own music. After 9pm the resident Thai performer appears. The food (Thai) is good and cheap. They only serve beer but were OK about wine being brought in from outside.

If you want a small glimpse in to the beating heart, the real soul of Thai ordinary people, this is it... The wonderful Raintree is a classic wooden old Thai bar, hidden away in the leafy cosmopolitan back soi of Rangnam near Victory Monument BTS, where you'll find Thai folk singers pouring their hearts and emotions in to the classic เพลงเพื่อชีวิต Thai songs about life, from the original dreams of revolution & tales of suffering

😐 The food and side dishes are alright. Kimchi was a bit too salty for my liking. Personally, I don’t think they offered that much variety of meat.
