I have loved coming to Brown Sugar, the last time in 2018 at it's old location. I just had to come to the new place located in Chinatown. We were not disappointed with the music, food and decor were stunning, so glad we could make it here as our last night in Thailand, thank you Brown Sugar!

Poor management of the seatings. We, as a couple, were seated at the table and already made an order for drinks and foods. A group of 8 walked in and the we were asked to move to seats with no sight of the band. It went downhill from there. Dont come if you expect the service to be on par.

Cool place to listen to the Jazz and live music. The cocktails are just so..so. The band is good but could be more interactive.

If your looking for good music, and a nice place to relax before you head out for a fun filled night. It’s worth checking this place out, I bought 2 beers and a meal for $20CAD roughly. Music starts at 9:30 so you’ll want to get there by 9 to get good seats.

An incredible jazz pub in Bangkok. I love to be there on Saturday night around 5 pm because the band "attention please" will be perform at midnight. They play pop jazz & rnb. The singer name Tangmo is one of thai diva. . Foods & Beverages is a bit expensive. For me, i think its the charge for quality band. . I totally recommended this place !

Nice place to hangout for great music. Good to be able to watch Attention Please band performing again. Would have been 5 stars if not for the f&b price which is slightly higher

In a small street off the main stretch. Really good jazz band, pricey drinks but great vibes. Good for an easy date night and chilling with hood music

Great music and good vibes. We went on a Thursday night and was able to be seated right away. We had satay chicken, fries, and a shrimp caesar salad....you can't really mess that up.

Good to have you back. Still feels not quite back at 100%, but hopefully getting there. I found the menu book did not look so nice and the place overall was a bit messy - untidy (ground and partially 2nd floor); the warm-up musician was good but a bit long for just one guy. There is more competition now than 30 years ago, so I am happy that you decided to re-open, but you may need a few more finishing touches. Will come again.

Live jazz band were great! And the sound was impressively good considering the room configuration and the equipment. Cocktails are average but not bad.

Awesome jazz, great Chinese decor which is fitting for the area. The manager/owner is really cool and accommodating, offering the back lift to the upper floors with my bad knee. Staff were great and can pour a solid beer. If you gig positive vibes and music come here. Ask for Tang/cucumber

Didn't try any food, but the drinks were decent. The live jazz band was absolutely amazing! I will definitely return the next time in Bangkok.

Good place for listening to the music, not that good for meeting with friends due to the volume is too high, can’t hear each other. Atmosphere is quite good, New Orleans style. Not feel like It’s in Thailand.

First time we went good food, decent price alcohol ,the second time the nachos were missing cheese and the tomato slices werent cooked and too thick on the pizza. The only thing consistent about brown sugar was the band which plays the same songs every night.

Nice spot for an evening out. The live music was enjoyable, although it wasn't jazz on the night we visited. The food was alright, but the drinks were delicious!

I didn’t plan to go here but I’m glad I did. Brown sugar has a wonderful cozy atmosphere with amazing artists and friendly staff.

Pretty nice venue for live music and great atmosphere. However, the prices are steep, and I was applied a 7% extra tax to my NEIPA resulting in my beer costing 400 baht, making it no doubt the most expensive beer I've bad and I'll likely ever have in the entire southeast Asia. Being close to the Chinatown street market and scared by the prices, we ate elsewhere.

Cute little jazz gem. Great little bar close to China Town. Prices are bit higher for the area but reasonable for good free live music, staff & service is excellent. Really enjoyed the jazz music last night. Would definitely go there again

The legend of Bangkok jazz scene since 1985, and one of Newsweek’s Best Bars in The World in 1997, this reincarnation of Brown Sugar is still a Must-Visit for Jazz lovers. There’s Happy Hour for both food and beer between 5-8 pm. Service is great and the staff and friendly and courteous.

The vibes on this place were great. Like legit great. I did pay 860 for 2 large IPAs so maybe just go with the Chang but don't let that deter you, I'd go back her again for sure.

Amazing jazzbar ! Quality music with quality service! The prices of the menu are higher then what you get used too,but it's worth it because normally you should pay a good music like this! So you pay for the entertainment! Come here anytime of the week and enjoy!

The waiter was extremely rude because we ordered only tea and french fries (we don't drink alcohol we just go there for music) He showed inappropiate gesture and facial expression. The music was good but we already felt completely shut down because of the waiter.

Was a little empty, so couldn't experience in full, but that's usually Bangkok in off-season. But really nice live "jazz" (slow Rock, 50s pop jazz) bar.

  • 5/5 Chalach Thiranont (. 4 years ago on Google
A good place to fancy your night with Jazz in Bangkok. There's a live scheduled every night. You might face a bit issue of where to park if you drive your own car there on weeekend.

Retro jazz bar & restaurant with good atmosphere. Plus points : 1. Great music & pretty musicians.(Amazing female vocalist) 2. Great ambience, vibes & crowd. 3. Good location, not very far from Khaosan road. 4. Great beer selection. (No craft beer) 5. Good cocktails. 6. Free entrance. 7. Kids allowed. Negative points : 1. Average food quality. 2. Quite expensive. (Taxes are extra, not shown in menu) 3. Doesn’t fit into a backpackers budget. [OK for one visit ;) ] 4. Jazz music not there every day even after announcing on FB. 5. Little sloppy service. Staff need to be more welcoming & friendly. 6. Less parking space outside on road. 7. Unpretentious setup from outside.
