The epitome of high end traditional Thai cuisine. We were blown away by how even spicy dishes can have subtle flavors and characters when prepared expertly by the chef here. If you are a tourist, be mindful that the spiciness level is better suited for locals. Go for the mild heat even if you believe you can handle spicy food.

One of my favourite restaurant in Bangkok. The restaurant has such an amazing traditional interior settings and great atmosphere. Food is delicious and authentic, cocktails are nice as well. Service is exceptional and staffs are super friendly. We’ll definitely come back to try more dishes. And if time allows, we would love to book the cooking class. Tips for visitors, please book in advance to secure your table. Highly recommended!

This place is just fantastic. Well worth it's Michalen star. We had the chef tasting menu with the matching wine selection. The staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes and the wines to accompany them. You need to book and it's ideal for a special occasion which we had. Would definitely return if in Bangkok.

Thailand has finally open its border and I finally managed to visit Thailand for my first post covid trip. Decided to add Blue Elephant in my itinerary. My first experience with Blue Elephant was their lunch menu a few years back and didn't disappoint. Decided to try their Chef's Tasting Menu and it was an awesome experience. Forget other "Michelin" street food with astronomical price and try Blue Elephant instead! Great service with good food. The menu is a good reflection of the art of Thai cuisine. The servers also surprised me with a birthday song.

In between high-rises there are old houses among green trees belonging to old-time dignitaries. When life became harder, they rented out or sold part of their properties. More of these are turned into offices and mid-city condominiums. On Sathon Road is a wellpreserved building once awarded by the Siam Architect Association. It served as a conference venue for Chinese merchant settlers in Thailand. It is currently a franchise restaurant, Blue Elephant, serving Thai authentic cuisine.

First time being here, it was truly an experience. From the interior, to the food and the service. These are not just normal traditional Thai food. These are high-end traditional Thai food. Every dish was a truly amazing experience as I was tasting new flavours that I couldn't even imagine. This place also sells small blue elephant souvenir. Very cute! Would come back here to experience it again.

Excellent atmosphere for really high-ended Thai cuisine, and every single dishes are truly art-piece. We have ordered a chef tasting menu for our dinner, and every dish are really carefully designed with mixture of ingredient and balance of flavour.

This is a review of the cooking class, not the restaurant. Housed in a colonial-like building, the school/restaurant was decorated with history. The classroom was conducive and air-conditioned, equipped with a demonstration cooking station with a birdeye live feed onto a TV screen. But i didn't find the live feed that helpful. The trainer was cordial and clear in her instructions. However, she didn't follow the recipes to the letter which can be tad confusing for anyone who hasn't cooked before. Furthermore, some ingredients looked similar. Thankfully, the staff was ready to guide at the practice kitchen. At the end of the class, everyone could enjoy their own creations at the comfortable dining area. It would be better if the establishment can ask students whether they would like to be seated separately from other groups before the meal begin. It should be a fun activity for groups and couples, especially for tourists who want to learn more about Thai food culture too!

The Blue Elephant cooking class was an absolute treat! I've always been intimidated by Thai cuisine, but Chef Min's patience and clear instructions made me feel like a pro in no time. She took the time to explain each ingredient and technique, and she was always there to answer any questions we had. The classroom was well-equipped and had plenty of space for everyone to work comfortably. We were given a set of recipes for the day, as well as an apron to keep. Chef Min demonstrated each dish before we started cooking, and she was always encouraging and helpful. The best part of the class was getting to eat our own creations at the end! Everything was delicious, and it was so rewarding to know that we had made it ourselves. We were also given a certificate of completion and a pack of Thai paste to take home. I highly recommend this cooking class to anyone who loves Thai food or wants to learn more about Thai culture. It was a fun and educational experience that I will never forget.

Was quite disappointed with my meal and overall experience. As one of the legendary institutions in town, quality was decent but a far cry from other culinary establishment who has far progressed ahead. Price point is extremely high for the quality and experience. Chains such as Nara or Baan Ice serves much superior quality in terms of traditional Thai cuisine at a fraction of the price. Feels very much like a tourist trap 😔

Embarked on a culinary journey at Blue Elephant Restaurant in Bangkok, and oh, what a feast! 🍽️ Indulged in the Chef's Tasting Menu, a symphony of royal Thai cuisine that was nothing short of a masterpiece. Every dish was a meticulous blend of specially selected ingredients, bursting with natural flavors and enriched with health benefits. The experience was not just a meal; it was a celebration of Thai culinary artistry. The ambiance was exquisite, the service impeccable. From start to finish, Blue Elephant is a treasure trove of gastronomic delights. A must-visit for those seeking an authentic and enriching Thai dining experience!

I hosted a group of 20 from across Asia to the Blue Elephant Cooking School. We started at 1330 by convening in a demo kitchen set up with 20 desks, one demonstration kitchen and a video of that demonstration shown on a large screen TV so that everyone could clearly see the chef at work. The chef prepared one a dish, clearly explaining the ingredients and cooking style. After the chef completed a dish he asked everyone to taste it while they transitioned into the kitchen. The group then went to 20 assigned cooking stations to cook it for themselves. There were several chefs walking and helping with any questions. In total we did this cycle four times, preparing 4 dishes. Blue Elephant offers different menus for different days of the week, but if you book the entire place you can choose your 4 dishes. After receiving their personalized certificates all 20 newly minted Thai chefs proceeded to the ground floor dining room where they were presented with their four dishes to enjoy for a late lunch / early dinner. Each of them was served the food that they themselves prepared. The transitions were very smooth. When the demonstration session was going on the kitchen was re-set for the next dish. Our team was able to prepare 4 dishes in 2.5 hours. I can highly recommend this experience for groups of up to 20 people.

Large wooden house hosting cooking school and a restaurant. We had set menu consisting of starter set, soup, mains sets and finally, dessert. Food was consistently very good, every single dish didn’t disappoint. Mocktails could be better though, ginger one was very bland. Service staff did a good job too.

This restaurant is probably till date, one of my top 3 Thai restaurants globally. The flavours, the service, and the ambience overall was just mind-blowing. Prices are also especially reasonable considering the quality of the Thai food! They have their own cooking school and their own ingredients/pastes, but we were there only for lunch. Whether it's the Thai curries, the crab, the tom yum soup, the fish, or simple things like spring rolls, I clearly remembered being very blown away, and still miss not being able to go back with this Covid19 situation. 3 of us, we had a feast, and totally didn't regret ordering this much. Right after that, foot massage to seal the deal! Soooo good!

The perfect way to end my first experience in Bangkok. Ambience was tasteful and beautiful - I felt like a kid in a candy store in their gift shop full of ceramics and cooking sets. The staff was extremely helpful and professional, and advised on how to best eat the dishes I ordered. Food, while on the pricier side, was heavenly. I had the foie gras with tamarind sauce and an herbed mash for my starter - perfectly balanced; a symphony in my mouth. The lamb curry was heavier but still delicious, though the only criticism I have is that the accompanying roti was too oily. I ended my meal with some amazing mango sticky rice. Will be back to sample more of their menu for sure!

(Translated by Google) Although there are Chinese waiters in the restaurant, the explanation is not detailed. It is clearly stated that the water does not cost, but you still have to pay for the checkout. You pay for it when you go out, and in addition to the 10% service charge, you have to pay 7% tax. Really, not very good. The starter of the set meal is one plate per person, but when it comes to the main course, 16 sets of everyone’s set meal (8 $1*00, 8 $2*00) are made into two large plates (although it is a local custom, But it’s like a quick stir-fry, a large plate of dishes) The atmosphere is gone, and sometimes everyone is sharing on the Internet. We also have to pay attention to reading a few more articles, so as not to step on the landmine. 😅 Regarding the store’s reply, I’m really dumbfounded. Are you sure you understand the problem? Obviously, it is said that water is not required, but the checkout requires money. I did not question the store’s materials, so the official language is better not to reply (Original)

Absolutely amazing first dinner in Thailand! We had the Thainess tasting menu and it was spectacular! The service was also out of this world. My girlfriend didn't really like the cocktail she had ordered and they offered her a different one at no extra cost. That is real 5 star service. We will be back 100% in fact we are planning to go the blue elephant in phuket soon and try the chefs tasting menu!

Awesome as always at Blue elephant. The atmosphere was like a restaurant somewhere but in Thailand lol Here’s full of foreigners. The ingredients, the quality, and the the taste are incredibly well-selected and well-cooked. The crab curry, the river prawn, and the dessert today were impressive.

Blue elephant has been around for years, serving top quality food and service in a beautifully decorated restaurant/building. The food for me however was a hit or miss, our favourite dish of the night was their signature massaman lamb curry - I highly recommend trying it! We really enjoyed the staff's attention to detail, service was superb and we had an overall great experience. Thank you!

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From service, to atmosphere, to food, everything was perfect. The first notable thing was the ambience. The lighting, the tasteful decor and the flower arrangements really show off the restaurant’s branding and Thai culture. For our dinner, we chose to do the Chef’s tasting menu. Every single element on the plates was so delicious. Note that you will definitely get a lot of food although it’s a tasting menu. We were so stuffed by the end. The food highlighted traditional Thai flavor pretty well. Some dishes are catered towards the western palate but I didn’t mind so much. My favorite was the crab meat coconut soup. The service was epitome of Southeast Asian hospitality. Every single staff member we encountered exudes warmth. They even made us a honeymoon fruit plate and gave us complimentary tea. I will be recommending Blue Elephant to every person I know who is coming to Thailand. Much love for this beautiful restaurant.

A luxuary Thai restaurant, served incredible flavour Thai dishes. With a very good atmoshere, delicious foods, great wine selection, wonderful cocktail bar and nice service, these make me feel so comfortable and enjoy my meal. The foods serve quite slow. The staffs were polite. The price was very expensive. Reservation muat be done.

We had an awesome time with Chef M. And the other 4 students in the class! The market tour was interesting and we tried several different fruits. Chef M. Provided meaningful instruction as she prepared the four dishes then as we prepared our own dishes. The staff went out of their way to make my husband’s birthday very special! Thank you for such a wonderful time!

We went there to celebrate birthday, the service and the historical setting are just great! We had a very enjoyable dining experience. With the perfect lighting and setting of their environment, photos taken there were fantastic. The food are awesome , not pricey but very delicious. I sent email to remark for our birthday celebration, I could feel they were so aware of our special occasion once we were greeted at the entrance already , the waiter and waitress sang happy birthday song to my friend in a big group with a complementary dessert plate. Really appreciated for the great effort in making our birthday celebration special. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely time at the cooking class. Very nice staff. We prepared some really delicious dishes. Nice kitchen to cook in. And beautiful restaurant to dine in. Even saw chef Nootor at the end. And her husband in the restaurant. Both seemed lovely. And we got a surprise dish served by the chef. Efficient class, almost a bit too much. Felt a bit rushed. We finished 30 min before the scheduled time. Some things that needs to improve: - We didn’t get the herbal tea and refreshing towel upon arrival as the website said - We were not encouraged to wash our hands before starting cooking (only about 20 min into the class) - I had informed about my partner being pescatarian, this was confirmed when booking and upon arrival in reception, however it was not communicated to the kitchen staff so there was meat at the cooking station, but it was sorted when we notified them - You eat everything at the end, meaning the food is not hot when you start eating. It got cold before I was able to taste / finish it all.

I gave four stars before. It's because that at that night the restaurant helped us to call a taxi, but the driver extorted more money than it should be, and didn't go by the meter. We asked him to go by the meter, he just got angry and asked us to get off the taxi. It's awful !That's not about the money. We just don't want to get fooled. I think maybe the restaurant should gain more attention on the cab service. As for the restaurant itself, everything is great, we enjoy all the dishes. Thank the chef and all the servants.

My visit to Blue Elephant in Bangkok was truly exceptional. The culinary journey began with an array of appetizers, each a delightful prelude to the gastronomic adventure that followed. The Pad Thai, a masterpiece in itself, showcased the chef’s mastery of flavors and textures. The wine recommendation complemented the meal impeccably, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff’s service was beyond reproach—attentive, friendly, and always timely. Their commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience was evident in every interaction. From the moment I entered, the ambiance exuded sophistication, creating the perfect backdrop for an exquisite meal. Blue Elephant has undoubtedly set a high standard for culinary excellence, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of impeccable taste and exceptional service in the heart of Bangkok.

Had dinner at Blue Elephant when visiting Bangkok for a vacation. The food was great and the service was excellent. My wife and I are vegetarians so there was a separate section on the menu for vegetarian food which was very helpful. We ordered Pina Colada, Asparagus Spring Rolls, Green Curry with Jasmine Rice and Mango with Sticky rice. All three dishes were delicious. The only thing I felt was that the tables were too close to each other so atmosphere was a little loud but otherwise had an amazing experience.

Stayed in Bangkok for 5 nights and booked Blue Elephant wayyy ahead of our trip because of its fame. We were looking forward to it very much and well.. that didn’t disappoint :) We were well greeted by the welcoming staffs and nice renovation. There is a large choice of food on its menu and we were greedy… so we ended up choosing their tasting menu. There was a small issue that tasting menu includes lamb and my wife isn’t a fan of it. The manager was nice enough and helped us change just her lamb to chicken. Food was amazing and with each dish, we just wished there would be a bit more haha. But by the end of the menu, we were just so full we could barely eat dessert. Staffs were nice and would come chat with us from time to time, ensuring everything was up to standard. It was a very enjoyable date night overall!

Service was impeccable for most of the meal. Food was very good and that left an overall great impression. Dropped the ball at the end as we felt forgotten during dessert. Also durian cheesecake lacked the texture that I wanted. Menus were a little hard to read and could be rewritten. But overall would be happy to return again.

Authentic gourmet Thai food in a high end setting. We rented the private dinner room for Xmas. The staff was great, chef presented each meal, and we had a wonderful time. The prices are fair for the atmosphere and quality. Gentlemen remember to wear pants for the dress code.

Cooking lesson in Phuket - Absolutely brilliant, would fully recommend! Started with a tour around the market with explanations of what to look for, what to buy, accompanied by a very in-depth knowledge of produce, pairings and flavours. The lesson its self provided a great insight to Thai cooking, how to make everything from scratch and, more importantly, why. The chef for the class (Phoo) was a delight to be taught by, a great teaching manner along with a genuine passion for his craft. Was the first time I’d taken a class and I’m very pleased I did. Will definitely be using the skills to try and recreate what I cooked today. Although, it will take some practice and patience to master. But all good things should!

A fine dining restaurant with excellent service and delectable dishes from a kitchen taken care of by a famous chef. Let's not discuss the price but some dishes are quite small in terms of quantity. The quality is great though. The place is also very atmospheric and sells other goods like souvenirs.

Visited the restaurant for anniversary during our holidays trip to BKK. They are very attentive to diners need with regular check. It’s a different taste of Thai cuisine with some fusion. Went for the chef tasting menu… The courses were so good that we wipe clean the plates at the beginning resulted us feeling food at the last 2 course of mains. Some dishes can be really spicy. Do heads up if you need the chef to alter some spice level. However there’s still some hit and misses. Love the duck confit. Very refreshing and appetizing! The chef dessert is all done well. Despite us being so full, the desserts have managed to clean our palate well. The Jasmine green tea ice cream 🍦 yummy Overall good and interesting experience. I must do say that the plating are well done with all the blue elephant item!

Visited for weekday lunch. Service was ok : attentive and pretty fast serving speed. Food quality is just so-so given it has so much fame and credit. It could have been four star but I feel the restaurant has been rushing orders out and missed a lot of details. For example, the pork ribs served has bones only and no meat. The fried prawn cake served was too hot to consume right away and almost hurt my mouth and throat.

impeccable service, superb Thai food, coupled with the fact of dining in a very special place ! That’s how we would describe our experience. This is our 12th Marriage Anniversary trip to Bangkok, Thailand and we chose to dine at the Blue Elephant. Venue was recommended by our Lifestyle Management and we would say that it’s an amazing recommendation indeed! Food is fantastic, not a single miss at all. Portion was a little big for the main courses though but for food of such quality, we did our best to finish what we could! We did over order a little! :P Service was excellent, led by Pin and her team. We were attended to every appropriate moment in a way that we didn’t felt “overly served”. Staff was very attentive and changed our plates at each intervals to ensure we had clean plates to enjoy our dinner. We had the wonderful privilege to also meet up with the Blue Elephant’s Master Chef - Chef Nooror Somany Steppe! She has a lovely character and made sure we felt at home in this wonderful venue. What an honor indeed! We highly recommend this not only just for special occasions but also to just dine whenever you visit Bangkok. The food is reasonably priced given its exceptionally high standards of culinary finesses! A must visit and worthy of such commendation! 5 stars indeed! Well done Chef Nooror and your wonderful team! Tip: Spend some time to walk around the building. Visit the shop and also take a peek at the culinary school. If you have time, schedule a session to learn how to prepare a Thai dish! We believe this will be an experience well it’s worth! It is our first but definitely not the last.

Great food. Everything we tried was superb, even the rice! I think it is infuse with coconut to make it more fragrant and tasty. This is a restaurant to to try when you visit Bangkok. Service is comparable to any 5-star restaurant. Professional. The place is a bit pricy, but you have to at least try it once!

We tried the set menu for lunch. Excellent way to sample items at the restaurant. They were very accommodating for our dietary needs. Gluten free and vegetarian. Staff were excellent and atmosphere is beautiful. All the food selections gave us a taste of Bangkok in style. Recommend to try this out. Don’t expect street food prices, but bring your fine dining mindset.

The service taste and atmosphere was perfect. It was traditional thai taste(I assume). The chefs tasting menu sure was plenty and gave an opportunity to try several more dishes.

extraegent place with a touristy feel to it. the building has been renovated well, the second floor is beautiful and the wood floor feels great walking on. staff and waiters are super well trained and professional although they did forget some orders we made.with no tourists now, it will be a quiet evening with family to visit and try the mainly central Thailand cuisine.

Wonderful dining experience with professional staff, amazing food, calming and creative atmosphere. We were rather surprised to have the whole place to ourselves on a Thursday evening; perhaps due to the situation, there are less people visiting restaurants, but hopefully more people can come and discover this culinary gem in Bangkok.

Wow. What an amazing dining experience. We went here for a 30th birthday meal. I had the Thainess Set Menu and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and the service was impeccable. The rest of our group ordered from the standard menu and also enjoyed Thier meals.
