DID - Dine in the Dark

Restaurant Fine dining restaurant

👍👍 Interesting experience. It was entirely dark. It was enjoyable to do with family and friends, some of the food was difficult to eat with a fork, so I had to use my hand lol. The waiters were all visually impaired, yet they were all really skilled and competent, which was impressive. People often mention experience, great, good, service, dark, enjoyable, staff, dining, senses, darkness,

Amazing experience! Out of this world sensations that I never thought could be possible during a dinner! The staff are very welcoming, they speak perfect English and are available for all our needs. Definitely recommend you try dining in the dark at least once!

It was confirmed that DID was closed on November 1st. So I hope you don't walk in vain.

This is a place where you must use all your senses to eat but not your eyes. It is in a total darkness. Phones and all belongings are being stored in lockers. The server guides you everything, from walking to sitting on our seat, with cutlery, and we don't even know what we eat until the end of the sessions. The taste is really good, it's a true fine dining.

Impressive new experience dinner. We admired all staffs here especially blind staffs treating us. We enjoyed food with using smell, hand, tonguebud without seeing anything.

Very special experience. Definitely worth a trip. Guided by blind server into a totally dark space, I still felt safe with enough company. Food was good, air conditioner was strong, keeping warm was important. Servers are friendly. Got to say it's amazing to experience some food without seeing them, hard to judge what I just ate.

Didn't get to go inside but I spoke to the staff about it at length. It will reopen after the covid period has passed. The day great things about the restaurant and good offerings. Given the fact that it's the only restaurant of its kind in Bangkok ranks it one of the more off the beaten track experiences to indulge upon.

An unique dining experience in Bangkok. I highly recommend DID Bangkok to tourists or anyone looking for an unforgettable night out with friends. Reasonably priced menu, great food, and excellent service. There are however few things I’d recommend DID to change. The waiter working outside the dark room should go through a more intensive English training, as we were unable to understand a word he was saying, which led to countless confusion and misunderstanding. DID also needs a lot more waiting staff at the bar area. After our waiter brought us out, he disappeared and no one came to serve us. We didn’t even get our after meal beverages and had to leave because we were waiting for way too long. Last but not least, they were extremely fixated on us not finishing the soup. We explained 3 times that it’s more common for us to eat the “stuff” in the soup, and not drink the liquid. However, due to language barrier, we felt somewhat uncomfortable when bombarded with interrigatory questions. Nevertheless, these are all minor problems. That was my 3rd visit to DID Bangkok and I would continue to visit this establishment every time I bring friends to Bangkok.

Went here for my birthday bash with small group of closed friends for a good cause. We have private room, they serves nice food and the best service by blind waiter and waitress (which was great. Basically you experienced how the blind live and enjoying their everyday life without complaint. And made us all realised never take life for advantage. Hence we still have fantastic time, great laughs, great food, great games and most importantly great company. Recommended.

The experience at this place is AMAZING! When they say its "dark" they mean COMPLETE DARKNESS, something which most people haven't truly felt. You have to hold the waiters shoulder and he/she guides you to your table from the front door of the restaurant. The darkness also makes use of your other senses for taste cause you really have no idea what your eating until you try it. The food quality is why I can't give this place 5 stars. For the price there are much better options. In the end you're really paying for the experience and when you're hungry it's a let down.

No photos available because the dinner is really in complete pitch darkness. You place your trust in the waiter or waitress to take you to the table, where they explain where everything is - it's up to you to use your other senses to drink and eat through touch and feel. All staff very friendly. Food was 'okay' but this is for the experience. Fun, recommended and enjoyable for a unique experience.

We were expecting an okay food, only here for the experience but the reality is the food was much better than we thought. It was a fusion of Thai and western. Unexpectedly delicious. The server was one of the kindest I’ve ever interacted with my whole life. Once you get inside it is pitch black darkness. However, your eyes will get adjusted to it. It’s such a unique experience. Give them a try.

Amazing experience! Completly pitch black. Which helps really scent the food. Service was very gentle and kind. Loved the game of trying to figure out what we are eating and get the surprise results at the end ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dining at Dine in the Dark, is an experience I won't soon forget. You enter through BarSu at the Sheraton Grande, and from the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff, particularly Khun Moo, made us feel incredibly welcome. Khun Moo's warmth and guidance eased us into the experience, creating a comfortable atmosphere amidst the initial uncertainty of dining in complete darkness. The concept of eating without sight initially felt daunting, but to my surprise, it turned out to be much easier and more enjoyable than I had anticipated. The absence of visual distractions allowed me to fully immerse myself in the sensory experience of the meal, heightening my other senses and making the dining experience uniquely cozy and intimate. As for the food, while it was satisfactory, it was the overall experience that truly made the meal memorable. Dine in the Dark offers a journey that challenges your senses, and a rare opportunity to disconnect from the visual world and connect with more strongly with the people around you and the nuanced layers of flavors.

Great experience at dine in the dark! Walked past this place and decided to give it a try. Wasn't aware that they hire visually impaired servers - it is really a good concept! Food was really excellent and fabulous! Our server (Moo) speaks excellent english and has made our dinner enjoyable - always checking in and make sure that we are alright and that the dishes are to our taste. I did not mentioned prior that I do not like lamb and Moo immediately switched my dish for me upon knowing about it. This is a must try for everyone! I booked through chope and had a B$500 discount. Once again, very grateful to Moo and the staffs for letting us such an enjoyable experience.

Amazing experience. We went for dine in the dark experice. Our host was Ms. Warin/ Moo (nickname). She was extremely kind and conversations with her after the dinne was my highlight of the day. The experience in itself was new and surprisingly awesome. Thank you Warin. I hope you come to Sri Lanka.

Absolutely loved our experience at Dine in the Dark! We just walked by and saw the sign, and decided to try it out - it was fantastic. The food was amazing and the experience overall is truly unique. All the waiters are completely blind, and you dine in absolute darkness. The food is easy to eat but a culinary treat that will leave you guessing - just as fun as eating it! We opted for the surprise menu, and they were great at accommodating any allergies and dietary preferences. Our waiter, Ball, was humourous, knowledgeable, and overall just spectacular. Highly recommend Dine in the Dark for a great evening of food and a very memorable time overall!

We went there on 15.12.2018, it was an awesome experience and is highly recommended. Our waitress Sai was really professional, polite and kind. She did a great job, our respect for serving so well in the dark. She told us in the end that it was her first time serving at Dine in the Dark. The food was really good we had an amazing evening. Also thanks to the Service Manager who welcomed us. Everyone was really friendly.

😐 Seafood lunch buffet was good, the steak was soft and tender. No complaints here about the food. Only concern was that we booked for 2 people at 1300 baht each with Eatigo (10% off) and the bill came out to be 5564 baht. The waiter explained that this was because of the 10% service charge and 7% VA...
