This kind of place is why I read Google reviews. First visit to Bangkok and travelled with my family, a mix of vegetarians and meat eaters. This place was close to our hotel and since I'd read previous reviews I couldn't wait to visit. Firstly we were greeted with a fist bump (blow it up!) when we signalled that Jeng was our cafe of choice instead of the one next door. As mentioned elsewhere the staff speak fantastic English, there is also a large vegan/vegetarian menu to choose from. We all chose our dishes with all questions answered by our hosts. The food came out quite quickly as we were a large group and we were all very happy with our food (the spring rolls were the best ever!!!!) Very reasonable prices and happy faces all round. To top it all off, and to show how wonderful our Thai hosts were, when my mum left her pencil in the cafe by accident one of them got on a bike and came after us to make sure she got it back. You'd never get that in the UK! Hope to return one day. Highly recommend!

This is a great little place for some quick, easy, tasty and cheap food. The staff are very friendly and food is cooked and served really quickly. Beers are nice and chilled and they have a good list of other drink options. Some of the reviews here are judging the place with the wrong criteria - you want top gourmet Thai food? Go and pay top prices somewhere else!! Duh! All of the dishes we had were very tasty (all vegetarian) and the Papaya Salad had a nice spicy kick too! They actually have a completely separate menu for their vegetarian choices - how cool is that??

Very tasty Thai food with a great price. Came here twice in my stay, wished I tried more. Flavorful and very delicious. The food didn't take long, they offer also vegetarian menu.

The Tom Kha was tasting good but the pad Thai didn’t, the shrimps were old and we found a few small red ants in the soup and in the papaya salad.. not really the best to be honest

Best Thai street restaurant ever? Perhaps. I’ve lived in Thailand for 6 years and this little spots checks all the boxes: cheap, delicious, great menu, and friendly. I recommend the pad Thai with tofu, pork and basil, chicken and cashew and make sure to start with some spring rolls!

Very disappointing chicken Pad Thai and fried noodle dish - flavors were mild and flat. Spring rolls were drenched in oil. Should have known this was going to be disappointing, seeing how everyone was a tourist (no locals) eating there, all the Google reviews were from tourists, and they had a "No MSG" sign by the menu 😶🚩. Don't be desperate like us and go where there are at least SOME Thai people eating there or look at Grab for restaurant ideas (at least there, you can see restaurant ratings from the locals).

It is not hard to be happy - first step, go to Jeng’s and order anything but make sure to get mango sticky rice. No faff, no frill, just quality food made by Jeng.

The food here is very tasty, very affordable and the lady that works here is so nice. We came here 3 times already and plan to visit again on our next stop in Bangkok. If you are in this location, I absolutely recommend you to visit this good place. Probably the best pad thai that we tried during our month in Thailand.

My favorite place for local, cheap Thai food! They serve the food very quickly, the amount is good and it is delicious!! My two favorites were the Tom Kha Soup (coconut soup) with Tofu and the Massaman Curry with tofu. Definitely my to go place for dinners in Bangkok after a long day of visiting!

Brilliant food. Excellent range of vegetarian options and the best spring rolls we had in 3 months in SEA. The couple who run it are so kind and friendly.

Delicious food off the beaten path. Much nicer dining experience than on Khosan Road or other busy tourist areas. We had Tom Yum Soup, Pad See Ew, and spring rolls and I wish we were staying longer so we could come back. Staff were friendly, beer was the cheapest we've seen it, and the food was very good

Superb local restaurant serving delicious Thai food for really cheap prices (60 baht pad thai, 80 baht large Chang beer). They have a whole vegetarian menu and understand how to make dishes vegan. The owner and staff are really friendly and the whole place just has such a great atmosphere!

Yum! A cute little restaurant in a quaint alleyway not far from Khaosan area. Super friendly staff, so welcoming. The cooking is authentic, you write down your own order from the hand written menu. A lovely selection of traditional Thai dishes. We had a chicken pad See ew and green curry. There were lots of other delicious things that grabbed our eye too, like crispy pork and kale and other curries. The food was delicious and came out quite quickly. Yummy condiments, especially the pick nam pla (sorry about my spelling ooops!) hugely recommend!

The food was good, but not as amazing as some of the reviews suggested. Garlic and chilli prawns were a little overcooked. Panang curry was nice. Really friendly service and good value.

Amazing food, amazing breakfast and the most friendly staff! It’s really cheap but so good and vegetarian friendly!! Definitely worth to go there for every meal :))

Fairly local restaurant with non-inflated prices. Menu is available in multiple languages. Loved this place so much we ate here almost morning we were in Bangkok. If you are in the area and you don’t have a breakfast included with your room or you want to try something a bit more local than baked beans and sausage I would highly recommend coming here. Their clams , tom yum and pad thai were great. To be honest I haven’t had a dish here that wasn’t delicious

Very good choice, prices and service. Green curry was a little milder than I'm used to but will try the red one next time. Good amount of chicken (picture shows remains after eating my fill) . Well worth a visit!

👍👍 Undoubtedly the best Pad Thai. This beats all the others. A note of caution - since November 2021 they open for TAKE AWAY ONLY between 10am and 5pm. Get there early, we arrived not knowing this at 4:10pm and the queue was already forming. Excellent attentive and helpful staff tend to every need. The...

👍👍 We waited for 3hrs after arriving at 9:30am, and finally eat our food at 12:30. I suggest to arrive before the shop opens, maybe around 8-8:30am. The omelette is not too flavorsome, just full of crab. The fried fried rice noodle is shockingly good, the texture of the noodle itself is super stretchy,...
