IMHO this restaurant has been overrated. There was a long queue when we arrived at around 9pm, waited about 1hour until we were seated. The food was just so so. Fried scallop was not good, strange texture. The famous mama noodle was a disappointment, noodle was too soft, i can cook better at home. Those ingredients came with noodle were mediocre, except the deep fried pork was crunchy and tasty. Price is very reasonable but definitely meal like this is not worth 1 hour waiting.

A must eat restaurant with Michelin star located in Bangkok, near BTS Siam. The mama tomyum noodle is amazing, pork neck and also very tasty. The wait here often very long 😂 and you have to wait from 30-2 hours... but trust me, it totally worth the wait....

Amazing. Please do get the voucher from Klook if you’re planning ahead - you can skip the long snaking queue of the walk-in customers. The food truly lived up to the restaurant’s reputation. Everything was so delicious. The Tom yum noodles deserves the fame it gets. The ingredients were also generous and fresh. It honestly isn’t a fancy restaurant but we enjoyed our meal here. The indoor seats were also nicely ventilated despite the hot weather. We ate in comfort. The deep fried pork shoulder with sour dip was also a highlight - so tender and flavourful! We will definitely come back again the next time we are in Bangkok.

A Michelin-starred restaurant recommended online. The food is really good but somewhat overrated. The prices are within a reasonable range, but if you don't have a reservation, the waiting time easily exceeds an hour. It's worth a try if the waiting time is less than half an hour.

The hype is real. Went at 3pm to take my queue number and was assign first group to enter at 4pm when they officially open. Figure this is the best way besides the klook booking. Food was fantastic, crab was fresh and the vegetable tasty. Highlight has to be the moo krop fried pork belly. Juicy and fat!! Tom yum noodle with just the right amount of spice. Overall highly recommended. Went for food so could care less about the lackluster service.

I had the pleasure of coming to visit this extremely busy restaurant today. Every dish we had was absolutely yummy. Service was quick, polite and honest. Despite crowded conditions, the food was served without difficulty, and the price is adequate regardless of being a Michelin star restaurant. However, getting in isn’t effortless. I arrived at 3 pm. And took a number. An hour later, I got back to the place and waited to be called. It was about 50 people ahead of me, so it took like 20 mins to be called on. Having said that, I suggested that you’d do the same. Otherwise, expect the wait time to be an hour or more or less. Anyway, I enjoyed the crowded atmosphere ( love looking at what other people ordered) and how the food tasted. It really satisfies the hunger and satisfied my curiosity.

Be patient, the queue here will always be massive. Plenty of Chinese tourists but they don’t have enough patience level to wait for anything so you will notice many queue numbers getting skipped. In my case, 2 hours wait reduced to 1 hour, that was easy. This shop has always been a casual Thai street food so definitely not worth the wait for many high expectation foreign customers but for me, I appreciate simple, well-prepared Thai food. Long wait is basic, I even came here right after a long day of work. Food arrive quickly, everything taste delicious as it looks. Shrimp asparagus dish was tasty because of fresh ingredients. Mama noodles with pork balls, raw egg yolks in herbaceous tomyum broth also comforting. Even though it’s hot as hell in Bangkok, piping hot, spicy instant noodle with toppings taste incredible. Fried egg tofu with chili garlic, fried scallops also worth mentioning. Those are great together with rice. Overall, everything I order were simply delicious, well worth the money. But this restaurant is infested with crazy amount of customers, the dining area inside remains very messy, quite dirty so I just wanted to eat quickly and leave! Definitely will come back though.

Best of the best. My all time favorite place No.1 ข้าวต้ม Kaotom restaurant. I don’t recognize how many times I had visited but all I know is everything always the same. Sending respect to the chefs and owner for a greatness job and always maintaining the food quality!!! Price - Very reasonable Taste - As Michelin guide deserved Quality - Superb Please expect the wait on the queue but it’s worth it.

This restaurant opens at 16:30, you definitely need to be there within 5mins, otherwise there will be a long queue for entering. Actually they serve quite fast. The fried pork is so crispy and tasty, I love this dish with lime and green chili which makes it less oily. The noodle is something you must order here. Don’t miss it!

Bustling eating place even before it officially opens. Food is definitely worth the travel and price. The star for us was the pork, more than the mama noodles. Also like the yum salmon, which is quite different from the soy kind we had so far. And the kangkong is so nice & crunchy, no sandy taste and not overcooked. Would love to try the mama noodle with crab legs next time.

A very popular and must-try Thai-Chinese restaurant both Thai and foreigner!!! There are many recommended menus such as - Spicy Salmon salad(ยำแซลมอน) - Fried crispy pork (หมูกรอบ) - Mama Tom Yum (มาม่าหม้อไฟ) Etc. There are various menus but very very long queue. You can grab the queue at the restaurant and having some dessert while waiting the queue 🥰 But after you order, the food come very fast!!! Great experience 🤍 🚗 No car parking but you can park at The park (not free)

Great salmon salad and Tom yum noodles soup! Yummy 😋 Crispy fried pork was good too, just a little oily. Overall, satisfied with the food. We went there for the first time around 9PM and went away after seeing the super long queue. Then 2nd visit we got there at around 4.10PM today and managed to get a comfortable seating inside. To avoid disappointment, please get to the restaurant before 4.30PM, as early as you could. Otherwise, please expect to wait in long queue under the super hot and humid weather. 🙂

Insane queue. We wait for more than 1 hour to get a table. We order the most hyped food - mixed tom yum noodle, with salmon salad and omelette. The food is fairly priced, but for me the food and the taste are really over-glorified. The tom yum is basically mama instant noodle with condiments. The salmon cut was quite awful, it comes with various sizes and thickness, some of it even still have bone in it. No complain on the omelette tho.

Don’t waste your time if you have to line up for 2hrs. Very average Thai mama noodle, non-tender just like 711 cup noodle, except it has more seafoods and meat balls. In fact, the stir fried veggies is better than its noodle. Shrimp cake is better. BBQ pork comes with strong pig taste. Do not recommend for the wait.

Long queue to get seated. There will be a table to let you get a number then we've waited for 1 hour to get our table. The famous food is just the mama mee, the rest are just normal. We paid 850 baht for mama mee that's for 4 people's sharing. This is a Michelin guide to visit here in Bangkok. But to me, visiting this place once is good enough. Won't be coming back again given the long queue and food is nothing spectacular.

This place features on most people's to do lists and we're no exception. We must've had good timing, waiting less than 10mins to be seated. We ordered the signature dish and large side of the crispy pork. The tom yum feels like an approximation of what the authentic flavours would be, not that it's a bad thing. The pork could've been better as others have mentioned. The crispiness was spot on but temperature and texture of most pieces was lacking. For the price paid and time waited, the meal was fair. However, would definitely eat elsewhere if we had to wait any longer. Probably wouldn't be back now that we've tried it. Lastly, it's cool to see the matriarch still holding down the fort.

🍜 Jen O Chula Restaurant Review 🍜 **🥘 Tom Yum Soup with Pork**: This soup is the crown jewel of Jen O Chula. The broth is simply heavenly—bursting with authentic Thai flavors that tantalize the palate. The noodles were generous, and the entire dish was served in a massive bowl, making for a hearty meal. While I opted for the pork variant, I've got my eyes set on their seafood version for next time. A must-try! 😋 **🥗 Cashew Salad**: A cute addition to the meal but didn't particularly stand out. It's a solid choice if you're in the mood for something light, but don't expect to be blown away. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 **🍤 Deep Fried Shrimp with Tofu Sauce**: The shrimps were crispy and well-prepared—a crunchy delight! The tofu in the sauce, however, was a tad too soft for my liking. Regardless, it's an interesting mix of textures and flavors. 🦐 **🍣 Spicy Salmon Salad**: While the spiciness was a bit overpowering for me, the salmon itself was exceptional. Big, succulent pieces that scream quality. Pro tip: Dip them in the Tom Yum soup for an epic combo. It's a game-changer! 🔥🔥 **🕓 Visiting Tips**: We dropped by around 4:20-4:30 p.m. and guess what? No waiting line! We were seated immediately and the service was swift and efficient. I'd highly recommend visiting around this time for a seamless dining experience. --- In summary, if you're after an authentic Thai experience, Jen O Chula won't disappoint. On my next visit, it's going to be the Tom Yum soup and salmon all the way! 💯🤩👍🏼

Klook reservation helped to skip queue, paid for a 2-3 person set. Food was very spicy for someone who eats very little spice, but staff will ask how spicy you'd like it. Taste was very good and portions were big for 2 of us.

Famous restaurant that constantly has snakingly long queues. The Mama Tom Yum Noodle was definitely the highlight of this meal. The spicy and sourness instantly hits you and it goes perfectly with the Mama noodles. I was also impressed by the Salmon Salad due to the size of the salmon and the freshness of it. The crispy pork also stood out, the skin was crackling and the pork fatty goodness that explodes in your mouth. The only downside for this restaurant is their queue management as they will just assign each diner/group a number which they will announce.

Queue for 1 and half hour for the famous instant mama noodles! I enjoyed the roasted pork. It is scored 4 / 5 cause of the long queue. By the way, the salad salmon is good too. It should order as starter too. 😂

This place to eat is highly recommended, when you come, you will be surprised by the long queues. Obviously because the food here, especially the tomyum, captivates the heart because the taste and the portions are quite a lot. Prices for here are fairly standard (not too expensive and not too cheap). In terms of location, it is on the side of the road, there is parking. And while we are waiting, we can buy snacks that are around this place to eat. This place, best of tom yum noodle.

It’s a restaurant, and not a listed hotel. It is definitely overrated and slightly overpriced. One could expect to wait for up to an hour here but if you come around 4:15-4:30 you could pretty much get in right away. Food is good, and should be good at this price. Their most popular dishes are the tomyum seafood noodle soup and salmon salad. Service needs improvement. Everyone around me got their orders taken and food served except for me and I came in the same time if not earlier. They also charged a 5B service fee on top of the overpriced food.

The food here was undoubtedly good and affordable price to taste authentic Thailand food however the waiting time and queue to get a table is crazily difficult. Waiting close to 3 hours before I am seated. But from there onwards everything is pleasant. The dishes are simple but delicious and the service is also good. Don’t forget to get yourself a coconut as the coconut serve there is to try for. All in all a good and bad experience but will be open to come again next time with better planning and time management.

Delicious tomyum noodles!! Would recommend the assorted option if you wanna try all the ingredients like I do! Prawns were fresh, pork meatballs were pretty normal to me. Roasted pork was the best to me and provide a good crunch! However note that the soup is rather spicy!! Visited at 11pm and still a pretty big crowd. Waited about 30min for a table even though the staff quoted 1h upon getting an number.

Good to try once at least! Always have long queues - get your queue number at the front and go for a walk before coming back. Our queue was 1 hour long at 4.45pm on a Thursday. The food and service was very fast - everything came in less than 10 minutes, and it was delicious! The coconuts are so fresh and a must order!! 🥥 Also got the tomyum w meatballs, stir fried morning glory and crispy pork 😋

Mama Noodles was pretty good. I typically gravitate to spicer places in Thailand. It would have been nice to see more spice to the food. This place came highly recommend and it was good overall. The scallops were a hit and the raw shrimp ceviche was refreshing. The service was quick! Food came fast and the staff paid attention to when you were ready to order.

My visit to Jeh O Chula on a rainy day exceeded expectations. Surprisingly short queue despite arriving late after operating hours, we secured a seat in just 15 minutes. A must-try spot in Bangkok, make sure to grab a queuing number from the front desk. The food was delightful, and although the atmosphere felt a bit chilly due to the rain, it added a unique touch to the experience.

Fresh seafood ingredients, but averaged foods taste. Mama mee was well cooked, tender and not soggy. We ordered Alaska Crab Meat Stick and it was a disappointment, more like frozen food to me. Expected long queue, estimated 2 hours of waiting time. Just proceed to front desk at entrance and let them how many pax, no language barrier, after that you will get a piece of small notes written your queue number. Staffs are friendly, helpful and really fast. We were arranged to sit at outdoor large table. Local ambient, humid weather and full of tourists.

The food at Jeh O is not only delicious but also served with impressive speed. Once you're seated at your table, the dishes arrive promptly, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. To make the most of our time, we opted to hire a queuing service, allowing us to time our visit and skip the wait. For a nominal fee of only 200 THB, it was definitely worth it.

The food was alright. We got the package from Klook so we didn’t have to wait but could use a reservation. The package included a mama tum yum noodle, crispy port belly, yum salmon, and stir fried morning glory. It’s pretty local and worth a try, but not worth 2 hours of wait.

Finally understood why people are willing to wait to eat this highly popular Tom yum mama noodles. Broth was fragrant and would recommend you eat while it is hot as the noodles will turn mushy overtime in the soup. Roast pork was tasty, the skin was crispy and fragrant. Definitely a must try when in Bangkok. Recommend you take a queue number and explore the area while waiting. If you miss your number, just let them know and they will put you back in the shorter queue

This place is so popular. We arrived slightly before 4.30pm, there was already a crowd outside waiting to be seated. We get a queue number from the front desk and seated by 4.30pm (first batch). Place is consider clean and service is prompt, time gap in between dishes is not fast though. Extensive menu. Food is a hit-and-miss to me. Fried pork belly taste good, but it would be better if it’s cut into smaller pieces. Squid salad - too chewy and I can only taste spiciness in the sauce. Stir fry asparagus and prawn- perfectly cooked, asparagus still crunchy and the prawn is fresh. Finally the signature Tom yum noodle - taste good, noodle is perfect, soup is elevated version of the mama instant tomyum noodle, but again the squid on top is too chewy. Worth to try once if you have additional slot in your schedule, just need to pick the right dishes. (Note: you can check out klook for the “fast track access” that comes with a set menu).

I visited this restaurant on Friday night for dinner. She said we might have to wait 30 minutes but waited more than an hour more to get into the restaurant. The famous ramen tasted OK, and maybe just one time is good enough for me.

The acclaimed Jeh O Chula certainly is an highlight of our Bangkok trip. It is a very busy restaurant and looks very chaotic with large crowds outside the restaurant. We have an appointment set up and we got in exactly the time assigned to us. The service crew was outstanding and able to serve us fast and accurately. Definitely recommend everyone to try out the nice food here. The chilled coconut drinks is the best choice to go with the food and weather.

Lucky me, met the legendary Madam Jae Oh on my visit in July 2023. We came around 11 pm, get queue number and wait for around 45 minutes. You can walk around the street and try other street food, but remember to check queue number every 15 minutes. The Tom yum noodle is very yummy, big portion and lots of topping (crispy pork is the best). And the Salmon taste really good. Definitely will come back again when visiting BKK.

This place is always packed & crowded. You'll never get your meal without queueing. The queue starts even before they open. My 1st time here was about 3 years ago & here i am again. Waited 45 minutes before getting seated. Their flavours will leave a deep impact on your tastebud. There's many other places selling similar dishes, but it's just different to eat it here. The mama tomyam noodle is too my likings, spicy, sour & creamy. The best is the roasted pork, which is very crispy.

out of the 4 items we ordered, the famous tomyum mama noodles was delicious and photo worthy. salmon is fresh and good, veges are nicely fried but the pork was very underwhelming. skin was crispy but meat was cold and hard. tastes bland as well. overall a very good experience but be prepared with a snaking long queue. definitely will be back for more

The overall service and experience was great. Would recommend most food. The mama noodle came in a very big portion hence if you’re coming, don’t be too ambitious! If you are coming, do expect the long queue of up to 1-2 hours. Recommended!

Bib Gourmand award eatery house with theirs signature Tom Yum Mama Oho Hot Pot (recommend try all-in-option) will definitely worth for long queuing. The Most luxury instant noodles at its best version suit for 2-3 pax sharing. Consider to have Deep fried Pork Belly for add on it is super good.

Be warned on the waiting time and experience. Suggest to put in your name and go ahead and wander around the streets and come back. Wait time for me was 2h at dinner time. (understand later there is some online platform that would allow booking) Food is as mentioned great for me as the main dish of mama noodle lives up to it's name. I taste a hint of cheese that makes it special tho I don't see any remnants. Get them to suggest the best dishes for u. Salmon salad, fried pork, omelette is a must try. Overall worth visiting this once as a Michelin try.

Visited this Michelin-Star restaurant. I need to give my honest feedback but what I shared are my own personal experiences and also my tastebud. 😊 Before visiting this place, from what I read from the review on the long waiting times, I decided to go early and reached the restaurant at 4.20pm or so. Was immediately ushered into the shop without waiting. I was lucky as queue started to form in last than 15min after I arrived. The staffs are prompt to attend to you. Once seated, I ordered the signature tomyam mama mee, the pork omelette, spicy Kang Kong and fried pork neck. First came the plates of kang Kong n pork omelette... the taste is fabulous with the first few bites. However, after the mama mee was served and taken the first bite... the soup/dish was prepared in a way which was too salty to the max. I gave it a score of 8.5/10 for the saltiness level. It affected the taste sense of your tongue and the aftertaste remained which affected the taste of other dishes. I would recommend future patrons to try out other dishes first before the mama noodles. After I left, the queue is so long that I believed the waiting time going to be at least 1.5hr. Due to my first try experience plus looking at the queue, I won’t wait that long if I was to come back to this restaurant again for the second time. I would rather try out other restaurants in Bangkok. Given the above, I would only give a 3 stars rating. P.S. The chef should look at how the mama mee was prepared. 😅

Food are typical local and the price was so impressed due to it just cost me 1800 THB for 10 dishes different menu. They use high quality ingredients, the taste amazing and feel the city atmosphere. Get ready that you need to wait for table at least 30-45 minutes but worth it.

Overall , the food is really great , so it make sense you will expect a extremely long queue until your turn to dine in. The fried pork belly is indeed one of the best I had ever so far. No more word need to describe , the food is just amazing and delicious. The only problem is the queue is very long and you need to expect to wait at least 1-2 hours at the roadside. The restaurant do provide some chairs for people who are queuing to sit and rest but do expect heat as well due to the hot weather in Bangkok.

Definitely worth the hype! We had the noodle mix soup with seafood and pork and I’m telling you… OMG!!! The best dish I had in Thailand! Perfectly balanced and spicy, they said a little bit but it was quite spicy for me, but sooo good! We also had morning glory veggies and a pork mince dish, also very tasty. We went at 16:00 and we had a waiting number 82 and had to wait half an hour but it was totally worth it! If we had more time in Bangkok I would revisit for sure.

One of the best local street food in the area. Cripsy pork, tom yum noodle, and spicy salmon salad are definitely a must!! Usually around 1 hour+ waiting time but worth the wait😍

  • 4/5 Greg L. 5 months ago on Google
Arrived at 15:10 on a Wednesday and our waiting list position was 5th. It did get very crowded very quickly, especially around 4PM. Owners decided to open a bit earlier (4:30PM is regular opening time, but apparently frequently they open earlier). I think it’s good idea to arrive maybe around 15:30~ or slightly earlier and get in with first “batch” of guests. Mama-oho noodles were great, although maybe I fell victim to my own elevated expectations? Fried pork dumplings were also very good. Would I come back? Probably no. Would I recommend to try this? For sure yes.

  • 3/5 Shwe Moe T. 5 months ago on Google
In my opinion, the best dish is “raw salmon spicy salad”. Although the shop is famous for its Noodle recipe, the taste is quite ordinary. You need to wait for at least one hour whenever you go to that shop. After very long queue, the only dish that makes me satisfied is “raw salmon spicy salad” as I mentioned above. The fact that I am disappointed is that the staffs are not quite welcome. Their faces look like angry and arrogant a bit for me. I don’t like their aura at all.

👍👍 Honestly much better than maidreamin Akihabara 本店. Other than the super long food wait time, food was good. Staff were nice and kept coming up to talk to us. Very fun vibes with the mini concerts. Very cute everything. But of course very expensive.

👍 The food overall was very tasty. It’s my first try for raw marinated crab and I love it! The service wasn’t what I expected, could be the reason that I don’t speak Thai. The waitress couldn’t understand what i meant and not paying full attention to me.
