In
addition
to
coming
here
to
visit
Buddha's
relics,
the
temple
also
has
a
sacred
story
According
to
the
local
people,
Wat
Yannawa
also
has
a
very
sacred
legend.
Looking
to
the
opposite
side
of
the
Thai
boat
temple,
visitors
can
see
an
abandoned
building.
The
story
goes
that
in
1955,
an
Arab
merchant
came
to
invest
and
wanted
to
build
that
land
into
a
40-story
hotel.
The
abbot
at
the
temple
advised
him
to
cancel
this
project
because
if
built,
the
temple
will
be
hidden
from
the
sun,
the
temple
has
a
very
strong
flow
of
energy,
so
there
may
be
problems.
However,
the
merchant
still
ignored
what
the
old
abbot
said
and
resolved
to
carry
out
his
plan.
When
the
newly
built
building
was
higher
than
the
top
of
the
temple's
tower,
all
of
a
sudden,
misfortune
struck
the
merchant's
family
and
he
also
died
in
an
accident.
His
family
was
extremely
scared
and
wanted
to
sell
this
land,
but
so
far
no
one
has
dared
to
buy
it.
This
true
story
makes
the
Thai
boat
temple
even
more
sacred
and
attracts
more
attention
from
tourists
coming
here.
