(Translated by Google) A temple with a model boat in the middle of the temple The strange beauty of Bangkok. Jid, Charoen Krung Road, very good location It is very convenient to go and have a train. There are two rows of buses by boat. There is moderately parking. But when there is a job, the car park is not enough to park Within the temple there is a Buddha element. From many countries to worship Worship and wish each other very faithful. Well organized, clean, peaceful It is another place to come and check-in. (Translated by Google) Wat Yannawa, the oldest temple on Charoen Krung Road A temple on the Chao Phraya River There is a pier behind the temple is a sanctuary for feeding fish. Or release fish in the Chao Phraya River Getting there, you can go down to BTS Saphan Taksin and walk to the temple. Inside the temple, there is a chedi on a junk boat built since the reign of King Rama III and a sermon hall where the Buddha's relics are enshrined. In addition, there is a model of the pagoda of the year that the zodiac is born each year. Inside the temple is also home to the Sunday Buddhist Study Center. Beautiful pagoda but unfortunately being commercialised by tourism. A bit too crowded with guided tourist groups. They have many beautiful buddha and monk statues inside, where you can pray and pay respect. However while standing there, we realised the flowers and incense people buy from the stalls outside to offer the buddhas eventually got taken back to the stalls from the altars so the sellers can resell them. So basically the offers you buy from them has probably already offered to the altar before. So money influenced, people put money on the statues of buddhas. It’s always nice to pray with your heart and faith and not the money (seriously money can’t buy you blessings, that’s not how Buddhism works 😅) A nice place to visit in general

In addition to coming here to visit Buddha's relics, the temple also has a sacred story According to the local people, Wat Yannawa also has a very sacred legend. Looking to the opposite side of the Thai boat temple, visitors can see an abandoned building. The story goes that in 1955, an Arab merchant came to invest and wanted to build that land into a 40-story hotel. The abbot at the temple advised him to cancel this project because if built, the temple will be hidden from the sun, the temple has a very strong flow of energy, so there may be problems. However, the merchant still ignored what the old abbot said and resolved to carry out his plan. When the newly built building was higher than the top of the temple's tower, all of a sudden, misfortune struck the merchant's family and he also died in an accident. His family was extremely scared and wanted to sell this land, but so far no one has dared to buy it. This true story makes the Thai boat temple even more sacred and attracts more attention from tourists coming here.

Always a great pagoda to visit in Bangkok. This is a temple that keeps many Buddha relics, as well as has unique and very own architecture. We feel at peace when we come here, enjoy, and pray for peace.

Built in the shape of a 19th-century sailing boat, the Thai boat temple called Wat Yannawa has become one of the most attractive places to visit. Legend has it that the boat temple in Bangkok has many unsolved mysteries and is very sacred, so the number of tourists coming here is increasing over time. Wat Yannawa Boat Temple has a unique architecture First of all, the name boat pagoda evokes curiosity and originality for listeners. This temple is built in the shape of a boat and the pagoda is located on top. The harmonious combination of Chinese boat-shaped architecture with the soaring roofs of Thai architecture has created a wonderful work. The model of the ship in front of the temple is used to record the maritime relations of Thailand with other neighboring countries.

Just 3 minutes walk from BTS Saphan Tahksin station, you can reach this temple. This has a name in Chinese character mentions ‘Dragon Boat temple’, 龍船寺, you can find the plate on the front gate. And the name represents that you will find a big boat in the centre of the land. It has Chedi, pagoda, inside of the boat and behind, you will see the ordination hall.

This is my favourite temple in Bangkok. It's actually a collection of buildings in the one large complex. You are free to roam around at all times except after closing time. If you go up the lift onto the 3rd floor of the largest building, you can attend chanting sessions with the monks every evening at 7:30 PM. On the same floor you can watch the live transmission of World Buddhist TV which is headquartered here. On one of my days there I was invited into an ordination ceremony of a young novice in the main Vihara and was allowed to photograph the entire proceedings. His poor parents were in tears as their son was about to leave home for good and enter the monastic life. There is no doubt though, that the main visual attraction is the large building in the shape of a boat; that's why it's called The Boat Temple in the Thai language. Very relaxing place but make sure to remove your shoes before you enter any of the buildings. Super experience.

Busy with Loy Krathong celebrations .. and partly under construction. (Some renovations appear to be in progress). Also a temple with a boat constructed in what appears to be the near central courtyard. A few minutes walk from Saphan Taksin BTS

The unusual feature of this Temple is the boat like structure which houses a shrine and two small Pagodas. It is also a good place to get an elevated view of the whole Temple site. There is some construction/renovation of one Temple building which is fenced off and the building closest to the river. After visiting the Temple walk down to the river for some good views from the waterfront pavilion. There are hundreds of large fish churning the waters there.

This place named Wat Yannawa pagoda. As i know, the King Rama IX became a monk here. I do not like the action that give money into the statue of Buddha. Many tourisms visit here. Beside the temple there is a kiosk where sell the coconut with 30baht. You should ask him and have a deal if the price higher. In conclusion, this is the good place to visit.

This temple is definitely different from any other temple I've visited. It contains statues representing a variety of different religions. The boat shaped temple was unique. If you aren't dressed modestly enough, they provide sarongs to use for free. Feeding the fish at the river was my favorite activity. There are machines where you can get fish food for as little as 10 Baht.

The temple is in the renovation so the tourists only able to visit the boat image building and the small part of the temple. They also sell expensive souvenirs for tourists saying it’s the real gold and relics of the monks. I don’t know if it’s true but the price could be 1300$ for a neck charm

a Buddhist sanctuary to visit. When entering the gate you can buy candles and flowers to the Buddha for 20 baht. then the abbot blesses and throws water on your head. There are also relics of monks and monks who have attained enlightenment, which are made here as pendants of relics for sale.

The ancient sacred temple, where you can visit the relics of the monks in the royal temple of Thailand. There is a spiritual story here. In the past, there was who building a 49 floors next to the temple. When it reached the 18th floor, the reflection of the building in the sunlight shone on the temple. And The position of the 10th king's holy monk warned that the Building had affected the feng shui of the temple. Asked to continue construction but the owners did not listen. After the construction was almost finished, lightning struck the building's electrical system, the owner managed to continue, but failed and committed suicide. The government sent a construction team to demolish the house as well. failed because the machines did not work. Until now the house is still abandoned in the center of bankok

It's nice to visit Buddhist temples which have their personal traits. Wat Yannawa is a such temple, one of It's buildings has been constructed from an old ship. Unluckily the story of the construction work of the temple was told only in Thai - or I didn't find an English story... But as a matter of fact it is not so much the ship-temple but the multitude of decorations which makes Wat Yannawa so interesting.

A beautiful temple in the city filled in relics, various sacred objects and deities from different believes from different parts of Thailand and neighboring countries. Famous buddha image attracts so many tourists so if you are planning a visit. It is recommended that you should plan your trip well as many of the time the parking is not easily available.

Wat Yannawa might be the best way to view some of Bangkok's many eras in one location. The temple is a relic of the Ayuthaya Period (1350 to 1767). Several period-specific additions make it a portal into those respective eras. The site was originally named Wat Khok Khwai (in ADNAIN8; "temple of the buffalo stable"). Years after its Buffalo tenure, it became apparent to King Rama III (31 March 1788 – 2 April 1851) that parts of the city's history were being lost (yes development was booming even in the late 1700's). Thus, he ordered the construction of a stupa (or chedi) housed in the likeness of a Chinese sailing ship (referred to as a "junk"). The idea was that temple-goers could view this unique and antiquated form of aquatic transport whilst making merit offerings and so forth. Skipping ahead two centuries (and unprecedented development in Bangkok), the 1997 Asian Financial crisis suddenly put a halt to the construction of many high-rise buildings in Bangkok. The most infamous being the Sathorn Unique Tower, located right next door to Wat Yannawa. At 49 floors high, the unfinished Sathorn Unique reminds us of the fragility of our position. Appearing like a giant monolith of decay; a temple in and of itself for urban explorers and danger seekers. Bangkok lore has it that a Swedish man took his own life there in 2014. Layers of history, make Wat Yannawa a worthy visit for history buffs, urban explorers and local temple goers. It also offers us lessons in the successes and shortcomings of human ambition. Very Buddhist and very Bangkok. Visiting Wat Yannawa begs a question, "how many more buildings will lie derelict after the financial crisis of the dark 2020's?"
