What a great idea to experience all of the wonders of a classical tour by cycling through Chinatown's frenetic market environment, through narrow alleyways and small side streets. Then allow classic longtail boats transport you further into rural Bangkok to discover why this city is often designated the "Venice of the East". The cruise introduces you to the charming canal lifestyle of the Thai, much as it existed in bygone eras. All tours use Co van Kessel's extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.

The 5-hr was extremely fun! I cannot recommend it enough. Had such an amazing time! The great weather that day did add to the overall experience. But I’d do the tour again in a heartbeat. The city night lights tour was fun as well. But I gotta say, this tour requires excellent biking-skills/ instinct because at night the city becomes even more busy. I liked it a lot, but unless you're used to bicycling everyday in busy areas like most Dutch people then I would rather recommend the 5-hr day tour.

Miki and Kim were our tour guides. Both were super! We had a 5-hours tour combining a bike ride with a boat trip. It was an awesome experience! Explored and enjoyed hidden areas having a more authentic taste of Bangkok. Thank you!

Such a great way to see Bangkok! Loved the five hour tour of Bangkok by bike and boat. Saw so many things I never would have come across any other way, especially the leafy and green canals in the old capital. The boat ride was relaxing and the e pace was very relaxed. Suitable for all levels (and lack of breaks 😂). tour guides were knowledgeable and fun and everyone on the tour was lovely too.

This place is hyped for a reason! We loved our tour, could truly see a different side to Bangkok. Small streets, flower market, temples… just a truly wonderful begging of the day. Our guides: Bob and Emma were knowledgeable and lovely. We are very happy and grateful!☺️ A must do in Bangkok.

5th time at Co van Kessel Bangkok. This time the 9 hour tour. Heavy rain did not stop us or the friendliness of the guides. Rain coats were provided. Another great experience.

We loved our 4 hour Tuk-Tuk tour with our guide Audrey! She was very knowledgeble about the area and the specific sites (like temples) we visited. Overall we liked the diversity of the tour, with leisurely walks through the intimate parts of old China Town alternating with rides in the Tuktuk through the busy market places, and stopping for food in local shops. We also liked that this was a private tour, with the possibility of keeping a flexible schedule. We can recommend this tour for eveyone who wants to explore Bangkok of the beaten path, including people like us who are interested in adventure and photography.

Great way to see the city and the county area. We did the morning tour, starting early in the morning was great, by the time it got hot we where in the county area. Part of the trip is a boat tour. 5 hours went like nothing! The tour guides where just great. If have not much experience cycling I would not recommend this tour as you will be going through busy alleys and narrow cycling streets. But if you are confident riding bikes, sure go for it.

We have been coming to Thailand for 12 years so we wanted a new experience while in Bangkok... Wow was it the perfect tour and day out! We did the 8am cycle tour with Chai and Cathy and they were simply amazing. We saw so many incredible sights and streets we would never have seen without the tour. It was easy, fun and educational. A feast for all the senses. The tour company was very professional and they were so generous and considerate. It was my birthday, and they surprised me at the end with a cake and flowers! Best birthday ever, I would give them 6 stars if I could! Thank you Co Van Kessel for such a wonderful day. We can't wait to come back!

Great way to explore the area. Really enjoyed the tour with a fantastic guide. Not even some minor flooding could stop us

What a fun and unique way to explore Bangkok! Our guides Fluk and Ooh kept us safe and well fed and hydrated with local snacks and lunch and our choice of soft drinks all included in the cost of the tour. I would recommend being comfortable riding a bicycle as most of the route is very narrow and tall people definitely wear a helmet to protect from low store front awnings.

Best way to see Bangkok! We had Cookie and New York as our guides, they were wonderful and made it a special day. We explored small city lanes, local markets, an intricate network of canals, temples (without the crowds) and saw a more rural side of Bangkok. Will definitely be recommending this to any friends or family travelling to Bangkok. Thanks Cookie and New York 😊

Such a great tour! We were in Bangkok for a week and it was a highlight for sure! We were able to see Bangkok (the real Bangkok, meaning not just the tourist side). We did the 3 hour tour at 8 am and it was the perfect time prior to it getting to to hot. Pim was our instructor and she was so enthusiastic and we had so many lovely treats along the way, tons of stops for water and photos too.

Wow just wow, this is a MUST do ! If you are considering doing this tour, just book it you won’t regret it. This was an absolute highlight of my stay in Bangkok! My only regret is that I wish I did it at the beginning of my stay not the end. The tour guides ( We had Sandy and Benny, they were the BEST!) were so lovely and patient. Not only do you get to see the real Bangkok, they give you some awesome tips for your trip.

What a great day today! We took the 5 hour trip including boat tour and meals and we loved every second of it. Really sweet tour guides and we felt very Dutch on our bikes (no Thai rides a bike in Bangkok). We cycled through markets, palm fields, residential areas and sometimes through peoples homes 🤣 on really small paths. A real joy. We took the bikes on the boats to see also quieter places and a mosk. Recommended!!

We had the five hours bike/boat tour and was really wonderful. I have been in Bangkok for four times now but never seen it like this. We saw the real Bangkok and it's people. Pam and Emma are great guides. They were very careful and fun to be with.

Such an amazing morning, tour guides were so lovely and friendly. I'm not good at riding a bike so stayed at the back and the tour assistant made sure I didn't get lost when l fell behind. Opportunities to take some photos but would have been good to stop at the flower market for ten minutes and not just ride through it. Would have loved to have bought some flowers and so did another lady. Also would have been nice to stop for a minute to take photos of some temper or the river we rode over. But other than that a great tour and had a blast!! Thank you!

By far the best way to explore Bangkok, the unknown part that is. Co van Kessel gives you a tour that you will never forget. I would have never even known the existence of so many beautiful sites in Thailands capitol, if it wasn’t for the bike tour I took. Even the rain couldn’t make it less special.

Amazing (bicycle) tours through Bangkok! Over the years I’ve done 4 different tours with them and they never disappoint. Most recently I did the 5 hour bike and boat trip and I loved seeing the different faces of Bangkok. The tours are well organized, fun, and very professional. Loved the drinks, snacks, fruit, refreshing towels, and food during the stops. Highly recommend!

Co van Kessel promise to take you off the beaten path, and they definitely do. We did the 3-hour tour on a busy day when we were split off into one of several groups of about ten. The three hour tour is a brisk ride through nearby neighbourhoods with a stop at a Buddhist temple, snack shops, and a market. A main virtue of the tour is it takes you through small alleys and side streets, and gives you a view of Bangkok you're unlikely to get without working at it. As a result, it can be a challenging ride. If you're not very comfortable on a bicycle, you may find some of the ride difficult due to narrow, busy streets. It's worth it, though, a fun way to get a good sense of the city.

I did the 3h night ride and had a wonderful tour. Best way to explore the city in very short time and get to know other areas beside the Traveller area. It was a real adventure as we drove some very small alleys but this made it authentic. The both guides really took care of us so never felt unsafe. We stopped and tried some local food which I really loved. Highly recommended and one of my highlights during my stay in Bangkok!!

The best way to see aspects of Bangkok you would otherwise miss out on! We did the bike and boat combo. Fan-tas-tic experience! Also super fun and professional service of the whole team, from booking to guiding. Can’t even just ‘recommend’ the whole experience; I believe it’s a must-do.

A great way to see parts of Bangkok that you wouldn't otherwise know about. The bikes were sound. The guides were really friendly and knowledgeable. Mostly very quiet routes. The boat rides were a lovely interlude between rides. Recommended.

This tour was nothing less than AMAZING! We got to see streets and places in Bangkok that we would have probably never seen, went to flower & fruit markets, temple hidden in small streets and had the opportunity to see how really people live there. Would highly recommend. Don't leave Bangkok without doing their bike tour.

  • 5/5 Sean M. 2 years ago on Google
The tour was great. The guide was really informative in a natural way, it didn't feel like he had rehearsed speeches about each place, but responded to questions and interested that I had. Great way to get round the back streets of the city with good little pit stops at interesting places.

  • 5/5 Simon W. 3 years ago on Google
The staff were very friendly and knowledge. A good mix of walking and cycling.

Nice team running the tours and they provide everything you need. Good bikes, drinks, snacks, etc. The route was interesting, taking us through Chinatown and then across the river to the Old Town. You get to cycle down some pretty narrow streets (but it always feels safe)! I'd suggest the morning tour unless you're good at dealing with heat. It also seems like it is less busy than the afternoon tour might be (but check in advance).

We had the classic tour, 3 hours. Audrey and Bob were our guides and we had an amazing experience through the real Bangkok, the small streets, temples and markets. They were very careful with our safety along the big roads, always coming before us to stop cars to let us cross. I can only highly recommend!!

It was a very good morning tour around the backstreets and alleyways of Bangkok both sides of the river. Started at 08.00 and returned nearly 4 hours later, new bikes and no uphill pedalling, recommended.

I live in Bangkok but am still fairly new to it, so this was a great way to explore a different area. My partner and I did a 3-hour tour of Chinatown and Thonburi with our brilliant guide, Sandra. We appreciated not having to keep stopping and checking a map, and the fact water, ferry fares, etc were covered by the one-off cost, so we didn't have to faff around finding the right change – we didn't need to take any money with us. When we stopped at a temple, I realised I'd left the cover for my shoulders in my bag at the office, but Sandra was well prepared – she provided a shawl, and a poncho for the rain. Booking the trip was easy, as was finding the office. Sandra was great company, too. I'd strongly recommend this! Check out the website, too, which has loads of really helpful info.

Took a really cool bicycle tour around old city in Bangkok. It was fun, very authentic. Our guide was great, very friendly, polite, helpful, and spoke good English. Perfect activity for both tourists and Bangkok residents.

A great way to discover or rediscover Bangkok discovering hidden places! We took the 5h tour including cycling and boat, we really enjoyed it! Bike are confortable and the team is helpful and very nice! I highly recommend this trip to enjoy Bangkok

Nice bike tour through the city of Bangkok. Easy to do with kids, because you will ride through small streets, also in China town. Very friendly staff.

We had a lovely tour with lovely and professional guides Prem and New York. We had fun stops at a fish market and turtle pond. The boat ride and the (early) lunch made it much more fun.

An absolute must-do experience! This was my second time in Bangkok and the second time doing a tour at this company (first time was 5 years ago, the bike + boat tour). We booked a night tour of 3 hours. At the start of our tour, there was heavy rain but rain ponchos were included, so this was not really a problem. Within 15 minutes the rain already stopped. Our tour guide Sandra was very nice, patient and genuinely enthusiastic. She took us around the little streets of Bangkok and showed us a different side of the city. Drinks were also provided and we even got to try some nice snacks. I went together with someone, but I can imagine that these tours are a nice way to meet other more adventurous travellers, especially if you're Dutch! :)

We had - once again - a great Bike tour in Bangkok. Last time we did the 5-hours tour, this time we went for the 9-h tour. The challenge is not the cycling as such but rather the agility. Both the route and the means of transport are really varied. You go to many places that you would never go to otherwise. The lunch was a little less good, compared to the one on the 5-hour tour. But we had definitely a great day and the guides are simply top!!!

We took part in the Bangkok 3-hour bike tour. Overall, a really worthwhile and fun way to spend an afternoon. Cycling through the little back streets of Chinatown and Bangkrak is as exhilarating and hap-hazard as it sounds! However, too many stops and some of the stops lasted too long. In my view more cycling and less stops/chat would have been preferable. It was very interesting to try some of the local food/fruit in the market. We'd definitely do it again, with hopefully more time on the bike.

  • 5/5 Robert S. 1 year ago on Google
The guide spoke very good English and there were two of them for safety. The tour took us through markets, Buddhist temple, people's back yards and out into the close countryside so very interesting. We crossed the river by ferry and Pat of the tour was by boat. I did the 7am so stopped for a very good early lunch

I have taken my family on two of the Co van Kessel Bangkok tours (3-hour bicycle tour and 2-hour boat canal tour) and we absolutely recommend them for anyone who plans to visit Bangkok. We did both tours with our three-year-old daughter, so I can say with confidence that they are kid-friendly tours. I will continue to support this company for three main reasons: 1) The tours are a creative, budget-friendly, and fun way to see the city, 2) the guides are very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful, and 3) the company makes a genuine effort to support the local economy (you will stop at multiple local vendors throughout the tours). Wonderful experience...we will be back!

Amazing bike tour with such wonderful staff (shout out to Bob and Kim!). Highly recommended if you want to tour some of the backstreets and food markets of Bangkok and see some locals getting by their lives away from the traffic and noise of other parts of the city.

👍 Interesting concept of a night bus tour. The bus goes around key tourist attractions and also some famous food places & they pre-order food to be served on board.
