Room was dirty and smelled horrible ciggarette smell! The room looks very old fashioned like 1970s. The room stunk very bad that we had windows that do not open. I had to call room service to get rid of the smell. The furniture takes up so much space that a lot of it is unnecessary. In addition, the bathtub is a bit weird and very high! Overall , the hotel may look nice on the outside but inside is horrible . The breakfast did not taste good at all. There are cereal, Indian food, eggs, and croissants. Please be aware that roaches floating around. It's not really a clean place .

The rooms were not what I saw in the pics. A bit outdated. The first room we had was facing the car park, had a faulty switch we notified reception this was not what we had booked and they kindly moved us to another room. Second room was facing the street with all the club and bar noises but it was much better anyway. We stayed for 3 days and moved to next door Citadines for the remaining days as we had wanted something with a kitchenette or such a setup. I know the Grand President has those rooms as well but they were pricey and the price not justifiable. So we spent the next 4 days next door and it was much better than the Grand President. Staff was very helpful indeed.

The hotel, location and staff is good ..but my room had definitely seen better days...the air smelt musty and stale ...perhaps someone had smoked in there earlier.....and there was too much furniture ..not much space to move around.and I felt somewhat hemmed in..There was no view to speak of...just other hotel rooms overlooking mine directly upfront ...So don't believe the room photo you are are seeing on the booking page and the furniture was worn out ...definitely needs a good polish up if not replacement. Staff are pleasant and very professional..I had a good stay overall...but in Bangkok you are spoilt for choice ... for the price you have other plentiful options...so stay elsewhere ...

Hotel's location n rooms are awesome. Natural lighting, bigger rooms, ample facilities. But downside is that hotel has aged quite a bit and it shows everywhere. Door handles, bathroom fittings, cockroaches etc.

After a check in debacle the staff were uniformly very good, to be honest the problem may well have been the fault of the booking agency, but I doubt it. Housekeeping was to a high standard. The king size bed was super comfortable, the rooms are heavy with excessive dark timber with many of the cupboards unusable and just taking up space. Pool was nice but tiled surrounds very slippery and damaged coping had lots of sharp edges. I wouldn't rule it out, but at the price there's a lot of competition.

it was so arrogant from the receptionist who said 800 bhat for late check out till 6 pm. Another full day fare at 1500 bhat. We went for taking up a full day fare and they absurdly charged 3000 bhat . We checked online it showed us 1000 bhat and we requested them to give us on online booking but they denied claiming it will take another 2-3 hours for cleaning. What kind of service is this and it’s very irresponsible of them to provide such an experience to tourist if at all. My flight was scheduled to late night which is why we were stuck and the least we expected was their cooperation. Please do not be fooled by them and their quoted price.

This was my 4 th stay at The Grand President. It's fabulous hotel. In the heart of Sukhumvit and on Soi 11 , that has so much to choose from. Will be back for a 5 th Time. Pammy the Guest Service manageress is most capable and efficient as well as a lovely lady. If you need something sorted at the hotel Pammy can do it for you

I booked the hotel online as they had shown what looked to be like a very nice hotel room, after checking in I found my room to be nothing like the pictures. The room was so old looking and worn out. The tv had no reception and the bed was hard as a rock The price for $70 a night is a complete rip off. They charge more then some of the nearby hotels that are recently built I’d avoid if possible

I stayed here for a little over 3 weeks. The location is great, 5 minutes from BTS Nana and rooms are clean, well maintained, and are relatively quiet. The service is also excellent and very responsive. There is a washer/dryer for 100 baht, and complementary water. They also fixed my room's internet issues when I asked. Overall I think it is excellent for the price. I would rate higher if the AC didn't sometimes take in bad smells.

The hotel has a great location, everything you need for a stay in Bangkok is nearby. Excellent connection to all parts of the city. The rooms are spacious. Cleanliness at a high level. The staff at the reception are professional, helpful and always ready to help, friendly. I spent two months in this hotel and I have no complaints. A bit dated but that’s whet you’d expect. Great for the price and location. Clean rooms are spacious and well kept. Staff are great and very friendly. Pool and gym are nice. Overall I recommend this hotel.

Location is great, Old 32"TV's and slow Internet will not Save the Day in 2023 18 years ago the first time I arrived I stayed at this property. Location could not be better, staff is always friendly. Rooms are larger than most. I have stayed here dozens of times. This will be my last visit. If you want to stay in the rooms, be assured that the Internet Service in this property is the worst I have ever experienced. 2023 and the old small TV's have very poor picture quality and possibly 3 English channels. I was traveling with my wife and 10 year old and the Internet Service would not go faster than 3 MBPS. So we felt like prisioners in our 4,000THB family suite as staff was unable to correct the issue. So if you like the location and do not use your computer or firestick to stream YouTube you have been warned that this property will fail you. I saw in prior reviews that this is a problem. Why the owner choose to short change his paying guest with poor Internet is a mystery to me.

A conveniently located hotel slam bang in the centre of Sukhumvit Soi 11. The staff are friendly and highly helpful. Price is extremely competitive taking into account the condition of the rooms are clean and well kitted. Unlike the Ambassador Hotel nearby the interior condition and smell of rooms are by far better at the gardens President Hotel. One downside was the size of the swimming pool was rather small compared to the proportional size of the hotel. But nevertheless, a well presented hotel over all. Highly recommended for location, price, and cleanliness.

20 years back we have lived in Grand President for 3 years. Came back to recollect forgotten memories. Very sweet, kind and polite staff, love the closeness to everything. Room was beautiful and big and bed very comfortable. Bathroom clean which is very important for me. Will hopefully come back with kids n stay here again for sure.

In the heart of Nana, so do expect noise and funny business around the area. Dont recommend for families to stay in Rooms wete dated and toilets were very old. Still uses bathtubs as shower area which is not very accessible for elderly. Lifts in the hotel were old as well. Hotel breakfast was fully halal and a good spread of western to asian cuisine. Rice with dishes were even available! Which is a plus point! Overall, will not visit again but good price for location and if you’re planning to just crash for a night

The place is right in the middle of a tourist area, absolutely plastered with men from everywhere looking for sex. Not quite red light district, but sex workers are everywhere you turn, and men of all ages, sizes, and nationalities can be seen haggling for their services. Thought this was a good deal. It's a much older place, the air smells a bit musty in the rooms. Stayed 4 nights. The safe didn't work. Called the staff. Couldn't fix it and even brought in a new safe. After an hour they said they'd have to come back and i had to be in the room while they did it. So i gave up. I tip the housekeeper who does the rooms up every day, and yet they didn't take the trash out. I had to ask the front desk to do it. The bathtub has this weird design that water flows around the side and back of the tub, then onto the floor. So every time you take a shower half the bathroom floor is wet. Tiny cockroaches found every day since, but nonetheless... roaches. I'm not entirely happy with this place, but i do have to say that it works. I asked for a non-smoking room, and they put me on a non-smoking floor, but I've come back to the room, and it smelled like cigarettes. I've been in the room at night, and the smell of cigarettes wafts in now and then as if someone was smoking periodically. I've talked to the staff, but all they could do is spray the place down with some kind of scent, which i said no to. It's pointless to simply hide the smell. They offered to move me but on my last day and night. It's rather pointless to do so, considering we have to repack our bags and belongings. After all this i tried asking for a late checkout at 4pm and they wanted to charge me. And the latest they could give me was 1pm. By this time, i was super frustrated. I heaved a big sigh and covered my face and said OK. The girl at the front desk begrudgingly said ok but till 3. A while later, i think the senior front desk staff called me in my room to confirm i could checkout at 4. The senior lady was right from the start superb in the way she treated me and remembered from day 1. Oh and if you believe in the supernatural... DON'T come here. It was WEIRD every night. I'm not angry nor raging. It is what it is, but i can say for sure I'm not coming back here, nor will i recommend this place to anyone.

I often stay here whenever I am in Bangkok. Good location; good car-park for my girlfriend's car, etc. I recently stayed here and had a problem with the internet. When I informed the front desk, she sent an engineer who worked on the modem; afterward, it worked to my satisfaction. Thank you!

Located in the heart of the famous Sukumwit Area of Bangkok this has one of the best locations to stay. The rooms are spacious with a bathtub and large clean bathroom. View of the urban skyline was good too. They also had a big fridge in the room. Stayed in the non smoking room not sure if they have smoking rooms. The room service was good and the room was cleaned and maintained well. Overall the decor of the room seems to be a little back dated however this don't effect our stay here. There is a swimming pool and laundromat service on the 5th floor. Had a free buffet breakfast which left me a little disappointed with the quantity and number of item was a much larger spread and better quality 5 years back. They have there own Indian themed restaurant where you can order food or dine in. Overall a good experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Affordable price with good rooms @ superb location in bkk. The street is full of night life .. The hotel has an Indian restaurant named Bawarchi which plays Bollywood live songs and the food is good too. Worth the price If u looking to stay near entertainment area then u cn choose it. Address Sukhumvit soi 11

Pros : Spacious, Ideal for Family with kids, Reasonable Pricing, Great Party Location with bars and restaurants opening till 3-4am, has a medical pharmacy and starbucks right below the hotel, 5mins walk to Nana BTS Station Cons : Does not change slippers daily. Made customers wear the same dirty old slippers for nights on end, provided only 2 small miserable tubes of shampoo and bath lotion for 2 persons to bath 2 rounds, felt like a military ration, really bad logistics. Hardware facilities & furnitures inside the room are old, yellowish, rusty, mouldy. The corridor stinks of lingering mutton stench whenever neighbouring rooms ordered food delivery to their rooms. This proved very bad air ventilation along the corridors. Overall, i would NOT choose this hotel again. If given a choice to rebook with prior knowledge, i would opt for the Newly Built AIRA Hotel next to it.

The hotel staffs are friendly and check-in was fast. Managed to get a room before the stated check-in time. The room is big, clean and smells fresh. I would like the thank the technician that came to my room and resolved the issue within minutes.

Rooms and service are okay, but aren't worthy. You will find similar quality hotels if you search properly within a cheaper budget.

Crowded bar and restaurant in street nearby.. Close to NaNa BRT station. Rooms are quite old and outdated. Buffet style Breakfast with choices. 40minutes train ride from airport. Would stay again due to convenience to go here and there in BKK.

The hotel is located at Sukhumvit. Most Bangladeshi and Indian tourists check in there. The service was worth the price. The breakfast they serve has a lot of varieties. Thai,Indian and Continental. However, they will ask you to deposit 2000 Baht in advance for any loss or damage. No need to provide. We did not deposit any money as we had fully paid the room fare in advance. The receptionist lady was a bit rude. Overall their service was satisfactory.

There is a restaurant named Indian Food of this hotel. They are actually kind of fraud in case if you order bangali food. I ordered two plates of rice, two eggs, one potato smashed, dal vuna and two bottles water. And the bill was 1000 THAI CURRENCY! we were dumbed ! Please be aware !

  • 1/5 Vedika A. 1 year ago on Google
We had our flight delayed for another 6-8 hours. The receptionist was not at all cooperative. They first stated 800 bhat for half day and 1500 Bhat for a full fare. When we went for 1500 fee then denied claiming that the price for a day is 3000 Bhat. This is ridiculous and very disappointing. Please do not get blackmailed by those people on the reception and do not book or listen at what they say because they keep increasing their quotation.

Check in was supposed to be at 2pm but even till 3:30pm I was not provided the room. They lept saying rooms not ready and giving excuses. I dont understand why rooms cannot be made ready when its a usual practice of hotels to have check out by 12pm. Very bad check in experience!

Its a old hotel .. I dont think its a 4 star hotel in bangkok.. Interiors was too old and there will pungent smell coming while entering into room.. Tv unit and locker were tooo old.. While booking everything looks like a heaven .. But in reality its quite opposite.

Price is great, but the rooms have needed an update for the last 5 years. Some work going on at the hotel during the day, good breakfast buffet. Nice swimming pools, but they need a little attention. I may complain but I have stayed with this group of hotels about 5 times. Right in the centre of all the action.

Amazing hotel. The location is too good. Building is old but management is trying to fix their best. Now they have a new club also. Got three swimming pools in good condition. Rooms are spacious with good infrastructure like microwave oven and digital lockers even for smaller rooms. Over all it's a buffet with everything breakfast spacious rooms facilities location. I highly recommend this property to all. All the best.

Very poor rooms. Springs were sticking in your gut when you slept. Beds must be 20 years old. Room decor is terrible. Location of TV...poor. not sure why this place has the reviews it has. Reception staff were very nice and the only bright spot of the experience.

  • 5/5 Rupinder S. 4 years ago on Google
Visited some family staying at this hotel. Very convenient location in Bangkok as nearby are all great restaurants and also lot or party places nearby. Rooms are rather old but the ones I saw are still well maintained and quite spacious suites. Given the location seems a good option for stays in this location if prices not too high vs newer hotels nearby. Have good parking space, breakfast offering etc.
