Chinatown is a place to be avoided. We stayed here for a night. Ignore the fancy Tik-tok videos. The rooms weren’t filthy but also weren’t the level of cleanliness that thailand usual adheres too. There was black mould growing in the bathroom and thick dust on the sides. The bed was pretty comfory and I would have had a good nights sleep if the walls weren’t made of paper. I heard every single person come home and every word my neighbours said (lucky that’s all I heard!). We had a joining room, so if you choose to ignore this review, at least try and avoid one of those. The staff were generally rude, with the exception of the bell boy who greated me with a big smile when I got out of the lift. The breakfast staff couldn’t be bothered to refill the coffee machine with water and told me it was broken, to which I pointed out that the display just said it needed water. They huffed and refilled it with water. To boot, the coffee was awful, even by Thai standards. Outside the hotel was like hell on earth, homeless people, a stink of urine throughout streets and scammers tried to scam us with the classic government tuk tuk scam. The building was old and dated, filled with rude people. I know they will comment how sorry they are but they can’t be that sorry or they would change their ways. I’ve been in Thailand a month now, this was the most UN-Thai place I’ve stayed. It reminds me of a back street slum dog. All the good reviews are the 9th wonder of the world.

The rooms are old and have Chinese maze-like meander decorations that clearly collect a lot of dust. The windows in our room did not open, but there was no HVAC ventilation system, only a basic wall unit air conditioner, so the room had NO VENTILATION. This is unhealthy and possibly dangerous. The walls in the hotel are thin, and we were woken several times in the night by rowdy Chinese voices from the adjacent room ... and banging doors. There is an MRT station near the hotel, but you have to cross several busy roads to get to it. The hotel receptionists were friendly enough, but the door security guard tried to pressure us into getting into one of his friend's tuk tuks instead of offering us the walking advice we requested. The best thing I can say about this hotel is that there is a Starbucks literally next door.

We don't suggest this hotel. We booked one night for Test&Go including airport shuttle and PCR-Test at this hotel. Paid around 5,000baht per person but the service is really poor. - Nobody replies emails and accept the telephone. - The first day after did ATK of Test&Go. They don't inform the result. Let us wait until late of the day to check out. We called to lobby many times and nobody took our calls. So, we have to go to ask at lobby ourselves. - They don't explain anything about how to do on Day5. Do ATK self test then we don't know where to send the result. - The bed is good. AC is very loud. - We have to pay for food after reached. It's not included in package and you cannot choose much. There are only 2 kinds of rice box and they all are spicy. - ⭐ One star I give was only for the polite Bell Boys who helped me carry the baggages without asking.

We only stayed one night and so didn't get a full experience here. We missed out on welcome drinks as we were on the late side but that would have been a pleasent touch. The room was a dark blue colour in areas and lounge furniture which was not to my taste, all but interesting. Unfortunately an odour followed some areas around the room and hallway which didn't sit with me. It may have been fresh paint it was hard to tell. Location was pretty good and you can get a great view of the temple and enjoy a rooftop pool.

This trip was our first time in Thailand. Being Asian, I thought staying around Chinatown was ideal for food places, so I booked this hotel for seven days; anyway, the pictures posted on the Agoda website for this hotel and what it is very different. The hotel building is only partially renovated, and the rest of the rooms are aged. Oh, the mattress from this hotel is very firm, with many springs and coils poking my body. If you are a side sleeper, you will be very uncomfortable. They need to replace them.

I did Test&Go few times in Thailand. This is the worst place. They don't inform you the result of the test. And if you want to call - they don't answer. Also, check in and check out is really slow. Staff is nice and hardworking. There are only few people working with huge amount of customers at a front desk. It seems the management of the hotel is saving money on anything they can

The quarter hotel is the same hotel as Prime hotel station. The lobby is on the 12th floor of the building. It's a very good hotel. Beautiful view. Excellent service staff. They will come to help carry things without our need to ask. Soft bed and complete room amenities. Bathroom accessories are very good. Big screen TV. I can't find any complaints in a nice hotel like this.⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stayed for 4 days, very convenient location… 5 min walking distance to MRT and China Town. 7/11 and Starbucks are nearby too Terrace of the restaurant has great view, can see the temple. Swimming pool is also nice and clean. The facility of the room is a bit old, but overall I’m okay with it. Our room got a shared door with next room… can actually hear their voice😅.

It's an old hotel that The Quarter purchased but didn't fix up much (yet?). The rooms are old and tired, all rooms have connecting doors so you will get to know your neighbor! Road noise can be bad too. Breakfast was crowded and options limited compared to other Quarter Hotels. Pool water cloudy too. If you're looking for The Quarter experience you may have gotten at their newer hotels don't expect it here!

I expected it to be a 30 minute journey from the airport but it was closer an hour because of the traffic. Use the Bolt app but understand that the driver will charge you 75 baht more to go on the highway. Looking around 400 baht. Because we arrived at 8am and we expected just to dump our bags and head out. We were offered early check in which was 300 baht. Room is outdated, marks on walls, paint coming off and dark but was fine and actually great to sleep in as so dark. Fridge could have been a little colder but two bottles of free water a day was a nice touch. Walls are very thin in the hotel and can basically hear next door conversations. Aircon is great, shower was too though they did not provide any shower gel only shampoo. Location is a 4 minute walk to Chinatown and a 5 minute walk to the train station. Right next to a Starbucks and 30 second walk to the nearest 7/11. The famous Khao San Road is about a 40 minute walk from the hotel. Pool is pretty small but very nice, 10 or so loungers and 2 cabanas. Sun goes from these areas by 3 but pool is still in the sun. Pool is heavy on chlorine but nice for a dip. Wide selection for breakfast including a eggs anyway chef. Salad, fruit, Thai food as well as many western options. French fries at breakfast, I couldn’t resist! Overall a not a bad stay, it did what was needed and for the right deal that I managed to secure, I would stay again.

Overall pretty nice place to stay. Was on the higher end of my budget, but you get a decent amount for the money. Pool was nice to swim in, nice outside area to look at city or smoke. Room had nice view. Close to public transit so don't need to deal with cab drivers.

Was not really a good stay. Many little things that are disturbing. The hotel is not well maintained, you can’t open the windows, the room seems a bit dirty. Nonetheless the staff was helpful and swimming pool cool

In terms of price and location, it was great, close to all the touristic locations, right next to Chinatown. Tthe subway is just 1 block away, giving you cheap, easy access to anywhere in Bangkok. It was our 1st time, and we took the train and the subway to and from the airport! The room was nice and functional, but in need of a good paint job. The touch-up paint was not the same shade as the rest. Overall, I would recommend.

Tourists that might want to book this hotel for the Travel and Go package, dont. They dont care at all. They did not answer my emails or the chat that they offerd. They hired others for the transfer and the test because of that they did not knew that we arrived and had no room ready. The man on the desk could barly understand english and said we have to wait 20 min. After one hour of asking multiple times they had a room witch was not the better room we booked. We had Water inclouded but they only had 2 little bottles. If we wanted more, we had to pay. When we checked out i had to remind him that we have to make a selftedt on the 5th day. They had no test there and they send on guy to the store to buy them. I gave up asking him how we can send the result and where we have to send it. I think if you wanna stay somewhere close to chinatown its okay but stay away if you have to do the test and go.

Have been staying here for several years during which it has had three names. Great location! Good air-conditioning. Great breakfast (be sure to choose a rate where it is included). Bed and room good. What they need to do is take a room off line every day and send in people with a bucket of paint and a good caulk gun and in some cases pull up the carpet and spruce the place up. Change the window dressing as well. It is getting a little long in the tooth on the fit and finish. It would not take that much baht to bring it back to ten years ago. It has good bones.

In the room we were had mould on the wall. Was not able to open the window because was another wall front of the window. As in our room has mould I had requests to change it. It’s was not possible. I got a Healthy issue though the mould. The most annoying thing are everytime when you want to go out you need to go the the lobby in 12 floor to change the the lift. Pls be careful before you booked the room in the hotel. He needed to stay in that mould room for one week.

The room was fine but anything else was not. Food was not that good and staff either. They'll try to steal money from you with the tour operator that they have in the lobby. Be very careful, when they offer you a trip nothing is included in the price but they don't say it. We booked the room via booking and the payment was supposed to be on the check out day but the staff called us at 8:30 am of the second day asking us to pay in that moment. Very disrespectful and rude.

Decent hotel. The towels, linens and floors were clean. The hallway needs to have the carpets cleaned and the room is a bit tired. The food for breakfast was excellent. It was a fabulous spread and very delicious! If you see a guy trying to get you to go on a tour by the name of Mr Billy, don't go with him. He put us on the slowest boat for the most money. It was 3 times as expensive as a day pass on the hop on hop off boat. Beware of him.

The hotel itself is nice and clean, the view from the room was cool. The staff at place was friendly. But – big problem was the communication. We had two questions before arrival which we sent them via email but they didn’t answer. Also the contact form on the hotel website isn’t working. First time we had to contact Agoda support which called to the hotel. Second time even Agoda wasn’t able to connect with them and the only way that appeared to be working was chat through the hotel Facebook page. On arrival the staff at the reception promised us they would call us when they get our covid test results so we kept waiting till the next day. But when it was already the moment of our check out we called them and asked. Of course they had the results :D So maybe we could have gone out the previous evening.

The only good side of this hotel is the kind reception staff and maybe nice breakfast with a view. The bad side - The rooms were dark with an ugly view of the car garage and had a bad smell of humidity inside. Bad sound isolation. Rooms are separated only by a locked door between them so you can hear everything in the room next to you. The janitor couldn’t change our Netflix from Thai to English so we had to translate everything to find the language settings and change it ourselves. The whole hotel design is a mess. The reception is on the 12th floor and you have to take 2 elevators to reach your room. An unnecessary labyrinth.

I enjoyed my stay here. It is very close to Chinatown and the Metro station. The room I was in didn't have a window, which was okay. It was a big room with 2 double beds. Housekeeping came everyday to change/turn down the bed, clean the floors, surfaces, and bathroom. They also changed towels daily and refilled the water and tea for me. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a problem with a plug and they gave me an extension cable. The gym is well equipped and the pool is lovely.

This hotel was chosen by rating and visually seeing sister properties under the Urban Hospitality Group in other areas of Bangkok. It turned out to be a horrible miss. Like a basketball team that is playing out the string and hoping for better in the Lottery and in the future, this property fell extremely hard into that category. The impending closure of Hua Lamphong Railway Station makes this miss even worse. Right off the bat, a patron had to navigate several busy intersections and cross over a canal to reach what looks like an office building. Bangkok is NOT pedestrian friendly. The patron then rides up to the 12th floor to check-in after clearing security at street level. The patron then takes another lift to his/her room. This was, and is, extremely awkward and dangerous with large bags. If even considering going to this place, particularly on the MRT, be absolutely sure to use EXIT 3, which will mean being on the same side of the street as the hotel. Walk straight about 3 blocks across the canal. The building is on the left. The hotel itself failed miserably in my desired areas including a basically non-functional gym, a swimming pool that was small and not usable, a locked security safe, a burnt out entry hall light and a non-functional shower with a busted soap/body wash dispenser that I only found out about as I was checking out! Additionally, for the umpteenth time, I was assigned an inside room, which, after awhile, gets wearing. The staff, particularly at night, engaged in what is called selective deafness and muteness and we're not helpful with an important railway matter I needed to address as it was imperative that I not miss the particular train I was supposed to take, or face Immigration related issues. I was lucky enough to get the answer directly through the railway's hotline but I should have not had to do the footwork. The only things that saved the hotel from a complete Grade of "F" were the breakfast spread, the proximity to my train despite nearly getting mowed down by traffic and the views of the nearby Golden Temple and the train station. Surely a one-off. Had this been a basketball shot, this miss into the Club Seats surely would have guaranteed a hefty dry cleaning bill in perpetuity for me for the patrons seated near where the ball landed. What a brick! - Grade: D-.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. I stayed here earlier in the year and loved it, so came back for a week. It overlooks the Bangkok Railway Station (not as busy as it was as it no longer handles long distance trains). Rooms facing it have great views, but rooms on the other side don't have windows, as there's another building in the way. Bed was quite soft and comfy, room was clean - the hotel gave me drinks for not changing my sheets and towels. Location is wonderful - in a working part of the city, with lots of merchants around, but also many coffee shops and food places, with a 7-11 on the corner, so I was not tempted by the minibar. The in-house restaurant was operating but I did not eat there. The big disappointment was the WiFi - necessary to plan my travels, stay in touch and for late night YouTubing. It simply stopped working after night three, and reports to the staff did not get it working again for the rest of my stay.

We went for a couple vacation and what a delight this resort is. They gave a room with panoramic view of the Bangkok hustle bustle road it was just out of the work. The Chef, staff, concierge every thing is wonderful. This was a memorable stay and we will keep coming back whenever we are in Bangkok. Thanks Quarter Hualamphong for exceptional customer service and one of a kind experience. Sorry Quarter Hualamphong for posting this late....

There are mols and stains in the walls, sheets and also in the shower room. You hear everything wherever people walk around the hallway. I would recommend paying more and staying in another hotel. Staff were kind tho. Its close to a train station, but far away from other metros.

The hotel is filled with mold and smells bad. I am extremely sensitive to mold and got quite sick from staying here. The location is perfect, but the hotel itself is just behind standards in Bangkok for a 4-star hotel.

Firstly, the front office team welcomes us with warmth regards and helpful to arrange our luggage to be sent to our individual room with care. Thanks to Can to check in us. And Yuth who is amazingly friendliness and resourceful. The housekeeping team is efficiently in cleaning up the room and neat. Lastly, the impressive restaurant experience. We have received at the entrance at the restaurant with the passionate staff, NUENG who provide 5 stars service and care. She helps the elderly and needy to serve them at the seat and bring the food on the table for them. And her team Ice is the impressive one who serve us with her daily love and care. She is amazing in service too. Thanks to this hotel who everyone plays their role so passionate and sincere. We will be back again. Please help to recognise this team and we appreciate their effort

This hotel is in a great spot, easy to get to by car or subway, and near historic places like the old Bangkok main terminal. It's a bit of a walk to the old town, but it's lively at night. The room was nice with a decent view. The welcome drink they offered was pretty strong, but overall, a good stay.

There are direct buses to The Grand Palace area. It's 1 km from laundromat and 1.5km from Chinatown. 2 mins walk to Metro Hualampong. My room interior was run down, air con noisy. Room daily turn out is excellent.

Nice business class at good price with breakfast. Make sure you get City View. I managed to book the other wrong side first this visit. Small window onto a wall. City view fab, big room, full wall window and upgrade was cheap enough at about £7 extra a night. Both rooms did have interconnecting doors though. I don't like this. Security and soundproofing have been issues in other hotels. I did have problems with the next rooms loud TV on one night but think someone else sorted as it went lower after the phone rang. Could hear it on until about 4am though which would have been less with a wall! Like any big hotel of this class in Bangkok, noise through night from other guests in corridors talking loudly and slamming doors. It's Asia, you accept the culture and visitor mix. Not the hotels fault.

Hotel is inside s building, and it has few floors so reception is on the floor 12 with tje bar and swimming pool. My window was very small and looked over a wall but it was ok for one night. Comfy bed and spacious room. Hotel is near train station and metro station (exit1).

  • 4/5 Jay J. 1 year ago on Google
We enjoyed this hotel especially for the price. Super convenient location if you want to be in Chinatown/Old City. Right by the MRT and lot's to eat and see close by. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. A lot of hotel beds in Thailand are hard as a rock so we were pleasantly surprised to have a good one here. The pool and gym are great. I'd say the only issue is the breakfast. It's a great spread and if you aren't a big food lover then it's probably going to be great, we just have high standards. That part is irrelevant though because the price was so cheap that it didn't even matter.

  • 1/5 Benn W. 1 year ago on Google
The location was good, the room was OK but the aircon was partly broken and too noisy to use when sleeping. If you can sleep that is as the walls are made from paper mache and toothpics. So have been listening to two people talking since 4.30am. However the cherry on top of the cake is the fact that dogs are allowed! This is actually insane. So if you want to stay awake in a dog hotel for the night enjoy the lovely barks and howling of our canine pals then book this one ASAP. The staff were very friendly though.

Strategically located in China town near the MRT station and some bus stops. The room is comfortable, nicely decorated and has really nice view (make sure to pick the window view). Breakfast food is good. Don't forget to check out the rooftop.

Basically it is a nice hotel and you can't say anything bad about it. Although it didn't feel personal or cozy. The rooms are OK and very clean - so nothing to complain about here. But it's just my subjective feeling that missed smth... But the cool thing is, that you're right at the heart of Chinatown, which is a very traditional part of the city and cool to experience.

This hotel has changed since I was there 5yrs ago. The new management has utilised the swimming pool (it is child friendly). The staff were very helpful, they do have a good buffet breakfast. The location of the hotel is is right next to n MRT Station (train service). I'd recommend visiting Chinatown after 6pm.

A very well located hotel to explore Bangkok, only a 3 min walk away from the MRT. Many places are also walkable distance like China town and shopping centres. Rooms were very spacious, we had the family room which consisted of a very large living room area, 2 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The view of the city is also very nice. Although, some parts of the room looked a bit worn out and old and could do with some renovation, one of the air cons in the room did not work as well as the others which was a bit annoying as it could get very stuffy and no windows as it’s high up. Also, we realised that the living room was joined to an adjacent room next door, which was a little strange to be connected to next door and only separated by a door (which was locked) we couldn’t hear anything so it was ok I guess. Service from staff was good and hotel is generally clean and well presented. I would overall recommend staying here.

  • 3/5 Barak S. 7 months ago on Google
We stayed for 3 nights on our arrival in Bangkok. The hotel is close to the MRT and a 10-minute walk to Chinatown. The hotel located on the upper part of the building, it makes it less convenient to negotiate elevator changes from the hotel to exit or waiting on the unAC floor. Service was kind, and breakfast was good. We stayed at the 9th floor room, which was spacious with a great view of the surroundings below. We didn't like the overall worn-out and cheap painting of the furniture, and the bathroom had a black mold in many places. The cleaning service is good enough so we could stay. Taking into account the cost of the room per night, it was OK.

The best part about the UHG is the staffs, they were so polite ,active and caring. The room was decorate in the Chinese style mixed with the modern style. The air con is working great. There was a nice smart TV that can access to YouTube and Netflix which is perfect for me who just want to relax in the room but if you want sightseeing there are many notable attractions around the hotels such as Yaowarat road that has many famous street food. 10/10

This was my second time staying here as the first time was great. The good side of this place are reasonable price, only THB 700 per night, nice room with amazing view of Hualumpong area. Breakfast is ok noting fancy but worth the price. However, my second time here was disaster. When I did check in and got into my room there were NO shampoo and soap bottles in our room at the first place, I thought they might want to reduce their cost in this pandemic situation, and I spotted there was soap pump in shower room so for me that was ok. Here is the thing when I did my check out, their staff told us, while we were sitting in the hotel lobby full of hotel guests at that time, they spotted the shampoo and soap bottles in our room were missing. So, we told them THERE WERE NO SHAMPOO AND SOAP BOTTLES in our room in the first place when we got in. I asked them for their check list when they prepare our room, however, they kept insisting the hotel maid already put those bottles in our room before checking in. They kept telling us that which making us feel ashamed in front of many people and let us question ourselves that did we do something wrong? So, I told them they could check our luggage as because WE DID NOT STEAL ANYTHING! Apparently, they didn’t check our luggage but ending the scene by telling us that checking out is done with UNFRIENDLY tone of voice like they would love us to leave this place as fast as possible. I would say I am done with this place and their horrible service. P.S. ALERT! for any future guests, please DO CHECK EVERYTHING is your room first when you enter the room, or you might experience miserable situation and be disgraced by their service in front of other people.

I stayed there both superior and deluxe rooms because they discounted the price in the lock down period. I would like to said that all are good; location, cleanliness, friendly staffs, etc. But I think the room is quite dark and of course, mostly are connecting rooms so there was noise from the next room.

Close to China Town and the train station, but not vary close to anything else. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was nice. Spaces between the lobby and the room were very dirty, poorly lit and little-no air conditioning. Prices for laundry and food were much higher than other hotels we have stayed at this trip.

A very nice hotel next to Bangkok central station. The staff are friendly and the rooms are nice, although there were some flies in the bathroom. They need to pour some bleach down the drains. However, it was a very pleasant stay and the staff were helpful in finding us taxis etc. I would recommend this place.

Very nice and clean hotel with helpful staff. There is a tour agency desk near the lobby, which is very convenient for planning trips or booking transport.l (a bit pricey though). Rooms are very clean, super comfy big beds. Not too many restaurant options nearby in the evening, but you have metro line super close from the hotel so within 2 stops we could get to more lively neighbourhood.

The hotel is a bit dated and could do with some renovations, but it has the best massage place ever! Also the breakfast was very good. Lots of choices. Staff was helpful and polite.

Okay hotel, although I'm not happy because the safe in my room isn't working. They couldn't fix it, although it looked like a simple battery issue. I asked for another room (I stay six nights and need a safe), but the young lady at the desk said it's not possible because they are fully booked. Rooms were still available online though... Disappointing to say the least.

Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, gym and swimming pool. The room is nice and clean, but there is no Sunlight. The bedsheet and blanket are smelly, they might use too much detergent.

I would give it 4 stars for value and 3 for service level. Went there as part of the Test n Go government approved hotel for Thai Pass during CoVid. The staff was working hard but clearly slammed with tone of bureaucratic bs and lobby full of guests. Location is convenient and rooms are clean and well appointed. Nothing lux. Food options were simple but tasty.

Room is great and comfortable, the only drawback is, there is no refrigerator in the room, indeed it is just a small chiller. Location wise, it is walking distance to China Town (within 300m), where can have more foods choices for evening, and there is a 7-11 store just right to the corner of the street, very convenient to get things we need.

Fair pricing BUT rooms are poorly isolated. I have been in three different rooms of the hotel and had noise issues from other rooms. Good price indeed but low sleeping quality.

Great location with a great view. The room is nice and clean. SHA+ test service is available (may not be relevant to you anymore). Also, perfect service by Bellboy "F", with great dedication to service and guest assistance.

Beautiful hotel, however the entrance might fool you. The hotel is accessez through a random door by taking the lift to the 12th floor. And its absolutely stunning. The staff are attentive and friendly, and their facilities are excellent. Beautiful pool and amazing breakfast too!

Hotel was okay if you don't need the Test and Go package. We arrived from the airport and had to wait a half hour to hear that they don't have a room for us. We had to discuss and ended up with a downgrade room. The only vegetarian meal to order was a omlette and came with chicken.

First class accommodations. Comparable to the top chain hotels. I’ve stayed at this property 4 times over two months and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

It was a very pleasant stay. The room was very clean and comfortable and the city view from the window was great. The only disadvantage is that the sounds from the next room were not completely isolated. I also liked the pool and the spa services that the hotel has to offer. Near the hotel you can find small supermarket, pharmacy and good money exchange services inside the compound of Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Center. You can also find a lot of good street food near the hotel. The metro and bus lines to the city center are near as well.

We stayed at The Quarter for 2 nights, and it was a very average experience. Note that the hotel lobby was not on the first floor, and there was no clear signage indicating to use the elevator to reach it. Overall the building feels a bit old and tired. The elevators are a bit bouncy which makes you a little insecure. The rooms were average - a nice view of the city and a comfortable bed; but the room had a strange smell, the walls were scuffed and scratched, and you could easily hear the TV in the neighbouring room. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable, and probably the best part of the stay. The service was also very friendly, and our room cleaner left us a lovely note.

👍👍 Really enjoyed the rolled noodles with crispy pork. First time trying this kind of noodle and I really like it. Never seen these before too. The pork skin was super crispy and the pork was tender. The soup was flavorful but pretty garlicky. They serve the food really fast here. Perfect if you need a...

😐 Tried out this super crowded place in Chinatown. The place is always packed during dinner time, but luckily today managed to get a spot. Tried out the stir fried prawn with chili paste, fried bass with garlic, & egg fried. Overall the taste is good. Also got the fresh OJ (which is a must) and chrysa...

👍 It's one of those cool places that is worthwhile visiting, but not jaw dropping. Food items are of a certain good quality level, but there are definitely better alternatives elsewhere. What I really liked about this cafe is the quirky sitting arrangement. The modular up-down set up, is brilliant an...
