This newly renovated hotel attracted me so much with the offer as well as the fame of their cuisine. As I entered the hotel under this covid-19 situation, I could feel the hygiene and cleanliness of the hotel as everywhere I went. Also, the sense of modernization behind Thai decoration is what ‘Montien’ is known about. The bed so far was good. It was so soft but tight at the same time. I barely couldn’t get myself out the bed. It is a must try of this hotel. Furthermore, the service I got from the staff was so great. They were friendly and attentive. This was beyond my expectation. Thanks to khun Non, the hotel manager, who fulfilled all the happiness of this stay. The offer I got included room and food credit which came to the highlight. The food was wonderful in every restaurant. Not many hotels have great and abundant menus like this. I was deeply impressed by the chicken rice and a few more Michelin menus which I couldn’t remember the names. Also, don’t forget pomelo salad. This is also a must try one too. In addition, the all you can eat Dim-Sum was extraordinary with the taste you cannot expect less from this. Lastly, you must try all of the dessert menus at the cafe, including caramel custard, chocolate moose, and blueberry cheesecake. They were worth your time. I gave 10 out 10 for this stay.

The worst hotel I've ever been. 1. Waited for an hour before moving in (they didn't manage to clean the room on time) 2. The room was cleaned NONE times in 3 days of stay. New sheets, dry towels, trash can space is your limited resource pack, use it wise. 3. Breakfast is ok, but nothing interesting at all. Only one big disadvantage I'd noticed, it's dripping wet oily bacon, both times I tried it. 4. Almost forgot to mention, that they forget to include my name in a breakfast list, so they kindly asked me to wait about 20 min to "check". 5. All the food and water in your room is not free. Bottles of water at your table too. Be careful. 6. There is no fresh air in the room, windows don't open at all. So the option is between the sleeping with no fresh air, or listening to a surprisingly loud air conditioning. 7. After I moved out, they started to ask me to pay twice, because they forget to give me a receipt. Don't believe it's positioning as a luxurious hotel with no problem for you. If you decided to stay here, as it is convenient to stay in the center of Bangkok, at least be caution about getting a receipt as soon as you paid.

A 3-star hotel in 5-star clothing. Service is sloppy. Rooms are dirty. Look behind the surface 'glitz' of the refurbishment and it's very shabby. We were made to feel unwelcome as a gay couple checking in, the floor tiles in our room had sticky and dirty patches, there was black mouldy slime around the washbasin tap. Our bed sheets were torn. Towels are washed out and tired. The larger (premium) rooms are opposite the lifts so you pay more to get more noise basically. Breakfast was average.

Bad service overall. The room key was not working for a few times for the lift, and the staff was still very slow to react. It is not a professional you would expect. The room facilities are not well. Dirty sheet is found, and cleaning staff was very slow (I came back at 4pm and room still unclean). Staff cannot speak English well and fail to understand our demands. Also very rigid and not having problem solving mindset, they do not have customers in mind. Food is ok but cannot compensate for the other parts. This is one of my worse experience staying in a 4/5 stars hotel, will not visit again.

We travelled to Bangkok along with five families and booked the Montien not really knowing what to expect. The hotel was meticulously clean, family rooms were very spacious, comfortable and pampering. One of the best showers/baths ever! And great breakfast. There's a lovely pool and the service was amazing - they tended to every issue we had and provided information and were helpful - from the General Manager to the stewards to the waiters. Only comments: we were spread across 3 floors, and the elevator requires a room key, and only allows you to go to your own room floor. So we couldn't travel between floors easily to visit each other. Also - location is very central, but right near Pat Pong with some street scenes at night that are not for the faint hearted...

Series of unacceptable mistakes: - We accidentally broke into someone else’s room because they gave us the wrong room keys. - The link to their room dining menu was not working and the operator (who barely spoke English) dialled off rudely when we asked for a physical menu - There was no housekeeping even when we asked for it since 9am - Dirty sheets - Elevator malfunction. We were trapped once, and our key card failed to work twice. The worst part of it was that the hotel staff asked us to delete our review on Google during check out. They were dishonest and unwilling to admit their mistakes.

Five stars for everything seems too good to be true but it’s genuine! Mr Pierre area manager and every staff member work hard, and with a smile to cater for all your needs. They make it look easy and appear to enjoy it. It’s a happy hotel and I found it’s central location very safe. It’s near good restaurants, markets, night life and public transport and Bobby even accompanied me to see local attractions as I was unsure of where to go. Breakfast has plenty variety of great food and coffee. I used area around the peaceful outdoor pool to read. My room was spacious and bright with free bottled water daily and a safe. I would be delighted to have another ten days at the Montien

The hotel has been renovated to look new but props and decor details are not well taken into account. Room are new but basic. Shower came out only half even just renovated. Overall not good value for money for accommodation prices. Staff especially front of the house are not really welcoming. I smile to many staff but 100% was ignored. Front office staff who attended my check in and check out were professional but others keep talking, ignorant and not ready to work when other guests reached the counter for services. Food & beverage are not bad, not too expensive but not cheap. Bar service was not impressive even the surrounding was good. Restaurant staff are well trained and paid attention to guests. Breakfast is so so. My Trial stay has No major reason to return at this price point - there are many others around has similar or better products at better service and price.

I recently stayed at the Montien with my family and I strongly recommend it to anybody that is coming from overseas using the travel pass program. The hotel itself has been newly renovated and the rooms are by far some of the nicest I've seen for the price. The mattress and choices of pillows were great and the staff were really nice and helpful. From point of pick up at the airport to the covid test and check in was a really quick process. They provide you with dinner and breakfast in which were really good. I strongly recommend the Montien and they could easily be charging triple the price for the service and accommodation you receive. Thank you Montien Staff and management for providing me with 5 star service, we will be back

I cannot understand how this hotel got Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice. It must have deceived the reviewers somehow because based on my experience, the service and facilities are far from deserving of such recognition. It's hard to believe that it has received such high reviews. Room: 3.5/5 The rooms are nice and average-sized, but the bathroom could be more appealing. When you turn up the heat in the shower, you sacrifice the pressure by a lot. When you want to increase strength, you must sacrifice the heat and stand in freezing cold water. Cleanliness: 2/5 The cleanliness, on the other hand, is just plain bad. We found orange stains on the bathroom walls, big black pieces of something that looked suspiciously like cat hairballs were on the floor of the main room, and there were stains on the bedsheets. Service: 3/5 We requested a few things from the hotel, such as extra towels, but they didn't give us any. We requested again, and they didn't give us. Breakfast: 2/5 The breakfast is just terrible. The bread is half frozen, the eggs are disgusting, the salads are a few days old, and the whole restaurant is freezing. The aircon is at the minimum temperature, around 18 °C. I suggest you go eat at a different place (if you choose this hotel). Location: 5/5 The only good thing about this hotel is its location. It is located next to Sala Daeng BTS Station, Samyan MRT Station, and the Si Lom MRT Station. I suggest you take the BTS because it's bigger, faster, and the system is just so much better.

Lovely hotel, very quiet. Perfect for a relaxing get away. Staff were wonderful, very polite and welcoming. Tikk the doorman went above and beyond. No matter what time of the day it was he was always bright bubbly and wanting to lend a hand. Can’t wait to come back!!

Fantastic chicken rice at reasonable price with generous portion. The rice it self is fantastic. One can eat purely the rice without anything. The chicken is actually boneless, and it is awesome. The chillies accompanying the set is so delicious and they do not try to overpower the taste of the chicken rice rather to supplement. A must visit when in Bangkok.

Worth the visit. Friendly staff, good breakfast and clean rooms! The location is a little bit removed from some of the better restaurants in Bangkok but if a grab scooter is an option this largely eliminates the issues. Guests should know that this is situated quite near a red light district, but ultimately safe and secure

This hotel is a hard one to review as it should and could be close to superb, but is let down but some things that are easily managed and by others that suggest poor management. Could easily have been 3 stars or 5. The room whilst huge and with great features had dirty towels on 3 occasions and don’t have feel of the luxury the hotel. One of those was uncomfortably brown. On first arrival the room floor was uncleaned and had remnants of previous guest. The real disappointment was the staff whose attitude was odd, disinterested is probably best way. Serving food would start to chat with colleagues, surprise at paying for breakfast every single day, unable to resolve a simple bill enquiry and despite promises no follow up, still waiting on actual invoice. On upside some staff were very pleasant and location was good for getting around the city if you skip fact that its next door to a seedy area - which means avoiding at night. Breakfast was ok but not at 5* standard. And yes chicken rice is good although not sure that’s worth the stay.

This is our second stay at Montien Surawong within a year, and once again, it's flawless – we feel right at home! The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, the staff is attentive to your needs, and the breakfast is diverse and excellent! A special thank you to Pierre-André, who truly thinks of everything and takes the time to ensure that everything is going well during your stay!

Stayed her while on holiday with the family. The hotel was good but there was 1 complaint on the water pressure in the bathroom. It was too low and not working properly. Breakfast was OK and typical for a buffet. The staff were pleasant and accomodatin through our stay.

Need to state that we did NOT stay here in 2023. I did in 1985 and wanted to come by and see what I could remember at a 9 year old. in 2023 this hotel is a upmarket facility. White marble throughout the lobby. Although I could barely recall what it was like in 1985, something just felt familiar. There was a wedding being set up and bride and groom were having photos taken. We managed to sneak in for a look. Great location near PatPong market, shops and bars.

Montien hotel located in the center of the city not only has convenient geographical location but also beautiful surroundings. Surrounded by trees, it is also close to the subway and bus stops, making it very convenient for travel. The hotel provides Chinese-speaking service, and there is a morning market opposite the hotel where you can find many local specialties. I would especially like to praise a staff member named Mac. He was very enthusiastic and carefully helped me find my lost wallet. My wallet was forgotten in a taxi, and Mac, along with several other hotel staff and two Chinese interns, helped me coordinate and contact people tirelessly, and finally managed to retrieve my wallet. The enthusiasm and carefulness of the staff made me deeply moved, and for this, I express my sincere gratitude.

Happy staff, great location! I booked this place for new year's eve. I wouldn't usually go for a 5 star hotel, but i certainly didn't regret it. They let me check in after midnight after my flight was delayed, and the staff were very happy and helpful. My room was upgraded which i was pleased about. The downstairs bar is really nice, I had a great Club Sandwich! The gym is the only thing which I think needs improving, as its a bit outdated. Needs a bench or two with straight bar bells.

Location: 5/5 Staff: 3/5 When asked them a small request, they acknowledged, wrote down, but for some reason made sure it would be only partially done; the consierge was very helpful. Breakfast: 3/5 mediocre (for ex: the bread was still half frozen), the restaurant is freezing so it's unpleasant to eat there. Cleanliness: 3/5. We had strange orange stains on the bathroom wall. Room overall: 3/5. Spacious, but no proper storage (no drawers or shelves) for clothes, only hanging which makes you keep almost everything in the suitcase.

Great hotel in the heart of Bangkok, stayed here for 1 night while transiting through. Staff were amazing, rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was incredible! Had a great stay would definitely stay again.

This is an outstanding hotel. Modern, clean and traditional design elements are perfectly blended together and the result is simply astonishing. The location is great, close to sky train and MRT. Rooms are spacious, quiet, spotless and very nicely decorated. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And the facilities are truly amazing - lovely swimming pool and very well equipped gym. I would definitely recommend this hotel. A big thank you to Tik, for brightening up our days every time we were crossing the hall.

Food in the hotel: The hotel’s chicken rice was sumptuous especially the chicken which was tender and very juicy. The green curry is awesome for those who enjoy eating curry. The Thai milk tea is very sweet Service in the hotel: the hotel staff are very friendly and housekeeping service is excellent. Next, the general manager is also very nice and even came to help me with my baggage. Rooms: Rooms from the ninth floor offer a scenic view. Location wise: it is near a BTS station and the mrt in Bangkok along with a night market and a shopping centre making it very convenient and an ideal location for tourist Summary: this hotel is a place a strongly suggests if you are visiting Bangkok. Also, it is recommend to reserve chicken rice when making reservation at the hotel dinner area.

It's an all new Montien! Must stay, dine & wine at this iconic hotel, which has a legacy of over 55 years and a super prompt, smiling team waiting to greet you as soon as you step in! There are few hotels, where you would still see guests queuing up to eat at their restaurants and this place is certainly very very popular with the local families and guests alike. Highly recommend!

Visited the hotel 5-6 years before renovation, was old. Until I had my lastest stay lastFriday, completely renovated, Lobby, Room, bathrooms and all amenities are super new and nice. Good bed, good pillow I had very good sleep. Chicken Rice was tasty with variety of sauce in the set, but A bit too big portion to eat alone (for me) they could have a smaller portion for someone who doesnt eat much 😉

We stayed for 9 days and it was fabulous. The room was newly furnished clean and not too small. Bathroom are beautiful and large. The included breakfast has a good variety. The room service is basic but good. The best thing about the hotel was the location in the middle of everything and the service. Khun Tik at the door is the best in personally making you feel welcome. We will stay again when we return to Bkk.

Really enjoyed my time here. I went to Thailand for a cosmetic procedure and had two weeks at the hotel for recovery. They were more than accommodating and the service remained at a high level despite the slight language barrier. Was perfect. Highly recommend

Fist time to stay as biz trip. The hotel near by my office. Also there are two train stations. It's very convenient location. Buffet type breakfast. Fresh bread is nice. Recommend tourist and business persons.

Without a doubt the nicest hotel in Bangkok. Truly mindblowing architecture and design coupled with amazing staff. The extremely happy gentleman who greats you at the door to the general manager who goes out of his way to make your stay more comfortable. We were a family of 3 and the suite was above our needs and expectations. Buffet breakfast was extremely delicious and varied in a special setting in the restaurant downstairs. 10/10 will never stay anywhere else in Bangkok. Again truly unbelievable.

The hotel is newly renovated with spacious rooms and excellent staff. They were quick with service and showed genuine interest in our comfort. their lobby door man is the most enthusiastic I’ve ever seen. Their GM who was in the lobby carried a fellow golfer’s bag to help him out, which shows they were ready to help be it the GM or the door man . Overall for us it was a seamless experience and we loved our stay.

Great place to stay. Chic Lobby and even more Chic rooms. The Michelin star restaurant was full beyond imagination. Chicken Rice was perfect taste, texture, temperature. Never had such perfection before. Kids enjoyed every bit! Thanks K. Pierre again.

Khoa-man-kai or steamed rice topped with chicken was one of my favorite dishes. I had this menu at Ruenton, a restaurant in Montien Hotel Surawong. The order would be served for a person. It had 4 sauces to eat with chicken and rice. I also ordered pad thai with shrimp and its taste was so good.

Magnificent Hotel, which has been fully refurbished, with a perfect location nearby Lumpini Park, Silom et Rama 4 road. But the best parts of the Hotel are: 1: the Service by the staff and Management' attention to every Clients to make their stay one if the most comfortable experience. 2:The room was amazing in term of space, quality and comfort 3 : the restaurants : multitude of choices of restaurants and food within the Hotel complex and around. If you are looking for a great stay in Bangkok, Montien is the right place.

Came here to eat the famous hainanese chicken rice. It truly lives up to its name. Very delicious! The chicken is so smooth and not at all dry. The rice is also very delicious. They have 4 different type of sauce to choose from. You can enjoy this Hainanese chicken rice in a clean relaxed environment. They have refill drinks as well. The place also has different type of thai food to choose from and dim sum in the afternoon. Highly recommend to come here for lunch!

This hotel was amazing to stay at, all the service and food was perfect. The staff are so lovely and always make sure you’re looked after. Tik and Pierre gave us the warmest welcome, I really recommend staying here 🥰

A bit disappointed with the taste. As I had Hinanese chicken at Montien Hotel Riverside before coming here, so my expectation is quite high. When the dish was served, I noticed the serving size was smaller than another branch. If you’d like to order another bowl of soup, you need to pay extra 25 baht/ bowl while another branch you do not have to and they served you another portion of sauces. Dim Sum was good. I do love steamed spareribs with black bean sauce though.
