Rude staff Hidden fees Location Rooms Khao San palace is based on the khaosan road which is a party street. Don't expect to sleep at night. Windows are not sound proof and you can hear the music all night. The staff at the hotel is just rude. They don't care about you and just want you to get lost. When I got there there was 500 BHT deposit and you need to sign a waiver stating that you won't get a refund if you decide to leave early. As long as my room looked nice, the damp smell was very strong. Bed sheets were filthy and had stains on them. At night, the music keeps you awake. I won't go there again nor I'd recommend anyone else to go there. Avoid

Booked for 2 nights, but stay only 3 hours. Reason: Very rude and unwelcoming front desk staffs, dirty and bad smelling room with ants, bed bugs and cockroaches. If you are reading my review, a gentle suggestion to book another hotel if you can. It seems that Hotel management and owner are careless about all other complaints as I see in other reviews. I forget to mention that they don't even honor cancellation refunds as they will just say cancellation or refund not allowed as per hotel policy ( I least expected it since the reputation but worth mentioning here.) If you are still reading, please note that even swimming pool stinks and is dirty. So if you want to book this hotel for pool, it's still not worthy.

Worst experience i had in Thailand with a hotel. First of all location is in the middle of the party street, not sound proof at all.we had room in the third floor and could hear the music like it was coming from the room next door. At weekends its like this until 2am, weekdays should be until 12am. The entrance to the hotel is full with very drunk people, throwing up or fighting with cops. You should know sleeping is a challenge in this hotel. Other than that- toilet was broken, sink was stuck, water in the shower was not very hot. We were pretty sure we had bed bugs, as we got bitten the moment we got there. Stuff was not helpful with any of this. We booked 2 nights and left after one, horrible night. Just stay away, not worth it

Small room, Luke warm shower, no elevator, but mainly, their main picture for this booking is of the view from their roof top at night which is beautiful. But they kick you out and lock the door to the roof at 7pm. I asked the one man at the front desk about this on 11/21 at 7:05pm to see if we could stay later and he said "so!!" with a hugely dramatic gesture and a ridiculous "get out of my face" expression. That was the end of the conversation.

dirty noisy place with old furniture and paint falling off the wall... if you are not a drunk who came there to get drunk and have loud arguments with drunk friends, then don't come here because you will have trouble sleeping.. a commodity that is missing in this hotel there is silence at night. loud fights in the corridors, drunk people and a noisy disco that resounds in all rooms will not let you sleep ... lost money.

This hotel has everything you need if your want to be on the main party strip. The rooms are clean and the AC works well. Staff are very friendly is a good place for a few nights. Be warned the music from all the bars is very loud and it can be herd in your rooms. This is not the hotels fault you are literally on Khaosan Road. Pool looked better in the pictures but is still decent breakfast and lunch is decent price and not bad.

Great hotel at the perfect spot!!! It is placed right in the middle of the party street and night market in the Khaosan Road which is also very central for most of the activities you can do in Bangkok!! I heard that some people complaining about the loud music, from my side I have to say that you don't hear so much of it in the room and they stop at midnight, so if you're not super sensitive and want to sleep early than you shouldn't have an issue with that. And it is super great that they have a pool on the roof where you can go for relaxing. :)

Avoid this hotel If you want to sleep at night full of English-speaking drunken rude tourists yelling at the top of their voices that can be heard through the thin walls of the room will keep you awake until 3:00 am disco music that makes the walls of your room tremble. you won't fall asleep. Old furniture paint peeling off the walls dark interior view of the wall of the opposite building... waste of money... don't even try to sleep here.

Super loud! Don't stay here! There are multiple nightclubs downstairs with hard dance music blasting at excessive volume, and not just loud but massive soundclash from multiple sources. Rooms are not adequately soundproofed and forget about opening your windows from mid afternoon to 2am. Horrible experience. Just horrible.

Great location for anyone who likes to party. If you want a quiet hotel for an early night this isn’t the one though. Pool on the roof is a great sun trap

Traumatising experience. We got there and the receptionist (Aoy) was really unpleasant. Once we paid he became physically and verbally aggressive for letting a friend charge her phone at our room. He dragged our friend to the ground. We were scared and had to leave the hostel at 2am. Apart from that the noise is unbearable. You cannot hear the person next to you due to party noise. It is inadmissible that a staff member hits a guest (or anyone).

Great rooftop pool and nice area out front to smoke cigarettes. There’s a dispensary in the front before you start actually walking through Khaosan. Was hard to sleep at night, but obviously that’s expected on the party road haha.

Be careful about the room you book! I stayed in this hotel two different times in very different rooms. The first time was in the area behind the front desk on the 1st floor. The room was fine and quiet. I slept great. The second time was in the area right on Khaosan Road. Similar room, but incredibly noisy. If I can share a picture of the party from the window, I will. If I were you, I would just get a hotel a couple streets away.

Worse place ever!!!! if you want a calm place to rest, this is not the place that you looking for. Small room and noise, you feel like right on the middle of the dance floor, actually i have to look for another hotel at 2:00 am i was going crazy 🤯 Not really friendly staff. you will find much better options just few streets away from Khao san.

This is not a fake review to make the hotel look good but just to shed some light on my experience here. After reading all the negative comments, I still went ahead and booked this place because it’s right on Khao san road (not the noisiest part - the music is still tolerable) and I think most people take this place for the same reason so expect the area to be noisy. The staff are ‘strict’ when they speak, it does come across as rude but I understand where they are coming from. The quality of tourist in this area are 80% there to party and get hammered, the staffs have to maintain a strict personality to deal with them. That being said. They place was absolutely clean and had everything functional and spacious. I took the splendid deluxe room, enjoyed my stay here. Just as I expected.

This is probably a great hotel for one or two nights. Sadly - and stupidly - I was there for eight. Khaosan Road itself is hell on earth at night unless you're under 30 (I'm not). Room is ok - shower had poor pressure and didn't stay hot for long. On second day, the plug stuck in the (very tiny) wash hand basin and instead of fixing it, they just removed it. TV worked for 10 minutes at a time and channel choice was rubbish. Staff were friendly enough but never 'went beyond the call of duty' to help you. Unless you really want to be in the midst of the party, look elsewhere.

The hotel was nice The pool is good and not deep only 1.2 m deep. But closes too early The location is in Khaosan road so it gonna be abit nosy but they have eat plugs just in case haha Rooms are clean and they maintain it very well. The room have a safe box to store your valuables

Staff at check in seemed quite miserable - not the usual welcome you get in Thailand. Room smelled of cigarettes. Dim lights in the room. Couldn't read under them. Shower and bathroom were clean and well presented, which is a huge plus. Sadly, I booked one night on a Friday. The noise from the street parties and bars went until 4.30 am and was definitely audible from the rooms. It's not a terrible place, but I won't go back. Mainly because it's right on Khoa San Road and that's not a fun place at my age

Place is nice, room is spacious. Amenities such as mini bar and refrigerator are available. Hot shower is consistent. This hotel also has a rooftop pool. Breakfast available every morning for Baht 199. The street to this hotel is very crowded at night. During the day it’s a good chill out place for beer while at night it becomes a street full of people walking around buying foods, beers. Plenty of stuff to do and buy here in Khaosan road. And never forget to have an authentic Thai massage. There are several massage parlours there at very affordable rates.

Is a regular hotel, I choose it because is in the middle of khaosan road so you just walk and find all the music, party, restaurants and also you’re close to the main temples (30 baht in tuktuk). The receptionist don’t speak very good English and is a little difficult to speak with them, they don’t understand when you order food to your room and sometimes they were a little bit rude. The room was ok, the mattress was a bit hard and the bathroom smells not so good. The first time we entered in the room smells cigarette. Lot of mosquitos so bring repellent. Air conditioning was fine and they have elevator. Some nights the music was really loud but it’s normal because the hotel is in the middle of party zone. If you want a place to be quiet and rest, this is not the place. We ordered as breakfast scrambled eggs and toast and club sandwich, very good but I recommend you to go to the parallel street (rambutri) there are lots of good restaurants, not so much loud music or crowded people and you can go walking 5 minutes. We had a problem with this hotel. We ordered food the days we were there and when we want to check out of the hotel I wanted to pay with my credit card but their system was not working so I paid in cash (dollars because was the only I had) the guy accepted the money and 4 hours later when I was at the airport appear a charge on my credit card so they took money without my permission. I called the hotel and the guy start to yell and didn’t speak english good and he wanted me to go back to the hotel to pay me back. Take care if you use your credit card, is better if you use baht (local money) to pay everything.

Perfect location in the middle of bustling Khaosan. You can walk easily to historical attractions like the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The room was nice and looked clean but when you look closer you can see spots they don't clean like the bedside table and the telephone and the shower glass. But bedsheets were clean. The corridor however smelled of weed. Ask for a room facing away from Khaosan like we did so that it's less noisy at night. They do provide earplugs though. The rooftop pool was not bad.

Great location if you wanna be close to Khaosan Road and bars for going out during the night. During the day it’s lovely, less people obviously and pretty chill street ; and during the evenings it’s time to party ! Small room, the pictures made them look bigger but it’s still confortable ; You can sometimes hear people going in or out of the rooms but that’s ok, and the party in the street lasts until 3.30/4.00 in the morning usually but if you have your windows closed it’s fine (we left our bathroom window opened and we could hear when we were inside, outside with the door open or closed it was all good !). AC inside, which is a plus because it’s very hot ! Swimming pool is perfect, there’s a bathroom next to it & you can grab towels next to it and order drinks as well 👌🏼

Staff was super fast and reliable, the rooms were perfect for what we needed, it was noisy but that's what you expect of a party place. Only bad thing was the moldy smell in the room, it might be because of the air-conditioning. Rooftop and pool were so good to refresh, level 6 in the lift up the stairs, fresh towels 😊

Keep in mind that you are in the loudest part of the loudest street in Bangkok, so I can say that it is pretty quiet for that but you can still listen to the music (decent enough to sleep). Rooms are small but everything looks clean and tidy

  • 3/5 vinnie_DnB 8 months ago on Google
Nice hotel, but the room was a bit small and dark with the window open as well, a hole in the wall, and a non working toilet lock. But that aside, it was right in the middle of the action, and there was a nice bar and pool.

I like that place. Room was clean and nice. Best location for partying. Pool in the rooftop, really cool. I just didn't like that the shower didn't have much power....

Khaosan Palace is great value for money. I would always recommend booking 1 or 2 nights before you arrive and book more at the hotel as the price really is amazing!!! Our room (violet room) is a good size and quiet. Staying at the Violet Tower rooms, which are different and are at the front of the hotel, which is very loud. But since we moved into the rooms at the back of the hotel we can hardly hear khaosan road! And the rooftop pool and so relaxing, and the bar is well priced. Would always recommend to somebody that wants to be in the thick of things but still want some comfort. Avoid Amber rooms as they are TINY and loud. Other than that, it's brilliant

Great hotel for the money. Great location for Khaosan road too. We had a ‘splendid room’ which was lovely, and VERY clean. Music from khaosan road was loud (as expected) but bearable. Rooftop pool and views were great too! Lost one star due to the friendliness of the staff on reception & the shower was either really cold or really really hot.

The hotel is located on Khaosan Road which is always busy at night. For those of you who like to party, this place is perfect, still able to sleep well despite the faint sound of music coming from the room. For the price this hotel is quite cheap for the price of a room along with breakfast. The staff both at the reception desk and in the restaurant are very friendly. We can ask them to clean our rooms every day. They will ask for a deposit of 1000 Baht during the stay and will be multiplied if we check out.

Insanely load till 4am every night as literally on Khaosan Road. Very hard to sleep, if you are not gona be out till late each nighy stay somewhere further away from the noise. Has a lift to get up and down. Rooms comfy

This hotel staff not friendly. Night shift reception 1 male n 1 female even worst. Scolding bad word and behave like hooligan. When I was asking for their name they even say to me why must tell you. Omg.. such service unprofessional. Its my first n last will never support this hotel anymore. All behave so rude. I seen everything through my eyes.

We booked this hotel as it was listed with a lift. They ended up placing us in another building on the third floor with no lift and did not change the room even though we mentioned I had a knee injury that makes walking up stairs very difficult. Terribly noisy as well. The windows shake all night from the music from the street. The photo of the pool is outdated and the pool is closed in the evening.

  • 1/5 Hayley B. 8 months ago on Google
Not at all as advertised. We booked the Violet Tower - we were put in Amber and the room vibrates at night due to the noise. We had to move rooms on arrival as the room was unclean and in our other room there was cockroaches in the shower.

  • 5/5 Dave P. 1 year ago on Google
As good as it gets. Prepare to lose sleep though, even if you don't go out the thumping music will still find you. Best food etc at the very top of the road where the tuk tuk drivers wait. There is a short stretch of road leading to a parallel street which is far less busy and far cheaper. So essentially you can criss-cross between party madness and chilled vibes. Locals are lovely, if you want to avoid the street sellers just wear sunglasses and headphones

  • 4/5 J 3 years ago on Google
We stayed here on our first night in Thailand. Rooms were clean and the location is great. The room we stayed in was relatively soundproof from road noise They have a cute pool on the rooftop that we enjoyed with a strawberry daiquiri I would recommend staying here

Bad bad bad. In Bangkok you can find some really good places. But this one is a pure example of a terrible place. We stopped for a coffee and croissant. The coffe was burning hot. One of the worst i drinked so far. The croissant was like that one packed one bought in the shop and warmed in the microwave. Avoid this place.

The room was a box, it felt very claustrophobic. There were ants all over the sink, which i could live with, but then 20 minutes after checking in i found ants in my bed. Disgusting. I did not want to stay there, and asked for a refund for my room and my friends room i had booked for the day after, to which the staff said if i messaged booking.com they would sort it out, then when i requested the refund, booking.com messaged back to say the hotel had denied the request. I went back to argue and the staff said because i had used the room for one night (20 minutes) i could not get a refund, for either room and also said their staff checked the room and found no ants, despite me having several videos on my phone.. Location was good if you want to party and get drunk all night, but i was very disappointed with this hotel and its staff.

I talk about the Café at Khaosan palace. I ordered the big breakfast . Almost could not eat anything. Nasty bacon,ham....I decided to go there again only for coffee, omelett and toast. That was fair, unfortunately the waitress kept 55 Bath telling me she gave me the change already back. I always give a tip but don't like that kind of behavior. Prefer to decide myself how much to give. For me no more. Thanks.

⛔️Warning if you stay at this hotel you should expect 0% safety in the room⛔️ First check-in the women receptionist didn’t even say “Hi, Hello or Sawasdee” to me at all‼️ Think she didn’t see I am as a guest? because I was Thai? We stayed at room 308 and we were chilling naked in our room after shower then around 2pm some people opened the door by keycard‼️ They almost seen us naked‼️ Found out the men receptionist fault that gave duplicated keycard to the other guests🤬 After this happened my boyfriend went down to the reception, the receptionist men didn’t even said sorry and didn’t even makeup anything for us while we staying🙄 📍Probably The worse hotel service I’ve ever had since i been traveling for 3 months 0 ⭐️ for all the hotel receptions - 0% Service Mind - They all didn’t trained properly to be receptionist - Unprofessional solving problem 2 ⭐️ for facilities in the room - the sinks was too small no place to put my caring stuffs - no closet - no hanger in the room 3⭐️ for cleanness was just ok Only good thing is cheap and located on Khaosan road
