We feel this is like a 3 stars hotel with a great location. The hallways are very smelly. The walls are paper thin, our neighbors keep waking us up at 2am, when they are watching TV or talking on the phone. The breakfast buffet is OK. The pool was nice but small. When booking the room only 2 guests get the buffet free. Our daughter was charged extra per day. Our outside view was a disgusting building with bird droppings everywhere. We kept the curtains closed to avoid the view.

I stayed at this hotel in 1997 and it has hardly changed at all. I wanted to stay again as I had also heard it was haunted. I must say for the price it is very good value. I liken it to an old mercedes, it may not have all the bells and whistles and look fancy but it works well and is reliable. There are some nice touches like a separate drinking water tap in the bathroom which is really useful when brushing your teeth. The hotel is well kept and there are loads of dining choices. I had the buffet in the Tivoli cafe which was order from menu but the food was amazing. There was Chinese, Vietnamese and western dishes on the menu and I enjoyed everything I tried. I would definitely return as it is a part of Bangkok history. Sadly, I did not see a ghost ๐Ÿ‘ป

I booked a 3 night stay here in October 2022 but I only managed to stay 1 night. I can't bear staying there any longer I booked another hotel right away the next morning. The room is musty, smells weird, and very creepy. The lighting could use a lot of work. Actually, everything could use a lot of work. There's no iron that can be requested from the room service and none at common area too! You have to wait until the laundromat is open at 9 something which is very inconvenient. You thought with the price you would get the basic necessities but hot water is only available at the common area. The bed is very hard I get a back ache from just 1 night stay. It's obviously a very very old hotel that never bother going through any improvement or change. Although the location is great, there are many other new and modern hotels with great location too. And the direct connection between the hotel and BTS is closed at night so that's a bit pointless. I hope the hotel will modernize their hotel otherwise, I hope it will go bankrupt.

I read the reviews & was a little worried. But having stayed there, the low scores are not justified. It is centrally located and taxi anywhere is affordable. It was built sometime ago so every taxi knows how to get there, takes a lot of stress off you when you have shopped till you drop & just need to get home :)) To dispel some remarks i read. No musky smells, has kettle & coffee making facilities, water/toileteries/towel replenished daily. Some remarks maybe from people that have lager budget expecting Champagne, however if you are just a normal person this place would rate easily a 4. Service is good. Come on your are in Thailand, service is excellent.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. From the coffee and complimentary bottled water in the rooms to the breakfasts. Swimming pools are lovely and everything is clean all the time. Very convenient location with a Skytrain stop attached to the hotel and a water taxi less than 5 minutes walk away

We enjoyed our x4 nights here. Its like stepping back to 1984 chique. We had an inside room and was quiet at night. The pillow was one of the best I've ever laid my head on (I want one). View from roof pool is great. Despite being dated, rooms were cleaned daily, link to sky train helpful and location great for Bangkok.

Good value hotel for a great central location. Been staying here for over 30+ years. Very 80's style glam but they have done some updates. Very clean and tidy rooms ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been staying at this hotel for many years watching it's decline first hand. The location is great and the price good but I can't recommend it any more. Our stay this time was very uncomfortable and the service worse than ever. Most of its character has worn away. We won't be going back.

Long wait to check in. The room had no iron, no hair dryer, and no tissue. the water stuck in the bathtub. You are not allowed to use the microwave in the kitchen. Someone did let me use the microwave and after I finished he asked for money, I said why after that he said ok don't worry. Even the plug in the lobby doesn't allow you to charge your phone. When requesting any service, they want a fee. when ask about anything they say no. the swimming pool was out of service. Surprisingly, when checking out, they asked for an amount because I use a small map that was in the room. It is customary for all hotels to put books and maps about the city for free. Worst hotel ever. weird & rude behavior from all the staff special with international people.

although the location is good, don't expect too much service. At the least if you ask the pool manager to turn 9n the lights you can expect to get screamed at. no smoking area, No sauna, no pool and no WiFi ...... everything you need is unavailable. The best part was checking in.... the only hotel to take my luggage to my room . Overall I give it a 2 out of 10 for location only.

Reasonable hotel for the price. Disappointed with the service from front desk staff. Safe not working. Would not replace room. Had to wait 6 hours for the the safe to be fixed. No balcony available. All the the windows are locked cannot be opened. Non smoking hotel. Smokers will need to exit the hotel to smoke. Very few staff speak English. Would not recommended this hotel for long stay.

Great value for the location. Comfortable, good breakfast options, great coffee place downstairs. It has slightly eclectic decor (mostly gold and brown) and Elvis impersonators sing downstairs sometimes but it was very clean and the staff are helpful. Pool on the roof. No complaints at all.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The room was clean, and quite big. Checkin was a bit slow, but that's ok. Breakfast was very good. Be aware, that they charge 1.000 baht for "deposit". There is a direct link to Ratchathewi station from the hotel. There is a 0-24 7-Eleven, and a couple street food places near the hotel.

Location is very convenient. Can take train from airport straight to Phaya Thai. Then interchange to BTS and take one station to the hotel. The hotel is old and kinda basic but quite clean and good enough for me. The surrounding area seems safe and lively with wet market within walking distance. Some streetfood vendors and coffeeshops are availble along the alleys next to the hotel.

The location of this place is probably the only reason it's still so busy. It connects directly to the sky train, which is super convenient. But the hotel itself is pretty dated. Whole thing has kind of a dank, musky smell. Rooms are okayish. But we were told they were closing to remodel next month (Aug 2023) so things may change

I had the best experience staying here! The hotel located in Rachatewi which is only one step away from Skytrain station. And also near from Siam. With really affordable price, this is a really good deal! They gave wonderful services, and also the staffs were so kind and nice to foreigners๐Ÿฅบ

Not as expected, more like a 3 stars hotel than 4 stars. Walkway carpet to the rooms seems like ages never being washed and no tootbrush nor toothpaste provided. Better bring your own toothbrush n toothpaste. Wardrobe sliding door quite bad, need much effort to push it aside. Only one power point available, the other power point only workable if the wall lights are switch on as the connection is in series. No kettle need to get your own hot water using your own thermal water bottle. The Gym is well equipped. Pool is mall. Time for the hotel to renovate and bring it's back to its former glory. Simple renovation such as lacquering the wood, changing its carpet to a more cheerful mode.

I called the operator to ask for WIFI password. They said to use the room number but it did not work. Then I called the reception and they informed me that the room number is no longer the password. This shows a lack of internal collaboration. The reception should also have informed guests about WIFI password upon check-in. Cleary an improvement is needed here!

Overall great hotel. Reception welcoming was warm. Big massive lobby. Room was great. Hotel needs renovations other then that atmosphere was extremely pleasent & about 2 minutes walk to BTS train station. Recommended to stay here for any foreigners wanting to travel to Bangkok and stay during Covid-19 pandemic price is very affordable.

It's an ok hotel, just very ordinary. Stayed for four nights. I've learned a new golden rule: never ever stay in an hotel when it's undergoing refurbishment. It was difficult to flush the toilet, You had to wait ages for a lift etc etc. breakfast buffet...wide selection of Thai, Asian and European dishes, all edible but all ordinary and uninspiring is

Rooms was old fashioned but very well kept and clean. Sadly, no kettle in the room but one drinkable hot water dispenser was available outside the room. Kinda inconvenient to get hot water in the morning. The service from staff was okay. The best thing about this hotel is that it is next to a BTS. Very convenient to go tourist places near and far.

I have stayed in this hotel many times, love it for its great location. Connected to BTS station and walkable to Siam Square. Wonderful to see that the hotel updated the look and feel of the rooms- more modern and clean look. As a very big hotel, expect long queue for check in/out. I didn't like that the shower was lukewarm, and housekeepers were not so friendly but buffet breakfast team was fantastic - refilling the food promptly and efficiently ensuring that tables get turned over quickly. They are very helpful to find a place for you if you can't find one yourself. The lobby was still under renovation when I visited, looking forward to what it might look like in the future.

Asia Hotel is a Big Hotel, Centrally Located, and probably the only Hotel in Bangkok connected to the Sky Train. Just 1 Stop to Siam and 1 Stop to the Airport Rail (Phaya Thai). Also near the Commuter Boat Station. Street Food stalls beside the hotel come alive during the afternoon. The Hotel is dated, Rooms are dated but the Price is Very Affordable! Rooms are bigger than usual hotel rooms, not Creepy like some reviews say. Hotel is Clean. The hotel has 2 pools and a Gym also. Overall a Good Choice if you want a Centrally Located Affordable Hotel.

The rooms look quite old and a bit dirty and the TV is kinda low quality, it has only 30 channels and all of them are mostly Thai shows, Iโ€™m not sure how that can entertain tourist or people who doesnโ€™t even understand or know how to speak Thai. Staff were nice, but checking in was just too long. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is near the BTS skytrain and a walk to Siam Paragon was only 10 minutes or so. Not the kind of hotel I would recommend but if you are on a low budget you should come here.

Old fashion Hotel, no renovate for long time, old but clean. Room facilities is good but old. It's value for money, meet standard for stay but not over expectation. Service is good. However their policy for room deposit by cash or credit card is not convenient. Hotel no ATM, I have to withdraw cash from outside or credit card with 7-14 days return. Location very good connect with bts and many good restaurants, cafe and bars. In my opinion this hotel need facility renovate.

The hotel Asia or Asia hotel is in a very good spot in Bangkok. The hotel is infront of the MRT station Ratchathewi. To get the station there is a bridge connecting to the hotel. We got there at 11AM and went to the Many check-in counters. When we asked to check-in they said no and that we couldn't check-in till 1PM!? They were very nice about it and let us go to the pool and gym until 1. I get that there should be staff at the check-in for help but they had like 8 people there. The lobby area was packed with many people waiting for 1PM. The hotel looks very nice on google photos and is but, the place is VERY outdated. When we finally checked in and went to our rooms we were presented with a rather odd smell in the corridor. The room was good but had some outdated features. The first night there was oddly scary. After staying there I only just found out that it's "Haunted". The wifi was very very slow and had trouble connecting. I loved the sort of hidden roof top pool that we only found on our last couple nights. Much better than the main one thta most of the rooms look down on. I went exploring with my sister and... This place is hugggggeeeee. They had so many convention rooms and stuff. The hotels spot I just cant get enough of the river (Can't see from hotel) and streets behind it had some great thai street food. The cheap massages were so good! There is a mall down the road that was extremely huge and fun to visit. Although the rooms are a bit outdated and creepy my family and I made so many memories there that just makes me want to go back.

We arrived at the hotel lobby at 2PM for check-in as per the check-in timing policy of the hotel. On arrival we saw long que at the reception & we had to wait in the line for 30min standing for our turn. Finally when our turn came the staff took copies of our passport and told us that there is waiting of 1hour as rooms are getting cleaned up. I was shocked to hear this & tried to speak to the manager but the staff was very rude plus none of them understood English language properly. We had no option to wait till 3.30PM to get our room. After getting the room we noticed the room had a secret door from inside connecting the next room but it was locked and we could hear people talking in the next room which was very disturbing for us and I am sure it would be same for them. The hotel is very old and dingy. Bathroom showers do not function properly, toilet flush was getting chocked frequently. One night we called the reception asking to provide cutlery as we had got food from out. We kept waiting and calling them but they didn't bother to deliver it. Most of the time nobody will answer your calls. Overall pathetic experience of service and poor quality rooms. You'll get better options in Bangkok than this so kindly avoid this property. Lastly, I see on google this property seems to be haunted but we didn't experience anything during our stay

This old hotel has renovated and looks as good as new now. Not the same service received as before as they prolly getting out of post covid stage. Still will come back to stay as it is quite good value for money.

Overprice, everything is from the 50โ€™s Not just in style, bath tub was cleaned but with brown colors and water wasnโ€™t evacuating properly. Breakfast is Asia style only Swimming pool in the middle of hotel to let every room hear kids from opening time

Perfect location, good services, and good price. It would be perfect if my husband and I can have a double bed instead of two single bed combined into one. However, for a short term stay, we highly recommend this hotel as it has a connecting bridge to Ratchadevi BTS Station.

  • 3/5 Hon Keung L. 1 year ago on Google
The price and location are the main selling points. Hotel is directly connected to bts. The hotel has clearly been here for a while and had its grandeur in the past. the accommodations are sufficient but still could use some modernization. The rooms are cleaned acceptably for these old rooms. Bring your own slippers. Breakfast is also ok. If you expect more pick a more modern hotel.

  • 4/5 Nomadic V. 2 years ago on Google
Located directly at BTS Ratchathewi with an own entrance. Good hotel, friendly staff. One star less because my door card didnโ€™t work every evening and I had to go back to the reception. But I can recommend this hotel.

  • 4/5 Phil L. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel has been better days. Staff are polite and the breakfast buffet spread acceptable for the hotel. Rooms are dated but clean, I was in two adjoining suites. The little galley was devoid of cutlery/crockery but had a kettle and complimentary coffee/tea. Apart from the location nothing else go shout about. The hotel rating is more of 3 star instead of 4.

The reviews made me a bit wary but I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are dated but comfortable and the food especially Chinese is lovely. Helpful reception staff. Hotel is in a great location for the train. Good price as well

Love this hotel, link to BTS and attentive staffs. Reception to the bell captain and door man. All services with a smile. Nice breakfast buffet too. Definitely will come back. I gave 4 stars for the room as something wrong with the shower switch but rectified upon complaint not a big issue. So far so good with hot water etcs.

  • 4/5 Javier G. 1 year ago on Google
Customer service and experience here is on the better side of things relative to the area. Location is great. BTS is outside the hotel and accessable from inside the hotel. Nearby the big shopping malls. However, it appears the place is overdue for some renovations to get it up to a more modern standard.

Awesome location. Nice rooms. 3 star for service, because I was on my Honeymoon and they allocated me a twin bed room. I didn't prebook and was a walk in customer. They should have let me known room type on reception before collecting cash.

Management really needs to work on their front desk staff. At 3 pm - my room was not ready. Overall process of getting the room took really long. Rooms are big and clean ( old style) It is directly connected to the metro station Ratchathevi. Easy access to metro/ cab/ seven 11 shops. Breakfast has many options but nothing for Indians.
