Good hostel with amazing staff. The manager, Amit, is like a really knowledgeable concierge, who will tell you about the best places in the city according to your needs. The mattresses are very comfortable, every bed has a power socket next to it, and overall the rooms are comfortable. The only complaint though is with the bathrooms, in the sense that they are too small. But apart from all this the location of the hostel is just perfect, within a kilometre to Khaosan Road. There is a 7-eleven right next doors and a lot of cheap food places. Good experience, a must recommend for anyone.

Excellent hostel right next to Khao San Road. I stayed here 3 nights and met lots of people, the bar/ lounge area on the first floor/outside is really nice. It is located on a quieter street so you probably won’t have trouble sleeping in that regard. I think for Bangkok, it’s an exceptional hostel - ammenities are pretty good, I wish they had more showers as they can fill up in the dorm rooms sometimes and one of the showers in the mixed dorm was full so you had to wait a while. They have an event almost every night, like family dinner or pub crawl or something, I didn’t go to any but it was still really easy to meet people!

Back Home Backpackers is fantastic. The name speaks for itself; for explorers who want a taste of home. Ahmet was absolutely lovely, checked me in two hours early and carried my backpack upstairs. He's lived in Thailand for 7 years and comes with great tips about the local area. Khao San Road, for those who want to party, is a short walk away and a cheap quick Grab will take you anywhere you want to go. I had a private room for my first three nights in Bangkok and this was perfect for me. Great little space and bathroom; walls are fairly thin but didn't deter me from a good night's sleep. I met half a dozen legends over 3 days and there are plenty of other solo travellers about so it's great if you want to meet n greet!

Great hostel for the traditional Thailand experience and to meet people. Mostly girls who were there which was nice. Easy to book and comfortable bed. Room air conditioned well. 5 stars for the price, people, location, and friendly staff. Facilities as expected for price. Great spot next to a nice restaurant on the corner. Also right next to 7/11 for all your needs.

Great hostel! Stayed here 3 times within 2 months. Staff is so friendly and helpful. You’ll meet plenty of other backpackers. I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm. Very comfy beds, very clean, central location. You can refill your water bottle and check out the small Blues bar around the corner. Really cool!

Perfect place to stay. Had a lovely time at BHB. The friendly conversations with the Night Shift guy drunk when you come back are highly recommended :)

Stayed for 3 nights in the 10 ppl dorm room in August (low season). Rooms are spacious enough, beds very comfy with curtains and lockers, AC working well overnight (fans on during daytime). Staff extremely friendly and helpful, did a cooking class with them and had so much fun! Great bars and restaurants around it. Would definitely stay again.

Pleasant stay. The lockers in the room are very small. So if you like your stuff safe and locked, not the best. But very close to khaosan rd. There are restaurants and a 711 all in the little area. Staff is super friendly and 24 hr reception . From the airport take a grab if you are getting in late. Should cost around 440 baht...all in all its a nice clean place.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Out of all hostels I stayed at in SE Asia this was my favorite so far. With daily activities it's reasonably social without being a party hostel. It's impressively clean and no mosquitos in the rooms. Good working wifi. Not well connected to the sky trains or metro, so here you either need to use local buses or pay for bolt/grab. If you like to walk you can easily walk from here to the Grand Palace or the Reclining Buddha temple, although it might take 20-30min. If you're coming here from the airport I recommend taking the S1 shuttle bus. It's very cheap and comes wuite directly here. Overall I'd recommend this hostel.

I didn't like the hostel because of one person of the staff. One night there was a super drunk guy in my room, who felt on my bed on me while i was sleeping, breaking the curtain and also scaring me so much. This guy already before was super annoying. He tried to enter a bed of another guy, and he was splitting everywhere. I went downstairs in the middle of the night, i told what happened and i asked the staff to keep this guy somewhere else but my room. This one guy of the staff told me that it was not his responsibility and that I booked a dorm and not a private room, so i couldn't complain. I was shocked because of his answer and i told him that the solution for me was to call the police right in that moment. He bagged me not to do so. In the mean time, i got a support of a guy who was sleeping in my room, who was annoyed by the drunk man before too. The person from the staff kept repeating that the drunk man was not his responsibility and that thr only thing he could do was to move me to another room. But what about the other 9 people sleeping in my samme room?!?! He would have moved onee by one everybody if they complained, maybe leaving the ddunk man alone in a 10 bed dormitory? BAH. AFTER ONE HOUR OF DISCUSSION ABOUT THIS, he finally accepted to take care of te drunk guy. Anyway, i felt very unsafe and not respected in that hostel. Rooms are good but they can smell bad because there is no ventilation system. Bathrooms are clean. The location is very good.

Good hostel on a nice Bangkok location. The staff was super nice. The private bedroom could be a bit bigger, but it was nice anyways.

Amazing hostel , definitely recommend it. Such nice staff and very good location. Only 10 min walk to the tourist places.

Love this hostel! Nice and clean facilities, great public area to hang out and relax and many organized activities so it’s easy to connect with others! Also beautifully located, 5 min foot walk to Kao San road but in a quiet neighborhood at the same time with great places to eat just meters away. Staff is very welcoming and helpful!

Was expecting more from this place based on reviews. Pros: It’s quiet and a short walk from the main Khaosan Rd area. Cons: It’s too quiet. Honestly there was absolutely no vibe at the place; I found it quite depressing. The staff were downright awkward and unwelcoming. There was no one to meet and nothing to do. If all you need is a decent bed in a quieter spot near Khaosan Rd, then this place is fine. But there’s gotta be better spots around. Perhaps this place was better back in the day, or is more lively and enjoyable during a busier season. But I don’t know how it has such a high rating. And the private rooms were not worth the cost; might as well go get a nicer hotel for barely anymore cost. TLDR: It’s fine if you just need a bed in this location; Otherwise, avoid

This hostel is solid if you’re looking for a simple accommodation which I know most hostels are. I had hoped for a bit more pizazz since I booked a private room, but it was really simple (shower head and toilet right on top of each other kinda thing). Taking stairs up to the third floor in the unforgiving heat of Bangkok wasn't easy but the staff helped me with my luggage upon my request and were kind about it. The AC remote was not user friendly and seemed to not work properly. Room was clean and location was good.

Bit pricy for a hostel, and I've seen nicer rooms for the same money. That being said the staff is helpful and friendly, the place has a very relaxed atmosphere. Its on a relatively quiet street. Definetly one of the best places to meet nice people, I tend to come for drinks in the evening even if i dont have a room/bed here.

Such a lovely hostel! The location is amazing and the staff is very friendly. I stayed in the private room which was nice. The shower wasn’t attached to the wall anymore but besides this very comfy. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Definitely good prices on cocktails. Beds are not comfortable and definitely need a change. A much older crowd staying at this place compared to other hostels.

Honestly I thought as far as hostels go this place was great. Not the most modern spot but the staff are all really nice and host nightly events to get people to socialize. It's on a little quiet side street away from the craziness of Khao San but still a close walk. Also I had to check out a few days early and they refunded me! So nice :)

Mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable in the private room. Both times I stayed, there were mosquitos in the room on arrival. Basically no windows and the bathroom is a combined toilet/shower. Really not up to standards for the cost. At least the hot water worked.

  • 4/5 Francesca C. 1 year ago on Google
The hostel is nice and clean, the common area is cosy and the staff organizes social events almost every evening. The area around is full of hostels and restaurants/bars to serve tourists, so prices can be higher for not so authentic food. We went for one of the recommended tours (train market and floating market) which we would not recommend as it’s expensive and the places are overcrowded with tourists.

Good location but pretty expensive. Good facilities but the walls are as thin as paper. Not bad in general, they charge too much.

room smeled a little like mold my shower was leaking a bit so the floor was constantly wet room was aa little smaller than on the picture and they only accept cash wich costs you extra fees

I don’t know why people say that the staff is nice. Apart from the mister staying over night and the long hair lady, at the reception, they are the less pleasant Thai people I ever met. Change job ! I got a room with no air cond and it was so small it’s look like a mess with all our backpacks. The front lobby is nice though and easy to meet people.

Really nice hostel for a solo travel, because it has a really social vibe and the staff is so kind. The location is perfectly because of the Supermarkt and restaurants and kohsan road is around.

  • 5/5 Sarah C. 1 year ago on Google
Really enjoyed my stay here! Great social atmosphere and lots of fun games to play/ chill out spaces. My only feedback would be please do something about the beds. I was not the top bunk and everything someone just walked past the bunk I would rock like I was in an earthquake. They bed supports are so loose that someone just waking gentle past the bed to exit the room will wake you up. Recommend getting a bottom bunk that is away from the door.

Highly recommended! The staff is wonderful, the location is the best and I felt like I was at home! I kept extending and stayed there for a total of 10 nights (where I’d initially just booked 1 haha). It’s the only hostel around that really promotes meeting people and makes it so easy to make friends, so it’s wonderful for solo travelers. It’s full of cheap local restaurants around and since this is the old part of town, you don’t feel like you’re in a big city at all. Love you, BHB!

One of my favorite Hostels! The staff are so friendly and funny. It’s a chill atmosphere and so easy to meet new people and explore Bangkok together! I stayed there everytime I was in Bangkok and will come back again! I recommend this place to everybody!

Just passing through bangkok for a day. Went along with my friend who checked in this hostel. The staff are very kind and helpful even to a non guest like me. Very chill place that is located in a very chill place away from the madness around. I promise myself to stay in this hostel on my next visit to Thailand on February.

Not sure why people would ever leave a negative review online for this place. I have been traveling for 3 months and have seen all kind of hotel rooms and hostels and this place is nice, clean and has all the things you would expect from a good hostel. - Comfortable beds - Working air conditioning - clean showers/ bathroom - A cool lobby hangout place with a friendly vibe. - Wifi connection is strong all over. - Owner and staff super helpful and friendly. - Very good location, walking distance to everything 5/5

Fun hostel with friendly staff who’ll make you feel at home. Easy to meet other travellers here and it’s close to a lot of things to see and do in Bangkok. Dorms are comfortable and is a good deal for the price

I spent only one short night in this place but I immediately loved it. Very warm, very cozy. I felt immediately "back home" The owner is cool and super nice, and his helps were super nice too. This place attracts good backpackers too, friendly and easy to talk to. Very good common area, well designed, perfect to chill and meet people and talk. You can lay down on mattresses on bamboo while charging your phone while being in the common area. Perfect. Kind of a slightly hippie vibe. Usually in hippie leaning hostels you get pretty poor facilities and beds, but here the mattress were crazy good, super thick. Among the best beds I had in hostels. Very well located, very close to Kao San Road but not right into, so it's silent despise very close to the action. One thing that that place have which is not common is really a feeling of "warmness". Would definitely come back
