Something special and off the beaten track in Bangkok. The architecture is almost 200 years old depicting the "not so humble abode" of a rich Thai Chinese business family. Nice place to chill for an hour or so to escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok tourist areas. This place brings back childhood memories. In my own opinion, well worth the visit.

This place got some history. It’s used to be very popular, but now it’s just another shrine around the area. Parking is 1 hour for free.

There is so much history in the walls and it has been restored beautifully. It is a great place for photos! There is no entrance fee. When we were there, it was during COVID so a lot of the entertainment spaces were closed, otherwise I’m sure it is a great hang out spot. There is a gift shop inside, coffee shop, art exhibit, restaurant and restrooms. You can also purchase a little tablet or a ribbon to hang up for good luck. 🥰 The river is at the edge of the courtyard and you can take a ferry right across the river to Chinatown for 5 baht!

It's a pity that the shops and bars have mostly closed. All that remains are a clothing shop, a cafe and a prayer hall. This is an old piece of architecture from the early 1900s placed in the midst of bustling Bangkok. Note that the river boats do not head there anymore. Visit for the scenery, architecture and perhaps prayers.

A very quiet and peaceful temple (Chinese in origin I think) that's very picturesque in places . When we were there was only 1 other person there. It's not very big and can easily look round it all in 30 minutes. It does have a little cafe/tea shop and a gift shop. There's a canal boat stop a couple minutes walk away.

Cool area and great for the person interested in Chinese culture and/or a good historical site. But overall there isn’t much to do here. A cute gift shop and some old structures but not many monuments or statues. I’d recommend it for a cute spot but not at the top of my tourist list of places to visit

Wandered into this joint en route to Icon Siam. It's hushed, almost like it's holding its breath, waiting for the main act to start. The walls practically ooze untold stories, and you can sense the potential pulsing in the air. Keep your eyes peeled; something big's about to drop here. Oh, and for you shutterbugs and Instagram addicts, this place is a goldmine—every corner's a Kodak moment, begging to be captured.

Peaceful and quite place. If you want to feel the breeze of the river, you can come and sit and feel it. Otherwise, nothing special to see. You can pray the Buddha according to chinese sequence. For profile picture or cover photo, this place can give you thousands of brilliant shoots.

This is a great “off the tourist trail” shrine. This place is not crowded with tourists. You can have photos and videos here without being disturbed by other tourists. It’s also peaceful and calm since it is a shrine called the MAZU shrine. It is also historical and is accessible via ferry and grab. The river with the ferry station is just beside it. The place have beautiful lanterns and lilies. You can book a grab to go there or ride a ferry.

I think in the past it's been amazing, but unfortunately many of the small boutique shops are now closed. Even the coffee shop I visited a few months back is now sadly closed. Still it's a very nice, peaceful old chinese temple with some great photo opportunities.

"The Lhong 1919 Riverside Heritage Destination", which is an historical attraction where visitors are invited to admire and embrace the beauty and value of ancient Chinese architecture, and experience. But unfortunately its just the skeleton of the place once it was. Now its all damaged buildings and not much shops there. Better to avoid if you don't have much interest in heritage sites.

Old Chinese style warehouses opens to the public for free entry It was quiet during my visit (Pandemic), but great for taking photos of the sceneries as there were not many people around There were only just a few food stores opened (not restaurants) Then a few souvenir shops Perhaps when things return to normal I will check it out again Plenty of parking

A restored heritage of Chinese community in Thailand. The place is special but seems lack of maintenance recently. Most of the shops were closed.

Very nice place with many little corners that can bring you the breeze of Chinese vibes. There is a temple inside and I saw many women wearing Cheongsam to take photos here. But beware that if you come here for professional photography, they may charge for the entrance fee.

Very peaceful when there's little people. Sadly there's nothing much to do except visiting the temple and take picture. I would say see the news if there is any event, but if you want a peaceful vibe. come during there is no event is pretty nice

The new owner of Lhong 1919 is busy renovating and adding attractions but the event place.is open every day. Shops are opening, food and drinks are available from mobile kitchens. Already during the day it is very lively but in the evening the crowd is coming wealthy 20 to 40 something

Only Chinese shrine is available daily until 6.30pm and some coffee shops. This historical place is a Yes spectecular sight seeing for old Chinese style architecture in Bangkok. Nice for photo shooting. Car park is available near by. You can buy the fire stick at shrine start from 50baht in order to get 3hrs free parking.

A great outdoors space with Sino architectural influence, saddened having heard it would be torn down for a new development soon. Bangkok needs more open outdoor spaces to preserve its heritage

Lhong 1919, a new tourist attraction in Bangkok on the Thonburi side, is located on the Chao Phraya River, opposite Talad Noi. by reviving the former port. Lhong 1919 there is a multipurpose area. For events, exhibitions, there are restaurants and cafes. as a source of chill out and meet the city people who want to go back and reminisce about the history. And the way of life of people in the early Rattanakosin period passed here

A short walk away from The Jam Factory and on the Western bank of the Chao Praya River, Lhong1919 comprises a group of old warehouses and a Chinese temple that dates back to the rule under King Rama IV (1851-1868), that has been converted to a co-working space, F&B outlets, galleries, and art shops. There was nothing much there open (other than 2 cafes) when I visited, I guess it's still recovering from COVID-19. But the vibes were great and I was more than impressed by the beautiful space. I also imagine it would be much more lovely to hang out there at night!

I went on Thursday around 10.30. Almost nobody there. A guard and an employee at the temple part. 1 shop with some clothes outside and I didn’t see any other shops or whatever. So yes the old building combined with Chinese music in the background and red decorations gives a good vibe. But within 15 minutes, at least I was done unfortunately. I expected more shops and even a restaurant part but at least I didn’t see it.

Felt like transporting back in time, to when the family and community here first migrated and settled here. Definitely worth a visit to see the well preserved architecture and wall art.

A very unique and quite Chinese place. The restaurant were close when we visit. But the museum's, souvenir shops and food stalls and coffee shop were open. There's a lot of instagramable corner inside. I recommend that you visit in the afternoon because it's too hot when we visit during lunch time. But photos turned out great because of the natural sunlight.

A significant experience.. rumoured to be closed to public access as of 01 December 2021 for remodeling by a hotel chain... what remains of this historic landmark remains to be seen. Busy for 5pm on Sunday afternoon.. everyone making best of the cool breeze and golden sun to get the best photos before close of business... offering views of the river and a glimpse into traditional Chinese life.

Awesomely restored 160 years old Chinese merchants warehouse with courtyard and offices. It was out of use for 100 years and carefully restored in 2016. Considering the value of this riverside prime property it is highly commendable the the owners invested instead of tearing it down for another moneymaking high rise. Definitely worth the journey.

Weird place. Absolute ghost town. Don't know if it's because of COVID19 but it was completely empty and virtually shut down. Some nice traditional style chinese courtyard architecture and some nice river views. But apart from that nothing much to see

A very unique pier, there is like a Chinese shrine with lots art exhibits, galleries, and many are for sale. Clean restrooms, many food trucks (but don't come for the food trucks, they are only so so). Take a tour boat here, right now it's free.

Gorgeous vintage Chinese building near Chao Praya river. So peaceful. Maybe because my visit was at late afternoon. The schedule says open until 8pm but some area close at 6pm. No entrance fee is needed but you can purchase incenses for praying or wooden-wish letter in the shrine.

Came at around noon on a monday. It was so quiet, there was literally no one. Thought it would be crowded. Very nice and peaceful. There were descriptions about the place and also instructions on how to pay respects to the deities. There is also a cafe and a restaurant.
