This is a temple I never intended to visit but I Googled places to visit and Giant Swing caught my interest. When I arrived I saw this huge temple and couldn't resist. Thai lady at the ticket office was lovely and allowed me to practice my Thai with her. She was very accommodating. 100 baht to enter. Map provided. Scorching day, I tried to stick to the shade where possible. I was very impressed by the size of the 2 temples inside. Gardens were kept really well presented with many statues on show.

Majestic, tranquil and simply breathtaking. Thais are so proud of their culture and their arts as manifested in this temple compound! A hidden gen indeed that needs to be explored and experienced.

It is another beautiful and sacred temple in Thailand. It is also the longest Buddhism chamber in Thailand. Inside, there are beautiful and splendid paintings on the walls. walk all over the chapel for whole day is not enough. Both the interior painting and the outside architecture are really beautiful. This temple is not far from subway, BTS Sam Yod station, only 3 minutes walk.

One of the historic temples in Bangkok. With its golden buddha and the tomb of Rama VIII.

The South End of this Temple Site is all Monks Accommodation but interesting to walk through. The North End has two beautiful Temple Buildings, both well worth visiting. One is aligned North-South and the other East-West. I was really impressed with the murals which cover every inch of the wall space inside the Temples, real works of art. The grounds are paved with no natural shade or seating areas, some construction work going on there currently but not on the two main buildings.

One of the most famed temples in Bangkok. A beautiful sprawling grounds with numerous ornate Buddhas in the corridors surrounding the main hall which houses a large golden Buddha within. Note that it is free to enter the main hall, but this is an active place of worship, so please be respectful.

A charming looking albeit fairly modern Buddhist temple. Lots of buildings inside, such as halls and stupas and galleries. Very photogenic place and rather cheap to visit despite being a functioning temple. Its claim to fame is the presence of the "Giant Swing" in the plaza in front of it.

Lovely and such a holy place to visit with friends and family. Beautiful that can't even explain the inside view of temple. I went there 5th times. Plus, it includes some old shop before entering temple where school students eat sometimes and it give best view of old siam. I love the place.

It's a huge complex with beautiful and mesmerizing architecture. The entrance fee is 100THB for foreigners, and free for Thai nationals. Their restroom is really clean, note that you need to remove your footwear before entering.

Gloriously, there’s a massive event celebrating 215th anniversary since solid establishment in Siam country, and gladly, could manage to visit at the first day of 2023. It took us more than a couple of hours for “roughly” seeing things around the holy area. Abundance of wonderment were found in every corner and acre. Never believe in what we said until you guys see it with your very own eyes.

Wat Suthat Thepphawararam Ratchaworamahawihan is a temple from the reign of King Rama VIII that’s highlighted by Sao Ching Cha (Giant Swing), which is located in front of the temple. The sermon hall houses Phra Sri Sakyamuni or Phra To, built during the Phra Ruang Dynasty of the Sukhothai Kingdom that was brought from Phra Wihan Luang, Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai province. Directly below the base of Phra To contains the remains of King Rama VIII.

Besides this being an important Royal Temple, it is absolutely beautiful to visit. The ashes of King Rama VIII are in this temple. There is also a monument to King Rama VIII on a corner of the Temple. Logistically, it is not close to anything else worth visiting. I got here using the MRT, with a little walk from the metro station.

It's a beautiful temple. There is another thing that used to be a symbol or landmark of Bangkok besides Wat Phra Kaew, namely the Giant Swing. Thais enter for free, foreigners pay an entrance fee of 100 baht. It has 2 temples with a big Buddha and a small one. The whole area is pretty big you can walk around and when finish with temple go out to watch giand swing and the plaza there .

Worth a visit if you’re staying in Bangkok for a while but can skip if you’re in Bangkok for a few days. The architecture is beautiful and there’s a giant Buddha statue inside the main building.

My favorite temple for meditation. Unlike other popular temples, this one has very clam and relaxing environment. The temple itself has just already renovated so it’s very clean and beautiful. Walking around the area is also what I would highly recommend; there are plenty of good local restaurants nearby!!

I generally don’t mind paying more than locals for things, but here anyone who doesn’t look Asian is singled out to pay and anyone who looks Asian (not just Thai) walks in without being directed to the counter. And even if you are a non-Asian buddhist you have to pay. Either the staff is badly trained or the policy is inadequate. Do better.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and the reason you're wanting to come here, amazing food! We got the duck dumplings with curry, and the lamb shank with curry. Both amazing dishes! We were seated next to the kitchen, and the other dishes which came out looked amazing as well! Very friendly staff who answered all our questions and had great recommendations! This is a must go to place for amazing eats! It might be smart to book a table ahead of time as it fills up pretty fast!

This is one of an old temple from an early of Rattanakosin age. They have both sanctuary and chappel which enshrined with very nice buddha staue. They are also having an old Wessuwan god at the back of chappel for you to worship too. This temple had no parking area. Thus, you may need to find a parking and walk to visit.

Temple that keeps King's Rama VIII cinerarium. A very old temple built for 200 years since the establishment of the Kingdom. Nearby the Giant swing which is now also Bangkok's landmark. The architecture is Thai style mixed with Chinese influence.

Wat Suthat Thepwaranam Rachaworamahawihan is under reconstruction but even then worth of visit. The entrance fee is 100 baht for tourists, about 2,7 euro; for local people the entrance is free. When the reparation is over, you can see a nice square of Buddhas sitting around the Viharn of the temple. As a Bangkok temple, Wat Suthat Thepwaranam Rachaworamahawihan is not surprisingly a big, magnificent, awesome temple.

Beautiful temple grounds. The main temple itself was stunning with the walls covered floor to ceiling in murals. There were multiple Buddha statues all around the courtyard. Very large complex with 2 separate temples and many stone statues everywhere to admire.

The great temple and fascinating place to visit near the Bangkok metropolitan administrative office. For the foreigners, you must visit the front door of this temple to get the ticket for 50THB. But for Thais, it’s free.

I have an affinity with wat suthat. This is the first temple I visited during my Bangkok trip back in the teenage years. The temple is currently undergoing a major reconstruction due to it’s legacy. This is a place of rich historical value and religious practice. The walls of the praying halls are crafted with hand painted story-line of the Buddha teachings. I feel at ease and delighted at revisiting wat suthat after all these years. Thank you for being a part of me, I will be back again soon with my 3 daughters to visit wat suthat. Satu. 🙏🙏🙏.

It was a great idea to visit. The wonderful temple is a must-visit place in Bangkok. It stands as one of the most famous temples in Thailand. We were fortunate that it wasn't crowded on the day we visited. It is definitely a must-see attraction in Bangkok.

This is one of the Royal temples, there only ten temples with such status . It is well preserved and a serene place in the middle of Bangkok. It has quite courtyards and spectacular temple and prayer hall. Both have large Buddha images and extensive murals on the walls.come and look at the paintings on the walls which have been restored.

I went on 15 May 2022 (Vesak / Bucha Day). Temple have more people went for prayers. A very big temple and have many high steps. Entrance have a counter that ask for 100 bahts for "tourists" (give u an Eng brochure and a drink). The drink cost less than 100 bahts. 1 star down for this point. Wat Suthat is very famous for the Medicine Buddha (Phra Kring) amulet!
