This is a wonderful resource and gets 5 stars for being free, you just register your name. A beautifully air-conditioned corridor, with information boards on the different butterflies, leads to the main enclosure. A nice waterfall and stream runs through the enclosure which is populated with flowering plants for the butterflies to feed on.

Great place to chill. A hidden gem, bring a bottle of water and your camera. I spied at least 7 separate species, you have to be patient, there are a few in there as big as birds. When you get tired of chasing butterflies, go stand in the AC inside. A nice, no cost thing to do. For more pics, visit my Instagram, wildalaskaken_official

Nice weekend morning or afternoon getaway. The gardens are small, but there are a lot of beautiful butterflies. Some of the butterflies may even fly onto your hand. Perfect for small kids and families. Also, perfect to combine a visit to Chatuchak Park and the huge weekend market at Chatuchak (clothes, housewares, pets, street food).

Cycling round rotfai park is one of my favourite bkk days out. And stopping at the butterfly garden is a must. Its free and includes a fairly unspectacular display but then a small enclosure with beautiful orchids and other plants which are home to myriad beautiful butterflies. Well worth a brief stop.

Amazing place to introduce the kids to most amazing and beautiful living creatures of nature. Easy to spend few hours exploring the beauty of nature, get amazed and photograph them. The butterflies can get real close! So many of them and so many sizes, colours and verities. I got a pic to such close up and clarity that I surprised myself. I could see the butterfly proboscis which was folded spirally, that wasn't even visible with naked eyes. Then there were butterflies resembling leaves with perfect camouflage. One of the butterflies was so huge, measuring around 20cm. I could take close photo while it stayed still. Needed to take photo with a pen for reference so that the folks back home would believe it. There is a small insectarium where we can know various phases on life of butterflies and see preserved samples of many types. It got bit hot and humid due the the conditions for butterflies to flourish and needed to be hydrated often. Overall it is a great place to visit, learn and enjoy the beauty.

A quaint place in the city with some butterflies to marvel at. Maybe not worth the trip if you aren't specifically interested in insects. But a good place to visit if you're also visitng the weekend market. It is a bit of walking from the skytrain station and you can really only enter the park from one spot only. Don't try to walk along the bigger road, just go straight to the park from the station.

Beautiful butterfly garden. The exhibits on insects are all written in Thai, so we couldn’t read them but they had cool exhibits showing different caterpillars and pupae. The butterfly house itself was nice too but an upstairs and downstairs area. It’s interesting because unlike butterfly houses in other countries, they did not have to create an artificially warm environment because the environment is already correct. We had fun wandering around for 30 min.

One of the best parks in Bangkok with big parking spaces. You can hire a bicycle to explore the park. The park has a long walking track surrounded by a sunflower garden, a Lake, picnic spots, a butterfly Park, and small stores in the park. It is one of the best places for running and walking. There are many good restaurants near by but beware of monitor lizards.

It’s a lovely place to spend an hour or so chilling out and spotting the beautiful butterflies. One settled on the floor by my foot and was “licking” it’s proboscis on my shoes, that was cool to watch! (Doubt it tasted great though 🤣 )

Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is a hidden gem that offers a captivating and educational experience for nature enthusiasts. The lush, landscaped garden is a haven for butterflies of various shapes and sizes, and it's not uncommon to be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of these beautiful creatures.

It is free. The staff very attentive. Although I would have preferred to pay and get a more in-depth butterfly experience. We expected more options to interact with insects and caterpillars. 6 yr old verdict. This place was not cool.

A bit on the small side and could have been maintained better, but saying that it is free of charge and have beautiful butterflies. Fun for kids as the butterflies will sit on your head, face, anywhere basically. You can make it an afternoon out of it, as it's situated in a huge park.

"A place where butterflies heal you." If you are tired of JJ Market, come here to rest your wings. The dome-covered, all-weather facility will show you the richness of Thailand's butterfly species. The compact exhibit shows the process from egg to larva, pupa, and adult with real-life examples to help you learn more about Thailand's butterflies. The dome where the main butterflies are located is a bit hot, so we recommend coming in the morning or evening, or during the dry season if you come during the day. Admission is free, although a brief registry with your name and phone number is required at the entrance. We must thank Thailand for providing this facility for free, where we can see many different species of butterflies every time we come. Fee: Free of charge Parking: No You must park on the street at kamphaeng Phet 3Rd or park in the parking lot on the Chatuchak Park side and come on foot. (Depending on where you park, it is about a 10-15 minute walk via the main gate. *Attention! If you park on the street on Saturday or Sunday, parking is not allowed in the zone with the red and white zebra on the sidewalk. If you park there, you will have to pay a high entrance fee to the Thai police! Other: There is a section displaying eggs, larvae, and pupae, but the display should be more visible or appealing. I think it is a waste to display something so valuable.

The gate is so far from the google map point. When we come inside the museum, we have to fill out the registration list, but it's free. Unfortunately, this place is not tourist friendly. All the articles about butterflies and insects are written in Thai. This place would be better if it's maintained well.

My kids loved it here, it's not very big but they were happy enough to walk around finding many different colored butterflies. It is inside a big park, we had a bit of a trouble locating the entrance to the park as Google Maps direction stopped you by the roadside with no entrance door. Satisfied with the place, eventhough it's free, it's better than some of the paid Butterfly Parks I've visited in the past.

An interesting place that is worth visiting while in the park. Rather not worth going here just for butterflies. Visiting this place is free. All you have to do is enter into the guest book. The pavilion is small, but you can catch some breath, enjoy the greenery and observe dozens of butterfly specimens.

This was a very peaceful experience for me given that I was the only one there most of the time. It seems like some of the butterflies are used to tourists and don't mind if you get close sometimes. The only downside to the experience was when I found two butterflies with ripped wings. I hope that people are more careful around these graceful creatures and don't touch their wings.

The entry is free and the garden is lush, but there is not much to see around since the place is quite small. If you happen to be in the park, this is a good stop but there’s really no reason to visit it on its own.

A nice little spot to stop by and visit when the kids ride their bicycles in the park. You get to see a lot of butterflies flying in this little botanical garden, and somehow you might meet nice staff/helper inside that shows you the caterpillar and gives you information about different species of butterflies.

It’s is free so I think 3 star is great however don’t drive specifically to this area to visit the butterfly garden. You will be in and out within 30 mins. There aren’t many butterflies here but still it is nice and as I was in the neighbourhood it was a good use of time.

Worth a visit (it's free) if you're passing through the park, but all in all it's a little out the way from the nearest skytrain stop and it's quite small with not so many butterflies. Poorly signposted also (at least in English).

No need to buy tickets as the entry is free. Imagined it more filled with butterflies. It is still a very cute place, I just wouldn’t recommend going there especially for it, like if it’s on your way Maybe it’s depending on the seasons, not sure, I went there in January

Came here on a free afternoon we had before we left for our flight the following morning. The place is great, its free to get in, all you need do is sign in a book, and you can spend as much time as you want there. There's a museum style part of the building you walk through before you reach the outdoor enclosure, which is quite large and filled with an abundance of butterflies and bees. The place is well maintained as staff are consistently watering the plants and giving it a general clean. Was truly a nice place to spend an hour or so in the afternoon.
