I came by chance to this temple, there was absolutely nobody. It is very quiet, the interior of the temple is superb, I was able to attend the work of the paint restorer who was working on one of the walls. the paintings are superb and you can take the time to walk around without worry. Free entrance.

If you are anyway in this part of the town have a look at Wat Tri Thosathep. It is nothing special but has a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

LOVED THE VISIT! I could say that this is one of underrated Temple in Bangkok and you should not miss. The mural paintings are beautiful and very intricate. I was able to see the person doing the painting and just amazed. Its so quite and not much people visit here. Or maybe its just weekday I guess, but so far I would tell you not to miss this one.

Very quiet temple with lovely murals and people. You can go slow and soak up the Art. It's a small temple so not much to see but if it is just you and the Mrs then it's just right. Just remember to remove your shoes and cover the shoulders and any tattoos Enjoy.

Lovely for sure. Clean and nice and definitely there is a couple of elevators for olders and people who are in need. Beautiful golden big budha(pure gold) with great story. I will not tell you all here. Please visit the temple and find out. Overall is just great temple to visit while you are in Bangkok!!!

THIS IS THE THIRD GRADE ROYAL TEMPLE OF WORAWIHAN. PRINCE WITSANUNART NIPHA THORN (PRINCE SUPRADIT - THE FOUNDER OF SUPRADIT NA AYUTTHAYA ROYAL FAMILY CLAN), WHO WAS ONE OF OF KING RAMA IV'S SONS, BUILT THIS TEMPLE NEAR HIS PALACE. HOWEVER, HE PASSED AWAY IN 1862 BEFORE STARTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE, SO KING RAMA IV ORDERED PRINCE MAHESUAN S/WAWILAT (PRINCE NOPPHAWONG - THE FOUNDER OF NOPPHAWONG NA AYUTTHAYA ROYAL FAMILY CLAN), A HALFBLOOD OF CHAO CHOM MARNDA NOI (THE FIRST CONCUBINE OF KING RAMA IV), TO CONTINUE THE CONSTRUCTION. BUT PRINCE MAHESUAN SIWAWILAT ALSO PASSED AWAY IN 1867 BEFORE THE CONSTRUCTION WAS COMPLETED. SO KING RAMA IV CONTINUED AND COMPLETED THE CONSTRUCTION AND GRACIOUSLY NAMED THE TEMPLE WAT TRI THOTSATHEP WHICH MEANS A TEMPLE THAT WAS BUILT BY 3 DEITIES WHICH REFERS TO KING RAMA IV AND HIS TWO SONS WHO TRIED TO BUILD THIS TEMPLE TOGETHER. PHUK PHATTHA SIMA (THE TEMPLE'S BOUNDARY WHICH WAS FIXED BY MONKS) CEREMONY WAS HELD ON JANUARY 7, 1949. THE IMPORTANT BUDDHA IMAGES THAT ARE ENSHRINED INSIDE THE ORDINATION HALL (PHRA UBOSOTH) ARE AS FOLLOWS: THE FIRST ONE IS THE PRINCIPAL BUDDHA IMAGE IN MEDITATION POSTURE WAS MADE FROM ALLOY AND BUILT BY PRINCE PHAK PHIMONPHAN. THE OTHERS ARE TWO STANDING BUDDHA IMAGES HOLDING ALM'S BOWLS, WEARING PRINCE WITSANUNART NIPHA THORN'S CLOTHES AND ANOTHER ONE WEARING PRINCE MAHESUAN SIWAWLAT' CLOTHES, BOTH IMAGES WERE BUILT BY KING RAMA IV.
