The best thing about the Villa Mungkala is the location and the worst thing is the location. Let me explain. The B&B, because that's what it is, is located within walking distance of all of the major historic sites in Bangkok. This is a plus. On the negative side the alley where the building is located is kind of a slum with shacks, homeless cats and dogs, and no sidewalk to speak of. It looks very questionable at night but for the more adventurous it has the unquestionable "local" feel to it. The rooms are clean and spacious, AC works well and the bathrooms have hot water, though they are on a small side. The service is great and very friendly, breakfast is cooked to order instead of a buffet style. All and all a very decent no frills Bed and Breakfast.

It's one of the best hotels that l have been in my life. Very clean, beautiful, and they have take care of all the details. Historic building, it's very close to the touristic places. The omner are so friendly and polite, making you happy all the time, looks like that we have been with my family. Totally recommended.

This place was wonderful, homey, and so accommodating! They were nothing but helpful, with wonderful home cooked breakfast every morning. Only trick is finding the place, as it's a little ways down an alley, which proved confusing to our cab driver, but the host made the effort to come down the road to meet us and make sure we got there alright. Walking distance to Khoa San road, and many of the temples and attractions. Will definitely be looking these guys up the next time we stay in Bangkok!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The alley to the destination may be overwhelming for first timers, however we got used to it and love how unassuming this neighbourhood is. Cosy bedrooms & absolutely friendly staff making sure you’re well taken care of!

Unfortunately we stayed just one night in this wonderful colonial house, located in a quiet street 20 mins from the Royal Palace. The staff is very kind, they made us feel at home and welcomed us even if we arrived very late at night for a plane delay. Good breakfast with fresh fruit and the possibility to choose among different dishes.

Really cute little villa in the heart of Bangkok. Great location for street food and site seeing. Clean room, good working aircon, comfortable mattress (probably one of the softest we found in Thailand haha as they’re mostly hard). Hosts are super accomodating, breakfast was simple and cute.

My stay here was absolutely delightful! Villa Mungkala is a cozy little home tucked away in a quiet little street, just 10 minutes from the happening Khaosan road. The whole place has a antique feel to it, and the decor is extremely tasteful. What I especially loved here were the staff - they were so warm and friendly and made sure that my stay was comfortable. The breakfast and complimentary muffins were delicious too. Definitely going back here on my next trip to Bangkok.

It is near the historic centre town. The breakfast is prepared at the moment for you, and it is very tasty with good quality. The attention from the staff is great and very helpful, giving you good advice for what to see and the prices to pay, specially transportation.

Quaint, historic and friendly guesthouse for those who are keen on an adventurous side of life. The alley is very questionable with sketchy and shabby houses but on the other hand it gives you a glimpse of what the ‘locals’ really are. Plus, it is just a stone throw from great street food and landmarks. The place itself and the room is lovely with a hint of Victorian English decor. Shower is hot and having a bathtub is what I love the most. The bed is alright but could get a bit toasted during the night because of how the AC is located. Breakfast is great. You are provided with a selection of choices. I opted for a full English breakfast and it was fulfilling with decent English sausage.(Not the average starchy- industrial-made sausage, if you know what I mean) Definitely give the homemade strawberry jam a try! Staff was accommodating and friendly. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my stay.

A great funky place to stay. Decorated in the style of an English 50s lounge room

Only stayed one night, but it was a lovely experience. The Villa has a really cute interior and the rooms were clean and cozy. There's free coffee, tea, fruits, muffins, and cereal for anyone to enjoy. The staff was also so lovely and helpful; I had to leave very early in the morning and they prepared a container of fresh cut up fruits for me :) Very conveniently located just 5 minutes from Khao San Road.

We loved our stay here. The house is adorably decorated, rooms are clean, spacious and with the AC. Timmy is helpful, and will help you set up transportation and trips, if you want. The location it is also good, close to the main sites. We loved our stay here.

Super nice house with a european cachet, friendly and helpful staff. Located in a small street with regular people not touristic at all. Clean and tidy.

Gorgeous building, tasteful and cohesive decoration, convenient location, quiet neighborhood and lovely, kind and helpful hosts Aib and Pu. It's a great place to relax after long walks around the city and it being close to Khao San Road provides a huge offering of food and nightlife. Definitely recommended when you're looking for a special place to stay.

A very friendly and cozy place with an old fashioned charme. Wonderful staff, very nice interieur. It‘s in the middle of Bangkok, but in a very secluded alley, so it it is quiet and feels more like a village than a metropolis. Highly recommended!
